Tomorrowland Today 2024 | Glorious Sunday

Page 1

MUSICAL EXPLORATIONS

There used to be a time when there was nothing to do on a Sunday. Luckily, these days are long gone and nowhere is this more apparent than right here in Boom. Take today’s appearance by hardstyle greats Sub Zero Project, whose thumping beats will transport you to a different dimension. The likes of Alesso and Afrojack will bring their joyful beats and melodies to the Mainstage later on, before 3 Are Legend – also known as Dimi, Mike, and Steve Aoki – will send you off into the night. Sunday is also a great day to explore the many different sides of dance music, such as Vini Vici’s psytrance, Nymfo’s drum & bass, or the sweet house sounds of Krystal Klear.

The final day of Tomorrowland is one to be cherished. Make sure to live in the moment. Don’t you worry (child), there will be more fantastic days after this one, so start roaming the Holy Grounds freely and make us proud!

Whatever your plans are for today, heading over to the Mainstage for the closing ceremony is always a great idea. You’ll make everlasting memories and it’s the perfect way to eternalise your love for the People of Tomorrow.

What was that, friends? What came over us during these two days – two bewildering days on the verdant fields of Silvyra, the domain of LIFE itself? No words could do it justice, surely. But view it, friends, like this: the seed planted within you on Friday is starting to come into bloom. Drawing energy from all around, that little kernel sprouted. Feeding off the beautiful souls that surround you, it took root. Gathering strength from the infinite, working through nature’s endless connections, it grew mature, and now, it is starting to bloom. Thus, you become one with all that is; thus, you yourself become a source of

harmony, as the petals open and you spread your love to all the world. Friends –these last two days have been a wonder, but sadly, that means only one more day is left. Give it your all. Feast on the bounty of Tomorrowland, take in everything once more. Nurture the flowering harmony within you, feel it connect to the ancient energy coursing through everyone’s veins. Gather all of it up and keep it with you, and once the final note resounds tonight, fear not – for this is only the beginning. Now that harmony is within your heart, you will remain part of the symphony of LIFE forever.

THE ELEMENTS OF LIFE

LIFE as we know it is the greatest miracle of all: a riot of movement, colours, smells, and sounds, existing in perfect harmony across aeons of time. The foundation of all life, as we citizens of Silvyra are well aware, lies in the quiet, unwavering existence of plants; without complaint, they turn four essential elements – light, air, water, and earth – into nourishment, breathable air, and a livable climate to us all. The two elements of water and earth are the very pillars supporting life’s existence. Here is how they are involved in the wondrous fabric of creation.

WATER & EARTH

Deep beneath the surface of the world, a wondrous, barely explored world exists, where roots and tiny critters reign supreme: the dark underbelly of the earth is teeming with life, and yet we see very little of it. Soil nourishes plants and provides a place to essential insects, putting it at the basis of everything we see around us, and importantly, of all of the things we eat. It is also, however, the home of nature’s most honoured interconnective tissue: the Mycelium. is network of fungal tendrils forms the true body of the lifeforms we know as mushrooms, and the work it does is nothing short of incredible. Interfacing with everything else that lives underground, the Mycelium can transport nutrients as well as information, from signals to songs, between plants spread far and wide. us, it is an essential part of the Verdant, the originary harmony of nature.

e earth would not be able to sustain life, however, without water. Carried down to us on a cosmic journey from the heavens, raindrops replenish our reserves, course down riverbeds with abandon towards the great blue seas, owing hither and thither; water’s neverending movements, up and down the stems of plants, through bodies human, magical and celestial, are the very engines of creation itself. Remember, then, when you take your rst sip in the morning, every day; when you plant your feet on the ground and dance; when you feel the sunlight and smell the sweet scents in the air - you are participating in the in nite, in the ancient connectedness of life.

growing into the day

The sun is already shining brightly over the grounds, almost as shiny as the people themselves, and at DreamVille, the day is off to an enchanting start once again. Yesterday’s revelries are still reverberating in the air as morning routines begin. Some start the day with a cozy breakfast at their tent, enjoying the calm before the excitement. Others flutter out to exercise or seek refreshment. It’s beautiful to see how everyone starts their day differently, each with their own unique rhythm, but all united in the magic of Tomorrowland. Curious about how your fellow DreamVillagers grow into their day? Let’s take a look and be inspired by the diversity and energy around us!

an energetic start

Alex, Amelie, and Chantal from Australia had been trying for years to score a ticket, agreeing that they would quit their jobs if they succeeded. And that’s just what they did, along with their house leases. After Tomorrowland, they plan to continue traveling through Europe.
The wake-up routine of this cheerful group is as follows: a litre of beer, the Austrian way! They tally their drinks on their arms and it’s no small amount. However, the first one in the morning, right after getting out of the tent, is a bit harder to down than the rest.
DreamVille fitness enthusiasts can elevate their festival experience at the Recovery Area. Plant the first seed here for an energetic day! The gym’s unique blend of fitness and festival vibes creates an unforgettable environment where health and happiness harmonise. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just dipping your toe in for the first time, the Recovery Area is the perfect place to balance indulgence with wellness. Prefer to start your day a bit less actively? Then you can visit the Balance Area for a peaceful start with various types of yoga.

They were blown away by the Swedish House Mafia yesterday, and now, these Germans are busy planning their schedule for today. They are particularly looking forward to Amelie Lens. Despite having different tastes in music, they still go to Tomorrowland together every year!

This German couple’s morning routine: open the tent and cuddle for a while as the rest of the group prepares breakfast. They met at the gym, and after breakfast, they are going to get ready for the day with a session at the Recovery Area.

go green, recycle

Love Tomorrow are dedicated to transforming Tomorrowland into a beacon of sustainability. Their mission is to make a positive impact by encouraging everyone to recycle as much as possible. To support this effort, they established a special Recycle Area at DreamVille, where people can conveniently dispose of recyclables. Additionally, this area offers a refreshing start to your day with free fresh fruit and water. By dropping your waste here, you are all cordially invited to make a meaningful difference and preserve the beauty of our world!

Valerie brought fresh pajamas for every night at Tomorrowland. “Today’s zebra theme refers to the crazy party animal I was yesterday,” she says. “I had such a good night of sleep, I’m about to make a cozy breakfast for the rest of the group.”

First things you do in the morning, Kevin? “Wake up to see if I still have all my stuff, then check if my heart is still pounding and so I am still alive. Then I get out of the tent and freshen up a bit, before it’s already time for a new beer at 10 a.m.!”

