Here we are .... the most important month of the year for Full Throttle Magazine! January 27-28-29 are the dates of the 2012 Florida Motorcycle Expo that will take place at Quaker Steak & Lube, 10400 49th Street North in Pinellas Park. We will take over the parking lot and add hundreds of vendors, we will have the fantastic Jagermeister stage for the very best bands in the Tampa Bay area including Bobby Friss, The Black Honkeys, Greg Billings and the Dive Bar Stalkers (see the complete band list and schedule of events inside this issue), we will have a huge tent that will be the home of over $1-million in customized motorcycles that will battle for $7,500 in cash prizes in the Bike Builder Invitational, we will have a tattoo contest, $100 hourly giveaways, tons of raffle prizes, the Miss Full Throttle Pageant and a fireworks display on Saturday evening and a giant ridein bike show on Sunday! You won’t want to miss this spectacular event .... I guarantee you it will “knock your socks off” !!! QS&L is always packed on Wednesday nights, but the expo is a different animal. Last year we had an estimated 3-day crowd of 12,000 and we set records for the “best ever” days at the Lube. This year we are looking to smash those numbers and we have the bands, vendors, motorcycles and events to do it! If good old Mother Nature cooperates, we will put on an event Tampa Bay won’t soon forget! I hope everybody had a safe and happy New Year and you made resolutions that you can actually keep. Mine is that I am going to make a concerted effort to eat better and work out more. I have set a goal to lose between 7-10 pounds by my birthday on March 3 .... I know that’s not huge but I will keep you posted on my progress! Have a great month of January and I hope to see all of you at the Florida Motorcycle Expo on January 27-29 at QS&L !!!
Welcome 2012!!! I am really looking forward to a great New Year! There are lots of reasons to be happy about this year including my kids are growing up, the Expo is looking great at this moment in time and there are lots of plans for growth in the Full Throttle MULTIMEDIA future! But most of all because on Wednesday December 21st, at Quaker Steak and Lube in front of at least 500 people standing around the stage, I got down on one knee and proposed to my beautiful girlfriend Tonya Jenkins and she said YES! I am so happy, lucky, honored and all the other great words you can say to have such an amazing woman in mine and my daughter’s lives. I am truly blessed and look forward to making Tonya my "Blushing Bride" sometime in 2012 for sure! The next subject on hand is the 2012 FLORIDA MOTORCYCLE EXPO AND BIKE BUILDER INVITATIONAL! I personally am so excited for this event I could bust at the seams! We all have put a lot of hard work into getting this bigger and better each and every year. This year we have FREE fireworks, awesome bikes in the Bike Builder Invitational, The Jagermeister Stage and a ton or great bands like the Black Honkies, Greg Billings, Bobby Friss and The Dive Bar Stalkers. NOT TO MENTION THAT THE ENTIRE EVENT IS FREE OF CHARGE!!!! In years past we have had to charge to cover our costs on the huge venue. This year we brought on a few sponsors to help us and make this a free event for everyone to enjoy! There is no charge to go into the Bike Builder Invitational Tent or anywhere else for that matter. In fact you should bring the family out, grab some food, look at the bikes and the vendors and hang around an hour or two and just have fun. Saturday night, if everything goes well, we have the fireworks going off right before Greg Billings starts rockin’ the Stage! Oh yea, we are also giving out $100 an hour while the event is open, see the schedule in this month’s issue for all the info. You should plan on being at the Expo this year if you haven’t been in the past, It’s going to be one of the best yet! Last I want to thank MOUSE from Mouse’s Sunset Tattoo’s for finishing up my Chief Cupcake tattoo. We talked about it for at least a year and things finally came together and the final product looks as good if not better than I could have ever imagined. YES, a biker looking cupcake! If you want to see it just ask and I will gladly show anyone. You can always find me at Quaker Steak and Lube on Wednesday Nights! If you are looking for a great tattoo artist who does some of the best work I have ever seen, you want to contact Mouse and get your "mouseterpiece"! Mouse will be set up at the Motorcycle Expo January 27-29, 2012 at Quaker Steak and Lube or you can find him at his shop at 624 East Bay Drive in Largo or you can reach him at 727-804-1014. THANKS MOUSE! I LOVE THE TATTOO! I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and don’t make any New Year resolutions you can’t keep. Good Luck and be safe!

