We tried to put as many pictures in the magazine that we could. Be safe and be smart this holiday season. Don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! Motorman’s Tips, Tricks and Techniques

I frequently get asked by riders that plan on purchasing a new motorcycle if they should spend the extra money for ABS (anti-lock brakes). The answer is a resounding YES. ABS is a life saver and probably the best innovation to come along in years. The fact is, most motorcycle crashes could have been avoided had the rider had an ABS equipped motorcycle. Forget for a moment who cause the crash. It doesn’t matter who’s at fault when your sliding across the ground and wind up in the hospital and your motorcycle is totaled. Most motorcycle crashes happen when a vehicle violates your right of way. The rider then panics, locks up the rear brake or both brakes, then slides onto the ground and right into the vehicle they were trying to avoid. In these situations, a rider will exclaim, “I had to lay the bike down!” It’s as if the rider believes the bike will stop sooner by sliding on the ground and can be steered somehow while doing that sliding. That of course is nonsense. The bike will stop shorter on its tires, period. I understand fully that modulating the brakes to keep them from locking the tires is difficult, especially for someone that never practices emergency braking. That’s exactly why ABS is a life saver on a bike with ABS, the tires cannot lock if the bike is straight up. Even in wet conditions or an oily surface. The bike will stop straight and true every time. You must remember, the bike cannot be leaning when you apply the brakes with full force. If you straighten up the bike you can slam on both brakes as hard as you care to without locking the tires and skidding. There are two types of motorcycles, KTM and BMW where you can in fact, use full force on the brakes even with the bike in a lean. That system is not yet available on Harley’s or any other cruiser type motorcycle that I’m aware. Harley provides an excellent video on all their models with ABS that show what ABS can and can’t do. I highly recommend getting that dvd out of the saddlebag and watching it. I also recommend testing your brakes on your ABS equipped motorcycle. Start at 20 mph and work up to whatever speed you’re likely to ride. A short practice session will give you the confidence to use your brakes to their fullest extent prior to an emergency braking situation. So, if you’re wondering if you should go for the extra money, of course you should. Personally, I won’t buy any new bike without ABS. I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. I also hope that you go to my website, www. ridelikeapro.com and purchase my NEW Best Combo package. The three techniques I teach you to master will save your life because you’ll have skills and confidence for riding that new shiny motorcycle Santa brought you. It’s the best hundred bucks you’ll spend on you. Trust me, everything from A to Z about riding properly is in this package deal. Till next month, get out there and practice. We had a huge turn out for Full Throttle's 20th Anniv. Party at New Port Richey Harley and we wanted to share as many pictures as we could in the magazine. We also posted them all to our Facebook page! Thank you to everyone who came out to the party and everyone who reads our magazine every month. We hope to continue on for many more years helping the biker community stay informed on events and putting on events. Much love to all! Thank you to all of our great sponsors like Fran Haasch, Michelle Osborne, Team Farrell and MetroPCS. Be safe and be smart, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Tony Cianci

Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas to all the biker brotherhood! I wish I could say I had been riding…but having dyslexia and being still a baby rider…takes a clear, calm mind… not always possible on the weekends with a home full of teenagers! I had to buy the new battery already! I hope December brings more rides, now all that leather will not be so hot and distracting. Maybe the kids will follow suit! This month I had the exciting opportunity to sit down with Les and Pam McCurdy owners of the world famous McCurdy’s comedy theater in Sarasota. I have been coming there for years, seen some great acts , Met the coolest comedians and I was thrilled to talk with them. McCurdy's Comedy Theatre was established in Sarasota/Bradenton Florida in 1988,moved a couple times over the years to their most recent downtown Sarasota Location. First question: “Have you or Les ever ridden Motorcycles”…not together was her answer…I asked if Les ever actually drove one…Butt to Nut I’m afraid… So they are not Bikers, but they sure are a whole lot of fun , manage a suburb comedy theater, and spend many hours a week giving back to charity. Pam McCurdy used to do her own stand up routine but has hidden back in the shadows for years since, saying she had to commit to continuing to perfect her craft of stand up or commit her time to the business side of the club, she chose the later ,while Husband Les McCurdy is a regular on stage doing his own comedy show before the headliners like John Levitz, Caroline Rhea , Sinbad to name a few perform. Larry the cable guy got his start on their stage and the “Giterdone” phase was first used on McCurdy’s stage. They run an monthly comedy stand up class and improv class, I know my