Juan from Mexico is up and running again after needing some refreshment in the morning. “I’m here with a group of 10 close friends from Chile, Mexico, and Spain. We drink a bit too much vodka every night and then go wild on all the amazing techno here at Tomorrowland.”

Elisa likes working at Tomorrowland because there’s always enough happening. “Usually, the people who come for breakfast are really hungover, but still happy and joyful to be here, looking forward to the day. I like the different outfits and hairstyles I see the most.”

Layla from The Netherlands found a nice a quiet corner of DreamVille to read her fresh Tomorrowland Today newspaper. This will be her highlight of the day, she said! Well…. besides having a whale of a time at the Moose Bar later, of course.

DOUBLE, TRIPLE, AND QUADRUPLE

We’re not saying that anyone would disagree, but we are making a case for it once again: Belgium has the very best beer in the world. This year, Tomorrowland’s Belgian Beer Bar has relocated to the Brasa area, which makes sense, as good food and good drink shouldn’t be far removed from one another. There are two bars to choose from, each serving the same range which includes Jupiler, a classic refreshing pilsner from the Walloon city of Liège, the slightly sweet Leffe Blonde – possibly the most popular abbey beer in the world – and the much darker but equally tasty Kwak. Kwak was originally served in a strange ‘coach’ glass, which would slot into a wooden structure holding it in place on the horse-drawn carriages of olden times as they travelled over bumpy cobblestone roads. If you’re into sampling craft beers and love going local, then this is your chance. Keep in mind that you can also buy these boutique Belgian beers at Beers and Stories, located at DreamVille. Don’t sleep on it!

LIVE LIFE ONE TRACK AT A TIME

The musical journey of Tomorrowland wouldn’t be complete without a music label as a harbour for creative energy and breathtaking compositions. Tomorrowland Music’s mission is to introduce new tunes to every corner of the world, and just the last two releases, which came out on Friday, show the drive and versatility with which this is achieved. ‘Things We Do’ by Jengi and The Magician is a sunny, summery piano house track, capturing the energy of the first beats on the Holy Grounds perfectly. On the other side, ‘Vertigo’ by Agents of Time and Camden Cox will catapult you straight intothrilling Tomorrowland nights, in which the celestial bodies stir the pulse of life.

AND THE HILLS SHALL DROP DELICATE WINE

If you want to experience the euphoria of this year’s Tomorrowland theme ‘LIFE’ back at home, the label has something special waiting: The Official Compilation 2LP LIFE Vinyl set with exclusive tracks and extended versions tailored for DJs and music lovers alike. Featuring a handpicked selection of current singles from some of the biggest names in electronic music and some of the biggest club hits of the moment, this is a testament to Tomorrowland’s musical versatility. From uplifting melodies to heart-pounding beats, every track embodies the unity, joy, and diversity celebrated here. Enhanced by stunning artwork, each 2LP is a collector’s piece, rich in aesthetic detail and luxuriously packaged. Grab yours at the Tomorrowland Stores on site or online at store.tomorrowland.com.

WORK THE MAGIC

Ever dreamt about being part of the magic and serving people not only the tastes and drinks of Tomorrow, but also your very special own smile? NOWJOBS might just be able to make your wildest dreams come true. You and your friends can register for a job at the bars or restaurants, or as food and beverages runners during the festival. Vacancies are open for all student workers and flexi-jobbers among you. All you have to do is download the NOWJOBS app, and who knows, maybe next year you will be the one who is Happy to Help the People of Tomorrow. But be aware: this is a highly addictive gig, and you’ll find yourself a whole new family that might even take you as far as Tomorrowland Winter.

With good food comes great wine and Tomorrowland knows it; they’ve been on top of their sommelier’s game for a while now. The Acta Non Verba range comes in limited edition Chardonnay, Shiraz and Rosé varieties, which are all the hardwon result of vines in the Adelaide hills, a place where the quality of the wine is defined by the actions of the winemakers, not their words. The vines in the Adelaide hills cling to steep rocky hillsides shrouded in fog where the grapes ripen slowly, fanned by a cool gully breeze. Making these wines by hand in this terroir results in a seamless, elegant and pure profile with an acid structure and length which lasts forever. It is this unique region, in combination with traditional methods and pristine knowhow, that leads to Acta Non Verba displaying big, bold, intense flavours, besides the cantalising elegance and softness which have become its hallmarks. Fun fact: the Shiraz (3000 bottles) and Chardonnay (4800 bottles) varieties are extremely limited and are almost sold out already in their current vintages. A few bottles remain to order at actanonverbawines.com, if you’re fast enough. And if you want to taste the exclusive Acta Non Verba wines on the spot, you will find them in the Brasa Restaurant, the Wine Boutique at Brasa, and the Wine Boutique at Mesa Garden.

SUMMER DAYS, IBIZA

NIGHTS

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have forever changed Wednesday nights in Ibiza since they first set foot in Ushuaïa, the island’s most fabulous club. Aptly named after the capital city of Argentina’s remote Tierra del Fuego area, the open-air beach club is turned upside down when the two brothers hit the decks, bringing unparalleled dance floor entertainment under the creative supervision of your favourite festival, Tomorrowland. This season’s guests will include Steve Aoki, Timmy Trumpet, The Chainsmokers and – surprisingly, perhaps – nu-techno hero Marlon Hoffstadt. Dimi and Mike’s magical takeover happens most Wednesdays until the 2nd of October, so the choice is yours!

WAY BACK WITH LAIDBACK LUKE

Once a month, Laidback Luke hosts Wayback Luke, an exclusive onehour show on One World Radio, where he takes you on a journey back to the golden age of dance music. In the broadcast, the Dutch producer, who was already ten years into his career when he co-produced some of the very first tunes by Swedish House Mafia, celebrates the scene’s vibrant history while sharing some of his most memorable stories. Luke has been everywhere, made every style of electronic music you can think of, and knows everyone – and that is why he’s the best guy to talk to when you want to find out about the history of dance. Here’s how he experienced its many mutations, from early beginnings down to the present, more centred phase of his career.

“My production process went from two weeks to four hours for one track after I met Steve Angello.”

Let’s try to go as far back as we can. Tell us about one of your favourite memories from when you just started out as an artist?

“Sure! This was in 1999 when I was an up-and-coming name. I was nervous to play an early slot for a huge crowd. I was ready for it though, it was the right timing. I turned the whole place upside down and I felt in control. It was incredible.”

