I'M THE KING OF 2

Sessions - p8

WE ARE BACK... ... and boy howdy, we missed you. We cannot say thank you enough for your constant support throughout this tough time - it is thanks to you, we are now back, and ready to do what we do best. Our re-opening highlights include the world premiere of WES BANDERSON (p16), a brand new six-piece multi-instrumental outfit that will be performing tracks from all the iconic Wes Anderson films (and a few hidden gems as well). This event is being presented thanks to funds raised from our Gig for a Gig event with Fatboy Slim in 2019. To find out more about the scheme, be sure to check out our website.

Our theatre programme kicks off with the brilliant SESSIONS (p8), presented by TOM-favourites Paines Plough (the team behind Every Brilliant Thing and Pop Music) and Soho Theatre. It's a fantastic story by the exciting new playwright, Ifeyinwa Frederick - one to watch out for. As well as all of this, we have a fantastic season of comedy, including sets by EMILY ATACK (p9) and TEZ ILYAS (p12). We also have the return of the popular BHAC POETRY FESTIVAL (p14), live music from STACEY KENT (p13) and SAM LEE (p11), a vintage market courtesy of THE BRIGHTON KILO (p6) and more. We’ll see you soon,

Team TOM

RIVAL CONSOLES + KAYLA PAINTER

Ryan Lee West, aka Rival Consoles, returns to Brighton after his last sold-out show at the Green Door Store in 2019. In 2020, the electronic artist released his latest album, Articulation. The album was conceived with a very visual way of thinking, an unusual style for the Londonbased musician and producer. During the writing process, he drew structures, shapes, and patterns by hand in an attempt to find new ways of thinking about music. This process also allowed him to explore problem-solving away from the constraints of computers and traditional technology.

ONE MEAL A LIFETIME IN THE MAKING WITH JAY RAYNER It’s your last meal on earth. What are you going to have? It’s the question award-winning restaurant critic and MasterChef judge Jay Rayner has been asked most often by audiences across the UK. Finally, he’s set out to answer it. In this barnstorming new show, Rayner examines our fascination with last meals and tells the stories behind the ingredients that would be on his menu: how he was introduced to oysters by his late mother, for example, or how he almost torched a hotel through his love for snails. He’ll also get the audience to design their own last meal. It’s a show to die for.
