With a brand-new album in the pipeline, it is an exciting time to see and hear Felix de Laet aka Lost Frequencies perform at Tomorrowland. Working on full lengths is among the things he truly loves in life, Felix has told us before, as he sees it as the ultimate format for self-expression. His new single ‘The Feeling’ comes with a touch of country music, to which he’s added generous doses of melody and energy. If this is only the beginning of a new sound, we can’t wait to hear what he’s got in store for us on stage. Let’s hear it for the Belgian boy wonder of electronic music!

You are one of the very few artists playing Tomorrowland no less than three times. How does that feel?

“I love the combination of both playing on the Mainstage and also curating my own Lost Frequencies and Friends stage. Tomorrowland feels like home to me. My connection to the festival and the team, especially being a Belgian artist, runs very deep, and it’s a dream to return every year.”

Can you tell us about three tracks you’ve recently discovered which you play in your DJ sets, and why you love them so much?

“ANOTR & Abel Balder’s ‘Relax My Eyes’ comes to mind first. This is a huge track that has an amazing vocal from Abel Balder. It gives me that laid-back summer feeling, but it also gets everyone excited in the club. Svenn also did a super cool bootleg that I’ve been playing lately!” selecting tracks for my DJ sets. I enjoy blending peak time tracks like this one with house edits and my own original releases to showcase a variety of what I’m a fan of as an artist personally. It also serves as a way to present a variety of tracks to the audience in my sets. I love the vocal on this one!”

You played Tomorrowland Winter last March. Can you tell us a little about that experience?

“I enjoy Tomorrowland Winter because there is no other winter festival doing it as well as Tomorrowland. In the French Alps, an amazing setting, they have the best artists performing, in a location like no other. I think the team really took the idea and ethos of the original Tomorrowland to a unique place. I played after sunset on the Mainstage, so it felt like the audience really dropped their inhibitions and were ready to let loose. It was one of my stand-out sets of the year for sure.” touches. I am hoping to release the album later this year, but I can’t say too much at the moment! My new single ‘The Feeling’ is out now though, revealing my love of country, and combining it with a more pop-ready sound that I love. The record will also feature some collaborations with new artists I’m enjoying working with, as well as some party tracks, of course!”

Techno has become very popular, with Hardwell playing a techno set during Tomorrowland last year, for example. Can we expect a flirt with techno from you at some point?

You’ve had a few super catchy hits, real earworms that featured some great vocalists. Who would be your dream vocalist if you could name anyone on the planet, and why?

“I’m an absolute fan of Labrinth. He’s an amazing singer, songwriter and performer. So it would be insane to work with him.”

What will you be doing at Tomorrowland when you’re not performing? Do you have any tips for great things to do?

“Then there’s KREAM – ‘Sweat’, a moody deep house track on Spinnin’ Deep. This one comes with a progressive melody that I could have on repeat non-stop, it’s just too good!”

“And for a third one I’d pick HotLap ft. Doddy –‘Set You Free’. I like taking things a bit deeper when

“I’m a huge fan of techno, but personally I like to go progressive or deeper when I experiment with more club-ready sounds.”

The latest rumour is you’ve been working on a new album. Can you tell us a little about the process of creation and about what to expect?

“We are still in the stages of adding some final

“Where do I start?! I recommend seeing as many different stages as you can – the festival is one of the best in the world and for good reason. Every stage has a different vibe, a different vision and of course, a different sound. Go out of your comfort zone and experience exactly what Tomorrowland is all about! The food on-site is also amazing, especially if you’re camping at DreamVille. Don’t waste a moment, and I hope to see you around!”
