He was paying our sin debt. He was fulfilling the demands of scripture that had said “Without the shedding of Blood there can be no remission of sin.” He was becoming Isaiah’s “Suffering Servant.” He was becoming John, the Baptist’s “Lamb of God.” The cross was real in experience. The cross is real in effectiveness. The cross is the only way to salvation. The way of the cross leads

and passed. Discussion, consideration and action to allow Bonham Masonic Lodge to hold a ceremony for the masonic cornerstone on the courthouse during Fannin County’s Rededication Day: Commissioner Self stated this was something special as it was part of the original build from 1888. Johnny Neal, Derrick Valchar, and Michael Nelson were present as representatives of the Constantine Masonic Lodge #13 located in Bonham. Michael Nelson thanked the Court and proceeded to give a history of the lodge being the fifth oldest working Masonic Lodge in Texas who received its charter from Texas before Texas was a state. He explained they have been in Bonham ever since it was a community and had been allowed originally by the City of Bonham in 1888 to lay their cornerstone. They believe it would be a special opportunity to rededicate that cornerstone during the rededication of the Courthouse. He said they would be very flexible in working with the Committee to assure there would be no scheduling conflicts with their ceremony and

Today, anyone may go online or call a provider directly to schedule an appointment for a vaccine. 10. Discussion, consideration and action regarding Courthouse Restoration: An update was not received by the court prior to today’s meeting however Commissioner Lackey reported about the visible work being done. Discussion, consideration and action regarding the change in zoning application for 1.75 acres on County Road 2900 in Dodd City; from Agriculture to Rural Estate, Singlefamily District: This item had been discussed during the morning’s hearing. Commissioner Lackey made a motion to approve the change in zoning, seconded by Commissioner Magness
903-623-0025 other events planned during the day. He further noted that many famous Texas figures, like Sam Houston, Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, Stephen F. Austin and others had been Masonic men and described Bonham’s part in the Historic Battle of the Alamo. A citizen of Fannin County spoke after the presentation to voice concerns about specific groups not being representative of the majority of the citizenry. In the spirit of unity, he suggested a Masonic ceremony would be best performed before or after the Rededication Day Services so that anyone who might not want to sit through their ceremony, would not have to. Judge Moore stated he believes the committee that had been set up should decide on the activities and time slots for those activities. Discussion ensued after which Commissioner Self made a motion to allow the Bonham Masonic Lodge to hold a ceremony for the masonic cornerstone on the Courthouse during Rededication Day at a specific time the Rededication Day Committee approves, the motion was seconded by Commissioner Magness, more discussion followed, and

Michael 6/20/17 Evans announces candidacy for Bonham City Council At-Large Position Hello Bonham neighbors! As a homeowner, businessman, and former City Council member, I request your vote for Bonham City Council AtLarge. I am the best (and only qualified) candidate to fill this seat. Managing our growth and infrastructure issues takes experience. During my two terms on the City Council, we brought in the AWOS (Automatic Weather Observation System) to Jones Field and the Holiday Inn Express, among other projects. Our wa-
ter/wastewater and street infrastructure projects need immediate attention. We must work to retain the experience and deep knowledge of our veteran first responders. We will make tough decisions and live within our means. Experience matters and I will be ready on Day One. My email address is michaelevans1836@ yahoo.com. On May 1, vote Michael Evans for Bonham City Council At-Large. Early Voting is April 19-27. Thank you!

Letter to the Editor SELECTION COMMITTEE
A job well done is extended to members: Honorable Judge Laurie Blake, Honorable County Commissioner Edwina Lane (welcome aboard), County Clerk Tammy Bigger, and Honorable County Judge Randy Moore (Commissioners Court). You did what was expected from you….. you selected the best qualified architect (PGAL) to represent the citizens of Fannin County to design their Justice Center; un-
fortunately your selection was rejected by a majority of the Commissioners Court. You aligned yourself with the facts as you saw them without reservation……for that you can be proud for doing the right thing in faithfully discharging the duties you was assigned. The integrity of elected officials is measured by their sustained ability to govern in fairness and with honor. Thank you for your service. VIA FANNIN COUNTY. Larry C. Waldrop

