I would first like to take this time to thank every single advertiser who has chosen to spend their hard-earned money trusting Full Throttle Magazine to help advertise for their business or event that happened this year and upcoming in 2019. We just celebrated 22 years as a company and magazine in November and we would not be here without our amazing advertisers. I wish I could go through and list every single one of you but that would take 10 pages of this magazine! We are here to help you and your businesses, and your events be successful. That is always my answer when I am asked; The goal of Full Throttle Magazine is to make you, our advertisers, successful and bring as much information to the biker community as possible. Thank you, I am honored to live in this motorcycle industry every day, have great biker friends and family and loyal readers like you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! The Annual Full Throttle Teddy Bear Toy Run will be December 8th starting at Tampa Harley-Davidson on Dale Mabry Hwy and heading over to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. This is always a great ride as the hospital is very welcoming to all the bikers and they bring the kids that are unfortunately in the hospital for the holidays outside to see all the bikes and get presents. These kids and families always have the biggest smiles on their faces when they see us roll up. We have the 50/50 win-

8

ner donate all of his winnings back to the ride at the FT 22nd Anniversary Party so we already have over $300 to buy presents for the kids. It’s not the biggest toy run in the area, but it’s one of the most rewarding. We hope to see everyone on this great ride December 8th. The Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational is right around the corner, February 7th – 10th 2019. We have so much planned for this amazing 4-day extravaganza from custom bikes competing for $20,000 in cash and prizes to winning $100 an hour and tons of great biker vendors. This is the 21st annual Expo and it is free to attend and free to park motorcycles. We are working with our neighbors across the street and you will be able to park there also and cross safely with police helping block the traffic for everyone. We have 7 National Acts playing on our stage and 12 bands in total over the 4 days. Friday night is Miss Intent (Awesome band from Orlando/ Daytona Area who is very much like PINK) and Brian Howe the lead singer from Bad Company. Friday, we have Comfort Zone kicking off the day and a band we are very excited to see, Love N Revenge along with Autograph (Turn up the Radio) and LITA FORD!!!! Saturday starts with Monkeybone, Jasmine Cain, VIXEN & WINGER!!! Sunday we will be giving away a custom Road Glide for FREE and we will have Soul Circus Cowboys and Jack Russel’s GREAT WHITE rocking the stage! We couldn’t put on this great event without our amazing sponsors that make it happen. We hope to see everyone there and if you are a vendor or sponsor, contact us today as vendor spaces are going quickly, 727-9354875. I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are looking forward to a huge 2019 in the biker community here in Florida. Be safe, be smart, don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon!

Motorman’s Tips, Tricks, and Techniques Don’t Make this Expensive Mistake I may have discussed this before, but, a recent conversation with a friend made me think it’s worth mentioning again. A friend of mine said he was seriously thinking of buying his wife a new Harley Street Glide for Christmas. I was unaware that his wife was even a rider since every time I’d seen the tow of them together, she was always on the back of his bike. My friend said, “well, she does ride but she has a Suzuki 800 and feels like she can’t keep up with the group he rides with because they all have big touring bikes, thus, she always rides with him as a passenger”. Now, I know the kind of riding my friend and his group usually go on. They stick to back roads and their rides are almost always 150 miles or so, round trip. The 800cc bike is fine for these types of rides. He said, “yeah but, whenever she tries to ride with the group, she would always fall way behind, especially on any kind of windy roads”. That statement told me his wife’s problem was not the bike, but her lack of skill. I asked him what kind of training

16

she’d taken. He told me just the basic beginner class about five years ago. I then asked him if he thought his wife’s confidence and skill would improve with more training or a bigger, heavier, bike? He admitted that more training is what she needed but said she was afraid to take any kind of advanced riding class. I told him that if he wanted my honest opinion, putting his wife on an 850 lb. bike will simply amplify her lack of skill and will destroy her confidence completely and would possibly have disastrous results. Whether he takes my advice is strictly up to him. Through the years, I’ve seen way too many people, men and women, move up to a full size 800 or 900 lb. bike long before they’re ready to do so. If you have problems at low speeds on your Sportster or any midsize bike, getting an 800 or 900 lb. bike will only make things worse and more dangerous. The better, safer, and cheaper answer is to get some serious advanced training on the bike you already ride. Then, when you can ride that bike with skill and confidence, you can move up to a bigger bike and then take some more advanced training on the heavyweight motorcycle. You will then enjoy riding so much more and get your money’s worth out of that big touring bike. It’s just common sense. With the holidays right around the corner, don’t forget to check out my website, www. ridelikeapro.com for everything you need to know about riding with skill and confidence and get the best bang for your buck! Think about it, you spend thousands on a motorcycle but not one dime on learning how to ride it with skill?! My Best Combo Deal is the best accessory for any rider and their bike. “Motorman” www.ridelikeapro.com Copyright 2018 Jerry “Motorman” Palladino

