A FEAST FOR THE EARS In the Kingdom of Melodia, wherever you are, there is always music to be heard. The sweet serenades of Carl Cox and his friends at the Opera stage, for instance. Or the uplifting, melodic hymns that TranceAddict brings to bear. At the Mainstage, you can jump and stomp to your heart’s content with W&W, Nicky Romero, Steve Aoki and the others, while Aoki’s very own Dim Mak stage turns the music up a notch or two elsewhere. Besides all that, there are many more styles to listen to, from oldschool to deep to QULT’s unique Subground sound. Be sure to taste them all!

Citizens of Melodia,

HEAR THE KING SPEAK! Today, the Castle gates will open and the King of Melodia will hold his first address. Be sure to make your way to the Mainstage in time to listen to his tales.

THE KINGDOM’S HIDDEN CORNERS In a land as big as Melodia, it’s easy to lose track of where you want to go. Over the next few days, this newspaper will serve as your guide to Tommorrowland. Not only metaphorically, but also literally: as an introduction, we show you around the little-known spots and secret hideaways you can explore all across the grounds. Today, we introduce you to the Rave Cave and the chillout beach beneath the One World bridge. What good is a beach without water? Well – once you’ve come across the

one between stages 8 and 10 on the map, you’ll know. Tucked away beneath one of the far ends of the One World bridge is a magical little place to take off your shoes, feel the sand shift beneath your feet and relax completely. The spot is adorned with magical plants to sit on, a covering with hammocks for taking a quick nap, lights, and even slowly revolving disco balls. Located between the backs of two podia, it sees relatively little traffic and background noise. So if you really need a breath of some of Melodia’s freshest air, now you know where to go.

To return visitors our second spot might not be much of a surprise, but others might walk right past it: the Rave Cave. Dug out in a hillside off the main road from Mainstage (12) to Mythical Frames stage (4), it’s designated on your map by the number 6 and in real life by literally underground raving. It’s a charming little corner, the ground overhead held up by a brick archway and the crew inside always having fun. For a break from the Mainstage madness, for some smooth moves in a more intimate setting, look no further than this marvelous cavern.

Back from the cockpit, the crowd is still ecstatic. It’s an unreal sight to see an airplane full of people with glow-in-the-dark sticks bouncing and fist-pumping their way to the madness. That feeling is shared by Corina and Sylvia, from Frankfurt. “I’ve wanted to go to Tomorrowland ever since I was 18, but I never really had someone to go with,” Corina says. Ready for a weekend full of new friends and memories that’ll last a lifetime.

Morning shines upon the lush fields of DreamVille for the first time again, and it is time for you to wake up. Yesterday was an exhausting day, full of travel and long; you hauled your tents, your luggage, yourself all the way to DreamVille, you set up camp... And then there was The Gathering to look forward to. Surely, your legs feel a little sore – but hey, no better cure for that than the prospect of entering the Kingdom of Melodia, right? Before your leave for the festival proper, however, look around a bit. There’s more to do at DreamVille than ever before. On the following pages, you can learn all about the attractions of the Marketplace and read what your fellow campers have to say about the weekend. Rest assured, though, that these page don’t offer nearly enough space to describe all of DreamVille – so after reading, roll out of your tent and into the great wide open!

BREAKING FAST WITH… Greg has traveled all around Europe with two good friends from Austalia. One of the last places they’re visiting is Tomorrowland, and of course this should be the highlight of their journey. Greg also knows what to share with Natalie, Corey and David, new friends he’s just made here: “Just take some rice waffles with peanut butter and cashew nuts! Quite healthy and more importantly: it just tastes very good. Oh, and don’t forget the tuna of course! Tuna is a source of protein, exactly what you need to survive a festival like this. It’s the perfect meal to prepare your body for a long weekend.” Feel free to join him today!

