WOWZA! So much has gone on in just the first month of this year my head is already spinning! We started the year with Thunder by The Bay as we have always done, but Gamo and I made a trip down to Miami for the Progressive international Motorcycle Show and meet with a few bike builders, advertisers and our new rep in South Florida, PABLO GUTIERREZ! He is a ball of energy and I think is a great find for us here at Full Throttle Magazine. We are looking to branch out this year into other areas of the state like Tallahassee, Gainesville, Jacksonville and South Florida. If you are looking for a great side project or part time job to bring in a few extra bucks each month, give us a call and let's talk. We have a great magazine, huge numbers on social media and people still love reading a printed magazine. You can also find out magazine online for free on our website each month for those who like reading it online! Call us today and live life Full Throttle. We are already planning on the 75th Annual Bike Week events here in the office as well! Full Throttle will be hosting a few bike show's in Daytona and a full list of all of our shows will be in the March issue on our facebook page www.facebook. com/FLFTmag. We will also have booths set up at Dirty Harry's and the Daytona International Speedway all 10 days of Bike Week so stop by and say hi and pick up our sponsors information. Speaking of our Bike Week Sponsors. If you are interested in our Bike Week sponsorship it is only $800 and you get a full page ad in the March issue, we will design and print 5,000 1/4 page flyer to hand out, your logo will be on our banners in our tent and on our website and you can come out and hag with us in our booths and hand out your info and talk to people. It's really a great deal to get your name and business seen in Daytona at Bike Week. Call us for more info at 727-935-4875. Full Throttle is starting a new side business helping host, promote and create an event you would like to have. We can come in and help set up vendors, stages, photos, bands, advertising, sponsors, flyers, banners and much more. If you would like to have an event at your location and would like someone to make it happen, call us and we will sit down with you and figure out your budget and what your are looking to do and help you put it on. That way all you have to do is worry about doing your business as usual. We will help make the event happen. We can do anything from a bike night to a grand opening to a three day Mega Bash. We had a great time at our annual Florida Motorcycle Expo & Bike Builder Invitational this past month. We caught a little bit of bad weather but the event still came off as a big success. We had an estimate 15,000 people come by over the three day weekend and everyone seemed to have a great time! We are already in the process of planning next year's event and possibly one in the summer time at a location that will be announced in the next few months. We would like to thank all of the vendors, bike builders, sponsors, workers and every who attended the Expo this year and braved the cool weather and winds. If you are interested in being a part of the summer time Expo please let us know. I would like to wish everyone a happy Valentine's Day, especially my beautiful wife Tonya *Strawberries* and my two daughters Krysie and Ashlynn. I would also like to wish my Mom, Mary Cianci, a Happy birthday and my Step mom, Tracy Cianci, a happy birthday! Hope you all have a great month and remember, don't drink and ride and I'll see you soon!

The following story really touches my heart with a client and fellow rider I met about a year ago. I have changed his name and some of the numbers of the principal to protect our client but it is a very real client and I see this over and over again. John came to me about a year ago and after our meeting I asked him to go home and gather anything that related to his financial situation and we would look at it on our next meeting. At the very minimum I would help him understand what risk he might be facing including not earning anything on his money or outliving what he had. At our next meeting John told me that he had inherited some money and it was all still in the accounts he had inherited from his family. He was living only on his social security and was barely getting by. When he did need money he took some from one of the accounts he inherited. He brought stacks of his statements to me that he did not understand, nor did he want to. He was retired and just wanted to be riding his motorcycle or kayaking. John was very young for a 70 year old and just venturing out to meet his friends whenever he could afford to. I looked at John’s accounts that he thought he had about $350,000.00 in and quickly realized he really had about $850,000.00 at the current market value of his investments. Most of his parent’s money had been