You’ve always been a guy with one foot in the underground and the other in the mainstream dance scene. How have these two worlds evolved over the years, in your opinion?

“It’s more complicated than it seems. Because my career is so long, I’ve seen lots of cycles of trends coming and going and then coming back again. Techno was huge in the ‘90s, then fell off most people’s radar, and look how popular it is right now! Similarly, I saw the whole arc of EDM coming up, and what you’re seeing now is that the sound is giving way to genres like tech house and drum & bass.”

What are some of your favourite early memories of underground electronic music?

“My great mentor Gaston Steenkist, known for his works as Chocolate Puma with René ter Horst, introduced me to titans like DJ Pierre, Carl Craig, and Carl Cox, and all of those people are ingrained in my DNA. I used to buy their records and now I follow them on Instagram. Kenny Larkin is someone I love to follow and interact with as well. I love Kenny’s dark and funky Detroit techno vibe.”

How about the more commercial stuff from back in the day?

“Haha, well, I once pissed off Gaston, because I knew him and René from their massive crossover hit, ‘Give It Up’, which they released as The Good Men. I sat down with him once and asked him: What does it take to score a hit like that? Are you guys commercial? And then he got mad, because they had never intended it to be a crossover hit.”

At some point, you switched from playing and producing darker stuff to making more cheerful music. How did that happen?

“I came up with people like Adam Beyer, Marco

“I’ve seen lots of cycles of trends coming and going and then coming back again.”

Carola, and UMEK. At some point I felt like I was going too much underground. I blame my Filipino side for it, because my Filipino side wants cheesy music and sing-alongs. My Dutch side was thriving in techno, but I couldn’t do it anymore. I just wanted to make different music and this turned out to be more commercial than the techno I previously made.”

You were already doing the happier stuff when you first met the Swedish House Mafia guys. How do you look back on collaborating with them on their first releases?

“Oh, it was incredible. I always say they triggered a second revolution in my sound. Mind you, I was already a decade into my career, but producing had become a very elaborate kind of process. It would take me two weeks to finish a track. Once I’d sat down with Steve Angello in his studio in Stockholm and saw what he did, how he processed his sounds and made them sound really fat, my production process went from two weeks to four hours for one track. So it was like Luke on steroids from that moment onwards.”

Having seen so many trends in music come and go, what have been your favourite styles of electronic music so far?

“Back in the day in the Netherlands, between about 2006 and 2009, we had this sound we used to call the sneaker sound. I’m talking about the time before the Dutch style developed into an international craze, before it crossed over to America. No one used to call it EDM then. Dutch DJs like myself, Chuckie, Afrojack, Hardwell, and Gregor Salto all played that music. No one outside the Netherlands knew about it, but ask any big and professional Dutch DJ about the sneaker sound, and it will unleash a ton of memories.”

During the first few years of your international success, you were one of the biggest global electronic artists. Then other producers and new genres took

over. How have you dealt with this? To what extent do you follow trends?

“I wish I had an answer for that, but I don’t. In my experience, it has always been good to keep noticing the trends. I used to always be able to predict them two years before they came up, so it was easy for me to dive into them real early. But before that, in my early years, I was doing my own thing and I broke through for being me. So I’m now at a point in my career where I’m embracing that again. I’m going back to my younger me, and I’m saying, screw all the trends. I’m going to make my own trend.”

What are some of the recent developments in dance music you’ve been getting excited about?

“I had a little stint of being interested in harder techno about two years ago. It wasn’t that fast back then, maybe 140 or 150 BPM. But then it got out of control and I fell out of love with it. Now I feel it’s way more artistic to drop some drum & bass, like a lot of the big guys are doing right now. But speaking for myself, I’m going to focus on that sneaker sound I mentioned earlier.”

Now let’s try to predict the future. Where is electronic music going at the moment and where will it lead us in the next few years?

“Chase & Status went viral on TikTok, right? That’s been a huge influence, so you’ll hear everyone drop a ton of drum & bass this year at Tomorrowland, that’s for sure.”

And how about further into the future?

“There have been whispers that because techno is so uptempo now, hardstyle will finally cross over into other scenes, so we’ll see how that pans out. But I know for a fact that a lot of hardtechno people are already flirting with it on a massive scale.”

LAIDBACK LUKE

Born in Manila and raised on the outskirts of Amsterdam, Luke van Scheppingen aka Laidback Luke started making music in the ‘90s, inspired as he was by the spirit of Detroit techno and the vibrant house music scenes of Chicago and New York. Early releases, such as 1995’s ‘Act the Fool’ and 1999’s ‘En Route’, were underground stompers played out in clubs around the world. It wasn’t until he switched to progressive house, during the first years of the 21st century, that he became one of the pioneers of the emerging EDM scene, working with influential contemporaries like Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. Luke has experimented with pretty much any style of electronic music you could think of, but has now returned to what he loves most: the original snappy Laidback Luke sound of his younger years.

JUSTIN’S

TIPS FOR YOUR LAST DAY

1. Picking the artists you really want to see can be quite the effort. Luckily, Justin has a great tip on how to make it easier for yourself: “Definitely go and see the number 1 on your bucket list. Then go and see a DJ you’ve never seen before. Make sure to also visit a stage you’ve never been at before. An lastly, ask someone out there which DJ they are excited about seeing and why – you’ll be inspired in no time.”

2. Come and swing by the One World Radio studio! “On the one hand, it’s a great way of getting really close to some of your favourite artists, and if you shoot us a message on our Instagram Story with a question for one of the artists playing that day, you might even be there when they answer it. On the other hand, we have a beautiful view over big parts of the festival here. You’ll likely spot something that you will then immediately want to visit and experience.”

3. “Don’t just rush from spot to spot and set to set. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of it all and to truly immerse yourself in this wondrous experience. Pay attention to all the little details. When you stand in front of the Mainstage, take some time to admire all the little elements: the butterflies, the fountains, the twisting and turning roots and twigs.” Magical.

Originally launched as a pop-up activation, One World Radio is now a household name. With live broadcasts from all Tomorrowland events, reruns of the best live sets, interviews with all your favourite artists, and the best radio hosts, it has become a globally adored radio network with avid listeners from every electronic music genre. For the third year in a row, One World Radio is broadcasting this amazing experience around the clock from the on-site studio situated atop the hill overlooking the lake. It’s there that we meet Justin Wilkes, one of the hosts, for a small chat.

LIFE ON AIR ONE WORLD RADIO

Hi Justin, thanks for having us! Let’s dive right in with an essential question: how have you been experiencing Tomorrowland so far?