Fannin County Republican Women’s Meeting
Fannin County Commissioner Edwina Lane Photo by Rose Schwartz By Rose Schwartz The Fannin County Republican Women’s meeting was called to order Monday, April 5, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. The Serenity Prayer was recited and pledges were made to the United States and Texas flag. Acknowledgments of the organizations’ office holders were followed by recognition of the elected officials in attendance at the meeting. Afterward, the various reports were given with emphasis on the encouraging number of memberships to date. Information on a printed handout was given to all in attendance regarding the Texas Republican Party and their legislative priorities. It was also called to the attention of attendees, that on the back of the Fannin County Republican Women’s Agenda handout, was a website listed (Capitol.texas.gov) to find out what bills were currently moving through the system. All were encouraged to contact Representative Reggie Smith with their thoughts on the Bills being considered in our Capitol. Before introducing the evening’s speaker, Commissioner Edwina Lane; FCRW Program Director District Judge Laurie Blake, encouraged members to bring a guest to the May 3rd FCRW meeting to hear Tomi Grover, Ph.D. who is the North Texas Regional Administra-
tor, Office of the Governor, of the Child Sex Trafficking Team. Commissioner Lane began her presentation with a few light-hearted jokes about the beginning of her journey to become the Commissioner for Precinct 1. She then described the importance she has placed on being available to hear from the citi-
zens of Precinct 1 and any other Fannin County citizens regarding issues that exist. She has made herself available by having a community meeting to hear firsthand from the people about issues affecting them (mainly bad roads) and having an app downloaded on her cell phone which allows calls coming into her office to roll over to her cell phone when she is away from the office. Another way to contact the Commissioner is via her newly set-up e-mail which is: elane@fanninco. net. She has created a website for Precinct 1 at her own expense which is: www. FanninPCT1.com which has information about meetings scheduled, a blog for ideas and a place where citizens can sign up to volunteer their help. She said on the first day she made it known to her crew that each one would be expected to work every day and did sometime later, have a few employees leave. But after hiring some experienced workers, she feels she currently has a good crew of six employees who have been working diligently to get work done. There has been work done
on the county barn she and her crew work out of, gravel roads are being maintained daily, trees and brush cut, brush cleaned up that was cut in 2018, debris cleared from ditches and culverts have been repaired. She said that currently, repairing blacktop roads is her biggest challenge as it is the costliest. With a budget of $60,000 for the year that had $35,000 spent by the time she came into office, maintaining aged equipment that has been constantly breaking down has not been easy and repairing blacktop roads near impossible due to the sparsity of budget funds. She extended thanks to Commissioners Self, Magness and Lackey who have stepped up to help her during times of broken-down equipment with equipment loans from their precincts. Commissioner Lane wrapped her talk upon the positive note
that, though these first one hundred days have been difficult, progress has been made and improvements can be seen. After Commissioner Lane answered several questions from the attendees, FCRW District Director Melanie Grammar announced to all who can vote in the upcoming City of Bonham election and are interested in knowing where the City of Bonham electoral candidates stand, to be sure to attend the non-partisan debate being hosted by
the Texas Republican Party at the Holiday Inn Express Thursday, April 15, 2021. The event will be broadcast LIVE on KFYN 1420 & 95.7 FM “The Warrior” for those who want to hear what the candidates have to say from their home. FCRW President Rosemary Clemons then announced Judge Laurie Blake was the winner of the silent auction item, a Nestles Toll House Death by Chocolate Bundt Cake, and the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.

Oakwood Cemetery News
By Deidra Jackson
The Oakwood Cemetery Association in Honey Grove held its annual meeting on March 15 in the Local History Room of the Honey Grove Library and Learning Center. Three of our longtime members, Harold Roberts, Johnnie Smith, and Rosa Bowmer, stepped down this year and were honored at the meeting. The following new board members were elected: Courtney Hevron, Michael Blair, and Scottie Bryant. Our annual newsletter has been mailed with news from the past year. Mowing season has begun at Oakwood making spring a very busy time of the year. Work has been completed on one of the north corners of the cemetery to widen the current road. We were pleased to receive memorial donations for Barbara Seale Diedrick and Kerbow Kilgore.

