Welcome to the shortest month of the year! February may be the shortest month of the year but it sure doesn’t lack for action! There are tons of things happening here in Florida during February and it all starts with the Super Bowl that takes place February 1st at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Let’s hope the visitors pump “mucho-dollars” into our local economy! Two weeks later, Valentine’s Day takes center stage and you all better not forget the love of your life. Nothing says I love you like flowers, candy and a romantic dinner. Oh yeah, maybe a nice card says it better but you know what I mean! It’s also a nice time to tell your mom how much she means to you and that you love her! Don’t forget our weekly Bike Night that happens at the Green Iguana on Anderson Road every Thursday night. The Iguana is a fantastic place to party and after you make your first visit, there is no doubt you’ll return ... check out the cheesy-cheesy burger it rocks! The end of February gives us Bike Week 2009! The fun all starts on 2/27 and Full Throttle will be all over Daytona! See us at Boot Hill on Main Street, JP Cycles at Destination Daytona and the Iron Horse in Ormond Beach. We will also be at the Rats Hole Show, the Boardwalk Bike Show and we will once again host our annual “Let’s Get Crazy Party” at the Americano Hotel. Check the March issue for details! Our Florida Motorcycle Expo was a huge success as we had perfect weather and record breaking crowds. Thanks to all the vendors, sponsors and people who attended the event. We will have a complete recap in next month’s issue. I want to wish a Happy Valentine’s Day and a Happy Birthday to my wonderful wife Tracy ... I love you babyhead! B-Days wishes also go out to Erica Thomas, Val Swetay and Mary Cianci! Have a great month!
Well, I waited on my article for the last possible minute so I can announce and congratulate the winner of the 2009 GEICO Bike Builders Invitational who was Independent Cycles with Hammered! If you went to the Expo, and around 10,000 of you did, if was the white bike against the back wall. Congratulations to all the winners and everyone who had a bike entered in the Builders Invitational. There are pictures on our website now and there will be an entire recap of all the winners and the events that happened in the March (Bike Week) issue. There was a record turn out this year and we would also like to thank everyone who came out to enjoy the show and especially the vendors and sponsors who make this whole thing happen. I would like to take this time to welcome two new advertisers to the Full Throttle Family as well. Bill Church with Quaker Steak and Lube has been a great advertiser for many years and has decided to move his advertising to the centerfold of Full Throttle Magazine for the next couple of months to help get the word out about all the great events, charity rides and benefits he has on a regular basis. I would also like to welcome Al Estes Bailbonds back. They were advertisers with us a long time ago and decided to give us a shot again to help them bring business. And remember, like his shirts he hands out says….”Support Your Local Bail Bondsman, GET ARRESTED” That of course is a joke. We are still looking for a few sponsors at press time for our Bike Week Sponsorship. We will be all over the place with our three booth locations and at the Boardwalk Bike Show handing out your info and our magazines…. For only $1000 you can have us hand out your info to everyone who walks by out booths in all three locations (Boothill Saloon on Main Street, Iron Horse Saloon in Ormond and JP Cycle at Destination Daytona) This is the best way to get your product in the bikers hands. I am only accepting 10 sponsors and already have 4 at press time. Act now and call me at 813-814-1424 or e-mail me at tonyc@floridafullthrottle.com Last but not least, I would like to wish my beautiful wife, Kandice, and my two young daughters, Krysie and Ashlynn, a Happy Valentine's Day. I would also like to wish my Mom and Tracy Happy Birthday's in the month of Feb! Be safe, don’t drink and ride and I will see you at BIKE WEEK!!!!!!!

Well, the cool riding weather has definitely arrived. If you don’t own chaps, beanie caps, great gloves and an awesome jacket, then its time to head to the nearest biker store and invest in some. All kidding aside, most of the riding weather has been pretty great. Cool, dry, sun during most of the day, and just be ready to head home when that sun goes down. Gas prices are down which has added to this great time of the year for riding., The Diva Angels have been very busy working on our calendar of upcoming events. If you have not visited our website, I recommend that you so at divaangelspasco.com to view some great photos and upcoming events. At present we are working on our yearly YARD SALE to be held on January 31st at Shipwreck, Grand Blvd. NPR, our 2ND ANNUAL DIVA COOKOUT – March 14 @ Reddy’s Retreat and of course our annual VIRGIN RIDE over the Skyway Bridge scheduled for February 22nd. Some of the charities that we have donated to in the past are the two Domestic Violence Shelters in Pasco, adopted a troop from Florida stationed in Iraq, adopted a local family at the holidays and gave to our local SPCA. These are some of the local charities that we support in addition to participating in many local poker runs. Recently all of the Diva Angels Florida chapters met
for a recap of 2008 and share ideas with each other. I have included several photos. The Pasco Chapter meets every 3rd Friday, 7pm at Shipwreck located on Grand Blvd, NPR. A map along with addition information can be found on our website. Our DIVA OF THE MONTH is Betty Carr aka Betty Boop. Betty has been a member with our chapter for several years. Betty Boop is one of those people that you can always count on when we need those helping hands at our events. Betty brings to us many years of riding experience and knowledge that comes with that experience. We are proud to have Betty Boop in our organization.

So the cops have you pulled over for allegedly speeding. They come up to your window and ask for your driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance. You comply with their request. They come back and see that you’re clean and they try to be real nice to you. They then hit you with the “Would you mind if we searched your bike (or car)” or do you mind taking off your shirt so we can take some pictures or your tattoos?” Or maybe you are walking and they come up to you and start to ask you questions. You tell them your name and then they ask you “Would you mind if we search you”? Or perhaps you are sitting home and there is a knock on your door. You go to the door and it is the police. They then ask you “Do you mind if we come in?” Just what are your rights under these circumstances? As for the traffic stop on your bike or car, you are only obligated to provide them with your driver’s license, registration and if you are not wearing a helmet, then proof of insurance. Other than these items, you don’t have to say another word. You do not have to let them search your bike or car no matter what they say. JUST SAY “NO.” You do not have to take off your shirt for them to take pictures of scars or tattoos. You do not have to answer any other questions like where you are coming from or questions about an acquaintance. The law is there to protect you so don’t let them step on your Constitutional Throat. As for walking down the street and being confronted by the cops, just what do you do? This is called a citizens encounter in the legal world and you don’t have to do anything. You can keep walking as if the cops are not there. If you are being detained by the cops be-
cause they have reasonable suspicion that you have committed or are about to commit a crime, then you have to provide them your name (give them your driver’s license). Once again, other than that you do not have to provide them a single thing or answer a single question. When in doubt, ask them if you are free to leave. If they say no, then you are being detained or under arrest. Always ask to leave, if they say you are free, and then be on your merry way. You do not have to answer questions, show them tattoos, etc. Now we are at your home. Do you even have to open the door for the cops? The answer is no. They can’t kick the door down or make you open the door. If you decide to open the door, do you have to let them in? Once again, NO. You don’t have to answer questions or even let them know who you are as long as you are in your home. Florida law recognizes that a man’s home is his castle and he should be left alone. I have seen many cases where the cops show up and someone opens the door and the next thing you know the cops are walking inside the home without consent or permission. I have had cases where the cops pull someone out of the home to arrest them (without a warrant) and then later claim that the Defendant came out willingly. The bottom line is the right answer is always NO. If there is any doubt, be polite and then give them the NO. Be smart, educated and Trust No One (except me) when it comes to your rights, Jerry T.