“It’s been a wild ride. I am honestly stunned by how this festival manages not to be different every year, but actually better every year. Every day I walk around the site before the gates open and just on these short strolls, I see something new every time! It’s an immersive experience unlike any other. I seriously have no clue how next year can be better… but that’s what I’ve said every time so far, and they’ve always pulled it off.”

From all of the One World Radio broadcasts from the studio, which one stands out the most to you?

“It’s not really a moment from a broadcast, but rather the first time I stood here. And interestingly enough, many artists that come here for the first time share that sentiment. They arrive on-site, make their way to the studio and then, standing here, overlooking this rich tapestry

of possibilities – for many, that is the moment where it really hits them: I’m at Tomorrowland! How beautiful is that?”

One more question: this Sunday is a special day for One World Radio. Keen eyes might have spotted One World Radio Soundsystem on the Mainstage timetable… what can we expect? “Basically, we’ll be broadcasting from and on the Mainstage this Sunday from 12:00 to 14:30. We’re going to be showcasing the music that we play at One World Radio, so it’s going to be super diverse. Me, Adam K, and Ben Malone will be DJ’ing and hosting the Daybreak Session, and we’ll have tons of guests there. I won’t be giving away too much on who they are, but let’s say this: there might be some of our OWR hosts, and maybe also someone who is known to be into fitness. I feel like I already said too much (laughs). But yeah, come through and make some ever-lasting memories with us!”

A SYMPHONY OF TASTES AND TEXTURES ...COMPOSED

The journey that is Tomorrowland will lead you to wondrous places, taking your eyes and ears by storm. These are not the only senses with which to experience life here, though. Your palate is just as important for connecting with the sacred energy that has been the lifeblood of our movement. This profound belief is encapsulated in multiple spots spread all over these hallowed grounds, but nowhere in a more palpable way than at Mesa Garden. Here, chefs from all walks of life with fascinating backgrounds showcase their creations, and it’s easy to get lost in the sea of scents and aromas that waft through the air. But if you follow your nose, we are rather certain you will quickly end up in front of the stand of Michelin-starred Chef Pam and her Asian Streetfood stand.

We met this culinary maverick for a conversation about how she transforms her dishes into festival-ready bites, how change for good through food is possible, and many more exciting topics.

BY CHEF PAM

Hi Pam, it’s good to meet you here in your creative environment! How have you been experiencing Tomorrowland so far?

“Oh my god, it’s indescribable. This is my first time here and the sheer amount of things to discover and to take in is unbelievable. To be a part of this and to contribute to this experience means the world to me.”

Your background lies in fine dining and your restaurant POTONG has been awarded both a star and the ‘Opening of the Year’ award from the Michelin Guide. How did you translate your style and dishes from haute cuisine to streetfood for Tomorrowland?

“It was very important for me to stick to what I love to express through food, so using great ingredients and authentic flavours was my top priority. Luckily we were able to source both of those here pretty easily. We reduced the complexity of the dishes to make them a bit more approachable, and easier to understand in a loud and fast-paced environment. But the balance of the aromas and sensations stays the same.”

You offer three different dishes to showcase the Thai cuisine you love and care about. Tell us a bit about what awaits your guests.

“We offer an oyster mushroom salad, chicken thigh skewers and a grilled steak with Thai red curry –and honestly, people need to try all of them. We

prepare the oyster mushroom salad with baby lettuce wedges and a toasted rice powder we call ‘laab’. It absorbs the tangy dressing, so the salad always stays super fresh! The skewers are served with a cucumber salad and tamarind dressing and we marinade the chicken with cilantro root, garlic and chili. We keep it simple with the steak – great sirloin, rice and a perfectly balanced red Thai curry. It works together like a symphony (laughs)!”

You’re outspoken about wanting to bring forth positive change through your craft. How can restaurant culture and chefs be a force for good?

“I think both an experience like Tomorrowland and what we do as chefs have two really great ways of helping society and the planet. One is the direct way: What resources do we use? What processes do we adhere to? And how do we bring kindness to those around us? At the same time, there’s an indirect way as well. Chefs and Tomorrowland both bring people together, foster conversations, and promote new connections and the collaboration of cultures. And to me, that is the best way of bringing about change.”

Well put! Last question: If you could bring one thing about Tomorrowland to your restaurants in Thailand… what would it be?

“The fantasy! I don’t think I need to elaborate on that…”

ABOUT CHEF PAM

Pichaya Soontornyanakij, more commonly known as Chef Pam, is one of Asia’s most promising young chefs right now. Her restaurant POTONG is regarded by critics as one of the continent’s best dining experiences, having received countless accolades. In addition to that, she is the youngest female chef ever to receive an ‘Opening of the Year’ award from Michelin. It’s safe to say this is only the beginning for her. Having studied mostly with European chefs, she now focusses on the Thai kitchen with which she grew up, and figures out how to fuse it with other culinary experiences. You’ll find her working hard in the kitchen at Mesa Garden, sporting her inviting and friendly countenance which she calls a ‘Thai smile’. The story checks out!

THE CULINARY SYMPHONY

Although not a musician exactly, Chef Pam is practically a composer when it comes to orchestrating the kitchen. Here is how she thinks her culinary endeavours would translate into song!

The bassline: “The Sirloin Steak and the red Thai Curry are the bassline of the symphony we create here. Deep and dark flavours, and so much satisfaction in every bite… it’s just what the bass brings to a song.” We feel that the smokiness and uniquely meaty flavors of the steak add extra bass weight as well.

The rhythm: Pam feels that her chicken thigh skewers add a lot of engagement and movement to her offering – just like the rhythm in a dance track! “There’s sweetness, juiciness, spice… I feel like this dish really gets people going, moves them forward.”

The melody: Lightness, refreshment and something to remember, that’s what a melody brings to a song. And it’s exactly what Pam feels her Oyster Mushroom Salad adds to her symphony in the Mesa Garden. “It tingles your tongue, I don’t know how else to describe it,” Pam says and laughs.

The lyrics: “In the lyrics you tell a story, with twists and turns, highs and lows, and lots of diverse impressions. That’s just what the people in the kitchen and in the dining areas add to a food experience.” And just like that, Pam’s wonderful symphony is complete! 1. 2. 3. 4.

REMEMBER FOREVER

In Silvyra, humans and nature blend into a single melody, united by a radiant blue energy field. This energy comes from magical pollen that weaves love and new memories into every moment. During Tomorrowland, this energy transforms the festival into a dazzling spectacle. As you dance through the weekend, it creates memories that will last a lifetime. Reflecting on your entire circle of life, what stands out as your most colourful memory?

