FINALLY!!!! Pre-season football is here and it’s almost time for the NFL season to begin! I love football and Hockey, my two favorite sports! Last year we had our Fantasy Football league and, your truly, won the entire thing! I am a huge Bucs fan and almost our entire office is as well. We are excited as we are doing a Pre-Game tail gate on August 23rd at Moramoto in Tampa (about a mile or two away from the stadium). We are going to have hot dogs, burgers, brats, beer, soda, cornhole boards, football skill games and much more! Andrew and his team are awesome and we though how cool to do a tail gate party at his location right down the street from the stadium. We tried setting up our Tuck-a-buck poker run in July and got rained out 3 different times! So, we said let’s try and make this happen but re-fresh the name and the look and keep it in Pinellas and Pasco like it has always been. So, we re-named it the MAKE IT RAIN POKER RUN on August 9th starting at Silks on US 19 in Palm Harbor and ending at the Vue in Hudson. This is always a great ride and a lot of fun for adults only! The end of August (Labor Day Weekend) we are helping put on a huge event at the new location of Bert’s Barracuda on 49th street across from Quaker Steak and Lube. The event will be August 30th , August 31st and September 1st, that is a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday night is sponsored by Moramoto and they are giving away two grom motorcycles. I don’t want anyone to be surprised as there is a $5 suggested donation charge to get in each day of the event. This fee is going to local charities that Fran Haasch herself has chosen to be part of this event. You can

even buy a jam jar with a portion of the proceeds going to charity as well. Saturday night at the Bert’s Biker Jam we have a great band playing, Drowning Pool! You all know the son, Let the bodies hit the floor! Then on Sunday you have a great latin band and Jeff Vitolo and the Quarter Mile Rebels along with a car and bike show. This is a soft grand opening for the new property as Bert’s will be officially moved into the “pavilion” area for the time being until the new Main building is finished. From what I have been told should be around the Expo time in February. The Tampa Harley group is also hosting their Miss HD Florida Competition and your truly gets to help emcee the next two competitions! There will be one at New Port Richey HarleyDavidson at Throttle Thursday Bike Night, August 8th and then the next Thursday at Brandon Harley August 15th. This is great as all the ladies then compete in Panama City Beach for the main prize! You will not want to miss these beautiful ladies competing for Miss HD Florida. We here at Full Throttle have been working on the 2020 Florida motorcycle Expo that is happening again at Bert’s Barracuda and will be 5 days long again February 5th – 9th 2020. We will be announcing the bands that will be playing the Expo this year on August 23rd on 98 Rock and Live streaming on our Facebook page! The bands we are looking to get this year will blow you away! We are very excited as we feel this will be the biggest and best event to happen on the West Coast of Florida all year! Let’s just say you will not want to miss our announcement on Friday August 23rd in the afternoon. There will be plenty more information to come, so stay tuned! The Mistakes All Untrained Riders Make When I say the mistakes all untrained riders make, I’m not talking about just beginners. I’m talking about ALL UNTRAINED RIDERS, including people who have been riding for 20 or 30 years and even longer. This is because riding a motorcycle well is the opposite of your instincts. Your instincts tell you to look at the obstacle you don’t want to hit. Since your hands follow your eyes, if you look at that obstacle, your hands will steer you right into it. Look at that car that just turned left into your path and you’ll ride right into it, instead, look for your escape path. On a winding road, if you look at the guard-rail or the yellow line, you’ll go right into it. If instead, you focus as far around the turn as possible, you’ll make it through that curve every time. I see this phenomenon at my Ride Like a Pro class every Sunday morning. A rider looks at the cones on the left side of the lane when making a left U-turn, and they run right over those cones. If they correctly looked as far over their shoulder to the left and ignore those cones, they’ll make it every time. During low speed maneuvers, a rider’s instinct says to go as slow as possible. The fact is, it’s extremely difficult to control a motorcycle at a slow walking pace. If you don’t believe me, try turning your motorcycle at a walking pace. What you need to do is get your speed up to 8 to 10 mph, you are able to lean the bike and it turns easily. Throw in using the friction zone of the clutch, a little throttle and a little rear brake along with looking where you want to go; even tight, low speed turns, are as easy as pie. If you think you are a trained rider because you took the beginner MSF course, you’re wrong. Their job was to teach you beginner basics on a little, toy bike. If you passed that course, take the MSF experienced course on your 900 lb. Harley and you’ll quickly find out how little you know about handling a heavyweight motorcycle. At my Ride Like a Pro course, 95% of the student riders are on heavyweight motorcycle. Their experience level runs from six months to 40 years of riding. Believe it or not, that makes no difference. The mistakes the six-month riders make are the same as the riders with 40 years of riding experience. The good news is all of them improve tremendously in as little as an hour of training using the techniques I teach. At the end of the class, four to five hours, the difference in their skill level is nothing short of amazing. So, stop kidding yourself, stop depending on instincts and dumb luck. Start learning how to really ride that bike you paid so much money for. August is here at last (and my birthday
month to boot). Can we say “Bye-Bye” to the rain yet? I would have to say, I don’t think I have ever seen this many Bike Nights and events get rained out! Phew! Let the rainy season be over! Yes please, and thank you! Maybe about 10 years ago, I was a Pluviophile, but not any longer. Because I prefer the roads we all ride on to be dry, especially for Bike Nights AND weekend trips, I no longer qualify as a fan of rainy days. The Urban Dictionary describes Pluviophile as a noun and is “a lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days”. May we just have enough rain to keep the “water table” at a comfortable bit of rain each day - which used to be quite normal in Florida at least. Many of you may or may not know, three to four nights per week at 7p.m., I go “Live” with Soul Circus Cowboys “Pause For Peace”. Followers of the Pause (P4P) are notified they can watch us live and ask for