FOKKER TRI-PLANES......F-16'S AND FATHER TIME I always like the ride over to the Plant City Bike fest the first Saturday of the month, great destination, good food and drink. Radical Randy always has a good show. With my stable of bikes, it's always a struggle as to which one gets the call to duty. It truly comes down to what part of history I want to be in for that ride. Which takes us to the flight over for this particular battle......I mean ride. I chose to take my Fokker Tri-plane which looks a lot like a 1975 BMW R90/6 sidecar motorbike. It's worth giving you a bit of history that gives me this mindset for this bike. This bike is named "Dutch" (all my bikes are named but that is for another article). During WW I BMW engines founded a tradition of excellence and reliability. It was Baron Von Richtofen, the Red Baron, who praised the BMW engines that powered the legendary Fokker Tri-plane of 1917 to 1919. In 1919 an airplane with a BMW engine set the world altitude record and later BMW powered Dornier flying boats travelled the world. In 1923 BMW built it's first motorbike and in 1928 it's first automobile. In the 1930's their cars dominated the European racing circuit. Then in WW II BMW produced the high performance Focke Wulf FW 190 fighter and it also produced the first operational jet turbine engine. Now back to the Richtofen/ Dutch/Black Falcon connection. It also produced the fastest sidecar racing motorbikes in the world between 1954 and 1967 winning an unprecedented 14 world championships in a row. So, with this in mind we will begin our journey. Dutch and I (the Black Falcon) left the Aerodrome....I mean St. Pete beach. Down the beach with some low level cruising (30 mph) looking for targets (frauleins). It's now time to gain speed and climb over the bridge an onto the battle in Plant City (the bike show). Which brings me to the petrol stop. I pulled into the fueling station on Rte. 60 and there are 6 to 8 bike of varying nationalities and sizes but all have 23 years plus on my veteran, Dutch. An O7 Rod, Zx11, a gsxr, you get the snapshot. Well, after taking on petrol and about 15 minutes of telling my new found squadron of the epic battles Dutch has won, we are off to Plant City. Which brings me to phase two of our fable. Whenever I ride Dutch or my other old classics, I have come to find out that these bike should be riddenalone or only with their own kind. I have spent many days and nights riding mile after entertaining mile by myself, congratulating myself on this incredible piece of machinery, speed, handling, power and amazing lines. Which brings me back to the squadron moving towards Plant City. It was an interesting lineup. If I am in front, it looks like my old Fokker is being chased by a group of F-16's trying to set a missile lock. If I am in the back it looks like father time himself chasing the future. Either way, I find in this mismatched squadron that the old technology that I love and admire is so very over matched by the here and now. Now I am having to give Dutch it's all just to stay in the hunt and driving the sidecar rig to it's top limits (those of you who have driven sidecars know what I mean, they become possessed). Speed shifting, gears burning and the smell of heat and clutch. Dutch and I put on a valiant attempt at holding some pattern in the jet squadron we are riding in, but i knew I had to break off from this squadron for the Black Falcon and Dutch were not of this future. It was with much respect and admiration from both me and my jet friends that I needed to regroup. With skies threatening I spotted anuetral aerodrome (a Mexican Cantina). There in the lot, in the corner I met many friends of Dutch's. A 1968 BSA Lightning, 1957 xlch Harley and a 1982 Yamaha xs 400 Special. Then I told them of my meeting with my former squadron, these super machines of the future. They told me it sounded like an episode out of the "Twilight Zone". But they too had seen such wondrous machines with no carburetors, 6 speeds, liquid cooling, incredible thrust, paint and chrome that blinds, and as it started to rain, in came a machine we had spoke of. As we sat on our old warbirds in the rain telling tales of battles fought and victory's won, the pilot of the super machine hastily parked. We walked over to it and noticed a flimsy paper tag on it's tail, 08 stood out. It had 6 speeds, EFI, it had a hyper-
charger! It was farb more advanced than even the earlier wolfpack I had rode with. It was now pouring and we talked of how this machine outclassed us and outgunned us and we toasted the marvel of the future as we sat there, the rain coming sown in buckets, puddles formed over the bottom of our rims. Our warbirds looked like boats heading for the shores of Dunkirk. A short half hour later the skies cleared and we, now named the "lost squadron of 1945", mounted up, water pouring off the bikes like a waterfall. As we sat there warming up our relics of history (This is long forgotten or I guess needed practice of warming dis-similar metals and moving oil around before going into action). We noticed the pilot of the "super machine" was sitting there, dead in the water, so to speak. We asked the good captain if we could be of service, but he just spoke of having to forget to put the bike cover on and it would dry out soon. We tried to cover our glee and not give high fives all the way around. As we pulled away watching that supreme piece of modern technology, sitting in a puddle, it was hard not to respect our simple technology that spotted this bike 30-40 years, a machine stopped by rain and dampness. (We did see the super machine later in Plant City). We rode like kind of birds of a feather to the Plant City Bike Fest. Once at the air space of my battle, my Brit and American comrades broke right for parking in the nuetral zone. As I moved forward to enemy lines, the battle was closed, I was too late tom enter the action, even far away battles have rules of engagement. As I landed in front of a small bar near where the battle raged, a busty fraulein serving ale said, "Hey, I always wanted to ride in a sidecar". Guess Dutch and I didn't miss the battle or the trophy.

DEALING WITH LIFES CHALLENGES This is a story close to my heart. I lost my sister to Leukemia at the age of 16; I was 15 at the time. She fought a courageous battle for 3 years that I draw strength from every day of my life. My father died of brain cancer 9 years ago. My younger brother died of a brain embelisum 3 years ago while he and I were practicing for a spear-fishing tournament. My Mother passed away 2 months later from complications after having hip replacement surgery, she also suffered from 3rd stage Alzheimer’s. Being a cancer survivor myself, undergoing brain surgery this past July, being told in November I was in total remission, then one month later I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. People ask me how do I get up in the morning? How do I continue with school, work, doing benefits, charities and fundraisers. I tell them I draw my strength from the loss of my love ones, working with people and families who are going thru what I have gone thru and am going thru. Have you ever wondered where people get the COURAGE to deal with life’s adversities? Reflecting on your own life, perhaps you have questioned the source of your personal courage. Talking with people in the clinic each day, I am struck by the incredible courage of fellow patients and their families. In exploring the definition of courage, I was reminded that courage is NOT the absence of fear. It is a quality of mind, which meets danger or opposition with valor, firmness and bravery. This definition still seems inadequate to describe the reflection in the eyes of people who frequent this clinic. Upon further exploration, I learned that the French root word of courage is coeur, which means heart. The heart as the sustaining source of courage... Courage that is “rooted” in love. This definition brought clarity to the reflection seen in the eyes of those living with cancer and their loved ones.
WORDS OF WISDOM, INSPIRATION and Courage 1. If you wish to achieve more, then attempt more. Push yourself beyond what you already know you’re able to do. 2. Get out of the rut of going through the same motions and ending up with the same results. Put some additional time, energy, thought and creativity into your actions. 3. Take on challenges that make you a little bit uncomfortable. Stretch your abilities and watch them grow. 4. Decide to reach higher and you’ll find many new ways to move higher. Raise your expectations and you’ll improve your performance. 5. Keep on learning, keep on growing, and keep on venturing beyond what you already know. Give yourself the gift of increasingly ambitious goals. 6. Enjoy and appreciate how far you’ve already come. Then jump back in and make it even better.