TIP FOR TOMORROW

DreamVille is a beautiful place, but we need each other to keep it like that. Today’s tip to help you recycle: set up trashcans and ashtrays as soon as you arrive! Use a sturdy tent pole, chair or something similar to attach that big red trash bag you received to. And for good measure, cut a can in half or use an empty cup as an ashtray. If you do this right away, it’s much easier to dispose of your waste properly from the start.

People will come and ask to hear this or that song, say hi to their friends or just to cling their faces to our windows like turtles.”

Broadcasting pretty much all day and night, these radio stars work long hours. Bram: “Yeah, we don’t catch much sleep (laughs). We’re broadcasting until 3 a.m. and then we still have to prepare for the next day. And from midnight until 2 a.m. we’re hosting late night DJ-sets by some of The Gathering’s finest spinners. We’re working hard but needless to say this is all great fun. You sort of collect the music and the atmosphere and you shoot it right back through the speakers and over the airwaves. We’ve got some reporters on the field that do their very best to capture the full experience. That way we can share some of the Tomorrowland uniqueness with the people that are listening to the radio at home.”

The sound of the camping It’s almost impossible to imagine DreamVille without the uplifting sounds of DreamVille Radio. This custom made radio show has been broadcasting since 2011 and they’re not even thinking about stopping. With DreamVille growing each year, there was also a growing need for a relaxing background soundtrack for in the showers and during breakfast and lunch. And so, DreamVille Radio was born. In this fifth year, they will reach the milestone of 200 hours of broadcast made live at DreamVille. That includes sessions with some of the greatest DJ’s in the scene, like Romeo Blanco, Wolfpack, Raving George, Aeroplane, Yves V and of course Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike!

RING THE BELL WITH DESPERADOS Remember how FeestDJRuud bombarded the Desperados stage with inflatable animals last year? That surely was a spectacle! And as Tomorrowland prides itself in doing it better, bigger and bolder every year, this weekend you’re in for a real treat. Every hour there will be a loud and clear call to action and you’ll be able to ring the bell hanging over the Desperados Club. Work together, climb on each other’s shoulders and form a human trapeze in order to ring the bell and unleash the madness, as if it were some huge, ringing party pinata. Desperados will bomb you with ammo for a pillow-fight, balloons, confetti, inflatable objects and much, much more. To accompany this hanky-panky of colourful items falling from the sky, the Desperados Club will offer a magical blend of soulful house, tremendous trap and uplifting mash-ups. With headliners Felix Da Housecat and Dominik Eulberg, combined with Belgium’s finest like Goldfox, Sheridan and Ugur Yurt, Desperados isn’t just a refreshing beverage – it’s musically refreshing too!

SUMMER COLLECTION In a kingdom where the people are as beautiful as those of Melodia, everyone wants to look their best. And what kind of outfit is better suited to this weekend than the official Tomorrowland Collection? At the stores located behind the Mainstage, by the festival’s day entrance, between the Rave Cave and the Boathouse stage and by the DreamVille Marketplace, you can shop to your heart’s content for the finest clothes Melodia has to offer. Alternatively, you can buy the items you want later at store.tomorrowland.com – be careful though, as some things might be sold out. This year’s Tomorrowland Summer Collection has been entirely renewed, so there’s something new for return visitors too.

There’s hardly a name so intimately connected with lovemaking as Durex. This year at Tomorrowland, Durex aims to connect people to each other in the old-school, face-to-face way: partying with love instead of through screens and chats. Their stand behind the mainstage offers a number of colour-coded tattoos that let you display what kind of love you want this weekend. There’s three versions: one that says you just want to make some friends, one that says you’ve already found your boo and, of course, a message to indicate you’re looking for some loving. Besides the tattoos, there’s a fun social media game to enjoy anyway. Durex has installed a photobooth that couples or friends can enter to have their picture taken. If you do that and tag your photo on facebook.com/ durexbelgium, then get all your friends to ‘like’ it, you stand a chance to win a special trip to Ibiza with a Tomorrowland Party Experience. Think about it: all you have to do is find someone with the same tattoo as you, have some fun, and before you know it you’ll be on the world’s most famous party island!