Geraldine, Darren, and Perlin from Singapore

Adriana

from Portugal

For 12 years now, these three have been making a big trip together every year, and this year Tomorrowland is the destination. Back home, they meet up every month for dinner. Their whole history together adds up to one big memory!

“I have a lot of colourful memories, but if I had to choose one, I would say my trip to Thailand. I met many people and made new friends there, and the culture and food were fantastic!”

Daniel from Spain

Shaun and Heidy from Los Angeles, USA

Daniel enthusiastically shares that Vaquillas in Spain was his first big festival, and he was blown away. That experience made him decide that he absolutely had to go to Tomorrowland, where he can be his colourful self. “I have a very colourful personality and love to dress up.”

Shaun & Heidy met a few years ago during their law studies. “You might think that people who study law are quite serious, but we are definitely not! We were always joking around together, and we still are, only it’s outside of the classroom now.”

Nina from Germany

Nina has been riding horses for years. “I have loved horses since I was little. I’ve competed in many events with my own horse, and in 2016, I even became the European Champion during the championships in Austria. I’m still so incredibly proud of that.” As you should be, Nina!

Mitali from India

Michaella from Cyprus

Greg from France

For Mitali, it’s not hard to choose a memory: she just got married two weeks ago. “My husband is from Canada, but we had a traditional wedding in India with all the trimmings. It was mesmerizing – not just the wedding itself, but all the preparations too.”

“My best memory is the first time I danced to electronic music,” says Michaella. “That was at a festival in Cyprus last summer. For me, Tomorrowland this year is just taking it to the next level; the cherry on top.”

“The most colourful memory of my life? Honestly, it’s Tomorrowland. Maybe it’s not a creative answer, but it is truly my honest response to this question. I’m here for the second time this year, and the Mainstage is just unbelievable, with all those colours and flowers. I love it!”

60ml Solo Vida Reserva by Tomorrowland, 60ml fresh orange juice, 7,5ml sugar syrup, 3 ice cubes, orange zest, cinnamon

CRAFTING ELEGANCE A MIXOLOGIST’S JOURNEY WITH SOLO VIDA

It takes a stroll through the Mesa Garden’s beautiful tunnel annex herb garden, but Papillon’s private cocktail bar is well worth seeking out. Once you’re in, you’re immediately immersed in an interactive cocktail and tea experience led by Tomorrowland’s renowned expert mixologist, Elias Belmans. Combining a distinctive gastronomic flair with the art of cocktail crafting, Elias is guided by a Tastes of the World ethos and a profound expertise in herb mastery and infusion. His approach ensures that each sip reflects a rich tapestry of global flavours and styles.

Employing avant-garde cocktail techniques and an array of fresh ingredients, Elias manifests his creativity through a synthesis of techniques, flavours, and textures, all woven into engaging narratives during his presentations. Beyond the bar, Elias channels his ardour into his family’s herb production enterprise, a veritable haven for fresh herbs, edible flowers, sprouts, and more. At the festival, Elias finds inspiration in Tomorrowland’s very own Solo Vida Reserva, which he describes as embodying elegance, complexity, and balance, with fruity and citrusy undertones. He asserts that it is the perfect sparkling refreshment on its own, and remarkably complements a myriad of cocktail flavours. In fact, Elias believes that a dash of Solo Vida will elevate any drink, transforming it into a magical experience. To give you an idea of the possibilities, the following guides – to be followed at home or requested at the bar – offer a spectrum of tastes from refined elegance to bold, pronounced flavours, leveraging well-balanced synergies in unique cocktails. Try them and believe it: the recipes stand as testaments to nature’s offerings. Take a sip and release the butterflies!

A NEW CORE EXPERIENCE

At the heart of this year’s brand-new CORE stage lies a tale of global exploration. And so, its journey began in January this year, in the lush jungle of Tulum, where it seamlessly blended into its natural surroundings for two magical nights during CORE Tulum. Featuring a rugged structure full of water elements, immersive lights, and laser beams, this stage marked a new era by integrating lights, video, and scents to heighten the sensory experience. From Tulum, it journeyed to South America, gracing Medellín’s botanical garden with CORE Medellín, set against a backdrop of charming natural beauty. Slowly, this stage was turning into a true symbol of global movement, showcasing leading figures of house & techno to the People of Tomorrow worldwide. Now, this all-new creation returned to our enchanting forest in Boom for the very first time for the two weekends of Tomorrowland Belgium. But what lies ahead for this iconic experience? Only time will unveil its next chapter…

BACK UP WE GO

Celebrating the best of electronic music amidst the majestic French Alps has taught us one thing: festivals and winter sports make an unbeatable combination. The snow-capped peaks of Alpe d’Huez provided a breathtaking backdrop for the 2024 edition of Tomorrowland Winter, where the excitement of seven days of revelry unfolded into an unforgettable winter extravaganza.

In 2024, over 22,000 visitors indulged in eight stunning indoor and outdoor stages scattered across the mountains and the heart of Alpe d’Huez. With over 150 electronic artists and access to 250 km of exhilarating slopes, the thrill was endless. While we may be swapping our winter gear for sunny summer apparel right now, we’re thrilled to announce that Tomorrowland Winter will return in 2025 from March 15-22. Stay tuned for ticket sales starting in September 2024, with more information coming your way soon.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE: THE TOMORROWLAND FOUNDATION COLLECTION

The Tomorrowland Foundation Collection brings together two beloved facets of our iconic festival: a better future and fashion. For years, the Tomorrowland Foundation has initiated global projects in music and arts, aiming to provide a better future for underprivileged children. Last year, in collaboration with Ek Tara, the Foundation opened up a second Music & Arts School in Kolkata, leading towards a new dimension in the way the Foundation is connected to the festival. Now, together with the kids and mothers of the school, Tomorrowland proudly presents the Tomorrowland Foundation Collection.

The Foundation Collection boasts a variety of striking pieces adorned with a vibrant butterfly motive. Inspired by the artworks created in the art classes, an exclusive capsule collection has been crafted.

The Tomorrowland Foundation Collection was brought to life to further share this underrepresented facet of the unity that Tomorrowland brings. For years the Tomorrowland Foundation has been starting up projects all over the world, like music and arts education and Mobile Schools, in order to help less privileged children towards a more sustainable future. The Tomorrowland Foundation aims to support children and youngsters in developing countries or regions in crisis between the ages of 4 and 21 from all over the world. The aim is to help them along their path to adulthood, as their parents are often preoccupied with mere survival, trying to keep their head above the water while dealing with unequal chances in life.