Classic Bike Ramblings INNOVATORS, INSPIRATIONS and INVENTORS So there I was at the "Pronto" car wash, but there was a double line of dirty vehicles in front of my Mustang. And you know, my 56 loyal readers, it's free time like this when I try to think of what im going to write about. I Always have a few obscure stories bouncing around in my head that I want to link together, my version of "shock and awe"! So after I dropped my car off at the vacuum station and asked for "the works" package, I walked down the hall that led to the cashier and there thru the big glass windows I saw the operation and workings of the modern autowash. Invented in the 1930's as a simple way to wash your car and not get out or wet. As I spoke with one of the guys working there he pointed out that many innovations had taken place since it was invented, going to nylon bristles, then cloth and now to touchless and many new soaps and chemical mixes have come along to deal with better paints and now clearcoats. I then sat on a bench watching the guy finish detailing my car. Amazing to watch as he kept at it going over every small piece and checking it twice, the care he put into the car was quite impressive. So I asked him, "Do you do this for every car?" and you know my friends he told me "That a man should be inspired to do well and do his best at what he does" and that he himself knew the feeling of what it's like to be in your well detailed ride, that great feeling a person gets in a clean shiny ride, be it a bike, boat or auto. And that he was inspired to pass that on to every person that passed through him. And this my friends led me to put these three stories togather, this article of "Inventors, Innovators and Inspirations". Glenn Hammond Curtiss, a man who is credited with being a founder of the American Aviation Industry and the "Father of Naval Aviation", but he began his storied career as a bicycle and motorcycle builder and racer. Born May 21, 1878 in Hammondsport, New York he would only complete school through grade 8. His first job would be at the Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company (later Kodak) while there, he would invent a stencil machine used at the main plant, personally build a camera and would become very interested in photography. At age 20 he would marry Lena Neff. Curtiss would begin his love affair with two wheels by becoming a Western Union bicycle messenger then go on to race bicycles and buy his own bicycle shop.
It would be 1901 that his passion for motorcycles would start brought on by the small internal combustion engine becoming more available. It would be 1902 my friends when Glenn would begin manufacturing motorcycles with his own single cylinder engine. This first one cylinder motor would use a tomato soup can with a gauze screen that used capillary action, which is gasoline flowing against gravity or up through its small fuel line. In 1903 he would set an astounding speed record on a motorcycle at 64 miles per hour for a measured one mile course! It's interesting to note my 85 loyal friends, when E.H. Corson a racer with the Indian Motorcycle Company visited the Curtiss shop in New York he was completely shocked by the fact that his entire company was situated in the back room of a small shop. Carson's Indian Motorcycles had just been beaten badly the week before by "Hell Rider" Glenn Curtiss in an endurance race from New York to Maryland. But on Jan. 23, 1907 Curtiss would become the " fastest man in the world" (as he would ride the cycle faster than even the typical locomotive of the day, a title he would hold until 1911), when on a 40 horse power V-8 motorcycle of his own design and build, in a measured mile run in Ormond Beach, FL Glenn Curtiss would run 136.3 mph on this 4,000 cc V-8 powered motorcycle a record that would stand for the next 23 years. He would do this by using an air-cooled "F" head aircraft engine. The "F" head motor was an amazing motor for its day with its intake valves located in the cylinder head and its exhaust valves located in the engine block. Inlet over exhaust (I.O.E.) engines allowed the use of much larger valves than a side valve or overhead valve engine and also allowed for a better intake mixture flow and obtained greater reliability from its cooling of the exhaust valve and its associated spring. This very machine is now on display at the Smithsonian Institution. But Curtiss would turn his attention from the world of two wheels and use his engines and his knowledge gained from building light weight ridged frames and go into the aviation and aeronautics industry at the very same time as the Wright Brothers were. In 1904 he would supply famed aeronaut Tom Baldwin's airship the "California Arrow" with a Curtiss 9hp V-twin motorcycle engine. It became the first successful dirgible in America. Alexander Graham Bell would approach him in 1907 hailing him as the "greatest