The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

BACK HOME AT LAST The Gathering is that one special start to an amazing weekend full of wonderful surprises. It’s the first page in a metaphorical book full of memories that we take home and cherish for the rest of our lives. And oh, how the People of Tomorrow gathered again this time, to celebrate being in such a wonderful place, to let love rule and to enjoy the gift of music. If this massive yearly meet-up would have an anthem to it, it would be Bob Marley’s One Love/People Get Ready, especially that line Let’s get together and feel all right – injected with some massive bass lines and a huge drop somewhere in the middle. After coming from different places all over the world, from different countries, ages and origins, The Gathering is the place to start the adventure, make new friends and get a glimpse of what is yet to come. Like Jade and Phuong from California, Florida, who’ve travelled 15 hours straight to get where they are now. “It took us a flight, some horrible delays and a train ride from Cologne, but now that we’re here it’s amazing. Everything is way more impressive than we expected. We can’t wait to visit the grounds tomorrow and share lots of love, fun and laughter.”

This place will be a safe haven to the temporary inhabitants of the city called DreamVille. Belgian couple Koen and Sissi have claimed their spot and seem very relaxed and at ease. “It’s even more beautiful than we expected, all the decorations are crazy and the effort put into it is astonishing. We’ve been looking forward to this weekend for two years now. Unfortunately we didn’t get any tickets last year. We are really looking forward to the big DJs like Dimitri Vegas.” Among the crowds there’s also a big group of people who came in from Russia: “We are really looking forward to meeting people from all over the world and different cultures, enjoying the great music and well… Maybe getting a little bit tipsy at the end of the night.” Now that everybody has found their spot, put up their tent, met up with their lost buddies and fastened their country’s flag to themselves, or a flag pole, The Gathering is exploding with joy. It provides a sturdy underground to the first dance steps of the weekend, a place to let loose all the excitement gathered over the past year. All that’s left to say here is: welcome home, People of Tomorrow – this was a magical start to Tomorrowland 2015.

GOLDFOX: “It’s now my second year playing The Gathering. This spot is fantastic because it’s the people’s first Tomorrowland experience, the first party that they dance to, so people go wild. Music-wise The Gathering is a recap of this year’s greatest hits, but I’ll also slip in some brand new stuff.”

DJAXX & NEUROTIQUE: “The atmosphere was great, we don’t want to exaggerate but we actually think it’s been one of our best sets up to date. We had high expectations and are experienced DJs, but this was more than we expected. The people also gave us a lot of freedom in the stuff we played”.

United From Afar SOMETIMES FLAGS SEPARATE COUNTRIES FROM EACH OTHER... ...but most of the time they unite their people. Especially in this case. ‘Brazil and Luxembourg united forever.’ A custom-made flag, brought to The Gathering by a Luxembourgian guy and a Belgium Brazilian girl. And they will go next year too. So, in a way, we are still united.”

A GUY FROM GREECE... ...living in Doha (Quatar), meeting his German friend at The Gathering. How did that happen? “Well, shit happens!” Christian says. He actually just arrived and still has to unpack. “No, I will share our history with you. When I was a kid me and my parents moved from Greece to Germany. So I grew up there. As a teenager, I developed a love for motorbikes. Moped bikes, specifically. I had to get my driver’s license, so I did just that when I turned 18.” This is where the story of Max comes in. They met in class and shared their love for Moped bikes. Nowadays, the two live on different continents, but still feel united. The Mopeds have moved to the background slightly, but they still have a lot in common. “We love music, we love Tomorrowland and we love each other! For us, Tomorrowland is the best place to celebrate our friendship.”