Last year, the Tomorrowland Foundation opened a second Music & Arts School located in Kolkata, India, together with Ek Tara. Ek Tara is an independent organization working with children and women from impoverished families, aiming to

provide high-quality holistic education to enable community transformation. 1,500 underprivileged girls, residing within the city’s biggest slums, now have the opportunity to participate in dance, music, and art classes. From this cooperation an idea sprung to bring together Tomorrowland’s fashion line with the work of the Foundation. Inspired by the artworks created in the art classes, an exclusive capsule collection has been crafted.

The Foundation Collection boasts a variety of striking pieces adorned with a vibrant butterfly motif. Each item embodies the resilience and elegance of these children, symbolizing their latent potential and the transformative power of opportunity. Every stitch and detail encapsulates the growth that can occur when one is given the chance to spread one’s wings and thrive. The butterfly motif, drawn and designed by the children of the Music & Arts School, was incorporated in a whole line of T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts. If you look closely at the artwork spread

around the festival this year, you may even spot some more designs by the children of Ek Tara, as they were incorporated in detailing all around the grounds.

A second pillar of the Foundation Collection finds its backstory in the mothers of the children of the Music & Arts School. These women, often unemployed, tended to wait on the roadside for school to end, having to walk the way back home because they could not afford other transportation. For these mothers, Ek Tara launched a subdivision called Ek Tara Creates, in order to also help them improve their living circumstances. Ek Tara opened up an extra working space for the mothers, where they were guided in turning leftover pieces of cloth from ateliers around the neighborhood into items they would be able to sell in handicraft markets for tourists later on. Stumbling upon this add-on initiative, Tomorrowland immediately incorporated it in the fashion line of the Tomorrowland Foundation. Thus, all embroidered items and

accessories in the Collection were made in India and bought from Ek Tara, providing an extra source of income for mothers, and thus a better life for children.

The Tomorrowland Foundation places paramount importance on the creative development of children and young people. Beyond music and dance, the foundation emphasizes art, encouraging children to paint, draw, and engage in crafts, allowing their creativity to flourish. The Tomorrowland Foundation aims to showcase the creations of these young artists, offering a glimpse into the imaginative world of tomorrow's leaders.

The exquisite apparel and accessories of the Tomorrowland Foundation Collection are now available on the festival site at the Tomorrowland Stores, and accessible on the Tomorrowland website throughout the year. All profits of this collection go to the Tomorrowland Foundation’s projects to support kids & youngsters across the globe.

THE GREAT LIBRARY OF TOMORROW

A STORY TO CONNECT ALL OF TOMORROWLAND’S WORLDS

So you loved Tomorrowland’s festival backstory novels, ‘The Rise of Adscendo’ and ‘The Spirit of Life’, for their otherworldly, touching, and adventurous plots? These novels, containing the stories and details of Tomorrowland’s various worlds, received global acclaim from the People of Tomorrow and literary critics alike. If you enjoyed absorbing these novels, or want to make your first foray into Tomorrowland’s deeper narratives, you are now in luck. The creators of the festival are taking their fabled realms, including Adscendo and Silvyra, to the here and now in the first part of the long-awaited ‘Book of Wisdom’ trilogy. The first book, entitled ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’, invites you to explore places you may recognise from your various festival visits.

‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ starts with an alarming observation: Perennia, the Rose Garden’s mythical dragon, has gone missing, and her natural habitat is on fire. There is a sense of panic, but no need to despair: Helia, the Great Library’s Sage of Hope, and her nine spirited fellow sages are determined to protect the realm. Finding the Book of Wisdom that normally guides them eerily silent, they embark on a quest to defeat the suspected perpetrator, a dark entity known as the Ash Man.

A thrilling novel in and of itself, ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ is rooted in the values that are so important to the People of Tomorrow: to live today, love tomorrow, and unite forever. In the book, those core values of unity, hope, love, and nature are threatened, but defeat is nowhere near. There is darkness, but also plenty of light in the tale, as the carriers of the flames of positivity passionately unite to fight the forces of evil. The ten sages, who will become close to your heart as you submerge yourself in a story that can stand with the greatest works written in the genre, carry the same spirit as Tomorrowland, the very festival that has conquered a place in your heart a long time ago.

“In crafting this tale, Tomorrowland has created a testament to our enduring quest for deeper understanding of our place in this world.”

THE BOOK OF WISDOM

‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ – out this fall – is the first part of a trilogy called ‘The Book of Wisdom’. The trilogy marks a one-ofa-kind global collaboration with publishers everywhere, allowing readers around the world to explore the Tomorrowland universe like never before. Pre-order your copy of the first book now in your language of choice, English, German, Polish, Dutch, or French, through thegreatlibraryoftomorrow.com. More translations will be added later!

STEVE AOKI’S THOUGHTS

Steve Aoki was one of the first to read ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ and he devoured it: “With this new fantasy book by Rosalia Aguilar Solace, Tomorrowland has once again exceeded all of my expectations. The characters, the worldbuilding, and the story had me immersed from page one. In true Tomorrowland fashion, the book embodies the culture and ethos of the festival that inspired it, breaking out into sensational new worlds. There are scenes that will have the reader thrilled and on the edge of their seat. And it is set in a whole new universe for us to explore, from the magical and evocative forests of Silvyra to the stunning City of Forever.”

TOMORROWLAND MUSIC X SELECTED CRYSTAL GARDEN

SUB ZERO PROJECT THE ROSE GARDEN

AFTERLIFE FREEDOM

Following their collaborative release with music by Astrality, Jyll, and Dillistone earlier this year, Tomorrowland Music and Berlin label and YouTube channel Selected join forces once again as they collectively present today’s line-up at Crystal Garden. Both platforms are muchloved for providing a home to artists from all different levels in electronic music, a mission that is strongly felt here today with a line-up that feels like a sneak peek into the future. Head to Crystal Garden for an overview of what’s hot right now, including sets by tech house master Ferreck Dawn, eclectic remixer James Hype, and melodic house producer Korolova. What are you waiting for?