invested in the stock and bond markets and over the years had grown significantly. He was not aware as most people are not, as to how to read and value the information on his statements from the many different firms and banks. The other thing that jumped off the page was the risk he was taking in the type of investments that they were in and like most, the interest accumulating was very little. He also did not have a will, power of attorney or health care power of attorney so his family would have had a very difficult time in helping him if he needed it or if something happened to him. I also knew that we were in a cycle of the markets that would probably create a great loss for him in the types of accounts he was holding if we should have a downturn in the economy. The other thing the jumped completely off the page was the enormous loss of income this man was losing. So I sat John down and we discussed his affairs and I explained in detail what he currently owned and how it worked. He had 10 different accounts. I explained the risk associated with the types of accounts he had and that since he was now retired he needed to consider locking in the gains and securing his principal. Last, I explained to John he would have only one account and that account would give him an income of over 5% for the rest of his life and pass directly to his beneficiaries at his death. I also explained he could decide how he could also name some of his beloved charities he wanted to receive monies at the end of his life. We also sent him to an attorney to have his will made and a power of attorney drafted in the event he needed it and guided him on how to make those decisions. After about a month, I called him back in to my office. I explained that he no longer had to worry about the markets or money. I told him that he would be getting a monthly check and that his principal would be secure. John was so very happy. He had one ac-

count, one person to call with questions and never dreamed that he could get that much income or that he could secure his principal. All of his affairs were now in order and he had a will, a power of attorney and peace of mind. I continue to get phone calls emails and little visits from John saying he was enjoying life so much more now. He would tell me of visits he could now take to visit his grandchildren and that when his daughter came to visit he took them all to Disneyworld or that he could go buy the seafood he loved or go out to eat whenever he wanted with his friends. This is what makes everything I do and all 30 + years in this business worthwhile.. Thank you John for also giving me the gift of knowing we changed a wonderful person’s life and touched your family in so very many ways. If you have a question you would like to ask me, never hesitate to call, no questions will go unanswered and all questions you have are important. See you next month… Michelle Disclosure: Michelle Osborne is a Registered Representative offering securities through IFS Securities, Member FINRA/MSRB/SIPC. 3414 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1020, Atlanta, GA 30326. January 22nd - 24th was the Florida Motoryccle Expo and bike builder Invitational at Quaker Steak and Lube in Clearwater. We had some iffy weather on Friday and Saturday but Sunday was beautiful. We had over 100 vendors, great sponsors and everyone at Quaker worked amazingly together to make it a huge success. We would like to thank everyone who attended this great event. If you missed it you missed one heck of a party! This was our 6th year hosting the Expo at Quaker steak and Lube and our 18th annual expo overall. Bill Church and his crew at Quaker did an awesome job, as always, making sure everyone was taken care of. Looks like it's time to start planning next years event now! We hope to see you all there and every Wed. night at Quaker Steak and Lube for Bike Night.

Hi All. Just sat down from one of the longest weekends of the year for me.... Yes it was the Florida Full Throttle Motorcycle Expo and Biker Build Off. We start put on Thursday with all of the set-up and end on Sunday evening with tear down. I must tell you if you didn't make it because you were worried about the cold then you missed a great event. There were 8 bands that played great music all weekend and the bike builder tent was full of bikes you would have enjoyed seeing. The weekend before that I entered the Jim's H-D Chili cook off and I must say all of the chili was good. There was also Gibtown that same weekend and it was a good event too. OK February is here and we will start off with the Zephyrhills Music & Motorcycles event on the 6th with the music by The Bearded Brothers. Come on out!! I will be DJ'ing for an hour or 2 before the band, there are vendors and of course don't forget the ride in bike show!. As most of you know Daytona Bike Week is coming up, March 4 -14. If you are camping check out the adult only campground. The ad is in the magazine, they have hot showers, a big fire pit and the price is great. Tell them Dew told you about it. Till next month..... Live life to the fullest and party your a$$ off.... Dew

Well folks, the 2016 Florida Motorcycle Expo was another great success. A little cold and windy but thanks to all the fans that came out to Quaker Steak & Lube we had a great weekend. Lots of amazing custom bikes from all over the USA went up against some of the best bikes from right here in the Tampa Bay area. Put that together with a band line up second to none rockin' the Full Throttle Stage along with 10 of the hottest ladies for the Miss Full Throttle Bikini Contest. What a great weekend, Can't wait till next year.