Well, where did the time go? Here we are in December! I really can’t believe how fast this year has gone. With all of the travel, bike shows and events we have been a part of these past 12 months, let me take a moment to slow things down and reflect on the great things that have happened. I bought my first bike this past year (a 2018 Triumph Bonneville Bobber from Tampa Triumph), got to be a part of my first “ride” to an event out at Leesburg (my first real ride was during the FT Key West Poker Run, where we went to the Southernmost Point in Key West), won a couple of bike shows out at The WingHouse, and even got to share some time on the road beside my lady (who also got her first bike this year, Thanks Bob DeMoss!), took part in the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride with Tampa Triumph, and even won a Poker Run (with a Full House – and proceeds going to St. Joseph’s Childrens Hospital), but most of all I remember getting to share some sea stories with Sailors and Marines whom I’ve crossed paths with. You can always tell the active/

34

retired sailors and marines out there. We seem to flock to the same circles, and seek out the same company. It has truly been my pleasure to meet/chat/bs with you, and the reason why I love my job here at the magazine. If you happen to be out and about this holiday season; surrounded by family and friends, give a nod and a prayer to those soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, coastguardsmen, fire fighters, police and first responders that can’t be there due to a higher calling. Happy Holidays from me and the Full Throttle Magazine Staff! Stay safe! And we will see you next year! The Veterans Crisis Line connects Veterans in crisis and their families and friends with qualified, caring Department of Veterans Affairs responders through a confidential toll-free hotline, online chat, or text. Veterans and their loved ones can call 1-800273-8255 and Press 1, chat online, or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

THE POWER OF FULL THROTTLE MAGAZINE IS COMING 2019 People always ask what sets us apart from the rest. I honestly have to say, I know why. We strive, on a daily basis, to bring you not only the biggest but the best biker Magazine in Florida. We have a standing joke in the office that we only work half days here at Full throttle, 12-hour days is so common we don't think anything about it. LOL. 2018 has been a world wind of activity. We have traveled the country to some of the biggest rallies in the world. We think it is so important to stay on top of the latest trends in the biker world. We strive to bring everyone the best of everything we can. The events we have planned for 2019 will show everyone the power of Full Throttle. These are some of the biggest

40

events in Florida and the country. Starting with the Full Throttle Expo. With 7 national acts and over 280 venders this will be the best and biggest thing anybody has

ever seen around here. There is so much planned and the works I wish I could tell everyone now. Stay tuned and keep an eye on the magazine for upcoming events. We will release everything as soon as we get all the eyes dotted and the t's crossed. Thank you 2018 for everything you have brought us. Merry Christmas and Happy New.

Merry Christmas form the Back Yard. Christmas time is always a fun time here in the Back Yard. Got to work off all that Thanksgiving turkey that I always eat too much of and still have a month of turkey sandwiches left to eat to hold me until Christmas. December is a great month here in Florida. All the Christmas Toy Runs happening all over our great state. No other state in the USA has as many toy runs as here in Florida and Full Throttle will be a part of many of them. It all gets started right out of the gate. December 1st come join ole MONGO at the Plant City Bike Fest. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making a visit there to start spreading the holiday cheer. Then the very next day December 2nd it’s the Bert’s Barracuda Toy Run, the old Jim’s Toy Run, starting this year at

42

the Trade Winds Resort down on St. Pete Beach. The route will be back to the old traditional route now that the construction is done everyone favorite section of the ride returns. Then December the 8th is the Full Throttle St Joseph’s Children's Hospital Toy Run. As always, we start at Tampa Harley-Davidson and ride right to the hospital. Always a great Toy Run. Then December 16th is the Suncoast Brotherhood Toy run. This year make sure you know it starts at the WAL-MART at the corner of US 19 and NE Coachman road. NOT THE OLD KMART PARKING LOT. See all the details in this month’s Full Throttle Magazine. Have a safe and wonderful Christmas and New Year. Ride safe everyone and remember. Always Keep Your Stick on The Ice... MONGO