Dirty Workz signees Thomas Velderman and Nigel Coppen, known to the public as Sub Zero Project, are at the epicentre of the global hardstyle scene, being friends with producers all over the world. That said, the two also maintain strong relationships with artists in the wider electronic community. It is this strong sense of connectedness as well as their passion for music that makes them such good curators. For this highly anticipated, ten-hour-long occasion, they’ve invited the likes of hardstyle godfather DJ Isaac, on-beat kickroll master Mish, and raw producer Mutilator to join them in the Rose Garden. Start looking forward to a glorious day of fist pumping!

Curated under the supervision of acclaimed Italian duo Tale of Us, the music on Afterlife comes with a clear, innovative sonic signature. The label boasts more than a dozen of actively releasing artists who all manage to craft their own take on the deeply emotional, subtly layered, trance-infused techno that the imprint is known for. Artists performing at Freedom today include Kasia, Kevin de Vries, MRAK and, closing the stage, the Tale of Us men themselves. For your best experience, we recommend spending at least two hours here to get in that utterly unique, hypnotising Afterlife state of mind.

DAYBREAK SESSIONS

ONE WORLD RADIO SOUNDSYSTEM

MAINSTAGE | 12:00

With the arrival of One World Radio on the airwaves, listening to the radio has suddenly become a hell of a lot more interesting. Radio is no longer that crackling dusty thing your grandparents used to listen to. Rather, it has become your one-stop destination to find out all about the classics and new arrivals in an otherwise hard to navigate jungle of dance music sounds. If you are an avid listener to the station, we have great news for you, as three of its most iconic DJs will be hosting what is set to be a glorious Daybreak Session this Sunday.

Far removed from the demands of the dancefloor, radio shows are perfect for testing out new sounds. The less obvious yet much-loved classic sounds that don’t quite tick the peaktime boxes at the festivals anymore are ideal to revive in such a setting, and so that is what will happen today. Also, the best things in life are co-created, and so One World Radio presenters Adam K, Justin Wilkes, Ben Malone will join forces to translate that incredible radio feeling, where there’s always a new discovery lurking just around the corner, to a Mainstage vibe. The three have set their minds on playing tunes that will continue to resonate with you, even when this afternoon has began to turn into a vivid memory. On a final note, great radio shows come with great guests, so… make sure to keep a close eye on who appears on stage as you start rocking to the rhythm of that groovy beat.

MBER BROOS A

In the electrifying world of electronic dance music, few names resonate with emerging talent and seasoned expertise quite like Amber Broos. As she prepares to play Tomorrowland for the third time, Amber’s journey reflects not only on her impressive set of skills but also the evolution and maturation of her unique blend of techno and Belgian retro. From her early days experimenting with beats to her current status as an ascending star, Amber’s progression is a testament to her dedication and passion for music. Join us as we dive into her experiences at Tomorrowland, explore transformations in her musical style, and uncover what drives her continuous growth in the dynamic realm of techno.

Amber, you’re hosting the Atmosphere stage this Sunday and rocking the Mainstage next week. Do you adapt your set to the circumstances?

“I will definitely take on a different approach compared to playing the Mainstage next week. It will be a bit more underground, a bit harder maybe, and more uptempo. Both sets will have a 100% signature Amber Broos feel to them, but when you play the Mainstage you need to lay down a bit of a blueprint of what you stand for as an artist, because you’re playing in front of, well, everybody (laughs).

The Atmosphere on the other hand provides a more rave-like vibe, a sweaty boiler room thrill. It requires a darker and more direct approach musicwise. But I’m always one to be friendly to the crowd, so I’ll always tweak my set according to where I’m playing. I am really looking forward to playing a whole bunch of new records today, and what better way to test them than in the Atmosphere?”

“I think I came a lot closer to who I am and what I stand for these last three years.”

It’s your third year at Tomorrowland – do you notice a difference in how people on and off stage respond and interact with you?

“I must say that I have always felt very welcome

here. The People of Tomorrow have treated me with kindness and love in abundance from day one, and I cannot express how grateful I am for that. The major difference is that more people got to know me and what I stand for over these last few years. I’m ever so grateful for the way Tomorrowland opened up the world for me. I wouldn’t go so far as calling myself a household name just yet, but I definitely want to keep up the hard work in order to become just that. Being asked to host my own stage, at Tomorrowland no less, is probably the biggest compliment I have ever received.”

You have been DJ’ing for almost ten years now, always working towards your recent stardom. What is the most flagrant evolution you have noticed in your musical style?

“I believe every artist is always evolving in one way or another - whether that manifests in style or the way you perform. I think I came a lot closer to who I am and what I stand for these last three years. It’s hard to describe, but I have always been looking for a certain tone in the story I want to tell. The boost that Tomorrowland gave me was the perfect breeding ground to explore that. My style has been described as a mix of techno, retro house, and some more mainstream or poppy breaks and edits. I’m OK with that – although I would also just play a scorching electro track if it has the right feel to it.”

Having skyrocketed to success, do you still take

the time to let it sink in every once in a while?

“I do try to, yes. I don’t take any of the chances I have been given for granted, so I try to embrace all that is happening with a sense of gratitude. Part of that translates to taking some time for a walk around the festival, feeling, tasting, and smelling the essence of what makes Tomorrowland such a magical place. I saw the flower of the Mainstage opening up on Friday, and moments like that give me the kind of goosebumps I can dwell on for days to come. And after the weekend, well... I have a lot of DJ friends, so when I get time off once in a while I head out to their shows. I really love dancing and can party to pretty much every genre of electronic dance music. But if it wereup to me, I’d choose DJ’ing over partying any day of the week (laughs)!”

For the second year in a row you will have your own show at the Waagnatie in Antwerp. Can you give us a sneak peek of what to expect this year?

“Just like last year, I will invite some of my friends and some of my heroes, although I cannot unveil their names yet. You can expect an even bigger and bolder production. We took the decision to move towards a more intimate setting, allowing me to be closer to the audience – almost in between the crowds. One thing’s for sure: expect a massive rave from beginning to end. Keep your eyes open for more in the very near future!”

MAGNUS

ATMOSPHERE | 15:00-16:00

Besides The Subs, there’s another classic Belgian crossover dance gem on Amber Broos’ curated lineup for the Atmosphere today, in the shape of Magnus. This dance project by Tom Barman, famed for Belgium’s finest rock band dEUS, and techno pioneer and allround legend CJ Bolland, came to life through the soundtrack for Barman’s critically acclaimed film ‘Any Way the Wind Blows’. Tom Barman, known for his charismatic presence and artistic vision, has been a pivotal figure in the rock and alternative music scenes, whereas Bolland has been an influential presence in the techno and rave scene since the early nineties, with his groundbreaking tracks and remixes for labels like R&S and !K7.