32

friends are all hoping I do not take , but it looks like a lot of fun. They also use the comedy club for “no Brainer” fundraisers where you do nothing but show up and your group earns money while you laugh ,eat and drink…no selling cookies, cheesecakes or wrapping paper. Any of you PTO moms in my world reading this? Bikers too…it’s an easy way to raise money for your 501C..Invite me in the process, we love McCurdy’s . I asked the McCurdy’s the most interesting thing that has ever happened over 25 years in owning and managing a comedy club. They told me about a time when two bounty hunters came in and arrested their comedian onstage guns drawn, they thought it was a prank from “Ron and Ron”… That was years ago. before they moved to their swanky downtown Sarasota location and had names like Yaakov Smirnoff and Jeff Foxworthy. I asked who the still sought after comedian is… “Arsenal Hall” he has been booked but had to cancel for Movies said Pam McCurdy.… I will be there for that show ! I asked about any pet peeves…they both had the same one…people who come in drink too much get too loud then tell their manager she is getting fired for throwing them out . That does not happen very often…I had to laugh to myself as my groups seem to be always getting warnings for laughing too loud ,so far they let us stay ! The McCurdy’s said they welcome Bikers, they will miss them downtown during the “Thunder by the Bay” that has been moved to Lakewood Ranch, stop in the greenroom for a drink or catch the late show, it’s next to the new world of beer and wing house…too much fun in one block . Well Happy Holidays and Happy 20th Birthday Full Throttle Magazine… it has been a blast working for the full throttle family. We have been having great success with our live streams and I have had a lot of fun doing them, give me a call/email to get your business profiled. I don’t know if you guys have noticed that I haven’t been around for a while. I’m not well and pretty much down and out. I have been with the magazine since day one, and this is the first time that I wasn’t able to attend the Anniversary Party. Besides missing the party, I also miss everything connected with the magazine. I use to be able to spend all my time at the bike nights and swap meets. I am now 82 and basically stuck at home. It sure sucks getting old. Now I’m just another grumpy old man. I do still force

myself to go to Webster once a month, so if you get there, stop by and see me. SEE YOU SOON MILLIE ‘OL CHARLIE THREE FINGER

Hi All, just sitting down to share a few things that have been going on! Boy when the cold weather came along it was COLD! Fall weather was in here for the Full Throttle 20th Anniversary Party at the New Port Richey Harley Davidson store and it turned out to be a perfect day full of fun, food, drinks, music and some big money giveaways!! $2,000 was given away throughout the day. $400 each hour to 4 different people, 5 times during the day - there were some really happy people and I am sure some not so happy because they left to early! You had to be present to win!! Jeff Vitolo and the Quarter Mile Rebels rocked the day away and kept the crowd going! We had vendors that were well liked by those in attendance because all the merchandise vendors were happy. There were drinks that most of everyone enjoyed both beer and adult beverages. The food vendors did well with some of them even running out of food!! It was one hell of a good time!! The next big event coming up is one of the favorites for us all!! It is the 19th annual Teddy Bear Toy Run to St Joseph's Children's Hospital. Saturday, December 17th at Tampa Harley Davidson - Kickstands up at noon, so make sure you get there early and get registered!! I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends. Anne & I did something new this year we took a mini vacation to Virginia Beach and had a great time where it was even colder weather (Florida was 80!!!), We enjoying time with some side trips and at the hotel on the beach with a private balcony facing the ocean - We even made a point of catching a sunrise .... only because we had to get up early to leave on Sunday and drive all the way back home to be at work on Monday!! It was a nice trip but missed spending the time with the grand kids! If I don't get to personally wish you a Merry Christmas I hope you and your families have wonderful times and create some new memories. Be safe over the holidays!! Till next time.......Live Life to the Fullest and Party Your A$$ Off....Dew