What shaken everybody? You got your boy JC here hoping that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family & friends. I know the Sizzle house was filled with laughter, loved ones, yelling & the meat Sweats. (Turkey coma). Well worth the stress if you ask me of what all comes with the Holiday season. With the weather cooling off more and more of us are getting behind the handlebars and heading out to our great events & local bike nights around the Bay Area. Which brings up my next Concept. Trophies!!!! I’ve been given this great opportunity to place some

of my ideas in your homes, Man cave & garages. I see all the hard work and passion that goes into everyone’s scoots, so I wanted to raise the bar on what we give out at our bike shows. Being teamed up with my man Marvin from Misfit Metal Works in Tampa also helps. It’s so cool on how I’m able to talk with him about what I’ve got on my mind and watch my Concept come to life. I also want to thank everyone that gives me mad props on Facebook and Instagram. It’s very cool seeing all the pics and posts. So, thank you very much it really does mean a lot. Also, if there is a concept that you want done just give me a call my number is right above, I’m open to all ideas. Anyways I hope very has a Merry Christmas & Happy New year. Full Throttle Misfit Concepts coming soon!

Hey Y’all, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I am looking forward to the New Year welcoming 2019 with new adventures. November was a rough month for me. I had surgery on my right knee which took me away from my love and passion for riding. My knee is healing well the doctors say I should be riding Lacey soon. My son took Bert’s Barracuda riding class and I’m looking forward to riding with him. Also, my newest bike project has startedWhoop whoop! This month has a lot of events on the calendar helping the needy around Tampa Bay. December 8th is Full Throttle Teddy Bear Run to help St. Joseph’s Hospital. My son was 5

when he was there, so this event is dear to my heart. Every child deserves a toy. The last 2 months have flown by with poker runs and bike nights. I have had the pleasure of visiting some businesses around Pasco County and because of that I’ve found some great meet up spots (StarsCafe, Oaks Restaurant & Natalie's. Drop me an email of your favorite meet up spot. We would like to help local and family owned business. Reminder when you see me, let me show you how you can be a part of the Full Throttle Magazine Family. Happy Holidays from my family to yours.

Hello Everyone and welcome to December in The Florida Keys! We had that Indian Summer hanging around down here for the month of November but things are finally cooling down. Temperatures ranging from the high 70s to the low 80s are why all the Snow Birds flock to The Conch Republic this time of year. It makes my monthly haul up US 1 to Key Largo and back an even more wonderful ride, get them windows down and sun roof open instead of having to rely on the air-conditioning. It also makes for a beautiful bike ride. So join those Snow Birds, hop on and head south! While there are always fun things to do throughout the entire Overseas Highway stretch, the best December events are all the way down here at the bottom. Starting on December 5th we have the Lighted Bike Ride. It is a family event sponsored by Holiday Helpers, a local charity helping Monroe County’s working poor by providing gifts for families in need.

Families and individuals decorate and light up their bikes and cruise through the streets of key West. We also have the hometown Holiday Parade on December 8th followed by the famous Key West Lighted Boat Parade on the 15th. Organized by the World Famous Schooner Wharf Bar, Captains and charter boats decorate and light up the waters in a tropical tribute to the Holiday Season. A beautiful clear night, warm tropical breezes and thousands of lights is how Key West says Happy Holidays. Finally, the Key West Holiday Season wraps up with New Year’s Eve. No doubt about it, Key West loves to party. And we do it right for New Years. While NYC lowers the ball, we have 3 choices of lowering to observe. A giant conch shell above Sloppy Joe’s bar, a Pirate Wench on the mast of a schooner in the Historic Seaport, or (and everyone’s favorite), a Drag Queen named Sushi in a giant suede heel! I want to put a plug in for Moore Than Fades Barber Shop. When you do find yourself here and need to get that fresh look before the party, stop by and see Jarvis and Javier at 929 Truman Ave. These guys always take care of me and will have you looking good! Until next month, Happy Holidays folks!