ABBAS AND KENNY MET A FEW YEARS AGO IN SINGAPORE... ...Kenny, from the land down under, decided to go to Singapore to search for a job. “I spent one of my first nights there drinking in a bar. I asked a guy for a cigarette. It was Abbas. Apparently, he just bought a new pack so he offered me two.” A new friendship was born. A couple of weeks ago they started travelling in Europe, separately. Kenny went to Amsterdam, London and Paris. Abbas spent some time in Berlin. But the final destination was long set: Tomorrowland. They met early morning and are now sharing their stories with each other at The Gathering. “We have seen a lot of new places, met a lot of new people. It’s nice to see a friend again.” Abbas brought another friend from Singapore. It’s her first time in Europe. “There couldn’t be a better place to fall in love with this continent!”

Off the Hook With

North Sea Delicacies The seaweed is always greener in somebody else’s ocean, but the bottom of the North Sea holds some of Belgium’s finest delicacies. Belgian mussels in a beautiful setting: that’s what you can expect at Tomorrowland this year. The festival has become home to the Oesterput, the famous shellfish and crustacean restaurant at Blankenberge, to serve to visitors the best mussels in the world. They will be preceded by and appetizer of freshly peeled, delicious shrimp. For this occasion, Chef Piet Devriendt has created a Tomorrowland version of his famous seafood dish. What more could you possibly ask for?

Pieter Devriendt: “We’re bringing our famous restaurant, De Oesterput, to Tomorrowland. We’ll be cooking up some famous dishes which will be accompanied by a refreshing beer or a nice glass of wine. For starters there’s a seafood salad that we built around the well-known North Sea prawns from Zeebrugge. These prawns were peeled by hand and they are a true statement of the freshness and quality we wish to maintain even on the festival grounds. The main course obviously consists out of Belgian mussels with a side of Belgian fries or bread. There’s mussels ‘natuur’ (with fresh vegetables), mussels with white wine, the famous mussels ‘Oesterput’... And for this occasion we also made a special Tomorrowland version of our mussels, with a sauce containing scallion, honey and soy sauce – you’ll definitely want to try this one out!”

It’s the first time the Oesterput is a part of the variety of cuisines Tomorrowland offers and Pieter is more than delighted about this. “This is a truey unique opportunity for us. The atmosphere is just amazing. It’s always great fun to take your kitchen on the road, we’ve been cooking on some other big festivals the last couple of years, but Tomorrowland is like a whole different league. We see it as some sort of a window to the world, a chance to have people from other countries and other cultures become acquainted with our typically Belgian food – which we are very, very proud of, by the way.” Working on a festival where it might just be even hotter outside of the kitchen, fortunately Pieter has a little spare time to enjoy the madness himself. “After our shift we’re lucky enough to have a few hours left to go dancing. I’ve visited

23

the festival over the last two years and every time again it’s blown my mind. For my father - Chef Piet Devriendt and a lot of my colleagues this is the very first time and they have been looking forward to Tomorrowland for months. We’ve cooked at a lot of festivals and even made some mussels at home with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, but being able to introduce the Oesterput at Tomorrowland is truly a dream come true!” If you’re up for a nice pot of mussels and a fresh pint of beer, hurry up, because the Oesterput at Tomorrowland still has a few vacant tables for you to fill! You can register on www.tastesoftheworld.com.

I LOVE THE 90’S

QULT

DIM MAK

This stage takes you on a trip down memory lane. Some of the most iconic dance music heroes of the 90’s are playing their hits from the past, recreating that good old happy hardcore atmosphere that the decade is so (in)famous for. Resident DJ Ward will open the stage at noon, returning again at 10 p.m. when the party is really going off. Guido Pernet, the hardcore pioneer representing the classic Human Resource quartet, closes this stage with a set during which you can doubtlessly dance and jump the soles off your shoes. Go back to the 90’s at number 13 on your map.