Yes, it is time to pass the reins of operating the Bonham Visitor Center and being the Director of Tourism to a younger person with new ideas and enthusiasm. I started working in Tourism with the opening of the Sam Rayburn House in 1975. I was the chairman of the volunteers, which basically consisted of scheduling the volunteer guides of which we had about 100. When the volunteers were no longer working I started helping at Fort Inglish and eventually became the President of the Board of Directors. In 1986 I was asked to serve on the Tourism
Advisory Board of the City of Bonham. At that time Mildred Welch was Chairman of that board. In a few years she retired and I became the Chair and head of event planning. Along with many volunteers we have planned and produced the Bois ‘D Arc Festival, Boots Bustles and Buckboards Festival, Heritage Day, Quilt Hop, Autumn In Bonham Bike Ride, Bug Tussle Trek, Hwy. 82 Yard Sale, Junk In The Trunk, and the last few years helped with the celebration of Black History. Since 2010 the City of Bonham has operated an office in the Bon-
ham Visitor Information Center. City events are being produced from that location. It has been a great deal of fun working with events, being a step on guide for Bus Tours, meeting visitors to Bonham and telling them all about our wonderful town as they looked at the exhibits in the Visitor Center. I know that I will miss it, but I am also looking forward to the new events and activities that the new Director of Tourism will plan for us. Thanks for the opportunity to serve Bonham and all the good times. God Bless you all. Emily Porter

Thank a4/13/21 Lineman on April 12th America’s electric cooperatives have designated the second Monday of April as National Lineman Appreciation Day. So on April 12 this year, Fannin County Electric Cooperative will honor the dedicated people who often work in challenging conditions to keep the lights on. Connecting a new member, restoring power after inclement weather and keeping your lights on is all in a day’s work for our hardworking line crews. They go through long hours of field training and classroom work to understand how our electrical delivery system works so that when there is a problem, they’ll know how to fix it. Fixing outages often means going out in tough conditions, often at odd hours, to tackle potentially dangerous problems to keep our community powered. Their dedication and sacrifice should be celebrated and appreciated. To mark Lineman Appreciation Day, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association in 2015 unanimously adopted this resolution: “Whereas linemen leave their families and put their lives on the line every day to keep the power on; Whereas linemen work 365 days a year under dangerous conditions to build, maintain and repair the electric infrastructure; Whereas linemen are the first responders of the electric cooperative family, getting power back on and making things safe for all after storms and accidents, and; Whereas there would be no electric cooperatives without the brave men and women who comprise our corps of linemen; “Therefore be it resolved that NRECA recognize the second Monday of April of each year as National Lineman Appreciation Day … to recognize the contributions of these valuable men and women to America’s electric cooperatives.” Co-ops everywhere proudly acknowledge all electric linemen for the services they perform around the clock in dangerous conditions to keep power flowing and protect the public’s safety. We invite our members to take a moment and thank a lineman for the important work they do. You can use the hashtag #ThankALineman to show your support on social media, or even better, tell the next lineman you see how grateful you are for the men and women who power our lives.

Equine herpes virus confirmed in North Texas horse
By Jennifer Whitlock- Field Editor, Texas Farm Bureau In late March, Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) confirmed a case of equine herpes myeloencephalopathy (EHM) was found in a North Texas quarter horse, the first positive detection of the disease in Texas this year. The disease is caused by equine herpes virus (EHV-1), which causes four syndromes in horses, according to Hewitt veterinarian and longtime Texas Farm Bureau Radio Network host Dr. Bob Judd. “It can cause abortion, respiratory disease, neonatal infection or neurologic disease,” he said. “Although there are vaccines to prevent the other forms of the disease—the respiratory illness, neonatal disease and abortion—there is currently no vaccine available to prevent neurologic disease. So, it’s a
real serious problem.” Neurologic signs appear in horses because of damage to blood vessels in the brain and spinal cord, TAHC data show.