motor expert in the country", he would invite Curtiss to join his Aerial Experiment Association (A.E.A.). They would produce four airplanes over the next two years, each one better than the last. It would be A.E.A's third plane "June Bug" that with Curtiss as its test pilot would on July 4,1918 fly 5,080 feet to win the Scientific American Trophy and its $2,500 dollar purse. Oddly Curtiss would be credited with this flight as being the first preannounced flight of a flying machine in America as the Wright Brothers kept their flights very secret and out of the public's and the presses eye for the fear of their ideas being stolen and not making money off their flying machines. It is also said that his pioneering work with "horizontal rudders" or ailerons as they are now known aided his distance and control something the Wright brothers were not pursing at the time. "June Bug" would be the basis for "Curtiss Number One". The first of his production series of pusher aircraft. It would now be August of 1909 and he would participate in the world's first air meet in Rhiems, France the Wright Brothers would not compete although two of their planes would be there and not win any events. Curtiss would win the overall speed event completing a 10 KM course in under 16 minutes at a speed of 46.5 mph for this he was awarded the second ever pilot's license in France. It would be right before World War I that Curtiss would compete with and demonstrate his planes to a curious public across America. In May of 1910 he would complete a 137 mile flight between Albany and New York City making the first long distance flight between two major cities and would win $10,000 dollars from publisher Joseph Pulitzer. In June he would show a group of very interested Naval Officers a simulated bombing run using a flying machine and two months later he would fly a demonstration showing the feasibility of shooting at ground targets from a plane. On Nov. 14, 1910 a Curtiss Airplane would take off from the USS Birmingham and it would lead to Curtiss pioneering work in aircraft carrier ready planes and a lifelong relationship between Curtiss and the US Navy. He would teach flying to both the Army and Navy in San Diego and the Navy now refers to this first base as
the "Birthplace of Naval Aviation". Curtiss would now develop a float design that would let his planes take off and land on the water. It would be Jan. 26, 1911 when Glenn Curtiss would fly the first seaplane from the water in the USA and this plane my airworthy friends was of great interest to the Navy, but it would be the landing of a Curtiss plane on the USS Pennsylvania which would become the first arrester cable landing on a ship and it would pave the way for the modern day carrier and its planes. He would further impress the Navy by making custom floats that would allow his planes to both make land or water landings with its retractable wheels making it the first true amphibian. This plane the A-1 Triad would lead to a meeting with retired English Officer John Cyrill Porte and in 1912 they would partner to build a true Flying Boat in order to win the "Daily Mail Prize" for the first trans-Atlantic crossing, they would produce the "America" in 1914 which would be a large twin engine flying boat (this plane had a boat hull and sat in the water) with trans-Atlantic capabilities but the outbreak of WW I in 1914 would stop this chase for the prize (it would be 1919 when this would finally be accomplished). The outbreak of World War One would find Porte and Curtiss building these planes for the British and American Forces. The Curtiss H-12 as it was known would be the only American designed and built aircraft that saw combat in World War One. But it would be the year 1916 my historic friends and America thought it would be pulled into the war very soon and the US Army wanted a simple, easy to fly and maintain two seat trainer this would become the JN-4 or the famed "Curtiss Jenny" the Navy would use a seaplane version the N-9 and it would be the most famous of all the Curtiss airplanes. Thousands were sold to the military of the United States, Canada and Britain. Glenn Curtiss and his plane building operation would grow to employ 18,000 workers in Buffalo and 3,000 workers in Hammondsport. In 1917 the Navy would order a four engined , long range flying boat that would hold a crew of five known as the NC-4. Well my high flying friends it's the year 1920 and peace brought change, The Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company would see Glenn Curtiss cash his stock at for a then astounding 32 million dollars although he would remain on the board of directors till his death.
He would retire to Florida and founded 18 corporations. He would then develop the cities of Opa-Locka and Miami Springs and co-develop the town of Hialeah. His frequent hunting trips to the Everglades would lead to his invention of the Adams Motor "Bunglo" the forerunner of the modern RV. It would be just before his death that he designed a tailess airplane with tri-cycle landing gear that could be trailered behind a car and be in a price range of the average guy, he wanted everyone to fly. In 1929 the Curtiss-Wright corporation would form and become the second largest firm in America and become a huge player in America's World War II effort. During the war they would employ 180,000 workers, produce 142,840 aircraft engines and 29,269 airplanes. The company still exists today and reports assets of two billion dollars. Sadly his life was cut short when on July 23, 1930 at the age of 52 he would undergo surgery for appendicitis in Buffalo, N.Y. and develop a blood clot. He would be buried in his hometown not far from the site of his historic flight in the "June Bug" Mr. Glenn Curtiss Inventor,Innovator and very Inspired. A lover of speed on motorcycles and a man way before way before his time in the motorcycle industry who was then then inspired to see man fly, everyman and a man who made a mark in both world wars. My next story is of a man who Invented, Innovated and was inspired to see the world ride motorcycles actually it's a tale of two men that come to mind, who really were inspirations in our motorcycling world and true innovators. I present you Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa two men who brought motorcycles to the people. Soichiro Honda a self taught engineer who in 1928 was becoming well known in the auto repair business and a trusted mechanic, who at the age of 22 was working on and racing many of the customer's