It get’s better all the time, Webster that is. Another record in attendance that broke about 10,000 for January. The Gibtown Bike Fest was shoulder to shoulder as well, even with the cold weather, the parking lot was overflowing. The economy is bad, but seems like the bike crowd keeps on coming. Hope our Build-off in Clearwater is the same. It will be over by the time you read this, hope I have seen you there. Nothing does this old man better
than a wave hello, hand shake, or a hug from the ladies. It all gives me pleasure. Hope it does the same for you. The last weekend in February will be the Antique Club of America Swap Meet in Eustis, Florida, then bike week in March getting back to Webster Bike and Car Show and Swap Meet. I said last year it was the best monthly event this side of the Mississippi River, now I’d like to say it’s the best in the U.S.A. If you can tell me different please do so!! See you soon Brandy

The first time I met Bill Church I liked him. He always has time for me no matter how busy he is and he runs his company with a “hands on” approach. These are two of the many factors that make him and his restaurant, Quaker Steak & Lube so successful. He is also one of the nicest businessmen you will ever meet and he sincerely appreciates YOUR business! Full Throttle Magazine is proud to welcome Bill and his family and staff to their Full Throttle family of advertisers. The future of Bike Nights and Events at the “Lube” will be great! Radical Randy, the Master Emcee for QS&L and Bill have a lot planned for 2009. They have given away Ten Bikes in 5 years, what a record! Over the past 5 years Quaker Steak and Lube in Clearwater has held the largest bike night in the south and possibly the nation. Many bike nights have come and gone over that 5 year period and QS&L is still going strong. Every Wednesday night motorcyclists from north, south, east and west converge on the restaurant. Every type of bike rider and every type of motorcycle is seen in the huge parking lot. There have been as many as 4,300 bikes counted on a single night. It is a true mixture of Ole School, New School, Sport, Bagger, Chopper and Trike. Patch Holders, Christian Riders, Independent Riders and citizens all mingle. Every type of vendor wants to be at the Lube. The live entertainment is always excellent and varied. The Wingate Inn, located directly behind QS&L will even give you a rate discount if you are there for the bike night. And they really do serve the “Best Wings” in the USA. There are 3 full liquor bars and yet 65% of their sales come from food, even on a bike night . Service is Priority One with Bill and his staff even on the busiest nights. Bill has 85 staff members 7 of these have been with him since day one. Another 15 have been with him over 4 years. This confirms the kind of employer he is (the service industry has enormous turn over). Loyal employers retain loyal employees, no matter what the business. When I asked him what he was most proud of, his reply was surprising. Yes, he is proud of his wife of 20 years, Laura. She works in his business office. He is also proud of his two children. Robbie his son is 17 and works as a bar back. His daughter, Kathryn handles his email. This makes QS&L a family operation. The Credit Union Cruise for Kids raised over $50,000.00 for Children’s Charities 3 years in a row. The Quantum Leap Farm Event with Eric Warren Designs also raised over $25,000.00. The Leigh Nolan UPARC Event headed by Roger Reed raised over $30,000.00.These 3 events were all hosted by Quaker Steak and Lube. Bill is proud of these events being successful. Being able to give to the community and helping less fortunate people while running a successful business has been his goal. Not every event at QS&L has raised thousands, many have raised hundreds but we all know, when you are in need, everything helps. On March 29th The Cruise for Kids will be hosted at the Lube again. The Greg Billings Band will be the entertainment. All of the money from the outside sales of beer will go to the charity. You have got to admit, that’s pretty funny! Great food, friendly staff, fair prices, cold beer, pretty bartenders, Many of you are wearing the tee shirts excellent musical talent, a great location and an owner who apprewith this slogan printed on the back. Al Estes does ciates your business! The Lube is where the action is. And now you have a sense of humor and many years in the Bail know why QS&L has been and will continue to be the Best and BigBond industry. He gives away various promotional gest Wednesday Night Bike Night. Adding Full Throttle Magazine items and the shirts are one of the biker crowd as their multi favorites. Full Throttle welcomes him and his staff media source rounds out the to their advertising family. Look for me out there package. I will at events giving away his promo items. He also see you there, does a lot for local charities. If you ever need his come up and services you will be extremely impressed at how quickly they respond. He comes from many years say hello!