When it comes to raw, fresh underground sounds, the QULT stage surely knows how to pick a line-up. In the mystical fairy paradise that is Tomorrowland, QULT strikes a darker and very powerful note. The line-up consists of some of the most cutting edge artists throughout the ‘subground’ genre, such as Geck-o, Phrantic and S1ngular. This being the first day of the festival, you still have the energy you are going to need when you pay this beautifully decorated stage a visit! You can find the hard hitters of Tomorrowland at number 7 on your map.

At Dim Mak, expect full-on madness. Label founder Steve Aoki is famous for his crazy antics during shows, throwing pies everywhere, spraying champagne on the audience and jumping on airbeds from the stage. The music his Dim Mak friends make suits that craziness perfectly. Among the ones Aoki brought to Tomorrowland are big shots like Deorro and Keys N Krates, who will move from one climax on to the next one in no time. If you are looking for a stage to enjoy the hottest EDM bangers and go completely wild, number 4 on your map is the place to be.

NICK VAN DE WALL – SOME OF YOU MIGHT WONDER WHO THAT IS. WITH A GIG ARCHIVE NUMBERING INTO THE THOUSANDS, AN EPONYMOUS RECORDS LABEL AND A PRODIGIOUS PRODUCTION CAREER UNDER HIS BELT, VAN DE WALL IS SOMEWHAT BETTER KNOWN AS HIS ALTER EGO, AFROJACK.

Hailing from the Dutch town of Spijkenisse, Nick has been hard at work on a superstar DJ career since his teenage years. He first made it to his home country’s charts in the late 2000’s and quickly started working with the world’s biggest pop stars; he has collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Whiz Khalifa and Sting to his name as well as remixes for Madonna and Lady Gaga. And that’s only a small selection of his enormous body of work over the past eight years. Afrojack has become a household name in EDM, someone who tries to bridge the gap with pop music as much he can. Today, however, he takes a step back from explosive mainstage sets and plays for two and a half hours – under his birth name. With a discography as impressive as Nick’s, it’s not unthinkable that it will contain a lot of his own work, but it’s also pretty sure to be a trip down ‘dirty’ (or ‘Dutch’) house memory lane. One of the direct precursors of modern-day mainstage EDM, this was arguably the most popular electronic genre in the Netherlands and Europe in general in the late 2000’s, and Afrojack was one of its forerunners. Today’s Daybreak Session is a house history lesson by one of the driving forces of the genre.

COONE FOCUS ON MAGICAL FRIDAY DIM MAK | 00h15 - 01h00

From a young age, Coone has been mesmerized by music in all its different shapes and forms. The creation of his successful label Dirty Workz was a huge step in this young man’s career, allowing him to take his music beyond even his own expectations. Besides, it’s given new talents within hard dance a respectable platform to launch new and exciting sounds into the scene. We sat down with the mind behind it all for a spot of explanation. Do you consider Tomorrowland a home game? “Absolutely! This is nearly in my backyard. I live in Turnhout, so this just a couple of kilometres away from my home. So I just love to come back to the festival grounds of De Schorre. My foreign colleagues are very jealous that these are, like, my neighbours!” This weekend it will be your 11th time at the festival. Are you planning anything special? “I just hope to improve myself every year, and that the DJ crew notices my efforts and my progress. With my sets I want to convince the big shots that hardstyle may just earn its place on the Mainstage. In this respect, The Gathering is a unique chance to prove myself and show the world that hardstyle is big. But every time I come here it’s a blast! The most memorable time was probably when I played the Mainstage with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Another great thing was closing the Dim Mak Stage last year. Those were definetly my most precious Tomorrowland moments. You know, there’s three sorts of crowds, the way I see

it: the Mainstage-crowd, the more label-based smaller stage crowd like Dim Mak, and the Q-dance crowd. All three of them have their merits and I love ‘em all, but if I had to choose I would just love to hit that Mainstage again!” One of your most recent releases is Into The Madness, did you make that one especially for Tomorrowland? “Yeah, it does have a small wink towards the festival. I premiered it at the festival last year and – this is an exclusive one – Friday we’ll also be presenting another very fresh and brand new Coone track! It’s the perfect opportunity to show the world my newest work.” You also remixed rock band Linkin Park. Is there a correlation between rock and hardstyle? “My label-boss Steve Aoki is a good friend of the Linkin Park guys and I am a huge fan of Fort Minor – Linkin Park rapper Mike Shinoda’s side project.