cars at the Tokyo repair shop he worked at. Four years later Honda would open his own shop but even then he thought big and dreamed big. "I knew if I could succeed in the world market", he said " then automatically it would follow that we would lead in the Japanese Market". His employees would soon see his total determination to succeed and his dream of establishing an engineering business second to none. But Honda was aware of his managerial short comings and would leave the running of the company in the hands of Takeo Fujisawa a long trusted friend who urged him to dream of the long term and as Honda stated, "Without Fujisawa, we would have gone bust a long time ago". While his friend Fujisawa stated "Without Honda we would never have become this big". Honda had started his "big dream"by making piston rings with the hope of selling them to Toyota, but as Japan was emerging from World War II
he saw the need for economical transportation for its people and with its public transportation system over crowded and with gas supplies tight, heavily rationed or non-existent well my readers luck was on his side as he would come across 500 war surplus two stroke motors that were originally to power electric generators and no one saw a use for them. Well it would be Oct. of 1946 my friends and he now had a small factory making complete motorized bicycles where he had adapted the surplus motors to run on turpentine and turpentine/gas combos in the gas starved nation. Honda's idea was a success but the supply of 500 engines soon ran out after a few months. Honda decided to design and build his own 50cc engine. In Nov. of 1947 the half horsepower A-type Honda was being made and sold out of his small plant in Hanamatsu. At the age of 41 in 1948 the Honda Motor Company would be formed and his long time friend Fujisawa would come aboard full time. It would be the year 1949 my loyal readers and this would be the year Honda would build its first true motorcycle, much more than putting a surplus engine in a simple bicycle frame it would be a better more sophisticated machine the two stroke "D-type dream" which turned into the 146cc, OHV four stroke "E type dream" it would run at 50 mph while putting out 5.5hp with a steel frame and rear suspension and by Oct. of 1951 Honda would be making 130 of these motorcycles a day. One year later (1952) Honda would own 70 per cent of Japan's two wheeled market with its 50cc F type Cub being produced at the rate of 6500 motorcycles a month. The next year the "Benley"(meaning convenience) would have telescopic front suspension, a rear swing arm and 3 speed gear box. The next few years saw a multitude of Dreams, Benleys and Scooters being built all the way up to 350cc. In 1957 Honda would produce its first twin cylinder bike and then came the game changer the one the world waited for it would be in 1958 when Honda would fit a working reliable electric starter to its 250cc Dream now anyone could start a motorcycle with ease. 1958 would bring the world's most successful bike the C 100 Super Cub with its innovative frame without a crossbar that made it "lady" friendly a centrifigul clutch and a 3 speed transmission well anyone that could ride a bicycle could ride this Honda and it has sold over 60 million units plus to date, a design so perfect that only small details set it apart from machines built four decades ago. 1961 would see Honda's passion for racing shine through and with Mike Hailwood's twin victories at the Isle of Man, it would start Honda's amazing string of victories and Europe and the USA would take notice. 1962 brought us the famous slogan, "You meet the nicest people on a Honda" and showed the world motorcycles were not just for tough guys and rebels without a cause and that motorcycles were an amazing way to get around your respective city or country. Honda would up the ante in 1963 with the 305cc Dream the C77 and
CB77 it would be these bikes that would influence the Hondells to record "Little Honda" in 1964 and Honda would be in our lives, in our culture, in our music and on our streets but it would be in 1965 when Honda would jump into the big bike market and never look back with the CB450 twin a double overhead camshaft 43 hp bike capable of 104 mph that would outrun the American and British bikes half again its size. And in 1967 the CB450 would see a 5 speed transmission. But, my readers of history, in 1968 at the Tokyo Show, Honda would change the world of motorcycling forever with a 750cc four cylinder bike with disc brakes, a bike that was so fast and powerful a new word "Superbike" was coined to describe it. The CB750 was the biggest bike Japan had produced, a high performance and also a very reliable bike capable at 120 mph and easily out performing any bike on the road and in 1969 Honda would sell its first automobile in the USA and that my friends would be the start of Honda building everything from outboards to robots and some amazing bikes. Honda remained President until he retired in 1973 and he was appointed "Supreme Advisor" in 1983. People Magazine placed him on their "25 most intriguing people of the year" in 1980 dubbing him "The Japanese Henry Ford". Honda was still skiing, hang gliding and ballooning at the age of 77 and both he and his wife Sachi held private pilot licenses well into their seventies. At the age of 84 he died of liver failure on August 5, 1991. While Mr. Honda used the electric starter to help make his motorcycles easier to use for the masses, the original inventor was inspired to come up with this out of concern for his fellow man. It would be in 1911 that Charles F. Kettering would invent the first truly succesful electric automobile self starter not so much as a conveinance item but as a saftey item as the crank start on cars could have vicious cosequences on the person cranking. Cadillac would use this item in production in 1912 and the Model T Ford would put the electric start into production in 1919. And by 1920 almost all auto manufacteruers