44

Now it's time to turn our attention to the 75th Bike Week in Daytona. Those dates are March 4th to the 13th. Full Throttle has got Daytona covered from Main Street to the Speedway. Be sure and check out some of the line ups thru Daytona in this month's Full Throttle. Well that's About it from the back Yard.. Ride safe everyone and remember Always keep your stick on the ice.. The new year has started off with a bang and there is so much coming up that is sure to keep us very busy! As you know from last month’s article, we had our Annual Diva New Year’s Day Ride to see the manatees. Unfortunately it was a bit warm at that time so the manatees were no shows, but we had a blast enjoying the ride and a nice lunch. We also bid farewell to one of our Divas, Gina Pardo in January. She went to live in Indiana with her daughter and son in law and two beautiful grandbabies. She said she wanted to be a hands on grandma and that’s impossible if you’re over a 1000 miles away from each other. Good luck Gina and enjoy your time with all of your kids! Next up was the Sock Fest. Our Diva table was set up on January 20th and we collected 350 + pair of socks!! This organization S.O.C.K.S (Students Organizing Cancer patients Krazy Socks) helps provide therapeutic socks, moisturizing socks and fun krazy socks to cancer patients and caregivers. These socks will help cancer patients with their needs, boost their spirits, and help them feel more at home while undergoing treatment. Their goal is to provide these socks to at least one Children's Miracle Network Hospital in all states and keep growing to include Hope Lodges and cancer facilities for all age groups. What an amazing organization. Check them out at http://www. socks4cancer. com/. A huge event our Diva Angels worked was the Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational at Quaker Steak and Lube. If you’ve never attended, you’re missing

the best expo ever. There were great bands, tons of food, hundreds of vendors and most importantly Bikes, bikes, bikes! We take part every year and have a great time meeting people from all over the country and raising money by selling raffle tickets for Tony and the Full Throttle team. Some of our Diva’s worked tirelessly Friday through Sunday, morning, noon and night to help anyway they could to be there for Full Throttle and their sponsors. We had rain the first day, very cold weather the second day, but Sunday was just beautiful. To finish off our busy month, we’re volunteering at the Gasparilla Parade on the 30th. We’ll be the one’s directing traffic to the Beer Garden, so look for our smiling faces. On January 31st we’re participating at an event that is near and dear to our hearts. The 5th Annual Children’s Benefit Poker Run sponsored by the Rotary Club of Central Pinellas. Our friend Denise Dowling and her team really put on a wonderful event. There’s music, and prizes including 50/50 and a big flat screen TV! All to benefit local families and foster children in need. The poker run begins at Jim’s Harley Davidson and ends at Quaker Steak and Lube. For more information, visit www.centralpinellasrotary.com or call (727) 420-5012. Please join us and this lovely organization for a day of fun! If you are interested in learning more about our organization, we meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Quaker Steak Lube in Clearwater (5:30-7 social meet & greet). You can also find us every 3rd Wednesday at the best Bike Night ever at QS&L. Please check out our website www.divaangels.org and find a chapter near you or visit us on Facebook! Ride safe! The bartender asks: -Why are you so in a hurry? -If you would have, what I have, you would be also in a hurry. TRIBUTE TO UNCLE JIMMY My dear uncle Jim passed away Christmas Day. I’ve never felt so helpless…so for those of you who have lost a loved one during the holidays, I understand. God must have wanted him in heaven to be taken away on Christ’ birthday. He was born on April 5, 1950 and was married to my aunt Stella (we’re more like sisters) for 36 wonderful years. Jim Thurston worked at RG Electric for most of his life in the distribution side. He retired from there too. Stella and Jim Thurston bought a house right across the street from us! Jim couldn’t stand NOT being busy, so he got a job at O’Reilly’s in Bradenton delivering parts. Jim and Stella’s very good friends, Paul and Margie Goddell, recalled some exciting events in Jim’s life. Jim and Stella bought a house in Webster 5 houses down from Paul and Margie. It was then that they became very good friends (BROTHERS). Paul and Jim both loved to ride! Jim was an outstanding person who loved to give. Among his many charities, Jim was very big in the MOOSE LODGE! He was very active in the MOOSE LODGE even becoming GOVERNOR of the PALMYRA MOOSE #1420 in Palmyra, NY (315-597-5320). He was very involved in donating his time and effort to the food drive which went on four times a year at the Moose Lodge. Paul recalls one time a lady who lost her husband wanted a box to put her husband’s flag. So Jim went out and bought her one and he had a plate engraved with his name on it and his unit! One of Paul’s favorite rides with Jim was unplanned, but they rode over 400 miles! But, that was the way they always rode. Nowhere 58