positive thoughts, prayers or just someone to listen. If you’d like to join the Pause or be notified, just send me an email at sisterghs@gmail.com and I’ll send you a link for the “Live” notification. It seems as though I am always asking for help to move mountains. I can tell you that I have been shown, “If you’re going to ask for help to move mountains, be prepared to wake up next to a shovel”. On kind of a FUN note, I have a good friend who is presently writing a pilot for a sitcom which will hopefully be shot in the next month or two. This will truly be a collaborative effort of some of my favorite minds and creative gurus. Presently, I am going to be cast as the blond biker wife, maybe ditsy, absolutely funny and adorable. One role is still open for casting. I will be needing a husband, LOL (just for the show). The producers are looking for a burly, tough. leather-clad biker dude, who is sensitive and with somewhat of a child-like attitude. The pilot will be shot on the weekends and you must not be afraid of being in front of a camera. Normally, you will see both a veteran and his/her spouse, but in our case, we are both veterans. Kat and I have been married for almost 26 years, and we lived the dual active duty military life in the USAF. I was a B-52 Crew Chief and she was a AC-130 Gunship Electrician before changing hats to an Intel Analysis. With her career field, Kat would deploy a lot more than I would, and has done remotes to Turkey, Korea, Europe and the sandbox. Throughout all of this, we raised our 2 kids who are grown are very successful in their lives. It was tough being the single dad or mom for months on end, but we made it work. We have seen and done a lot in the Air Force, and are both proud to have served our country. Today, we are both retired but still working in our related fields. We also are avid riders. I rode early on in life but hung it up while raising the kids. Kat enjoys the ride with me on

the '04 Heritage, but she decided to have her own. Kat is now the proud owner of a '02 Super Glide. She also gave me the green light to buy a barn find '67 BMW R-50 sidecar rig that will be undergoing a restoration soon. She will then be able to take the dogs out for rides with this! Trust me, having a lovely wife who kicked butt in the military, is a great mother and puts up with my crap is a blessing. Having a wife who loves bikes is icing on the cake. Welcome to Erock’s world and thoughts. I would like to start off by talking about a 15 year old young man that is much different than your traditional 15 year old. Many of us think of young men sitting at home playing video games, playing on their cell phones, or trying to find a cute young lady to call his own. Not this guy, Emmanuel Rezande is an up and coming bike builder who takes his craft to an entirely different level. While he has not quite moved into a traditional motorcycle build, Emmanuel has indeed built some very remarkable motorized bicycles that would blow your minds. Have you ever thought of taking something as small as a weed eater motor and turning it into a bike motor? Have you ever looked at a traditional bicycle and thought what would that look like if it were made out of wood? That ladies and gentlemen is what this unique young man has done. We at Full Throttle Magazine asked what it would take to move Emmanuel into an actual motorcycle

builder, and his response was I just need a motorcycle. With the assistance of Paul Cianci (Chief ) we were able to make that dream a reality. Paul donated an old bike that needed put together and Emmanuel stated he would not only put it together, but that he would have a bike ready for the Boardwalk at Biketoberfest in Daytona. We cannot wait to see what concept this man brings to the boardwalk I assure you. Keep up the hard work and dedication to your craft young man you are truly inspiring Now for the events that we have coming up. This month will bring to us the Bert and Fran Jam, 30 Aug – 1 Sept. We are gearing up for three days of fun and giving back. So, open up your wallets and come out and support Fran Haasch’s charities, as this is a charity event. Besides a tune up, a few last minute customizations and a good detailing, many Harley owners are flocking to their local audio specialist to upgrade their stereo system. According to Peter Jensen, owner of Soundz, Inc. located in Daytona Beach, “One of the most popular requests has been to add Apple Carplay® to 2014 to 2018 Harleys. Harley Davidson® introduced the GTS radio with Carplay® in 2019 and customers with older bikes are looking for a way to retrofit them. Unfortunately, the GTS radio will not work in the 2014 to 2016 models at all, and the 2017-2018 models require first changing out the ECM, BCM, ABS module and instrument cluster to 2019 model year equipment.
