Here we are, in the month of August, when our riding community and Full Throttle Magazine should be at a slower pace because of the weather and heat. Yet, we are busy almost every night of the week. We have had some new people come into Full Throttle the past few months that have brought a new spark to what we do. First of all, the magazine is the strongest it has ever been with lots of great advertisers, we are printing more magazines monthly than we ever have to keep up with the want and the new areas we are reaching out to. And our Facebook reach is over 143,000 likes on our page where we are now starting a new live web show, check it out The FULL THROTTLE LUNCH BREAK at www. facebook.com/FLFTmag Monday’s at 1pm. If you would like your business featured in the Full Throttle Lunch Break, contact us at 727-935-4875, we bring your business lunch for FREE and discuss all you have going on and what you can offer to the biker community! Right now, that will cost you NOTHING, but we want to come and have fun and make a great show for our viewers, so be prepared if you want us to come film at your location! My brother Paul Cianci, has come in, after spending 21 years in the Navy, and has brought his years of organization and expertise to our office. We have never been so organized about events, ads, bike nights and everything else we have going on. Les Tolliver has stepped up his role to our new sales manager making sure all the ads are in the magazine, and bringing on new sales reps in different areas around the state of Florida. Connie Lackey is doing amazing job as our vendor relations person making sure vendors know about the events we are putting on and where they are at. Charlie has stepped up and is managing our events team along with Rick Lanier and a few other great people helping us get our tent and set ups to the events so Full Throttle can be at more locations each week. We have a great team started….. Great job Full Throttle Team, I know I ask a lot from you all and you all bust your ass, I truly appreciate everyone who has helped get Full Throttle to where is is today and where we are going in the future!!!…. but we need more people as we are growing!!!! Call us today at 727-935-4875 and send your resume to Paul Cianci at pmcfullthrottle@gmail.com. WE ARE STURGIS BOUND!!! Full Throttle Magazine will again, be at the buffalo chip hosting two bike shows on Monday and Tuesday August 7th & 8th. The Buffalo Chip is one of the best places to camp, party and just visit while in Sturgis for the Black Hills Rally! If you need more info about our shows visit www.buffalochip.com We will also have a ton of samples we will be passing out from White Diamond Detail Products while in Sturgis! If you see us, be sure to ask for a sample of the best metal polish around!!! Full Throttle will be hosting more SOUND COMPETITIONS at our bike nights and events coming up with the help of SNS Auto Sports! These guys have a great set up to test the sound your bike is producing. Look for more info at Full Throttle events and in the magazine! School starts back this month’s so watch riding in those school zones and PRE-SEASON football is back! Football is right around the corner, WOOHOO!!! Be safe while riding and watch for those rain storms. Drink lots of fluid on those hot days and ride safe! If you ever drink to much be sure to get a ride home or call MOTO-TOW (727) 643-8214 and they will get you and your bike home, better safe than sorry! Don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon! MOTORMAN’S TIPS, TRICKS, AND TECHNIQUES – RIDING WITH A PASSENGER Sometimes what seems to me to be a very easy thing, others find to be the exact opposite and that’s only because some people overthink such things and believe it can’t be that simple. I’m talking about riding a motorcycle with a passenger. You wouldn’t believe all the questions I get on this subject. I’m going to lay it out right here in the easiest way possible. Let’s start with how the passenger should mount the bike. The simplest way I find is for the passenger to get on the bike first. Here’s how it works. The passenger mounts from the high side, while the bike is on the kickstand. The passenger puts their right foot on the floorboard, swings the left leg over the tour pack and first sits on the rider’s seat. Then, simply scoots up onto the passenger seat. The rider mounts the same way. Once both the rider and the passenger are seated on the bike, the passenger leans forward, close to the rider. The rider then turns the handlebars full lock right, and pushes the bike straight up and puts the kickstand up. I use this method at my class as I often put students on their own bike and ride them through an exercise to show them what the bike feels like as it leans through the turns. Most of these riders are men in their fifty’s and sixties and not very flexible. This method works perfect for me, try it. I also get a lot of questions about what a passenger should and shouldn’t do while on the bike. Again, I’ll simplify it. When making tight, low speed turns, the passenger should scoot up close to the rider. This puts most of the weight in the center of the bike and makes maneuvering much easier. This also works well on winding roads even at higher speeds. The passenger should NOT lean in the opposite direction of the rider. It’s also a good idea for the passenger to inform the rider if they must adjust their position on the seat. (No sudden moves). On the same subject for the rider, if you buy a new heavyweight touring bike like an HD Ultra, you may be tempted to put the wife on the back and take her for a ride as soon as you get home from the dealer. DON’T do it. Get used to the new bike on your own. Pull into a parking lot and practice your low speed skills before allowing a passenger on the bike. Practice your braking, then swerving and leaning and U-turns for at least an hour on your new ride. If you can’t do any of these maneuvers by yourself, putting a passenger on the bike will only make things worse. A little common sense goes a long way. Till next month, get out there and practice your skills.

