Welcome to
the AUGUST 2014 edition
I am Summer, come to lure you away from your computer... come dance on my fresh grass, dig your toes into my beaches. - Oriana Green As I write this the school term is close to an end and thankfully summer seems to be with us. While these magazines are being printed I will be heading off with a large group of friends for a weekend in the Peak District, staying in a Youth Hostel. Several outdoor pursuits are planned including a bit of walking, sightseeing and swimming in an outdoor pool as well as sometime just enjoying the summer so fingers crossed for lots of sunshine. Last month I mentioned how busy the end of term would be for me, with the many extra demands on my time as well as getting these magazines to print. A local business sensing that it could also be a stressful time for me, kindly invited me into their salon for a reflexology session. Julie at Scandalo in Tickhill, turned out to be an accomplished reflexologist, and I enjoyed a relaxing hour, which was not only a stress reliever but also gave me an insight into aspects of my health to be mindful of. Thank you very much to Julie and the team at Scandalo, I can thoroughly recommend booking in for your own reflexology experience. The September issues will be delivered to you late August. If you would like to have something included in this, please make sure details are with me by Friday 1st August. No, this isn’t a misprint – it really is the earliest deadline ever! Much the same as the last couple of summers I would like to take a couple of weeks off during August, while my children are enjoying their school holidays, so the closing date has been set very early so that I can get the magazines to print and then enjoy some relaxation time. Apologies if this does cause you any inconvenience normal midmonth closing dates will be resumed in September!
Enjoy August and I will be back in a months’ time with your September magazine!
Best wishes, Paula x

Acoustic Music Nights These have been held on the second & last Tuesday of each month, at the Scarbrough Arms, Tickhill since Spring 2005. On the 24th June the room was filled to capacity with about sixteen musicians, as well as those who just came to listen. There was a diverse range of music which included classical, traditional, sixties, folk, country and blues sung & played on acoustic guitar, keyboard, wind instruments, fiddle, ukulele & harmonica – perhaps I missed something! The atmosphere was great and everyone enjoyed a good time and a good laugh, although respect and quiet is always shown to anyone who is performing. All abilities are welcome and these music evenings have now proved to be successful for nearly a decade. Numbers attending obviously vary as not everyone is available on the night. However new musicians keep turning up as well as regulars and visitors who have been before over the last nine years.

DONCASTER MOVIE MAKERS
One of the original aims of the WI movement was education, and we always try to continue this vision in our regular meetings. Barbara Meyer, our speaker on Wednesday 25th June most certainly fulfilled this aim.
Doncaster Movie Makers is a group of amateur filmmakers who enjoy creating a wide variety of productions including documentary, drama, comedy and experimental films. We have a full programme of events including teaching evenings, lectures, film nights and competitions. We also make films which involve several club members and have made promotional films for other organisations. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and there are ample opportunities for learning and sharing your film making skills. So if you like taking film clips on your phone, ipad or camcorder, but don’t really know how to go about making them more viewable and interesting, come and see what we do.
To raise awareness and funds for Big Cats and the conservation work around them, Barbara uses her skills as a wildlife photographer; her talk was illustrated by her excellent photographs of the whole range of big cats, both in the wild and in zoos. Barbara is often to be found at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park where she has made friends with Vladimir, the tiger as well as the leopards and lions. She has recently published a book “Against All Odds” about the Amur leopards, the rarest big cat species, which also helps her raise funds for the work in the natural habitat of endangered big cat species. We can thoroughly recommend her to any other group looking for good speakers. She can be found at www.photography4bigcats.co.uk. Because so many of us will be away, we have decided not to meet in July, but we’ll be back in full swing on Wednesday 27th August. We look forward to your joining us, either as a member for the whole year or as a guest at individual meetings. Please contact our President, Joanna Phillips on 07747443374 for more information, or turn up on the last Wednesday of every month, at the Community Centre, Vicar Lane, Misson, where you will be very welcome. We always make sure that we have time for a chat and our excellent catering team provides an endless supply of refreshments, which includes home-made cake. T 8