to go, not timed, nor anything. They were just out for a good ride! After he moved to FL, Jim and Stella were active in the Bradenton Moose (if fact, he was going to be Governor of Bradenton Moose!). Jim started the Rochester Dance Club too! He and my Aunt Stella loved to dance to the Big Band sound. They met at a Elvis concert! Jim had a Honda Goldwing (and Paul had one too). They rode many miles and did lots of runs with the American Legion Riders in Williamson. They also rode with the Patriot Guard Riders! Paul was Director of the American Legion Riders for 3 years too! Jim owned a Kawasaki and when he moved to FL, they bought a HarleyDavidson TriGlide. You will be missed, Jim… by your lovely wife, Stella Charlene Charlotte Maureen your sons John-John and many grandkids By your good friends, Paul and Margie, Eddie and Nancy, and by all those who were lucky enough to know YOU! In heaven, you’ll ride forever!!! ***** I visited these amazing shops: MOTORDOG69, John Mottola, Owner 407-325-3836 S & S MOTORSPORTS OF SARASOTA 941-7223 WET NOSES, Clare Ray, Owner 941-388-3647 ZAZZY SNAPS 479-677-3124 Til next issue, Nancy p., Full Throttle rep. There's nothing quite like having an ultimate job, and being part of the Florida Full Throttle team is it. I was born in Havana, Cuba just as the nascent Revolution evolved, forcing us to flee in hopes of a better life. But thanks to the crushing developments on the island, we soon realized what a blessing we had received when our family became U.S . citizens in New York, just as many generations before us. Not in my wildest dreams since I started riding Honda 350s in Mexico City during my first year in high school did I ever imagine being able to actually Live To Ride And Ride To Live!! I was a medic in the United States Air Force at Patrick Air Force Base while majoring in Marketing at Rollins College, graduating from the Honda CB 350 to the bulletproof 750 Four and the venerable 74 Shovelhead FX Superglide and the 80 c.i. FXS Low Rider. Since then I have made our state my home and consider myself a true, through and through Floridian. I was involved in all aspects of the automotive and motorcycle industry for the next 20 or so years, and developed a thriving construction company from which I semi-retired. I now ride a Honda Goldwing GL as my daily runner to make my rounds and a Harley Davidson Dyna FXDL Low 72

Rider bar hopper, my present "work vehicles ". The crew at Florida Full Throttle is a highly dedicated group of riders who are fully focused on bringing you comprehensive coverage of events throughout our great state of Florida. Our Advertising Program is second to none, helping us feature great business establishments in every issue. A testament to the success of our ongoing efforts to Growing Your Business At Full Speed is the repeat presence of most of our participating advertisers. Our staff at Florida Full Throttle doesn't just "sell you an ad". We are creative, comprehensive in our marketing techniques to promote your business, and fully focused on finding more ways to get the word out. We don't just sell you an ad...we go to work for you. We are now aggressively expanding our coverage area from Cocoa to Key West and all points in between. Distribution points for Florida Full Throttle magazine will be published starting in our next issue with monthly updates for easy reference to your nearest location.

Bike Night at Carolina Ale House in Weston.

I'm very excited about our new venture on the East Coast and hope to have the opportunity to work for you Growing Your Business At Full Speed! Pablo Gutierrez Cell - 305-967-3877 PabloFullThrottle@gmail.com Growing Your Business At Full Speed