They said; “No more than 20 minutes, Paul can get antsy”. No kidding! What happened? I got about an hour. By definition, the functions of a “Think-Tank” have to do with creating economic, scientific, technological solutions for political, industrial, business or military environments to achieve a set objective. More often than not the “Think-Tank” is an exclusive, solitary and isolated cell. I was privileged as an outsider to have limited access to Paul Teutul Sr., one of the Principal owners and “ThinkTank” of Orange County Choppers (OCC). Paul Teutul Sr.’s mind is constantly in a creative mode. That is, when he sleeps, eats, rides, fishes, or whatever, he is in 6th gear. Own a bike or not, chances are you know of Paul Teutul, Sr. Paul started building custom bikes as a hobby in 1990. In 1999, he and his son Paul Jr. founded OCC. In fact, their first bike “True Blue” debuted in the cradle of our beloved State of Florida during the Daytona Biketoberfest. It could be fair to say Paul got his 1st big break in Florida. Headquartered in Newburgh, NY, OCC is regarded as one of the world’s premier builders of custom motorcycles. OCC is featured on American Choppers, a reality television series that chronicles the lives of the OCC crew as they battle impossible deadlines creating outrageous custom choppers. The show can be viewed on TLC Thursday nights at 9pm EST / 8pm CST. It is not uncommon to witness the Teutuls arguing and yelling at each other. Paul is known for his desire to maintain neatness and order in the shop. His son Michael has described him as a “Martha Stewart on a motorcycle”. His other son Paul Jr. can also display an overflow of testosterone. In fact he sometimes doubles Paul as his sparring partner. The iconic OCC has its’ own line of clothes, apparel, shoes and even guitars. If you really want to get behind the scenes, OCC has been added to bus routes of Coach USA (www.coachusa.com) so you can enjoy a tour of their brand new 32,000 sq. ft. $13 million “green” building. The building has become a venue for rock bands to play. American Chopper is being broadcast to 160 countries worldwide. Paul has a new line of bikes coming out and is even throwing around the idea of launching a line of furniture. Paul is in the midst of writing a book entitled “The Ride of A Lifetime” catering to business entrepreneurs out there. The book is based on lessons Paul learned in the past 35 years. More on the book; www. orangecountychoppers.com . There actually is a dealership in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. which sells OCC choppers. Info:
(www.chopperzoo.com). Paul’s first memory of riding was when his first business partner picked him up on a 350cc Honda. The bike had ape hangers and Paul felt like a monkey on it (I did not ask for a picture). They stopped on the highway and he test rode the bike and he was hooked. He remembers a funny experience riding at 120mph on the West Coast. He saw a grizzly bear. He went by the bear so fast it felt like the bear was taken by the wind right past him. When Paul is not working, besides riding, his hobbies consist of fishing at his cabin and working out. In a few episodes of American Chopper, Paul Sr. has made references to past abuse of drugs and alcohol. Paul admits the most difficult experience he had in life was substance abuse. He told me he overcame his addictions by being involved with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) for 9 years. For more info on AA go to: www.step12. com . Paul was told for the longest time he would be a failure (sound familiar?). When I asked Paul if what we see on TV is what we get in real life I heard a double “Yeah”! Paul is a straight shooter so I took the same approach with him: NT: What legacy do you want to leave? OCC: Huh? What legacy? Hmm … Help me out here. “Steve”? … That’s like … You know what? Believe it or not that’s like the toughest question. Many people have asked me that question. Let’s try the next question. NT: Name of your role model and why? OCC: My role model … You’re asking tough questions … Let me think about this … Who would be my role model? (cursing) NT: You want to come back to it? OCC: I can but I am sure I will be in the same predicament when we get back to it … I’m sure there must be somebody out there … I just can’t … You know we better come back to it …(cursing) I’m usually good with this stuff. NT: The most important value in life and why? OCC: “Passion” because if you don’t have passion about what you do you will never succeed. NT: Do you have any fears? OCC: Hmm … Everybody has fears but I think that being in business for 35 years eliminates a lot of the fears because you’ve already been there and done that. I could lose everything tomorrow but it’s just that investing so much effort into so much of your life and then have it taken away - it would be difficult to lose. NT: Describe your “spirituality” in a few words. OCC: I believe in Jesus Christ. I am a Christian. That is
where my spirituality comes from. I mean I am not a real good “power of example” but that is my spirituality. NT: What does it mean then to “believe in Jesus Christ”? OCC: Well it’s just that huh … Basically a set of rules that are dictated by the bible and there are so many variations. Who you are, what you do, your principles, your ethics, how you treat others, how do you want to be treated, do you lie? I mean the whole nine yards. NT: What did fatherhood teach you so far? OCC: Not to be a father (chuckles). What did it teach me? You want to know what it taught me? NT: Yes. OCC: Let me think about this … I think that at this stage in life it taught me that you should let your kids be more dependent upon themselves. Is that good? NT: Only you know. NT: What has marriage taught you? OCC: Not to be married (chuckles) NT: You really want me to print that? OCC: Huh … (cursing) Yeah you probably should not put this down (chuckles). I don’t know. It is hard for me to say because I am an independent guy and in another way I like to be taken care of. I was married for probably 24 years at one point and now [again] for more than about a year and then 10 years unmarried. If you were to ask if I wanted to be married or not today I might not want to answer that question (chuckles). NT: Accomplishment you are most proud of and how did you achieve it? OCC: Not being a failure. Sheer determination is how I got here. NT: A word of advice to industry stakeholders? OCC: Stay true to yourself! You always find people that change colors like chameleons. I think people kind of sway to whatever the conditions are at the moment. I’ve been around a lot of people and they’ll be [cursing] and smoking and all of a sudden a couple of Christians will walk in the room and they will be lovey-dovey and no more [cursing] and if they are smoking then you know the cigarette goes out the window and as soon as the Christians leave they’ll be [cursing] and lighting a cigarette. I am just using that [as an example]. There are lots of other [examples] but if you are in business meetings around different types of people then people tend to act the part of that and that is certainly not me. NT: To use the example you used here, some people would call that behavior “hypocrisy” and some others would call it “respect”. What do you think it is? OCC: Oh! No doubt “hypocrisy”. That is even a silly question to ask.

NT: So what legacy do you want to leave then? OCC: (long silence) … What do I want people to remember me as? Is that what you are basically asking? NT: Yes. What would you want to be written on your tombstone? OCC: (very long silence) …. It’s hard to say. I think I have a lot of good qualities to offer. I definitely think I want to get along well with people and I want to be a “power of example” to a lot of people. Does that make sense? I don’t know … That doesn’t really make sense right? (silence) Yeah! Being a “power of example” says a lot! I think that through all the years of my experiences even if you go back to AAs, I was a big influence on people that really had a hard time. (chuckles) They thought if this guy can do it than anybody can. I think that applies to business and every day life and that goes back to always remaining who you are. NT: If you could change something from the past what would that be? OCC: Nothing. I think that all the experiences, good or bad make you who you are so there is no going back. It’s just a part of looking back and remembering who you are and knowing what to do and what not to do. NT: So do you have a role model and why? OCC: It’s kind of difficult. When you grow up in a dysfunctional family the role models that you do have (chuckles) have a lot of defects. Basically when you grow up in that environment you know one thing and you don’t even know what “normal” is. When you are a self made person and you don’t have role models you always tend to depend on yourself and that is what I have done pretty much all of my life. Now if you ask me if there are people that I look up to I am sure that there is but I just can’t think of one right now. NT: Would it be fair to say you tapped into the good of people and circumstances that came into your life and you made the best out of it? OCC: I don’t know if I learned a lot from other people’s mistakes. Most of them were my own mistakes. I am sure there have been a couple situations that I looked up at. I think that for the most part, being who I am, looking outside the box, I learned from my own mistakes. They always say it is easy to learn from other people’s mistakes. I am not so sure that is a true statement. Experience is everything. In order to really learn something you need to experience it. NT: Sir (that is actually what Paul asked me to address him as right from the start), you can only do what you are doing well and keep doing it well if you are passionate about it. A lot of people try that and they lose their
appetite or their “passion”. How do you keep and maintain this passion going? OCC: You either have it [passion] or you don’t. I think it is who you are. I wanted to prove I wasn’t going to be a failure and it was a challenge to me. I have done a lot of jobs here and there that I never liked. I even worked on assembly lines. I realized I did not like working for people. They never appreciated my work. So I started with a welding truck doing rod iron railings, employed people and stuff like that. I think it was not so much that I wanted to prove myself, which it was, but it was the fact that I “enjoyed” what I was doing. For me that means starting with nothing and end-up with something and always have this feeling of accomplishment. NT: Going back to your statement “I believe in Jesus Christ” you said that it was based on a set of rules and guidelines coming from the bible correct? OCC: Well Christianity to me is … I was born catholic and there are all types of different religions but I think Christianity is not [denominational]. NT: Some say the person of Jesus Christ strictly stops at “rules” and “guidelines” from the bible. Others say He is beyond that and available to people. What do you say? OCC: You know what? It’s all what “you” believe. “Spirituality” is an inner thing and it’s all different ways. It’s something that you “feel”. NT: So it’s based on “feelings” then? OCC: I guess it’s an experience other than physical. As an example, when I got sober something happened to me that was not part of what somebody said. I felt [it] within myself that I was going to become sober. It did not have anything to do with AA or people around me. It just came over me. I don’t like to get into this. Religion is a real touchy thing and everybody has their own interpretation. NT: Always is. OCC: I can only speak for myself. NT: That is why I’m asking. OCC: I think spirituality does not mean that you depend on God or Jesus to do everything “for” you. That is a misconception. NT: Is there anything you would not want to be published from our discussion? OCC: No. I’m ok with everything I said. NT: If there are any comments or questions about what I will publish, do feel free to call. OCC: Let me put it this way; if there is anything you print in there that will make me look bad then … Where do you live again? (chuckles) I am kidding! In Paul’s mind, whatever he is doing it is never good enough. Make no mistake, at 60ish Paul has no intentions to hang his hat. He constantly feels the need to
challenge himself. All in all, Paul is indeed a “Think Tank”. I think Paul sometimes probably feels alone in a powerful fortress. That is, even with the multitudes around him. I think Paul’s fear of failure runs parallel to a true and genuine desire to create and that is where he finds peace. Like many of us, I believe Paul finds his identity in what he accomplishes. He is a creative machine that cannot rest. I believe he feels whole when he creates, accomplishing whatever his God given talents dictate to him. The question for all of us becomes; What happens to these foundations as individuals when we have accomplished so much (or little) and one day it is taken from us in one way or another and the fortress crumbles? Paul found his “calling”. That is something only a few are privileged to live by. Once you find that “calling” then I believe the next step is to find the “purpose” beyond the visible results of this “calling”. The words “I love you” from a father to a child or from a husband to his wife in a private setting will I assure you leave a legacy far more powerful than any conceivable accomplishment. Paul is a Vietnam War veteran of the United States Merchant Marines and that alone instills a great deal of respect. It was a privilege to speak with Paul. I was disappointed at first and dare I say, judgmental when he did not answer a few of the first questions. At least he did not make-up some fancy answer to look good like many of us would have. Paul was honest and transparent enough to defer the questions to later because he simply did not have the answers (yet). I am hoping he will remember our chat. Those questions are tough indeed and at the risk of being labeled “redundant”, I will keep asking them. The answers will always be most revealing and interesting. If we don’t take time to ask ourselves these questions then I believe we will only end-up “existing” instead of “living”. At one point, I asked Paul what he thought about when he was ridding. Paul starts thinking before his eyes even open. The process does not stop when he rides. His mind races continually. Paul admittedly said he was not the type to ride and stop to smell the roses (I would have a real tough time picturing him smelling the roses). I do know beyond the shadow of a doubt, Paul will read my column and so I will say to him and encourage him to learn to do just that; Stop to smell the roses Paul. We want you with us for a long time. Keep your rubber on the asphalt!

