Here’s what we got up to
Welcome to
COVeR:
Autumn ‘16 Hello, this season, as well as our usual menu of theatre, comedy, music and special events, we’ve created a brand new programme called #ToMtech (p4-8), where we ask theatre makers and tech experts what entertainment looks like at the edge of new technology. and trust us - it’s bea-u-ti-ful. Want something for all the family? the hilarious le navet Bete (p12) are back, so follow the yellow brick road for more ridiculously stupid laughs. and boy, do we need a laugh right now. let off steam with the rest of our comedy season, featuring the award-winning Mark Thomas (p18), sam simmons (p11), Jason Byrne (p17) and the enigmatic Tape Face (p19). our new film series ToM’s Film club (p9) kicks off with a modern classic. and for theatre-goers, gary Mcnair (p10) returns with a poignant tale of a boy, his grandad, and one extraordinary bet. Jazz fans are spoilt for choice with both the Brighton alternative Jazz Festival (p9) and anglo-american jazz supergroup The impossible gentlemen (p14), and for the rest, rising stars lake street dive (p20), Parquet courts (p13), and dMa’s (p16) lead the charge. there’s late night fun in the form of soul casserole and club click’s (p16) fresh and funky Studio 54-inspired night, and long-running favourite White Mink (p11) returns with a new cabaret-era Berlin feel. So come to the cabaret, old chum! We’ll see you there.