Retired? If you retired recently, or not so recently, and you haven’t heard of Doncaster U3A then read on. Doncaster University of the Third Age (U3A) offers a wide variety of groups who meet regularly to learn and socialise. There are over thirty groups with more starting all the time. For example, there is Travel and Theatre, French, Coffee Quiz, Writers, Criminology, Striders, Bridge and History, to list a sample. See the Philosophy group, pictured above in action! Members bring their hobbies or pastimes to the organisation and offer to share them with others who either have the same interest or would like to learn more. Alternatively members can join one or more existing groups to try something new or revive an old hobby. There is a monthly General Meeting with a Guest Speaker, giving you an opportunity to sit back and listen. “I heard about U3A through a friend and have loved it since” Anne. “I like being involved with other people and I have been able to learn new things” David. “I missed working and U3A has given me opportunities to socialise as well as keep my brain active” Sheila. If you would like to know more about Doncaster U3A, further information can be obtained from the Membership Secretary on 01302 701395 or the Doncaster U3A website www.u3asites.org.uk/doncaster T TO ADVERTISE CALL 01302 744278 | www.facebook.com/todaymags

Dr Lindley, one of Britain’s most popular concert organists, has given similar recitals on TOCCATA TUESDAYS over the last three summers and has visited some of the finest churches in and around Doncaster and raised over £6,000 for Doncaster Choral Society funds.
Saturday August 9 at 6.30pm in St Nicholas Church, Bawtry
Dr Lindley says: I am really thrilled, once again, to be able to give a further series of concerts in support of the great work undertaken each season by the enthusiastic and committed members of Doncaster Choral Society. The Doncaster Choir is one of the jewels in Yorkshire’s musical crown and it is a real pleasure, as well as a privilege, to be able to work with these wonderful singers on a regular basis in rehearsal and concert. CHARITY TRACTOR EVENT A SUCCESS One hundred and sixteen tractors: all ages, makes, shapes and sizes: took to the roads in the 2014 annual Tuxford Road Run, held in memory of Michael Ducksbury. Besides an excellent day out for the drivers, Weston Park Cancer Charity will benefit from the proceeds. Aiming to raise £5 000 from this, the event’s 10th Anniversary, the final total was a huge £5 800! This came from entry fees, sponsorship, donations, roadside collections, a raffle and auction, sale of photographs and refreshments.
YBS Agency Cheque Presentation at Jones & Co Solicitors, Bawtry Jones & Co Solicitors have recently launched a Yorkshire Building Society Agency at their office in Bawtry.
The Ducksbury family wish to thank businesses in and around Tuxford for their donations and support. They also wanted to thank all who willingly gave their time and assistance on the day. “Their help made this event a resounding success”, said a family spokesperson. “Our sincere thanks go out to everyone involved.” A cheque is to be presented to the Weston Park Charity in the near future. T
During the launch clients and customers were asked to vote for one of three selected local charities, namely Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust - St. John's Hospice, Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and The Mayflower Animal Sanctuary, Bawtry. The charity that came out with the most votes was Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust - St. John's Hospice who received a cheque for £500, The Mayflower Animal Sanctuary received £300 and Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice received £200. The presentation was made by Office Manager, Philip Armstrong with Adam Bennett representing the Yorkshire Building Society. Nearly 2/3 of workers commute by car which over an average week can add up to a significant number of hours, increasing the risk of musculoskeletal problems like back and neck pain. Workplace assessments are now more common with an increased awareness of work station ergonomics. However, the correct set up in a car can also have huge health benefits in terms of improving posture and minimising risks of aches and pains. Both people and cars come in all different shapes and sizes so it will take a little time to achieve a ‘best fit’. Work through the following checks to optimise your position in your car… Raise the seat as high as is comfortable to ensure maximum vision of the road.
Call on 01302 511755 or email info@blizardphysiotherapy.co.uk Blizard Physiotherapy Limited, Bircotes DN11 8DE
Move the seat forwards until you can fully depress the pedals whilst maintaining slightly flexed knees. Have the angle of the back rest at about 20 degrees from vertical – you should have contact with the seat up to shoulder height whilst being able to hold the steering wheel with slightly flexed elbows. Check the lumbar support ‘fits’ your spinal shape. The head rest should be at a height just above eye level sitting about 2-3cm from the back of the head (this minimises the risk of injury in the event of a collision) Your hands should be positioned at ‘10 and 2’ with both hands in place for spinal and muscular balance. Remember our bodies are designed to move - you should aim to break for a stretch and a stroll every 2 hours.