29

So when I heard that Steve was working on Linkin Park’s new album I just had to be part of it. I called Steve and urged him to make it happen. It was pretty surreal being in contact with Mike Shinoda, one of my ultimate heroes. So it’s not really a rock-hardstyle thing, it’s just the fanboy that took the best of me (laughs).” You’re playing The Gathering on Thursday, the Dim Mak Stage on Friday and the Q-Dance on Saturday. Do you approach each set differently? “In a way, yeah. The set I played at The Gathering was slightly more commercial ‘cause over there, you’re playing for a more general crowd. But have no fear: every set I play will be 100% Coone!”

That's why it is called present. hometown that much anymore, though, especially not after dropping that mindboggling Daftastic track back in 2011 on Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings. On top of that, his debut entry in DJ Mag Top 100 poll was the highest new entry ever. Of course this has everything to do with his hard, driving bass lines, enchanting melodies and vigorously energetic drops that will get you jumping within seconds. Dyro’s future certainly is promising with a distinctive sound, some great collaborations and his own record label, WOLV. And for the ones who just can’t get enough of him, he’s introduced his Youtube series Dyro’s Diaries, giving you a sneak peek into his life as well as behind-the-scenes footage.

Hailing form the UK comes wAFF, just in his 20’s and already exceeding everyone’s expectations. Selfexpression comes naturally with this former dancer and actor. The gifted young man started fiddling with production software about 10 years ago. He didn’t come out of his musical shell that easily and instead he eagerly perfected his musical abilities for several years, waiting for that perfect hit to go big. His career skyrocketed when the well-crafted track Jo Johnson got released back in 2012. It didn’t take long for guys like Jamie Jones, Sven Väth and Cajmere to notice this too. Since then he and his positive vibes have been elevating the energy level at the biggest house clubs and festivals all over the world. From his warm and red-hot Space InvadaZ to the anthemic Love, this is the music you that will keep you going all night.

CAZZETTE 18h15 - 19h30 | Cafeina Yeah, you guessed right. Cazzette is named after those odd-looking cassette tapes that were used before the digital realm was invented. And if you didn’t know that, you must have missed the giant cassette tape masks they wear on stage. The extraordinary Swedish duo consists of Alexander Björklund and Sebastian Furrer, who met each other through the old-school platform Myspace. They’ve paved their musical pathway with gold by otherworldly hits like Blind Heart and Together (ft. Newtimers), creating something distinctively different from the rest of the Swedish EDM explosion that was topping the charts a few years ago. It was soon clear that these guys have a sensual way of blending genres together, from house to slick R&B and groovy disco sounds. This can create sets which go from 90 bpm up to 135 bpm until a fast-passing 160 and then back again. Surely you want to see that.

ALESSO 20h30 - 21h30 | Mainstage

Alesso’s way to stardom is certainly peculiar one. He became highly addicted to electronic music at the age of 16,

which then had a catalyst effect on him. He started to figure out bit by bit how to produce, mix and master his own music, with a little help from an all-time favourite: Sebastian Ingrosso. Alesso’s personal imprint is clearly visible in his handful of releases: he chooses quality over quantity and wants sheer perfection. Which makes the listener happy, because all of his tracks have that typical, energetic flow and ‘Alesso’ feel to them. Signing to the legendary Def Jam Recordings meant the release of his brand new album Forever. This album is a mix of all sorts of music, showing his diversity as an artist and producer. And how does he keep up this tempo? Well – with a fairly intense coffee addiction, to say the least.