higher-than-normal demand as people prepare traditional recipes and dye eggs for Easter egg hunts. “Prices are going up a little, but it’s just that part of the season,” he said. The March report by Egg Industry Center at Iowa State University showed retail prices for January 2021 were relatively the same as a year ago, around $1.46 per dozen. During 2020, prices went down during February before rising to $1.52 per dozen in March and peaking at $2.02 in April. Coufal expects a similar trend and for prices to fall some after the holiday. Egg-laying hen populations are normal and that any recent egg shortages were driven by logistical disruptions or panic buying, he said. Temporary shortages such as panic buying in March 2020 amid COVID-19 uncertainty and recent delays of moving eggs from farms to grocery stores during Winter Storm Uri were only temporary. “There have been no disease outbreaks, no hatching problems and no shortage of hens,” Coufal said. “Chickens only lay one egg per day, and so if normalcy is disrupted and de-

and owners should call their veterinarian immediately if that occurs, he said. “This is a reportable disease, which not all equine neurological diseases are reportable,” Judd said. “But this particular disease is scary because there’s no way to prevent it, so horse owners and their veterinarians should definitely report this to TAHC if it’s confirmed. Especially if they’ve been at an event, which is typically the place where a lot of these horses will break out with this disease.” TAHC has more information on EHM available on its website. Equine enthusiasts are also encouraged to stay up-todate on equine disease events through the Equine Disease Communication Center (EDCC). Any subsequent Texas EHM cases will be posted there.

Clinical signs of EHM include fever of 102°F or greater, nasal discharge, lack of coordination, hindquarter weakness, leaning or resting against walls or fences to maintain balance, lethargy, urine leakage, head tilt, diminished tail tone and penile paralysis. “Horses with neurological symptoms may also ‘dog sit,’ where they go down and can’t get their rear legs back up,” Judd said. “Anywhere from 30 to 50 percent of horses that contract it will not survive. The only treatment is supportive care with fluids and sometimes antiinflammatories. But there is no specific treatment protocol
for this virus, so that makes it very difficult to treat.” After the infected Parker County quarter horse showed signs consistent with EHM, the premises were quarantined, and biosecurity measures were enacted. TAHC Executive Director Dr. Andy Schwartz said the animal had not recently attended any events and did not have direct contact with horses from other properties. EHM is only spread through direct horse-to-horse contact, short-distance aerosol (such as in particles blown from an infected horse’s nostrils) or contaminated tack, so the disease’s transmission risk is fairly low. If there is concern a horse has been exposed to EHM, Judd advised owners to take their horse’s temperature twice daily. Any temperature over 101.5°F is cause for concern,

mand doubles overnight it can appear that there’s an issue.” The influx of backyard birds purchased for at-home egg production won’t factor into supply and demand this year either, Coufal said. The number of backyard producers impacts a miniscule piece of the egg market. CENTRAL Soil moisture conditions were deteriorating somewhat following another generally dry and very windy week. Only trace rainfall amounts were received. Warmer temperatures were in the forecast. Winter wheat was developing well; some fields reached the flag leaf stage. Preemergent herbicide applications continued for wheat. Early planted wheat fields were expected to start heading soon. Oat fields were recovering somewhat from the freeze, but stand losses were evident. Corn planting was mostly complete, and planted acres were up. Nights were cool, keeping growers from getting into sorghum planting. Sorghum seed sales were up, and expectations were for more planted acres than last year. There was some urgency among producers to have all sorghum plantings completed before month’s end to avoid insect pest problems later during the year. Cotton acres may decline despite prices being up. Pastures were greening up, and winter forages put on more growth. Livestock were in excellent shape. NORTH Topsoil moisture ranged from short to adequate. Temperatures were cooler. Counties reported trace amount to half an inch of rain. Ryegrass pastures sprang to life. Bermuda and Bahia grasses started to emerge from dormancy. Winter wheat looked excellent. Corn planting started. Producers in some areas were unable to plant due to wetter soil moisture conditions. Livestock were in good condition. Spring-born calves were doing well. Hay supplementation continued but was slowing down due to forage growth. Pasture conditions were greening up.