Wow what can I say. July has been so busy. So many new events to keep up with. First up was Lobster Fest at Get Hooked Bar and Grill. What a fun time. All tucked back in Hudson Marina. If you haven't been there you should check it out. Straitjacket Smile rocked the stage. The fresh main lobster was to die for. Next, we rolled out to Throttle Thursday over at New Port Richey Harley-Davidson. This is quickly becoming the biggest bike night in Pasco County. Biker games great bands and tons of Vender's. It is incredible what it has already become. We moved over to the Pinellas Hope benefit. The weather got us on this one. We moved it to Weds Night Bike Night at Quaker. It was a great turn out. I can't Thank everyone enough for coming. We also had our first ever Bike Night at Silver King Brewing in Tarpon Springs. This is going to be a big one. Fantastic place. It was actually the jail back in 1911. Lots of history Silverking Brewing Co. there. We also had our

40

first of many swap meets at Oldsmar Flea Market. These are going to be huge. We are inviting the Jeep clubs to come out and have some fun. We have obstacle courses for the Jeeps and bike shows for the motorcycles. I would also like to announce the new magazine that Tony and myself is putting out. Full Throttle Off Road with lots of Jeep inspired articles, jeep crew pictures and advertising. There will also be anything dirt with 4wheelers, dirt bikes, Motor Cross and 4wheel drives in general. If you have a 4wheel drive, Jeep, Dirt Bike or would like to advertise let me no. Introductory rates apply. As Always Be FREE and ride safe. Also, congrats to our Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run winner pictured in my article this month! Our cameras were down at the end stop so we didn't have a good picture to post. She also lost her phone that night but won the best poker hand on the run so that's still a good day in my book. We actually found her phone and returned it the next week.

THE BIKER WAVE That two fingered 45 degree angle wave we all do when a fellow biker passes by. Where did this begin, what does it actually mean? Here is a brief history of "The Biker Wave". It all started one day back in 1904 when Arthur Davidson and William Harley while out riding their bikes, saw each other and since they knew each other, they decided to wave. Another biker saw the 2 "kings" of motorcycles doing this and assumed it was a necessity. From that a tradition was born. The waving continued through the years but was always random, never the same. Some did the "Bye Bye wave", or the "Howdy wave" , and some even did the ever popular "Princess wave". In 1946 a bunch of old bikers got together

48

and decided to put some proper wave rules into place. These were some basics that they came up with. Obviously a new rider would have difficulty maneuvering the wave and we all have been there so not much can be said. 1. Riding on an interstate, traffic, and your just not comfortable. 2. Rain and some bad weather, common sense, keep your hands on the bars. 3. Curvy roads where removing your hand could be dangerous. 4. Clutch manipulation 5. Not seen or a head nod was used instead. Despite what people say waving is not an expression of love for all things two wheeled, it is however an understanding of another fellow biker and why they ride and what they love about the two wheel way of life. So remember to keep the wave going, and always RIDE SAFE HAVE A GREAT DAY - CONNIE

A highway patrolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway. Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the blonde behind the wheel was knitting! Realizing that she was oblivious to his flashing lights and siren, the trooper cranked down his window, turned on his bullhorn and yelled, ‘PULL OVER!’ ‘NO!’ the blonde yelled back, ‘IT’S A SCARF!’ ***************************************

A man was driving when he saw the flash of a traffic camera. He figured that his picture had been taken for exceeding the limit even though he knew that he was not speeding... Just to be sure, he went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed. Now he began to think that this was quite funny, so he drove even slower as he passed the area again, but the traffic camera again flashed. He tried a fourth time with the same result. He did this a fifth time and was now laughing when the camera flashed as he rolled past, this time at a snail’s pace... Two weeks later, he got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt.. You can’t fix stupid..

