6 Community Development
The new Airy Park community will feature 25 retail spaces for boutique stores and small restaurants, as well as basic service such as child care and beauty salons. A boulevard will run through the center, with mixed use buildings running along each side. Single-family and multi-family homes are arranged throughout the neighborhood, focused specifically in the eastern-most section in a terrace formation, overlooking Mt Airy Forrest. Additional support to the retail center will come from the north, where there are single-family and multi-family dwellings in high density.

8 Community Development
The boulevard running the length of the retail center will create a small community feel, with walkable streets and a safe path running down the center for leisurely walks. The street will end in a large roundabout, in the center of which will be a wide, grassy and open park for children to play in, which will be surrounded by single family homes.

A major close by project underway is the effort to turn an old railway into a pedestrian and bike path. The Wasson Way path would connect Xavier University to the Little Miami Bike Trails, and give 120,000 people, living within one mile of the trail, access to a network of over 100 miles of bike and pedestrian trails. By upgrading the main roads with a specialized and separate bike lane, the business district would be easily and safely accessible to a wider variety of people who may be passing by via the Wasson Way bike path. In addition, residents of Hyde Park would be able to easily access the new bike path for recreation use.

The newly renovated streets will feature metered parking on both sides, with one traffic lane each direction and a turning lane in the center. On one side of the street, there will be a bike lane with room for bikers going each way. The bike lane will be separated from traffic by the parking lane for safety. On the outside of the traffic and bike lanes, there will be a landscaped median and then a pedestrian sidewalk on the outer most layer.

18 Neighborhood Analysis
Redevelopment site is located Downtown at Sycamore and 12th streets. Blight and crime make the area unwelcoming and under used. Located near the new Casino that opened in March 2013, and Downtown businesses and employers, the area has a huge amount of development potential. This redevelopment will improve the overall impression of the area and the neighborhood.

Utilizing the nearby Casino as business potential, the implementation of mixed-use development with ground floor high-end retail will bring economic benefit. In addition, there will be upper floor apartments/ condos, and office space, with an underground parking structure for residents and employees.