included self starters. It would be Chysler in 1949 who would use the all in one key operated ignition starter switch we have grown used to. But it would be a much different for this amazing invention to find its way into the motorcycling world. Although Indian had tried the electric starter in 1914, it proved to be troublesome and unreliable. It would not be untill 1958 that Soichio Honda would change how we would start motorcycles when it fitted a reliable electric start to its production bikes. Harley would not do this untill its 1964-1967 model years and most Brit bikes would not get to the "easy button" untill the mid-seventies. Gone was the need for a planned ritual or the needing the leg of an NFL placekicker or the weight of a lineman. Also the threat of injury and pain was gone. No my friends anyone could now start a bike old, young and yes women and children, anyone could start a motorcycle of any size and compression with the push of a button and you could repeat this day after day, stop after stop. For many years the manufacturers would offer both electric and kickstarts became the "backup" but they would be made weaker for all but occasional use untill they would dissapear all together as starter and battery technology would evolve to what they are today. So there you have it my friends innovators and inventors and people with inspirations. Three men who had it, well four if you count the guy at the car wash and I do. You see without inventors and innovators we don't move forward as a nation or as a race of people and without inspiration, well my readers we dont need to get out of bed. You don't have to dream of being the fastest man on earth or seeing the world ride motorcycles, all you need to have is that inner drive to do something that makes you fullfilled or makes others feel better or safer or just makes the world more "enjoyable". So I wish you all a very inspirational New Year ahead, go out and innovate and invent my friends. It's a brand new chance everyday. Robert De Moss

Sometimes the fastest way to get there is to stop for the night.
It was time to renew my drivers license. I went with my friend JB go with my just in case I didnt pass the eyes test. I had been really sick with a cold for about a month and my eyes were a little cloudy. I told him I would rather go to Citrus County to do this and pay my taxes. I live in Brooksville and have always found the Citrus County office to be much friendlier. JB kept telling me I lived in Hernando so I should do it in Hernando but I told him it was a state license and I was going to do it in Citrus County. As normal, it was take a number and wait. They called me and told me to go to a specific desk. They had a place for me to go and a comfortable chair for me to sit in. A nice young lady named Alison Wheeler helped me. She was super nice - I told her I wanted to pay my property taxes. She was so convincing she got me to redo my voters registration, paid my taxes and she even gave me back my old license picture. She made me feel super comfortable and was super nice and made me feel really good about the whole thing. After it was all said and done, I took the eye test. I was worried about the eye test because I was sick but I passed it. Then they took my picture and a few minutes later she gave me a new license. She cut the corner off my old one and handed it to me as well. All in all I left there with a very comfortable feeling I would like to thank Ms Wheeler as well as the Citrus County Tax Collector, Janice Warren, for running an office that made me feel like I was at home. I left with such a warm feeling JB made an appointment for February to do his as well. He said it was the best tax assessors office he had ever been in. They made me feel so good it wasn't so hard to pay the bill at the end of it all. Thanks again Ms. Wheeler. I sure am happy the holidays are over. Now it is getting close to the bike weeks and events. With bike weeks come the swap meets which are my favourites. The AMAC has moved from Eustis to Flagler County this year. Someone else is going to do a meet on the same days the Eustis one used to be. It is an organization up north - I will find out more about it later. Of course Jam On Productions has their swap meet in Daytona but it's not at the fairgrounds any more. Of course the monthly Webster meet is still my favourite as far as swap meets go. It has really picked up during the winter months. Looking forward to seeing you there. See you soon Brittany...

A distinguished young woman on a fl ight from Ireland asked the Priest beside her, ‘Father, may I ask a favor?’ ‘Of course, child. Is there any way you could carry it through customs for me? Under your robes perhaps?’ “I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn you: I will not lie.’ When they got to Customs, she let the priest go ahead of her. The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it’s safe to cross the street. A blonde was crossing with a girlfriend of hers, a smart brunette coworker. She asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. oh no you didn’t Pop singer Adam Lambert was arrested in Finland while he was on vacation in the country with his Finnishborn boyfriend Sauli Koskinenn. The two were in a gay bar when they started fighting and both ended up getting booked and spending a couple hours in the pokey! I bet there was some serious name calling and bitch slapping going on!