Hello everyone, it is so hard to believe that February 11th has been 2 years since my dear friend Cari Hess has left us. Please join the Pink Posse and Friends, on February 15th, for the 3rd Annual Cari-On Memorial Ride. The first ride was about a month after Cari's unexpected passing, as many hearts were broken, spirits were heavy and tears were flowing. The turnout for her Memorial ride was absolutely beautiful! After the first year had passed, a 2nd ride was held, and they turn was not only incredible, it was so amazing, that it took our breaths away! In my From the Heart story, last March, I stated that the ride was so awesome, that I wouldn't be surprised if it became annual get together! Well let’s get together for this annual ride. The ride is free, and the memories will be everlasting!! The 3rd Annual Cari-On Memorial Run will meet at Quaker Steak & Lube, in Clearwater at 10, and Jack Willies, in Oldsmar at 11, then off for a scenic ride to Aripeka to The Upper Deck. These were three of Cari’s favorite local spots! Come out and enjoy this great time! Cari will always be close to my heart, and there has not been a day that goes by that she is not my thoughts. She had touched so many lives, and continues to live on in many of us, and we all miss her dearly! Another favorite time, is Bike Week, yes it’s around the corner. Be sure get your bikes serviced. FT will be set up at three locations!! Please stop by Boot Hill Saloon, Main Street; JP Cycles Destination Daytona; and Iron Horse, Ormond Beach, and say hello…be sure to read next month recaps, including LAMA Tampa’s Second Anniversary Party, held on Feb. 7th, . Until next time…

"We build it......You make it your own." Last Chance Cycles is a custom bike builder, H-D V Twin service and repair shop. We build custom bikes for each individual customer and we custom build the bike around the customer. We build it how he or she wants it, a vision the customer has for their bike, not a bike we've envisioned. It is a one of a kind that doesn't look like every other bike out there. A bike you'll be able to spot in a lot with 100's of other bikes. It is YOUR custom bike. That is one of the reasons why LCC doesn't carry a lot of inventory in their shop. We feel the customer, having many vendors to choose from, should have the choice of what part, brand, style they want, not a bunch of stuff we've chosen. That's what we have in stock. It's not exactly what you wanted or maybe it's almost what you wanted, but hey, it's hanging on the wall, so you buy it because it's there. We have many vendors parts and ac-
cessories catalogs to choose from to be able to find exactly what you want or need. Most custom parts are available to us by the next day. Some specialty items such as Thunderheader exhaust, are located in California so that takes about a week. All of our vendors and parts distributors stand behind their products as do we. Custom builds can be built in stages making it affordable to customize to your specifications and budget. We also do service and tires on metric bikes and have a mechanic who specializes in Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and many others. Be sure to call us for info. Service and repairs are also available, motors rebuilt, bored and stroked. Mon. - Fri. 9-6, Sat. 9-3 pm. We have ride in tire and oil changes, but call first to reserve a lift. Wiring, starting performance problems solved and expert wiring tech performance. Download available and an H-D Scanalizer in house. powder coating in house and glass etching. We specialize in most bikes other shop won't, can't or don't work on. H-D warranty work is honored here and H-D genuine parts and accesories also available here. We are not bike assembelers, we are bike builders!! You can reach us at lastchancecycle@aol.com or Fax 813-621-7448.

FALLEN FIREFIGHTER SURVIVORS FOUNDATION POKER RUN
This foundation was created by Sherri Lang in loving memory of her son, Firefighter/EMT Benjamin Lang. He lost his life in the line of duty August 23, 2004. Her journey in trying to pick up the pieces has been long and painful. In the days and weeks that followed Ben’s death, Sherri was faced with the transition of living life without her precious son, and attending to the many things that needed to be done. Overwhelmed with grief, these daunting tasks were very difficult, along with the many unexpected expenses as well. She is grateful for the support and resources that she had during this most agonizing time in her life. The goal of the Fallen Firefighter Survivors Foundation is to offer immediate assistance, when necessary, to the families of those killed in the line of duty across the United States. From flying in a family member, helping with the bills or purchasing that black dress for a Mom, the Foundation’s purpose is to help out whatever the need may be. Benjamin and his fellow Firefighters have dedicated their lives to the protection and welfare of people that they will never know. We all realize that when we call for help, the alarm sounds and the firefighter will be there to help us. The courage and strength that these men and women possess is amazing. Sherri sees her son Ben in these individuals, as they keep his dream and purpose alive, and it is her wish to carry on his memory and honor him by assisting the loved ones of those that like him have made the ultimate sacrifice. A FIREFIGHTER DIES EVERY 3.5 DAYS IN THE LINE OF DUTY IN THIS COUNTRY. The Red Knights International Firefighters MC are a group who share the common interests of motorcycling, promoting motorcycle safety, and the Brotherhood of Firefighting, have officially endorsed this foundation and
will be participating in the upcoming FFSF 2009 WORLD’S LARGEST POKER RUN being held on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Currently, 10 states will join in this incredible event. Planned to simultaneously begin on the same day and the same time, the GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS will be here to authenticate this event. As we move closer to this event, the Red Knights MC, Chapter 14, will be reaching out to the community. They will be looking for businesses that would like to participate as a stop or donate door prizes. Anyone who would like to help out, can contact Rick Mansure, the President of Chapter 14 at (727) 688-0728. So all of you riders out there, mark your calendars for April 18, 2009, check Full Throttle Magazine for upcoming information and get ready to ROCK AND RIDE WITH THE RED KNIGHTS FOR A WONDERFUL CAUSE. Be Safe, Sandy

