The

MONTREAL 2012 VENUE GUIDE

Note from the Publisher

The 2012 Montreal Venue Guide and You

O

ur goal remains unchanged: to facilitate your job by providing up-to-date information on Montreal venues. From hotels and restaurants to multi-functional spaces, we collate it all in one comprehensive and convenient publication. Our guide enables you to quickly zero in on venues that meet your basic requirements and from that base, to pursue additional information elsewhere. As soon as you know that you are organizing an event, the first question is where to hold it. Although numerous restrictions factor into this equation, including budget and the number of participants, one thing is certain: you need a venue. Selecting the right one will not only save you money but can actually set the tone for your entire event. The Montreal Venue Guide offers a wide selection of venues, giving you a leg up on a successful event. Other points to consider are location and demo-

graphics. Are you looking for a downtown venue suited to younger participants, or one outside the downtown core for a more varied age group? This is the kind of information contained in our 2012 guide, designed to give you a quick head start, and to eliminate the need for hours of copious and not necessarily relevant research on the Internet. In the Montreal Venue Guide, we have completed that first triage for you, so that you can go straight to targeted information for your needs. We’ve also added a selection of industry suppliers. For the most part, these are suppliers that we know or have used over the course of several years. While not a guarantee, we firmly believe that those listed will deliver on the services they offer. If not, please let us know and we’ll help you get satisfaction.

with you. Also, in the course of organizing your events, why not contact some of Montreal’s event management schools and hire an intern to assist you? You’ll find, as we have at The Planner, that there are numerous schools that offer excellent programs. All the interns we’ve had the opportunity to work with have been eager to learn, friendly and very helpful.

In closing, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. Most of the venues and suppliers listed will be happy to brainstorm and try new ideas

Michel Geoffroy, CMM Publisher The Planner – Le Planificateur

One last point: try, whenever possible to buy from local suppliers. You’ll not only be greener but you’ll also benefit the local economy. Both aspects are beneficial to you, to us and to our future. As always, we value your feedback. If you have ideas or suggestions on how we can improve the venue guide, we’d love to hear from you.