A Postcard from
Dubai
For the third time this year I am returning somewhere a after a gap of over twenty years and of the three destinations nowhere will show such a significant change as that of Dubai. Whereas the first time around my stay at the Jumeriah Beach was to an extent a trip to an upcoming destination, this time around I am visiting a location that is certainly one of the most popular locations amongst our customers at Bliss Travel This time around I am travelling with over 200 travel industry professionals for an industry get together and with it an opportunity to sample Dubai hospitality and take a look at what all the fuss is about. Even our arrival late in the evening tells how things have changed. Flights from Emirates Airlines, Virgin and British Airways all land with a matter of minutes of each other and offer a sign of how demand for the destination has grown exponentially over recent years. And with a new airport underway there will be an even greater concentration of aircraft heading for Dubai in the years to come. It’s only a twenty minute taxi journey from the airport to our home for the next few days at the Conrad Hotel in the business district, not ideal for the delights of either downtown or the Palm but good value if you are willing to use the services of the impressive monorail that sits adjacent to the hotel. While others head for the golf course or the Spa I decide to take the tour of old Dubai in favour of another option, which is an afternoon at the waterpark at the world renown Atlantis Hotel. Although 20

Report from
Lee Jackson of Bliss Travel the weather is unseasonally cool, only early thirties! I ask myself why I am boarding a tour bus instead of throwing myself into clear blue water. That said after 20 minutes I am satisfied that the trip is a good decision especially as it includes Dubai new and old and through our guide we get a very good summary of this Emirates development and its place in the world. Our visit to the museum in old Dubai, though not high on the must visit list of many UK visitors, proves a good way to get acquainted with how a simple fishing village by a creek in the Middle East became one of the world’s biggest tourism draws. As the discovery of oil transformed the wealth of the region and provided the first infrastructure of the city the vision of the rulers was to create a destination that would create a prosperity that could outlive the oil supply. This vision also included an acceptance that Dubai could not compete with the cultural, architectural and scenic draw of neighbouring destinations, be that Egypt, Mauritius or India. Instead Dubai would need to provide a unique visitor attraction where the destination became a bi word for supreme quality and its attractions truly in a league of their own. A gap of 20 years is a great way to witness this vision come to life. The giant wave that is the new Jumeirah Hotel stands in replacement of my original accommodation, and an
entire skyline, including the Burj Kalifa, the world’s tallest tower, stands in the place of what was almost nothing at all. Add to this not one but two copies of the Chrysler building, the world’s largest shopping mall and of course the purpose built Palm that extends out into the Arabian Gulf and the magnificence of Dubai is simply jaw dropping. Back in the old town following the visit to the museum we wander into the souk and I stock up on Saffron and spices after haggling my way down to a price that seems half way to a reasonable deal. We cross the creek, witness the traditional sailing vessels and wander the “gold” souk but I am left in no doubt that there are other destinations in the Arabic world where these activities can be better experienced and that the best of Dubai is certainly about what has been created in the past decade.... Back in downtown Dubai the following day we enjoy dinner at “The Address” with a fantastic early evening view of the water fountain show at the base of the Burj Kalifa and a stroll around the restaurants of downtown Dubai....