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates. “In honor of this holy season,” Saint Peter said, “you must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven.” The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. It represents a candle, he said. You may pass through the pearly gates Saint Peter said. The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, “They’re bells” . Saint Peter said you may pass through the pearly gates. The third man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women’s panties. St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, “And just what do those symbolize?” The man replied, “They’re Carols”.

*************************************** On Christmas morning a cop on horseback is sitting at a traffic light, and next to him is a kid on his brand new bike. The cop says to the kid, “Nice bike you got there. Did Santa bring that to you?” The kid says, “Yeah.” The cop says, “Well, next year tell Santa to put a tail-light on that bike.” The cop then proceeds to issue the kid a $20.00 bicycle safety violation ticket. The kid takes the ticket and before the cop rides off says, “By the way, that’s a nice horse you got there. Did Santa bring that to you?” Humoring the kid, the cop says, “Yeah, he sure did.” The kid says, “Well, next year tell Santa to put the dick underneath the horse, instead of on top.”

Little Johnny had a cussing problem and his father was getting tired of it. He decided to ask his shrink what to do.

The wife comes home early and finds her husband in their master bedroom making love to a beautiful, sexy young lady! “You unfaithful, disrespectful pig! What are you doing? How dare you do this to me, the faithful wife, the mother of your children! I’m leaving this house; I want a divorce!”

The husband, replies “Wait, Wait a minute! Before you leave, at least listen to what The shrink said, “Since Christmas is comhappened.” ing up, you should ask Johnny what he wants Santa to bring him. If he cusses “Hmmmmmm, I don’t know... Well, it’ll while he tells you his wish list, leave a be the last thing I will hear from you. But pile of dog poop in place of the gift or make it fast, you unfaithful pig!” gifts he requests.” Two days before Christmas, Johnny’s father asked him what he wanted for Christmas. “I want a damn teddy-bear laying right beside me when I wake up. When I go downstairs I want to see a damn train going around the damn tree. And when I go outside I want to see a damn bike leaning against the damn garage.” Christmas morning, Little Johnny woke up and rolled over into a pile of dog poop. Confused, he walked down stairs and saw another pile under the tree. Scratching his head, he walked outside and saw a huge pile of dog poop by the garage. When Johnny walked back inside with a curious look on his face, his dad smiled and asked, “What did Santa bring you this year?” Johnny replied, “I think I got a dog, but I can’t find the son-of-a-bitch!”

The husband begins to tell his story . . . “While driving home this young lady asks for a ride. I saw her so defenseless that I went ahead and allowed her in my car. I noticed that she was very thin, not welldressed, and very dirty. She mentioned that she had not eaten for 3 days. With great compassion and hurt, I brought her home and warmed up the enchiladas that I made for you last night, the ones you wouldn’t eat because you’re afraid you’ll gain weight; the poor thing practically devours them. Since she was very dirty I asked her to take a shower. While she was showering, I noticed her clothes were dirty and full of holes, so I threw them away. Since she needed clothes, I gave her the pair of jeans that you have had for a few years, that you can no longer wear because they are too tight on you. I also gave her the blouse that I gave you on our anniversary, the one you don’t wear because I don’t have good taste. I gave her the pullover that my sister gave you for Christmas, the one you refuse to wear just to bother my sister; and I also gave her the boots that you bought at the expensive boutique that you never wore again after you saw your co-worker wearing the same pair.” The husband continues his story . . . “The young woman was very grateful to me and I walked her to the door, at which point she turned around, and with tears coming out of her eyes, she asks me: “Sir, do you have anything else that your wife does not use?”