Dear Baby Jesus! Did you see the Tim Tebow and Jesus skit that was on Saturday Night Live last month? It was funny as hell and is all over the internet! Now, SNL wants Timmy to host a show after the NFL season in completed. I hope that Tebow doesn’t “pass” this opportunity up! He should “run” to his agent and sign the deal as it will be a “touchdown” for all involved!
SUPER BOWL The Super Bowl takes place on February 5 and at press time we don’t even know who is in the playoffs. The Green Bay Packers finally lost a game and they actually look very human! The NFL is having a fantastic season and television ratings are skyrocketing. It’s too bad our beloved Tampa Bay Bucs suck sooooooo much! I’m going to predict these teams playing for the right to play in the “Big Game” ..... in the NFC I like The New Orleans Saints and the Packers and in the AFC I like the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots. In the game itself I’m picking the New Orleans Saints to defeat the New England Patriots.
kim jong il - dead The world is a better place today as Kim Jong II died last month at the age of 69. This piece of garbage ruled North Korea with an iron fist and menaced the world with his nuclear ambitions. He succeeded his father and between them they managed to kill hundreds of thousands of their subjects. It’s good to know there is one less asshole on this earth!
put your butt in the can If you smoke, here’s another way “the man” is pushing you down! On January 10, the Indian Rocks Beach City Council will decide if they want to pass an ordinance that will cost you $500 if you leave a cigarette butt on the beach. The City of Gulfport has flat out banned smoking on its beach, athletic fields and playgrounds. Cigarette butts make up 20 percent of all litter found on Pinellas County beaches! Each butt contains 165 different chemicals and can take up to twenty years to degrade.
GOoGoo over GaGA Lady Gaga was voted Entertainer of the Year by the Associated Press. There were 135 ballots and Gaga nipped Steve Jobs by three votes. Taylor Swift, Charlie Sheen and Adele rounded out the top five finishers. Lady Gaga burst onto the pop music scene a few years ago and has set numerous records in 2011!
Swift Brush If you haven’t seen Taylor Swift’s ad for Cover Girl’s NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara you weren’t alone! The National Advertising Division cited Procter & Gamble for producing a dishonest ad as the makeup on the beautiful Swift is photo-shopped !!! Come on P&G we all trust everything you tell us .... not!
bombs away Well, no matter what happens some things never change. Now that American troops have pulled out of Iraq violence has escalated and bombs have been ripping through Shiite neighborhoods. These “animals” have been killing each other before the United States was ever colonized by Europeans. We sent thousands of our young men and women to the Middle East to help set up a Government .... who the hell are we kidding? These people would rather kill each other than live in peace and harmony. In my opinion .... let them exterminate each other, just leave us out of it !!

Litos & Julie
Litos
Back in November I stopped by Forbidden Images on US19 only to find out they moved. I cruised over to their new location which is 10900 SR 54 Suite 104 in Trinity. I met Litos and Julie a few years back when I had my tattoo done there. That’s when I met tattoo artist Everett Joens. He did an awesome Litos job on my tattoo; you would never know it was a cover-up piece. After 3 hrs I got to know the guy, learned that he had a new 2006 Yamaha Roadliner. We started hanging out and going on rides together. Unfortunately he moved on and we lost touch. While checking out the new tattoo art studio, Julie’s vision to decorate created a space of Inspiration and Tranquility with an Asian Zen style, with some industrial touches. After speaking with Litos and Julie for awhile I learned so much about Litos. Such as, origi-
nally being from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and has worked in the tattoo industry for 34 yrs. Litos has also been recognized in the industry with numerous National and International awards for his art. Shortly after my visit Julie called and informed me that Everett was back working on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I stopped back to see Everett to find out what he’s been up to. Everett is finishing up on his BFA (Bachelors of Fine Arts) at USF. His plan is to continue on for his Masters Degree. He enjoys being a new father of a beautiful baby girl, and recently engaged. Feel free to come by and check out the studio and talk about your next piece of art. Not only do they tattoo but they also work with all types and mediums. If you need something created Forbidden Images should be the first place you stop. Happy New Year to Everyone, I look forward to seeing you all in my travels.