Appeal for Volunteers Rain could not dampen spirits at Bawtry’s Annual Sports Day and Gala last month as around 600 people enjoyed all that was on offer. The event at Bawtry’s Memorial Sports Ground organised by a team of volunteers led by Bawtry Action for Recreation and Sport (BARS) provided sporting action, stalls, refreshments and music for young and old alike and is the only community event which Bawtry has. Around £1500 was raised during the course of the day which helps BARS to provide sporting and recreational facilities in Bawtry including all the play equipment at Wharf Street Recreation Ground. This is only possible due to the hard work by the organising committee and volunteers on the day but several members of the Organising Committee are to stand down after being involved in the running of the event since BARS first revived it to celebrate the Millennium in 2001 and new volunteers are required to keep Bawtry Sports Day alive. BARS Chairman, Matthew Brearley said, “I would like to thank all those involved in organising Sports Day over the past 13 years for all their hard work and dedication in providing a fun day out for the Bawtry Community. I hope more volunteers will come forward so that Sports Day can continue.” Anyone who wishes to be involved in the organisation of Sports Day should contact Matthew Brearley on 01302 710944 or BARS Secretary Kerry Haslam on 01302 714001. LOCAL BUSINESSES GET ON THEIR BIKES! There wasn’t a hill to be seen and the view wasn’t quite as breathtaking as the rolling Yorkshire Dales, but spirit and competitiveness was aplenty when teams of local businesses took to their static bikes to raise money for local cancer charity, Aurora, in Bonjour Bawtry. Congratulations go to Walsh West Commercial Risks Ltd who won on Saturday and Ziniz and The Cycle Works who were Sunday’s winners. It was lovely to see so many people take part or visit to show their support. We’re also at wishing the team at Robinsons of Bawtry lots of luck as they have been shortlisted in the Premium Fashion Independent of the Year category in the prestigious Drapers Independent Awards 2014. Winners will be announced at a special lunchtime ceremony taking place at The Brewery in London in September. Fingers crossed! Just a quick reminder too about one of our most popular annual events – The Visit Bawtry Charity Polo Cup – which takes place on Sunday 17th August at the Vale of York Polo Club, Misson. Bring your picnics, your friends and your family for a great day out as Bawtry businesses battle it out to claim the coveted trophy! Rebecca Dickenson, chair of Bawtry Retail Association and director of The Vanilla Rooms, has been taking polo lessons and is hoping to be leading her team out on to the field! And finally, it was with great delight that art lovers from near and far visited award winning artist Kerry Darlington at Limited 2 Art last month. It was one of only 5 galleries that she will visit across the UK this year. Her work can be viewed at the gallery. Bawtry Courtyard Farmers Market will take place on 2nd, 16th and 30th August 9 am – 3 pm. And don’t forget our new website www.visitbawtry.com which has lots of useful information about Bawtry Retail Association, shops and businesses and our events. T

Garden View
Native but Nice! With a huge array of colourful plants available from garden centres, expertly sourced from around the globe, we are continuously spoiled when it comes to choosing new plants for our garden. Fabulous flowers and tropical foliage can bring an incredibly lush feel to a garden, but don’t overlook the natural beauty of our native plants just because they’re right outside your door. The most obvious British wonders are the beautiful old Oak trees, flowering cherries and mixed hedgerows, even the invasive cow parsley (Anthriscus sylvestris) looks great en-masse in spring, but when it comes to plants deemed ‘garden worthy’, consider the traditional (and modern) use of tightly clipped Yew, Holly and Box which has been favoured for generations. Beech (Fagus) is another popular hedging variety, often selected for its beautiful autumn and winter colour and again, it’s one of our natives! Many of the plants native to the UK flower in spring, such as the sweetly but delicately scented primroses. Then there are the triking red poppies which adorn the fields midway through the year. Wild, hardy Geraniums grow in the most unlikely places and are very happy naturalised in grasses, proudly showing off their ‘Chelsea purple’ flowers. 34
BAWTRY TODAY
The stunning blooms of Pulsatilla vulgaris (pasque flower) are perfectly displayed over foamy foliage and are low growing and very well behaved (perfect for the modern gardener). Their hairy seed heads also look fun long after the flowers have faded. May and June is showtime for the foxgloves whose tall slender stems carry beautiful purple and white spires of flowers which will seed prolifically and brighten a dull corner. Take care if you have small children though as foxgloves are poisonous if ingested. The Asian moth orchids (Phalaenopsis) are popular houseplants, but our wild orchid is a plant to treasure. Often found in woodland settings, the purple flowers lurk around on the cool and shady forest floor. For a similar native, more easily available to buy and worth planting this month, look for Colchicums or naked ladies … so called as they produce their flowers well before the leaves appear. The bulbs are quite expensive individually, but quickly bulk up if happy, and will very soon provide you with a flower that will become an interesting talking point. Commonly known as the Autumn Crocus, it does seem strange to see it in flower in September, but it has to be one of my favourite native bulbs.
Using native plants can also mean a higher rate of success, even in our variable climate, so if your fingers are not so green, it’s harder to kill these plants they’re born survivors!
Until next time, happy gardening ,
Lee .

