Spring is in the air and for most places that means great weather, for us here in Florida that means here comes the heat and those damn love bugs!!! Be safe out there while riding and remember to bring some face protection or a helmet as those love bugs are gross and stink. April also means one of my favorite events of the year, LEESBURG BIKE FEST! Although the downtown portion of the event has scaled back to just one day (April 23rd) you can party the entire three days at Gator HarleyDavidson where there are tons of vendors, bands and much more going on! Jan and the staff at Gator Harley are awesome, they are also the featured event on the cover of this month’s magazine. On April 23rd Full Throttle Magazine will be hosting a 15-class bike show in downtown Leesburg. This will be a little different as we will be in the Parking lot next to the library on Main Street rather than where the bike show normally is held. We would like to thank The Fran Haasch Law Group who is sponsoring this great bike show and almost all the events we do! Besides trophies for 1st and 2nd place in each class for this show we have some specialty prizes and CASH awards for this show also. Best in show will win $200 and a 6 foot trophy, Judges choice will win a 4 ft trophy and $100, The Full Throttle’s Choice will win a 4ft trophy and $100 and something we normally don’t do is a people’s choice award and that will also win a 4ft trophy and $100! Registration for the show will be 10am till 3pm with awards at 5pm. You can always enter multiple classes in our shows for a better chance to win a trophy, for example for $25 you can enter one class, for $40 you can enter two classes and for $60 you can enter 3 classes. We will also help you out and let you know what the best classes for you to enter will be at the registration table. For

more info call us at 727-935-4875 MORAMOTO MEGA POKER RUN – is happening on April 9th stating at the Tampa Location of Moramoto on Dale Mabry Highway. This is the biggest prize I have ever seen for a poker run in the Tampa Bay Area!!!! The best poker hand at the end of the run will have their choice of $5,000 CASH or an Indian Scout Motorcycle. Although we will need a minimum of 150 people on this ride to make it happen, so please come out for a great day of riding. The price is $75 for a poker sheet, there are THREE hands on 1 poker sheet, so you are getting three chances to win on each poker sheet! There will also be free breakfast and lunch with your poker hand purchase. This poker run will be done a little different also as you will be picking numbers at each stop 1-52 rather than cards, when you return to Moramoto with your sheets you will have to fill in the cards to see what your actual hand is. Some other future events you definitely want to mark on your calendars are the Annual Soaked and Sore Ass poker run on June 11th, this year we are going back to Panama City Beach for a great ride up US 19 then across on 98. Thunder Beach is also going to be quite amazing this year as they have some huge headliners like KID ROCK and TED NUGENT. Full Throttle will be hosting a 12-class bike show at Frank Brown Park on April 30th. See the double page ad in this month’s issue. Also we have released our headline acts for the Florida Motorcycle Expo on Memorial Day Weekend May 27th – 29th This year we have two great bands, on that is up and coming is LILIAC, this is a family band that pleas heavy metal and absolutely rocks the stage! The second band is FASTBALL, with great songs like “The Way” and “Out of My Head” there will be a charge to see the bands but always remember the Expo is FREE to attend, you just must pay to see the national acts. Riding to Leesburg Bikefest is always an adventure. I go a different way every time half by choice.. I ended up inside of that 4 wheel park last year by accident trying to take a shortcut on a dirt road.. AAA doesn't come in there if you get stuck

While looking up some hidden things in Leesburg to share with you, I discovered something very interesting..The Indians that inhabited the lands of Lake and Sumter county used to throw gold and silver coins in the lakes, springs and rivers as a tribute to the gods. In particular Spanish coins they found or took from the spaniards. Treasure hunting is huge there, go figure. A couple things to not 14

