THE GATHERING DESCEND INTO THE MADNESS

Here we are, finally – at the very edge of the Holy Grounds. You have come from far and wide to witness the story of Adscendo, to be free like a bird, to fly like an eagle and simply to have the greatest of all times. Setting up camp early is always a great idea, especially at Tomorrowland’s campground, DreamVille, as it enables you to start the pre-partying right now! You’ll have a great warm-up and you’ll get a first taste of the madness at the very first official rave here in Boom: The Gathering.

When you imagine a pre-party you would probably think of a modest event, a place where you hug your friends and have a first drink, nod your head to the music and try out a few first moves. Those things are certainly all possible at The Gathering, of course, but expect a lot more than a tiny little dance or you’ll be in shock for the rest of your weekend. With a capacity of 30,000 ravers, The Gathering is a festival in its own right. It is where you will bump into fellow People of Tomorrow whom you met last year, or never before. It is where old friendships are renewed and where new pals are made to the soundtrack of highly energetic beats, driving basslines and euphoric melodies. The Gathering, in other words, is Tomorrowland in a nutshell, with a line-up so sweet you might mistake it for honey. One set to definitely look forward to is Maxim Lany’s, an artist whose deep and hypnotic productions have been widely supported by the likes of Solomun, Tale of Us, Kölsch and Agoria. The Gathering is also an excellent place to sample what’s great about Belgian rave music: young and gifted DJs from the country including DJ Kaspa and wonder child Amber Broos draw inspiration from the ecstatic, pumping 1990s, and it’s easy to hear those influences in their sets. So while some may want to sit back and relax on the campsite after such a long journey, we recommend you sort yourself out as soon as possible and gather your friends to head to the Gathering.

Meet Me Middle Right

Whilst The Gathering is a big rave, it isn’t as big as the Tomorrowland festival grounds. It is therefore a relatively suitable place to first meet up with your friends from back home or abroad. In other words, it’s the ideal site for hellos and hugs (or footshakes and elbow bumps, if you’re still into those!). Our tip of the day is to pick a landmark and turn it into your designated meetup area. This approach will save you a lot of trouble when your battery runs flat. And don’t all say “meet me front left,” or it’ll get too crowded down there!