He was the first ever artist to release an album in the DJ-Kicks series, and his mastery of techno and electronic production has earned him a place among the genre’s elite. His ability to craft hypnotic beats and intricate soundscapes has set him apart as a visionary producer. When Barman and Bolland joined forces to form Magnus, the result was a seamless blend of their distinct music styles.

Their debut album ‘The Body Gave You Everything’, released in 2004, was a testament to their innovative fusion of alternative and electronic elements. Both dynamic talents found each other in this collaboration that merges the raw energy of rock with the pulsating beats of electronic music, creating a unique and captivating sound. Their DJ set today is set to be a showcase of their ability to create catchy, danceable music while maintaining a depth of artistic expression.

CORE | 21:00 - 22:30

Returning to Tomorrowland after her first performance last year is Australian DJ/producer Teneil Throssell aka HAAi. Throssell entered the world of professional music as a member of psychedelic rock band Dark Bells. The move from being in that group to electronic music is less extreme than you may think, as her sets are also packed with mind-elevating sounds and beats of all sorts. Throssell started mixing up rock, funk and ethnic sounds at the famous Ridley Road Market bar in the East London borough of Hackney, before moving on to a sound that is best described as techno with a healthy dose of breakbeats.

THE LIBRARY | 17:00 -18:00

Shaquille O’Neal, a world-renowned NBA Hall of Famer, isn’t just one of the most dominant figures in sports history, but has also transitioned into an in-demand DJ. After going viral for going wild in the middle of the crowd at TomorrowWorld USA in 2014, he got hooked on electronic music. Only two years later, he performed at Tomorrowland for the first time. Since then, he has released major bass records with top acts like Steve Aoki and NGHTMRE, and brought his raw and high-impact sets to crowds all over the globe. Sounds like something right down your alley? Then come and party with the greatest DJ in the world (literally) at 17:00 at The Library.

CHRIS AVANTGARDE

FREEDOM | 17:30 -19:00

German-born and London-based DJ and producer Chris Avantgarde is an incredible musical force to be reckoned with. His compositions explore the realm between melodic techno, electronica, and progressive house, but no matter the genre that he ventures into, he always manages to catapult listeners into a new universe. In fact, Chris’ talent and skill in the studio are so sought-after that even Netflix, Microsoft XBOX, and HBO regularly work together with him. His collaborations with Anyma in 2022 and 2023 were another breathtaking display of why industry experts can’t get enough of this guy. MEMORIES OF TOMORROW

Spanning no less than twenty years, Tomorrowland has piled up deep-rooted memories that have been carved into our collective psyche. In Memories of Tomorrow we look back at the experiences we shared together, as one can only prepare for the future by understanding the past. After twenty years of uniting the world, it’s time to take a breath, reminisce, and remember…

THE FIRST TOMORROW

Remember that one time, that very first time in 2005? It seems like a lifetime ago that Tomorrowland first set foot in the heart of the quaint town of Boom, nestled within the verdant embrace of nature. A grand transformation took place on August 14 that year, creating an irreversible bond between De Schorre and the festival that would grow out to become the love story we all know today. But make no mistake: Tomorrowland’s first edition was nothing like the immense powerhouse it is today.

The genesis of Tomorrowland was a one-day event with just 9,500 visitors and 60 artists spread over a Mainstage looking rather basic by today’s standards and a handful of side stages. With names like Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Justice, and Sven Väth, the line-up laid down a blueprint of what was to come. But all those present could already feel that this first edition was more than just a festival; it was a testament to the power of music to transcend barriers and unite souls. As the first chapter in Tomorrowland’s storied history drew to a close, it was clear that this was only the beginning of an epic fairytale, one that would continue to captivate and inspire for years to come.

Afrojack, who didn’t grow up with him? One of the reasons he’s still so relevant today is that he’s never been afraid to explore new musical alleyways. Over the course of his career, Afrojack has produced Dutch house, big-room bangers, trap, future house, moombahton, trap, techno and electro house. Now let that sink in… Recent releases include a thumping techno version of Salt-NPepa’s ‘Push It’ (with Hardwell), the dreamy cut ‘Underwater’ (with Dubvision), and a collab with Timmy Trumpet & Lil Jon on this festival’s very own label Tomorrowland Music: the ultra-hectic ‘We Can’t Stop’. Afrojack’s sets are a treat filled with bangers from the past and present, so if you haven’t seen the man before, make sure to catch him on the Mainstage!

Visionary Italian duo Tale of Us founded their iconic label Afterlife in 2016, and are now returning to Tomorrowland to curate their very own line-up at the Freedom stage, inviting artists like Anyma, Argy, Chris Avantgarde, Kevin de Vries, MRAK, and Olympe. And don’t miss the grand finale at the stage: the duo themselves will close the hosting during what is set to be one great performance of their incomparable trance-infused strand of techno. ‘Pure power’, ‘just happiness’ and ‘goosebumps’ are among the many superlatives expressed by the duo’s fans after last year’s performance. Are you ready?

“THE HARMONIOUS VOICE OF NATURE: FROM THE SOUL TO THE COSMIC SYMPHONY”

Gifted with a creative kind of hyperactivity, this boy wonder from the east of the Netherlands has released on a wide range of legendary house labels including Strictly Rhythm, Rejected, Saved, and Defected. Franky has been prolific and hard-working throughout his career, but it is only now, in 2024, that things have really started to sink in with ravers all over the Netherlands and beyond. Still young at 35, but not quite tender anymore, this is the year that he is set to release his debut album, selling out venues like Thuishaven and playing four-hour sets at Amsterdam’s famous Gashouder as a bonus. Go dance to the sounds of Franky Rizardo, now that he’s in his prime!

An activist as much as she’s a DJ and producer, Marea Stamper, aka the Blessed Madonna, has always been serious about fighting for equal rights for everyone, even if she recognises that she only represents ‘one piece of the puzzle’. Musically and vibe-wise, being from the Midwest, her heart is very close to the original club culture of that region, which encompasses Chicago, the birthplace of house music. She has also collaborated with mainstream artists such as Dua Lipa, Missy Elliott and Madonna, however. During the Covid period, Stamper spoke out about feelings of loneliness and hope and these were words that inspired many people, including Fred Again.., who sampled them on the track ‘Marea (We’ve Lost Dancing)’. Let’s celebrate the life-enhancing sounds of The Blessed Madonna, now that dancing has returned to our lives!