The Diva Angels Tampa Bay Chapter are always busy and are not slowing down anytime soon, time marches on they say. We are a diverse group of Lady Riders who love to ‘ride’. February & March we rode the back roads of Pasco County to the Upper Deck in Spring Hill, Pasco Chapter Sisterhood Ride to BayPort Inn, all day ride to Lake Harris Hideaway in Taveres, and Solomon’s Castle in Ona. Along with our riding calendar, we also have our quarterly Road Cleanup, food drives, and helping those less fortunate than us. Kathryn Bursch from WTSP contacted us about their “Cereal for Summer” Feeding America. We jumped on board and have been working Quaker Steak and Lube’s Ladies Bike Night, helping Bill Church with his promotions for the ladies, in addition to collecting Cereal for WTSP, finally on April 9th we will be riding to their TV station with our load for their Cereal Drive Kick-off as they film us riding in for their News broadcast, then onward to AJ’s on the River for lunch. I always say April is the month for families with Spring Break, Easter, and Passover, after the All Female Ride in Jacksonville ‘that is’!! 2021 I got notified regarding a 15-year-old close to my family that had gone missing. All that she left was a note that said, “I’ll be back”. It was the first time the distraught parents went through this. I managed to locate the precious one and within hours she was safe in my custody. Her naivety wronged her, she somehow thought it would be cool to go boating with her female friend and a bunch of grown men that no one really knew. With human trafficking and drug rape being at an all time high, I believe by the grace of God almighty this life might have been spared. Mandy Lady’s story reminds me of these dangers and thinking of it still sends shivers down my spine.

After six years of trying various prosthetic sockets that would cause skin degradation and infections, Mandy swore them off. Mandy Horvath, victim of a date rape drug nightmare whom some of you may be familiar with cannot say she came out unscathed out of what appeared as an innocent and safe situation. She is here still (thank you God) to tell you she is alive, well and not a victim but a “victor” on a mission to make a difference. Mandy was born in 1993, raised by her parents and lived a fairly normal life in Smithville Missouri. Shortly after moving to Kansas, all of that changed. On July 26, 2014, at roughly 2 a.m. in Steele City, Nebraska, she was struck by a locomotive. After an innocent night out with people she thought she could trust, consuming 2 beers and 2 shots throughout the course of the night (of which her bar tab and blood alcohol content later reflected), the worst part of this is that it is suspected she was incapacitated by a date rape drug. The investigators of the small town simply shoved the case under the rug, she was written off as a suicide attempt although the conductor of the locomotive that severed her legs from her body put her date of that night at the scene of the crime. The stories never matched up, and despite Mandy and her mother seeking answers and justice, the police ignored them. She was left with no other choice than to accept what had happened, forgive, and move on. She loved him, surely, he couldn’t have been responsible for something so heinous…right? In November of that year, the heavy equipment operator whom she was dating at the time of the incident, “accidentally,” parked his truck in a garage, closed the door and went for a long sleep. At least that’s what the coroner’s report claims. It has been 8 years since, and Mandy still hasn’t seen a police report. An aspiring MMA fighter, Mountain climber, actress, model, writer and public speakerMandy’s resilient spirit has not said its last word. Mandy is near graduating and obtaining her bachelors in English. In her journey for answers on a spiritual front, she spent countless

Today, she is patiently waiting for a kick ass documentary to be completed through post-production that follows her life journey and trek up Kilimanjaro in 2021. By crawling and being the first woman in the history of the world to do so. The documentary is directed by Edward John Drake, Founder of Good Complex Productions. Edward is most predominantly known for directing and producing titles such as “AMERICAN SIEGE”, “APEX”, “BREACH BROIL” “COSMIC SIN”, and “GASOLINE ALLEY” working alongside names like Bruce Willis etc.… Additionally, she’s training…again. And this time she won’t tell anyone for what- dancing around the question, the only response I can get is- “it will be my Everest. It’s not literally the mountain, but it will test me in every capacity you can imagine.” I just hope this teenage girl I helped this past year will never go through anything like this. I hope one day she reads Mandy’s story and realizes the dangers she exposed herself to. That she will learn before it’s too late. I know her parents intimately. Her dad especially. He would give his life for her. Just as Mandy’s parents would, I am sure. Love on your children folks.