A Look Back at 2008 - Or what I can remember
First, I hope you had a safe and happy New Year. Now if I can recall the days gone by. Let’s see. To start with, January we had the “Full Throttle Bike Builders Expo.” in Clearwater. We had a great turn out last year. It was on American Thunder TV. I hope to see you there this year. The Cotee River Saloon, on Grand Blvd., had their grand opening in Port Richey. The Cotee River Saloon is a place to keep coming back to. You never know what Todd and Leigh may have going on. Whatever it may be, you can bet you will have fun. Then there was the Ramble Inn. Sal the new owner, had a great party. They still know how to make a biker feel welcome. There were some bike nights that started, and stopped way to soon. I think if you want to have a Bike Night. You need to have it every week. Some of us ride even when it’s cold outside. Some work, some don’t. All bike nights can’t be like Quaker Steak & Lube. Unless you spend a lot of money on ads (I can help you with that part, Call The Big “O” at 727389-0067) and give away a Harley every now and then. But you do need entertainment to keep people coming back. There where some benefits for people that needed help. The Angelus House, Postage for the Troops, The Road Dawgs MC Rendezvous, (which raised money to buy a bus for our Veterans to get them back and forth to the Vet Hospital,) DJ Patti has a message for Tom J and all the Dawgs, Thanks for including her again this year and she looks forward to next years Rendezvous. Then there was the “Help a Biker Breathe Benefit” for the Blonde Barbers husband whom needs a lung transplant. Wish more of you had been there. Thank you Gail and Sarah for your help. You can still help by going to the shop on Main Street in New Port Richey and getting a hair cut. I did, well just a trim. We helped a lot and lost a few. Miss you Michelle. And then there was Plywood. The “Miss Deadwood” contest was is what I remember the most. Ask me about that sometime. We can’t forget about “Main Street Zephyrhills Music and Motorcycles”. It keeps getting better each time. I always enjoy Leesburg and Cotee River Bike
Fest. Back close to home. I came across S & S Service Center on Grand Blvd, in Holiday, near were I live. That makes it convenient when I need service on my truck. Stop in and check out the prices. Home of the low cost oil change, they tow motorcycles and four wheels 24/7. I would like to thank Pres. Bush for the lower gas prices. Everybody said he was the reason for the higher cost of gas because he was a Texas oilman. If he can make the cost go up. I would like to thank him for the lower cost. Welcome back to Texas Mr. Pres. With 2008 over with. I wish for 2009 to be better. So far we have a new bike night on Saturday night. The “Big Shots” full liquor bar is right across from Biff Burger in St. Pete.. Butch and Debbie would like to invite everybody to stop by and check out the new look of the bar. Live Bands (not dead ones), Swap Meets, Bike Night, (sponsored by Lawless Custom Cycles) and who know what. Feb. 21st they are having a chili cook off. I’ll be there and hope to see you there. Now at the other end of my vas area to cover is BB MaGee’s at 12400 Ramfis Rd. in Spring Hill. They have live entertainment. Call 727-861-1769 for the line up. I may see you there too. I hope to make it to Daytona again, if only for the day. I love living in Florida. St. Augustine has a new biker friendly camp grounds. Circle C Ranch is just off I-95 on Light Sey Road. Call Joe at 904-566-1291 and ask for the Daytona Bike Week Discount. Till Next Time Ride Safe and look out for the bad drivers. The Big ”O”

My Fellow Frozen Bros & Little Sisters, I do have to recap a few events from the past year, but before I tell you of them I want ya’all to read the article by Rick Banks on your future. I think all of us need to start seriously considering our futures and start investing in OURSELVES! One of the past events that meant a lot to me was the BACA Charity Event put on by Gypsy to raise money for a great cause. This was her 1st of “many to come” events to benefit the children of abuse and it was a success in all meanings of the word. She was able to raise over $1100 to support a charity that is near and dear to the hearts of all bikers. The Centerstate Chapter of BACA was well represented (Thanks Tugs!) as was the local biker community. Music, food, drinks, and good times were had by all that made it! Gypsy, you’re a wonder, Girl!
Another event was the “Little Dave Poker Run” that raised some serious coin for a biker that was down for heart surgery. Sponsors were plentiful thanks to the efforts of Judi, but a special “ATTA BOY” goes out to Dave at the Pit Stop in Brooksville for allowing us the use of his establishment, providing an after-run “Hog Roast”, and having his especially attractive “Pit Stop Crew” serve as hostesses! Bikers helping Bikers … it’s what we do best! Have to tell you about a shop that was able to help me out as well. Met with Al at Creative Cycles in Weeki Wachee to see if his crew could assist me with a custom sissy bar I fell in love with … but wouldn’t fit my scoot. Dom, Ron, and Sam were able … after scratching their collective noggins … to “modify” the bar and install it and it looks great! Thanks for all your help, Bros! If you’re in the area, a stop by would be to your benefit! Gotta close for this month … but I’ll see ya on the backroads! Ride it like ya stole it … unless it’s mine! Gary

Well, here I am again with a bit about our last run and again we at Port Charlotte pulled off a great poker run for the good guys. Full Throttle, Taz, Kat & all our friends showed up for the Benefit Run we put on for the Animal Welfare League Poker Run, it was a blast. The weather was the best with just a little chill in the air and we raised $1000! If Thunder by the Bay didn't have their thing going on we know we would of had more people for our run. We did have 58 of us who turned out to party with us at all of the stops. We had a real nice group to party all day with, and that we did! We would like to start off with a big thank you to all of our good hearted Pub's. Boomers who gave a nice liquor basket, Loading Zone who also gave us a fully stocked liquor basket, Q's Sports for the gift of a nice billiards Q stick & case and for the hot coffee & donuts, and the help from Load-
ing Zone for the hot dogs, Tamiami & Bull Dogs Bars. We also had a 50/50 give away of $200 with the winner Frank Markovci who turned it all back in. I want to give Taz & Kat, Frank & Diane, Susan & Sam for all they did. So come on out and join us for our next month's run this one will be for breast cancer. Again thank you all for showing up we could not of done it with out the help of your friends Ted We are looking for a few good people to join the staff here just call 941.815,7218 or ted_fullthrottle@yahoo.com