Coveting The Yellow Jersey I found it very exciting to stand on the side of the road in Ripon and watch the Tour de France zoom by – we’d waited several hours for them and they didn’t disappoint. We shouted and cheered as the peloton flew passed us; even though it only took about 30 seconds from when the riders came into sight until the last back wheel disappeared round the corner at the end of the road. We then had to grab our bags, etc and rush to the city centre in order to watch the riders cross the finish line in Harrogate a few minutes later, on the big screen Ripon council had put up. However, as all us spectators rushed down the same road the bikes had just gone by on, a lone competitor came cycling past, several minutes behind the rest, obviously struggling. He got few cheers, little applause, in fact he was hardly noticed. Yet, that
man had cycled the same 100 miles m and up the same hills as the other h her 197 riders and had put in the same a ame hundreds of gruelling hours training aaining in all weathers just so as to be able a to start Le Tour. If anything, he deserved sserved more praise than the others. Why is it that those who find life easier get more praise and ives recognition than those whose lives demand greater commitment and stamina just to keep going?? Surely, there must be a way of acknowledging those who endure more pain, more isolation, more anonymity and yet keep plodding on. As usual, this is not a new thought or phenomenon but one that Jesus recognised 2,000 years ago when he said, that when considering heaven, “the first shall be last and the last shall be first”.
So So, if life is a struggle and you find it hard to keep going day after day participating in the race that is the Christian life – take heart! You might well find yourself wearing that yellow jersey after all. Every blessing Simon Carter Bawtry Evangelical Church T

community This year is flying by and so much is happening here at the Sanctuary. Our annual dog show took place on 6th July and what a terrific day it was. The weather was so kind to us and the sun shone all day. Everyone had so much fun showing off their beloved pets. Having picnics and enjoying the BBQ . A very big thank you to people that manned stalls and baked cakes. Also everyone that came along to join in the fun. It was a brilliant fund raising day and it was so moving to see lots of dogs that we had re homed looking happy and healthy, it makes all our hard work worthwhile . Also a big thanks to some new volunteers particularly Heather who has had Tom bola stalls at a couple of gala’s in Doncaster and Maureen who has helped on street collections. Thank you also for people that take the time to turn up regularly come rain or shine we couldn’t carry on with fund raising without you. I’m not sure if everyone is aware we also have a charity shop on Retford Road, Manton, Worksop which is open for most of the week now thanks to new volunteers. It’s a lovely little shop selling well priced ornaments, jewellery, gifts and much more - it’s a little Aladdin’s cave. If you’re looking for something different why not pop down and take a look.
Getting onto the Sanctuary now, our new building work is coming along wonderfully and we are all getting excited about our new reception after having such a small space to work in previously this looks like the prince of facilities. We will soon be planning where to
Finding a forever home arrange desks and furniture not to mention the odd resident dog or two so we are all getting rather giddy. We must apologise for the inconvenience our building work has created it seems as though we have been living on a building site for ever. However when you are a charity you have to earn the money before you can spend it, and it takes time, but we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel, thank goodness. We have lots of lovely dogs and cats here that all need loving homes and a second chance, so please if you are looking for that special pet to share your life please come along to speak to us we will give you all the help you need. Whether you are interested in fostering one of our older dogs or just want a chat about which dog or cat would be suitable we are here to help. Everyone have a great summer but please don’t leave your most treasured best friend in a hot car or without water on sunny days. Please call us on 01302 711330 and leave a message someone will call you back or 07969 203206. We will look forward to seeing you soon.
Come along and s oday. see uT

Sally Female May 2013 6 Year No No Older
My owner died and left me all alone. There was nobody in the family who could take me in and no neighbours to care for me. I felt so unloved. Its no wonder that Im a little grumpy at times !!! Sally loves people but certainly not other cats or dogs. That way she gets all the fuss! She desperately wants to be friends but reads the signals wrong sometimes!! A home where she will be allowed the freedom to chose when she wants fusses would suit her best as she is not a lapcat.

Frank Male May 2014 6 Months Possibly Yes Yes
Frank was rehomed with his sister, Stevie, as a kitten and has been very happy there. Unfortunately their landlord has changed his policy with regard to pets so they have sadly had to return to Mayflower. Frank is the more confident of the pair and is always the one looking for fun (or trouble!!) He is also very affectionate and purrs like a tractor when he finally stops for a cuddle Frank and Stevie are very close and must be rehomed together. Have you room in your hearts and home for this adorable pair?