While she was ‘flying’ down the road yesterday, a woman passed over a bridge only to find a cop with a radar gun on the other side lying in wait. The cop pulled her over, walked up to the car, with that classic patronizing smirk we all know and love, asked, ‘What’s your hurry?’ To which she replied, ‘I’m late for work.’ ‘Oh yeah,’ said the cop, ‘what do you do?’ ‘I’m a rectum stretcher,’ she responded. The cop stammered, ‘A what? A rectum stretcher? And just what does a rectum stretcher do?’ ‘Well,’ she said, ‘I start by inserting one finger, then work my way up to two fingers, then three, then four, then with my whole hand in. I work from side to side until I can get both hands in, and then I slowly but surely stretch it, until it’s about 6 feet wide.’ ‘And just what the heck do you do with a 6 foot butthole? ‘ he asked. ‘You give him a radar gun and park him behind a bridge. ********************************************* A teacher is teaching a class and she sees that Johnny isn’t paying attention, so she asks him, “If there are three ducks sitting on a fence, and you shoot one, how many are left?” Johnny says, “None.” The teacher asks, “Why?” Johnny says, “Because the shot scared them all off.” The teacher says, “No, two, but I like how you’re thinking.” Johnny asks the teacher, “If you see three women walking out of an ice cream parlor, one is licking her ice cream, one is sucking her ice cream, and one is biting her ice cream, which one is married?” The teacher says, “The one sucking her ice cream.” Johnny says, “No, the one with the wedding ring, but I like how you’re thinking!” *********************************************

A lawyer is standing in a long line at the box office. Suddenly, he feels a pair of hands kneading his shoulders, back, and neck. The lawyer turns around. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” “I’m a chiropractor, and I’m just keeping in practice while I’m waiting in line.” “Well, I’m a lawyer, but you don’t see me screwing the guy in front of me, do you?”

A golfer was involved in a terrible car crash and was rushed to the hospital. Just before he was put under, the surgeon popped in to see him. “I have some good news and some bad news,” says the surgeon. “The bad news is that I have to remove your right arm!” “Oh God no!” cries the man “My golfing is over! Please Doc, what’s the good news?” “The good news is, I have another one to replace it with, but it’s a woman’s arm and I’ll need your permission before I go ahead with the transplant.” “Go for it doc,” says the man, “as long as I can play golf again.” The operation went well and a year later the man was out on the golf course when he bumped into the surgeon. “Hi, how’s the new arm?” asks the surgeon. “Just great,” says the businessman. “I’m playing the best golf of my life. My new arm has a much finer touch and my putting has really improved.” “That’s great,” said the surgeon. “Not only that,” continued the golfer, “my handwriting has improved, I’ve learned how to sew my own clothes and I’ve even taken up painting landscapes in watercolors.” “That’s unbelievable!” said the surgeon, “I’m so glad to hear the transplant was such a great success. Are you having any side effects?” “Well, just two, said the golfer, “I have trouble parallel parking and every time I get an erection, I get a headache.”

Hi, Everyone! Started off July with a trip to PBIR (Palm Beach International Raceway) a raceway that is a Motorsports facility located west of Jupiter which incorporates a quarter mi. drag strip as well as a rd course & go-kart track -- a great place to take your car, bike, karts and see how fast they go!! Rode out to Cafe' 27 Sat. nte - a local favorite hangoutwhich is in the western reaches of Broward county. They are under new management and introducing new events and bands - such as country nte on Sat. nte - during the day is Blues & Classic Rock band day. Cafe' 27- an outdoor Tiki venue which really kicks it up w. vendors- bands - food and 100's of bikes. Ricky Valido aka Hialeah Hillbilly - was playing all your country favorites & really got the place hopping. If your'e in the area, stop by & check it out! Visited the new Indian Dealership of Ft. Lauderdale for their Sat. event. They offer a free cookout with burgers-dogs & drinks -Also featured that day was the band- which has a catchy name FUBAR! -(F*#" ed up beyond all recognition) LOL !! The band is made up of 3 young dudes - very talented who can really rock it - Also on vocals - Special guest Joe Byerley of Hired Gunz Band, another local favorite - great music! Took a ride to Ft. Lauderdale to attend the annual event "Smoke on the Water" which is on the New River. It's a competition amongst several local barbeque restaurants featuring vendors, live music and some of South Fl's best Pit Masters-

very Kool! There was even a vintage train, the Catabella Express, that took people around the park - what a fun time! Also attended a local benefit @ Flossies Bar & Grill -another popular local hotspot - for one of our favorite musicians, Pete Lundblad, who had his equipment stolen while playing @ another venue-creeps - what's wrong with people nowadays?! It was a great night hosted by Pam - owner of Flossies and also the Jeffrey James acoustic trio band was keeping the crowd entertained. What a great showing of support from the local businesses & friends of our community! Despite the rainy forecast- took a chance & was able to fit a ride in to Gilberts Resort (largest Tiki bar in Keys ) to watch another one of our local favs.' -MNG Band -Mr. Nice Guy who always packs the house & wows the crowd! Took some back rds through the Redlands - a beautiful rideone tropical nursery after another - a scenic ride for sure!! Looking forward to some early August events -The Vintage Bike show in Hollywood which will be televised by Velocity! Also the benefit ride for MDPD Major Rick Carter, who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. Cartel Baggers will be sponsoring the ride. Hope to see you there!! Well, that's it for now - more from KJ's Korner next month! Let's enjoy the ride & keep the rubber on the road!