A Little Mud on the Tires A Polk County Game Warden received a call from dispatch regarding individuals loading up a deer. A Polk County deputy was in the area and assisted the warden in patrolling the area based on the original call. An ATV drove by on a public roadway and the deputy initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the ATV fled, and a pursuit ensued. The ATV turned and went off-road on muddy terrain, so the warden followed the pursuit in four-wheel drive until the path ended and then gave pursuit on foot. The warden guided the deputy to where he expected the ATV to return. The deputy apprehended the subject and the ATV which was discovered to be stolen. In a Slough of Trouble A Trinity County Game Warden and a K9 Warden were investigating a slough in the national forest that was suspected to be baited with corn. The Wardens found fresh corn in the water and other evidence of baiting down a trail, including the tear-off top to a corn bag and spilled corn. The next day before daylight, wardens sat nearby listening for shots in the slough and not long after
sunrise, hunters began shooting in the slough. The Wardens located two hunters who were approximately 20 yards from the corn in the water. After a short interview, the hunters admitted to hunting over bait and putting the corn out a few days before. Citations included place bait to attract, hunt over bait, possession of lead shot and some tagging violations for deer from earlier in the season. Five wood ducks were also seized and civil restitution for each duck is pending.
Nothing to Stand On An Orange County Game Warden was traveling along the Tony Housman Wildlife Management Area (WMA) when he observed a vehicle driving along the right-of-way in the construction zone that appeared to have a shotgun on the dashboard. The warden was able to exit the interstate at the state line and make his way back along the right-of-way to investigate. As he approached the vehicle, he observed a male subject carrying a shotgun coming from the woods, which is a closed area of the Tony Housman WMA. During the contact, the subject claimed that he was hunting hogs and was looking for a stand that his friend had erected next to the interstate. The warden found the stand erected on the WMA property within just a few feet of the interstate. The subject was issued citations for no annual public hunting permit and no hunting license. Two wardens followed up with the friend who had illegally placed the stand in the WMA originally. That subject confessed to

placing the stand in the closed area of the WMA and was issued a citation as well. Cases are pending. Check Please! A Gregg County Game Warden received a call from the White Oak PD regarding an illegal dumping complaint at a local restaurant. The restaurant owner reported numerous rancid bags of trash, accompanied by a decaying white-tailed doe carcass missing only its backstraps, piled around their business and dumpster. Information regarding the individual’s identity was gathered and it matched an individual that the game warden was already investigating on unrelated hunting violations. The warden and local officers responded to the subject’s residence where he and fellow tenants advised they had deemed the spoiled doe inedible via damages from a vehicle vs. deer incident. An impromptu necropsy suggested otherwise, prompting a full confession of how the doe was shot out of season and allowed to waste. During that interview, an additional confession was also collected regarding the warden’s original hunting investigation. That individual confirmed the illegal harvest of two other bucks found with antlers entangled from sparring along a late-night roadway. Exhausted and struggling to flee danger, both deer were fatally stabbed by the individual. Civil restitution and multiple subjects were charged. Charges included: Hunt/Possess Deer from Public Roadway, Untagged Deer, Illegal Means and Methods, Waste of Game, Hunt During Closed Season, Exceed Bag Limit, No Archery Stamp, and No Harvest Log. Additional charges are pending investigation.