A burglar broke into a Christian family ‘s home one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables when he heard a strange voice echoing from the dark saying, “Jesus is watching you.” He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off, and froze. After awhile when he heard nothing more, he shook his head and continued. Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard, “Jesus is watching you.” Freaked out, he shined his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice and finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot. “Did you say that?” he whispered to the parrot. “Yep,” the parrot squawked, “I’m just trying to warn you.” The burglar relaxed. “Warn me, huh? And what is your name?” “Moses,” replied the bird. “Moses?” the burglar laughed. “What kind of people would name a bird Moses?” The parrot answered, “The kind of people that would name a Rottweiler Jesus.” ************************************************ After a particularly poor game of golf, a popular club member skipped the clubhouse and started to go home. As he was walking to the parking lot to get his car, a policeman stopped him and asked, “Did you tee off on the sixteenth hole about twenty minutes ago?” “Yes,” the golfer responded. “Did you happen to hook your ball so that it went over the trees and off the course?” “Well,” said the policeman very seriously, “Your ball flew out onto the highway and crashed through a driver’s windshield. The car went out of control, crashing into five other cars and a fire truck. The fire truck couldn’t make it to the fire, and the building burned down. So, what are you going to do about it?” The golfer thought it over carefully and responded... “I think I’ll close my stance a little bit, tighten my grip and lower my right thumb.”
THINGS TO PONDER....... 1.How do the “Keep Off the Grass” signs get there? 2. Did Phillip really own that screwdriver? 3. If they have a funeral at night, do they drive with their lights off? 4. If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?
An Italian grandmother is giving directions to her grown grandson who is coming to visit with his wife. “You comma to de front door of the apartmenta. But he was a good worker, really tidy, clean night!” shaven, sharp minded and a real credit to the company and obviously demonstrating their “Older Person Friendly” policies. One day the boss was in a real quandary about how to deal with it. Finally, he called him into the office for a talk. “Charley, I have to tell you, I like your work ethic, you do a bang on job, but your being late so often is quite bothersome.” “Yes, I know boss, and I am working on it.” “Well good, you are a team player. That’s what I like to hear. It’s odd though, your coming in late. I know you’re retired from the Armed Forces. What did they say if you came in late there?” “They said, “Good morning, General. Well with the holidays over and all the food drives, toy runs and events held to help the less fortunate, I decided to attend a Poker Run put on by area local bikers who support the Animal Refuge Center in N. Ft. Myers. A little about A.R.C., they are a no kill facility, which in essence means they care for the animals until they find a home for them. They are always in need of blankets, sheets, dog and cat food and even baby food for their sick animals. . You can find out more about their needs on their web site ‘Animal Refuge Center”. I’m sure we have all had or have a pet in our
Well, its not only an other month, but it is soon to be the beginning of a new era in our world. We will be inaugurating a new president, and are emb arking on a misson to try and undo the economic disaster that has beset this fine nation we live in. We have had to watch friends and businesses that we have known for years succumb to this malaise we call a “downturn in the economy”. Even though so many are struggling to get by, our community is as generous as always, as evidenced by the hundreds of events that we either sponsor or support throughout the year. It is this aspect that really makes me proud to be a member of the small percentage of the population that calls themselves “bikers”. Once that word connoted an unruly class of outlaws, but now we are a large contributor to society. So be proud to wear your colors and recognize your brothers and sisters with the “wave.” The weather has been fantastic, and so were the events. We had a great bike nite in Downtown Ft. Myers, a huge turnout, saw lots of folks I know in the community I was just talking about, met some of the vendors that were there. The bike nite at RJ bones was COLD, as always the food was great, the people were wonderful. Check out the bike nite here in beautiful downtown Lehigh Acres at Goodtimes, they are located at the intersection of Lee and Leeland Heights Blvd. I want to tell you about a couple of new places here in SW Florida. First is JDaniels on Daneils Parkway just a bit past fiddlesticks rd. They are planning a bike nite this month, check out the web sites to see when it was going to be. Lastly is an exciting new place, set
lifetime and understand thier needs.. Now for the event, held on Jan18th, we started at Benchwarmers in S.Ft. Myers and was greeted with a warm welcome! Thank You!We met up with friends we knew and made a lot of new friends along the way. Now if the weather had been as warm it would have been damn near a perfect day! The route was one of the best and gave us the opportunity to put some miles on our scooters. Ridin with me were Chrome Diva’s Deb and Bonnie. who persuaded me to take the long route instead of the short cuts. The event ended at Sneaky Petes in Bonita, where they had dogs from the shelter for us to meet. As always the food was great and the raffles were the best as we all came away with something! Until next time, Ride Safe! Donta
to open late in Feb. It’s called “Bourbon St.”. The owner and his wife are both “bikers” and want to make the establishment biker friendly. He plans on having biker specials, bike nite, and to sponsor events. They will have a full service bar, a bull, live music and a kitchen, they are located on the corner of Hiway 41 and Estero parkway adjacent to CiCis pizza. Well, enough rambling for now… til next month keep the shiny side up and greasy side down. Ride safe and Ride often. Capnfred

I had an interesting customer visit me at the dealership last month. Sitting at my desk a gentleman walks to me and asks if I can help him with a project. Oliver Stilson of Palm City is a wood carver and motorcycling enthusiast. He begins by showing me a photo of him on his “NEW” 1948 Pan Head, but it is him as a young man. You see Oliver is 85 years young, the typical grand father type you would see at every family gathering. We begin discussing this project of carving a softail style motorcycle and looking at his old pan head photo. With the conversation going deeper into his pan head he told me all the good stories of riding back in 1948. Oliver was out to impress his friends and ladies in Cass City, Michigan buying it new at the only Harley Dealer around in Caro, Michigan. One particular lady caught his eye and he is still with her today, GOD BLESS HER. Oliver told of his buddy Jim Tuckey who also rode with him and their big thing was rustling up the cows on the family farm using the motorcycles. Seems unlike today riding was more off and on the roads and dodging cow patties on the family farm, Oliver told me a great story how they would ride the gravel pits and around town just riding till they ran out of gas. As we looked at the newer motorcycle design and frames for his project he also mentioned to me how he would “IRON CROSS,” stand up on the seat with arms out to impress his new bride. I guess Oliver was doing it before Indian Larry, seems that the New Mrs. Stilson was not impressed. She had Oliver stop riding in 1950.

Coming up at the end of the month is Daytona Bike Week. This year it begins on Feb 27th and runs through March 8th.To all who are making the journey, I wish you a great trip and a safe return. The States M/C held their 14th annual blessing of the Bikes event. at their clubhouse in Pompano. As usual there was a great turnout and the clubs were well represented. ABATE held their semi annual motorcyclists Rights Rally at Wetz Pub in Sunrise. There was live music, plenty of food and drink specials. ABATE rallies typically generate a great crowd and this was no exception. ABATE needs the support of all of us so they can continue the good work that benefits all of us. By the time this gets to print the first Old Skool Bike Nite will have taken place at Mickeys. I'm writing this before the event takes place but I'm anticipating a great time. This event will be held on the 4th Saturday of each month at Mickeys. There wil be free food, drink specials, contests with great prizes, and the Full Throttle SE Florida Babe of the Month Contest. I'm looking for additional sponsors and vendors to participate as I'm confident that this bike nite will get bigger and better in the upcoming months. If interested you can reach me @ 954-652-9244 or you can e-mail me @ fullthrottlepaulie@gmail.com. A couple of thoughts for you to ponder. A large Airbus jetliner has both engines knocked out by geese moments after takeoff. The plane is now esentially a glider. the pilot has literally only seconds to decide what to do. He lands the plane on a busy Hudson river and manages to avoid all of the many boats and ferries and all 155 aboard are rescuded from the frgid water. EXPLAIN THAT !!! Although the economy is the worst it's been in decades, after prices rose to $4.37 a gallon, gas prices have now fallen to the lowest prices in quite a while. EXPLAIN THAT !!! During the last week of his administration President Bush actually admitted to mistakes. EXPLAIN THAT !!! Arizona Cardinals are going to the Super Bowl. EXPLAIN THAT!!! After Al Gore's Oscar winning documentary on global warming most scientific experts agreed that the earth is warming and could have catostrophic results. This winter there have been record breaking cold temperatures across the globe and even snow in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. EXPLAIN THAT!!! Joe the plummer who gained his 15 minutes of fame during the election has managed to extend his time in the spotlight by becoming a war correspondent covering the war in the Middle East. EXPLAIN THAT!!! I guess the explanation is that anything is possible. Who knows, perhaps some day we'll even have a black president. Til next month, Peace out Paulie

