REFLECT Existing Conditions Features & Constraints
Durng the idea formulation phase of the project, we completed many excercises to better understand the neighborhood. We identified sttrengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and more. To the left are our visual interpretation of all the important features that would shape and constrain any plan we produce. Vine Street and Main Street Corridors

REFLECT Existing Conditions Previous Studies
To further our knowledge of the neighborhood as well as inspiration for our plans, we took a look at the 2002 Overthe-Rhine Comprehensive Plan and 2013 Brewery District Master Plan. We also acquired traffic counts to important streets in our thought process such as Liberty Street,

REFLECT Concept Map Concepts & Phases
As we continued to study the neighborhood, we discovered that before we could revitalize the neighborhood we had to recconnect it. This could be accomplished by reshaping the barrier that is now Liberty Street. Afterwards we could then revitalize and develop the characcter of the neighborhood. Phase II
In Phase I our plan is to calm traffic on Liberty Street and to make it more pedestrian friendly to better connect the northern and Southern Portions of Over-the-Rhine. Phase II involves developing the gateways into Over-the-Rhine to be more welcoming and not just a place that people pass through.
Phase III
Phase III is the reshaping of McMicken street, recognizing that some of the traffic that used to be on Liberty may have been redirected to McMicken.

An integral part of our plan to make Liberty Street a connector and not a provider was to make the street multi-modal. For this reason, we have included protected bike lanes, pedestrian bump outs, and a median for easier crossing.

One of the most problem-causing intersections in the neighborhood currently is the intersection of Liberty and Central where to very busy streets create trafffic and pedestrian nightmares. Our plan is to introduce a roundabout to this intersection to keep traffic flowing at a maneable speed. This roundabout could also be a good opportunity for a public art feature as a gateway.

R E V I TA L I Z E Phase II Frintz Alley
In Phase II we hope to develop the many gateways of Over-the-Rhine. One in particular is Frintz Alley, which dead ends into a set of steps leading up to Mt. Auburn. Our plan is to create a pedestrian only street where people can feel comfortable, and relax, and also a place where public events could be held.
R E V I TA L I Z E Phase II Grant Playground
At another gateway is Grant Playground, likely the first public green space one sees if they are coming from the north. It is blessed to be in a wonderful location and our plan hopes to improve on the park for the residents while also serving as a more welcoming and greener place for people passing by..
R E V I TA L I Z E Phase III McMicken Street
Realizing that some traffic may end up going down McMicken now that Liberty Street is slower moving, in Phase III we hope to make sure that McMicken becomes even more pedestrian friendly and not the barrier that Liberty Street is today while also improving upon the streetsscape with street strees, lights, and wayfinding signs.