Newsletter Bawtry Town Council - AUGUST 2014
Gainsborough Road toilets were recently vandalised and defaced again. They have been cleaned up but the council is keeping a watching brief and will consider closing them on health and safety and economic grounds if the damage is repeated. We are still keeping a watch on the progress of the 3D survey carried out by Tesla before any application is lodged for a licence for fracking. We are assured that fracking will not take place underneath Bawtry. We will, however, organise a public meeting about this when more information is made available to the Council. and there will be diversions in operation from Monday 21st July up to 15th August of before if the works are complete. There will also be road closures of up to 3 days on the tree estate and DMBC will issue fliers to inform residents of the exact timing of these closures. Bawtry War Memorial We are awaiting a decision from a site visit and report on the war memorial on South Parade regarding refurbishment and improving access. We are in discussion with the new owners of Bawtry Hall regarding this and possible resiting of the memorial to a safer site. Meeting with Barnby Moor Parish Council Sandy Young attended a meeting with Barnby Moor Parish Council to support them with
their concerns over planning for increased quarrying in the area. This could also potentially cause large vehicle movements through Bawtry to Finningley and we need to make our concerns known to DMBC. We will keep you informed of the results of our efforts. There was also concern over plans for reducing the number of road crossings on the East Coast Line in their area. This will be an ongoing discussion with Network Rail. Bonjour Bawtry On Saturday and Sunday 5th & 6th of July a charity event was held to coincide with the timing of the Tour De France stages in Yorkshire. The event was held on the area presently occupied by the former Morris’s Fruit & Veg Kiosk organised by

Aurora Wellbeing Centres with static cycles. The event was very professionally organised by Peter Bradley from Aurora and his team and was a great success, enjoyed by all the teams and well supported by the people of Bawtry and beyond. We also wish to thank Martyn Attwood of Excel Parking Services Ltd for his help and support of the event. The event was started by our local MP, Rt Hon Caroline Flint and Bawtry Town Mayor Sandy Young with Councillors Walsh and Calzini taking part with their own teams. Many teams from schools and business took part and are still looking for sponsorship. There were 22 teams taking part over the two days and were very competitive. All the teams had very good sponsorship from friends and colleagues and one had already been promised £2000 from a variety of sources. Details can be obtained about sponsorship from Peter on 07538 582434. In conclusion, there is interest from would be new businesses in the premises in Bawtry which have been empty for some time giving hope that the daytime economy in the town will start to improve.

Retford Ramblers will be setting out on their more challenging walks during August. On the 3rd August there is the Twin Valleys of Derbyshire. This 14 miles heads out along the Manifold Valley and returns by the Dove after visiting Thors Cave. Some steep ascents and descents make this quite a challenging walk, ideally suited to more experienced walkers or those wanting to stretch themselves. Later in the month there is the 16 mile Sheffield Round, another tough one.
The Lincolnshire Wolds is the destination on 10th August for a steadier 9 miles at Belchford and 17th August we have 9miles on famous Ilkley Moor. If a Summer Evening Stroll is more your thing then Wednesday 20th August is the date for a leisurely 5 miles around Clayworth.
Non Ramblers members are very welcome to join any walk.

New PRO for Tickhill & District Lions This is my first venture as the new PRO or Public Relations Officer for your local Tickhill and District Lions and I wanted to discuss communication as it seemed an important place to start! I've been having a good long think on this and started by wanting to 'push' the social media side and webpage of our Lions club being one of the younger members, to modernise our approach and so I shall. But then I thought a little harder and realised I was missing something, my Mum brought it to my attention when I told her what I was doing and it really hit home when she quite firmly explained that " I don't do that internet thing! I don't know how to Facebook , I don't even have a mobile phone and I prefer to write a letter thank you!" That reminded me that there will be a good number of the readership of this magazine in exactly that position. So with that in mind I would like to remind you the reader that we are here as a group of around 40 likeminded volunteers, raising money and giving our time to help good causes within our community and around the world and that you can see what we are about in a number of ways, modern and more traditional. We have a webpage 'tickhill-lions.com' which contains a great deal of information on what we do and how we can help. You can look us up on Facebook, just search Tickhill and District Lions and 'Like' our page, that way we can keep you up to date with what we are doing in your area and elsewhere. You can read our feature each month in this magazine and I will endeavour to keep you up to date with our exploits, activities and efforts to help.
You can contact is in a number of ways too: email us at contact@tickhilllions.com , by telephone on 08449 632462 or you can write to us at Tickhill & District Lions, 1 Heather Close, Tickhill, Doncaster DN11 9UU. So something for everyone I hope. You will see us supporting local events and raising money where we can so take the time to ask us what we do, you may be more than a little surprised by just how much work and support is put into the local area. I look forward to getting to know you all just a little better over the next year.