MAGICAL FRIDAY

The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

We are very excited to come back to Tomorrowland for the second year in a row. We think that it’s fair to say that Belgium is well-known for their delicious beers and amazing chocolate, but for us and probably every single fan of Electronic Dance Music (in its widest sense) it is this amazing festival, held every year in this little city called Boom. There’s something about this festival that is hard to explain. It’s more than just a festival, it’s a community. People who visit Tomorrowland don’t just visit a festival, they enter a different world which becomes their own for these 3 days in mid-summer July. Last year was the first time we got to enter this ‘world’ ourselves and we were lucky enough to be able to play both of the 10 year anniversary weekends. Tomorrowland is, in our eyes, pretty much the ultimate festival for every DJ and this definitely applies to Dirtcaps as well. That’s why we want to do something special with shows like this. We always try out new music and think of cool ways to make our set something special and give the people something new, fresh & exciting. We think it’s really cool that the line-up this year is full of variety. It’s not only EDM or Progressive but there are a lot of cool stages that offer completely different genres and/or concepts. We think stages like QULT or the Barong Family stage hosted by Yellow Claw are good examples of the diversity in the Tomorrowland programme. It’s not mainstream only; it’s different, innovative and open-minded. It’s so dope to see that the most famous festival worldwide programs that way and serves its complete audience to its own personal taste. We can’t wait to see all of you on Friday the 24th at the QULT stage for yet another edition of this amazing festival!

SOLOMUN

21h30 - 23h00 | Carl Cox & Friends

The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

This well-respected producer has played a major role in redefining European house music. Solomun’s underground status is enormous, getting the credit he deserves after residencies at Ibiza, his own parties and his Diynamic label, which releases some of the finest House out there. His high spirits and relaxed attitude towards life are reflected in the music he makes. Creating the stuff that makes people lose their minds, hearts, fears, and souls, that makes part of the musical experience that he represents – it’s real wizardry if you ask us. Between doing shows and travelling the world he’s also got some time for his own productions, like one of his latest tracks called Friends. A laidback and cheerful tune that makes you think about long nights and early sunsets, it has been released on one of Solomun’s newest projects: a brand new label called 2DIY4, which is Diynamics’ little sister.

MARKUS SCHULZ

SIDNEY SAMSON

00h00 - 01h00 | TranceAddict

19h30 - 20h00 | V Sessions

When it comes to trance Mark Schulz is the veteran you want to hear. Schulz has been given the somewhat odd nickname of ‘Unicorn Slayer’, due to his dark, fast and aggressive melodies, chucking out some of the fluffy stuff you sometimes hear.

Riverside Motherf*cker! That’s one of the first things that come to mind when you think of Sidney Samson. But of course there’s a lot more to this guy than that one monster of a hit. Sidney loves DJ’ing but is a producer first, working together and crafting sounds with people like Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki, Will.I.Am, and Pitbull. Starting out with R&B and hip-hop tunes, he soon became influenced by the burgeoning Dutch house music scene and immediately switched to that sound. Playing the Matrixx, one of the biggest clubs in Holland, is where things really took off. After years of ongoing success Sidney is still responsible for club bangers like Thunderbolt (with Justin Prime) and Torrent (with Martin Garrix). And to top things off, he recently started exploring a new frontier by creating his own record label. Artificial Recordings is the imprint to watch for some amazing new music.

With over 20 years of experience this man has created his own sound, mixing in progressive, house, and trance into one big melting pot. He feels at peace when he’s behind the decks at a club or festival, no matter the size of the crowd on the floor. In his musical career he’s delivered over five artist albums, a dozen compilations and loads of singles and remixes, numbering into impressive double digits. There’s no hipster haircut, no twitter beefs, just making the stuff he likes. This guy is truly all about music, and if you still don’t believe it, just go see for yourself at the TranceAddict stage.