stand united, we will fall divided”. Join your local MRO, you know how to find one, just do it! BRRRRRR! I hope we all survived our ‘cold snap’. I also trust that you took advantage of the colder temps and took your bike in for any service and/or maintenance. Not a lot going on up here right now, a lot of folks are recovering from the holidays, and wondering what is going to happen with the transfer of political power in Washington DC. Plenty of rumors flying around, some good, some not so good, time will tell. You can bet that there will be plenty of ‘attacks’ on the few freedoms that we have left, so, if you are going to ‘sit back and see what happens’, instead of getting involved with an MRO, don’t come crying when the ‘you know what’ hits the fan. Motorcyclists Rights Organizations, MRO’s, don’t just deal with motorcycle issues exclusively, they work on all kinds of issues that affect our lifestyle. Yeah, the helmet laws are big issues, but that isn’t the only thing going on, our elected officials have, in the past, attempted to pass laws making it illegal for groups of people, wearing identical jackets, vests, etc. to gather. Ok, so I am reaching a little deep here, but it has happened. Thankfully, it didn’t happen, and we can thank our MRO’s for helping to make sure that it didn’t. As I said before, “if we don’t
Deadline for this issue arrived before the “Love @ Ride to Rehab” swap meet in Green Cove Springs, so look for coverage next month. As our weather starts warming up, things will get hopping again, of course, there’s Bike Week in Daytona coming up in early March, and make plans to attend the Bike Nite Kickoff at Cross Creek Steakhouse, at Lem Turner and I-295 on Saturday, March 21st. Paul and his staff have been busy making preparations for an attempt at the World’s Largest Beer Bong! You’ll just have to stop in and see if they can pull it off. As always, shoot me an e-mail if you hear about, or are having a run/ride/event, my e-mail is FTPabs@AOL.com. Check the Cruisin’ Calendar too, oh; did you know that you can now see the current issue of Full Throttle Magazine online for free? Yup, it’s true, go the website, www. fullthrottleusa.com, click on the ‘Florida’ issue, you can sign up for a weekly e-mail of updated events, and all kinds of stuff! Okay, I am going for a ride, see you out there! RIDE LOUD & RIDE SAFE

Hello everyone & Happy New Year. The old year has come & gone, hopefully the new year brings good fortune. I had the opportunity to make it out to final Bike Night of the season for the Cross Creek Steakhouse, located at the I-295 / Lem Turner interchange. It was a great evening all the way around. For one, it was on a Saturday night, warm DRY weather, just a great night to be on a Harley (or whatever your choice may be) cruising around with friends stopping in here & then there, meeting awesome people. The band playing at Cross Creek that night was a band from Atlanta, Georgia called Mile Train. Great trio of musicians. Thanks Paul & Ray for a great time & we'll see you guys at the start of next season (March 09). Chicago Pizza Bakery, located at 210 & Nature's Walk, has been having a bike night for the past few months. There's is on a Tuesday night from 6:30PM til 11-ish. The band Nasty Influenz has been named the Bike Night band for CPB. Hope to see any & all of you all there. I can say that you have not had pizza
like there's in this neck of the woods for a long time. Thanks to Blake, Grandma, & Gary - you guys have a good thing here. Well all, until next month, keep it vertical & in the wind. Lil' Bit
Happy New Year my friends!!! Hope everyone had a great holiday season and you’re ready for a new year of events. Unfortunately, I have not been to one event sense the mid of Dec. And February does not look any better. So I am going to post past event pics that didn’t make it for the year of “2008”. Of course Bike Week in Daytona starts Feb. 28 and runs till March 8th. I will be attending Jook this time again, but will be at the Iron Horse and White Eagle on the 7th of March for the BikerOrNot Meet & Greet. Hope to see ya’ll there!!! Have a great month, ride safe, and stay warm.

106 Man it’s great to be in Florida! If you're a football fan we’ve got the Super Bowl. If you're a race fan we’ve got the Daytona 500. PLUS, our favorite Bike Week! I hope every one is having a great New Year. This last couple months with the holidays and all the different things going on it’s been very hectic. But now it’s time for all of us to start concentrating on Bike Week. It’s right on top of us so if you didn’t get in the magazine this month you better do it now. With Full Throttle putting out 3040,000 copies it’s the best bang for your buck. Even if you just have events coming up or celebrities you have appearing you need to be in touch now. We will be distributing all over the state and have three major locations that will be staffed during the event. Boot Hill Saloon on Main Street, Iron Horse in Ormond, and J&P Cycle at Destination Daytona. We have our pre- Bike Week Bike Show at The Grand Seas poolside Saturday February 21st. Hosted by myself and Clint. Followed by a kickoff party starting at 8pm on Saturday February 28th also at The Grand Seas. On March 3rd we have a ride in Bike Show also at The Grand Seas starting at noon with live music and BBQ all poolside. Definately don’t want to miss our Let's Get Crazy Party at the Americano Beach Resort, it kicks off at 9pm on Friday March 6th. Leave the kids at home for this one. We’ll have more information on more events in our March issue. If any of you got any balls, I’m trying to put together a burn-out competition at the Iron Horse. There will be burn-outs everyday during Bike Week about 3pm! Please contact me right away with any ads or events. A.S.A.P. 386-299-9364 or e-mail TBrown37@cfl.rr.com Til Next time ride sober and safe!

2009 are you feeling fine? So much has happened… Obama is our president, I didn’t vote for him but I support him… WOW with all my heart. I know my God reigns, He isn’t sleeping, busy or on the “shitter”. He knows everything going on, even when an ant farts. If I am a little graphic for you, Wake up! God knows you and loves you as you are and He died to set you free not tie you up. As for the Middle East God’s word says Bless Israel and He will bless you… damn Israel and he will damn you. I’m telling you the truth. Choose who you will serve! By not choosing you have chosen!! I’m proud to be an American. Our country was built on our Lord Jesus Christ from the gate… Check it out. So when I pray for our troops and thank God for our veterans I do it in “Jesus name”. He co-signs my prayers… very powerful. Our God wants us to “run good” in our life! With Him in us “YEOW”, we can be “supercharged” with the power that comes from Him. Praise God!! So tell your Valentine you love them, your kids and your family too. Do it often! My niece, Michelle, won “The Biggest Loser” last month. Congratulations, you’ve always been beautiful! So… Keep your britches between the ditches… green lights and blue skies to you and yours. Keep this Gangster in your prayers. Call me if ya need me, I’ll answer your questions… Oh yeah I do weddings, you get the rope “I’ll tie the knot”. Thank God for Hellfighters, Freedom Fellowship and the ladies of Jackson. To ALL my kids……..I’m trying. Bro. Bert AKA “the Gangster of Love” (386)566-9931