AUBREY GENE PRICE
Bonham- Graveside services for Aubrey Gene Price, Jr., age 54, of Bailey, TX were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Arledge Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Cody Nelson officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Clay Price, Jason Lively, AJ Price, Paul Wallace, Kyle Wallace, and Phillip Simpson. Aubrey Gene Price, Jr. was born on April 3, 1967 in Carrollton, TX to Aubrey Gene Price, Sr., and Susan Maxine (Banks) Price. He
JOHN WILSON HILLIARD
On April 3, 2021 a private family service was held for John Wilson Hilliard,”Papaw Johnie” who passed away in his sleep on Good Friday Apr 2 at his home. God blessed him with a long life of 85 years and 15 days south of Dodd City. Andy Weeks and Rickey Granstaff officiated the service that proclaimed the Easter message. Afterwards the family proceeded to the Dodd City cemetery following the casket in his Red Dodge pickup and buried him beside the love of his life Nelda. Some might wonder why the family conducted the service in this manner as it is a little unconventional by today’s standards. However not so many years past this was how most funerals were conducted. Johnie repeated a story many times his dad had told him about how his grandparents, Jim & Sallie Hilliard’s funerals were held on the front porch at “the old home place.” He expressed that he thought it was a good way so we wanted to do that type of “old fashion service” for Johnie. He would say “ I want my toes pointed up when I leave this place” and that he did! Johnie came to know the Lord along with his sister Teen, during a revival in the Fall of 1949 with Rev. Williams and was baptized in the “UNDER THE FLOOR” baptistery at the First Baptist Church-DC. On Good Friday he was immediately face to face with his Lord and Savior in a pain free eternity. In March 2018 after the “run-in” with the cow, and while being treated for this it was discovered that his melanoma cancer had spread to several places. He chose not to take chemo and the Doc gave him 6 months to live! Of course, he had to prove the Doc wrong! Johnie was born Mar. 18, 1936 at the family home on Hilliard Road (CR3015) south of Dodd City to James Wilson “Willis” & Lillie Dale Knowles Hilliard who proceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by the following: wife of 52 years, Nelda Louise Darling Hilliard better known as “Memaw” who passed on Aug. 9, 2009. His grandparents; James “Jim” Buchanon & Sarah Elizabeth Hilliard Hilliard from Old Fort, Polk Co, TN who had moved to DC, TX in 1894; his mother’s parents were James Edward/Mattie Dearman Knowles born in Fannin Co. TX; brother JB Hilliard/Clara, daug-Karen Land; sister Araminta “Teen”/husband J Lee, son-Chris Butler; Alex Hilliard & Nikki Cantrell. He is survived by children: Craig Hilliard, Debra/Rickey Granstaff, Sherri/Andy Weeks; Grandchildren: Dana Koester, Cindy/Justin Ferguson, Dillon/Candace Weeks, John/Tammy Granstaff, Daniel Weeks/Suzie Connor; Great GC: EmilyKatie Ferguson, Lainey-Gavin Granstaff, Abby-AustinAddison Weeks, Graice Koester, Emaree Weeks; Pat/Mary Hilliard, Laura Butler Cantrell, Bridget Doyle Butler, Julie/ Brad Tutle; Will Brown who with men above helped carry the casket; and a host of friends in TX, MS, LA & CA who have prayed for and supported us. Johnie married Nelda on March 9, 1957. They lived in Bonham for a year and moved to Dodd City for 32 years before they built their home 2.5 miles south of DC in 1979. He enjoyed family holidays, working his cattle, running his business and working the land. He was the type who liked to work! When Nelda passed he said “Just let me work till I die!” and he almost made it! He started Hilliard Farm Equipment in 1968 and it was open until this year. Johnie served his community in many ways: in 1950 the men and Johnie along with some other teenagers of First Baptist Church-DC tore down the Old English School and used the lumber for the current SS rooms. He was a member of the church for over 70 years and served as an elder; 1964-1979 sec of School Board; 1957-1979 sec of City Council; Charter Member of the DC Lions Club 1979 until it closed, served on the Volunteer Fire Dept for many years; served on the DC Cemetery board for many years until his death. He was always proud when told of how he and Johnny Mills’ along with Mrs. Morris and a few more helped save the school. He and Johnny were the only two on the DC School Board that voted to keep the school at Dodd City. Even though it was NOT popular with most folks at the time, they worked hard as baord member to get the truth out to the people who had been given incorrect facts by the administion and local tax official. They went against the majority and fought to keep Dodd City School from consoldiating with Bonham in 1969. As of now FIVE generations of Hilliard’s have attended the Dodd City School.

Destiny’s Dominating w/Dragons: Ector’s Whitburn amongst top hitters this season after Covid-truncated ‘20

Story & Photos By Rich Hilliard COVID-19 cut short what
looked en route to being an impressive college softball debut for Destiny Whitburn. When play was halted in mid March last year due to the global pandemic, the 2019 Ector alumna ranked amongst the best hitters in Region XIV: 37 runs batted in (third), eight
home runs (fourth) and eighth in slugging percentage (.851) and total bases (63). She also had a .432 batting average, through 24 games. Given a chance to play a longer season, Whitburn has resumed the torrid start to her collegiate career -- and been even better. Through April 4, the out-

Her .423 batting average also placed her 10th, through 34 games. “Destiny has been huge for us all season at the plate,” said Paris Junior College softball manager Shelby Shelton. “She is a difference maker for us. of talent. “I am very proud of the work she has put in and I feel like she continues to get better and better as we go,” said Shelton. “Her offensive stats prove she is one of the best hitters in the country right now. “She has played a huge role in the success our team has had so far this year.” The success for Whitburn comes after a decorated four-
year multiple-sport career at Class 1A Ector. As a junior, her pitching and bat in 2018 helped the Lady Eagles reach the 1A state championship softball game for the first time.
