Motorman’s Tips, Tricks, and Techniques Just the other day while out for a ride, as I was pulling up to a busy intersection and slowing for the red light, I saw a fellow rider on what looked like a new Harley Ultra waiting to pull out from a side street to my right. I was in the middle of the three lanes, about 10 cars back from the light. I stopped and waved him out so he could pull out into the line of cars waiting for the light to change. As he pulled out, I noticed he had both feet sticking straight out like outriggers. He passed in front of me and was attempting to pull across all three lanes to get into the turn lane to make a left. The left turn signal was green, so he had to go very slowly to wait for the cars that were moving and making their left. When he saw his chance, he pulled quickly into the left turn lane with both feet still sticking straight out. Just then, the left turn arrow went red and the car in front of this guy hit the brakes. Mr. foot-dragger who hadn’t finished his turn, grabbed a handful of front brake and if you’re a loyal reader of this column, you know what happens if you hit the front brake with the handlebars turned. He went down hard and fast. Worse yet, his ankle was caught under the bike. I jumped off my bike and lifted

his bike up enough for him to get his ankle free. That gave me enough room to upright his bike for him. By this time, the light had turned green and of course, the cars behind my bike were now parked and began blowing their horns. Mr. foot-dragger was limping badly and was quite shook-up. I told him to make his left and pull into the parking lot on the right and I’d follow him. His biggest worry was possible damage to his bike. Being an Ultra, with crash bars front and rear, there was no damage to the bike. Since the guy was able to move his foot around, he didn’t seem to be hurt. About this time, the guy notices the Ride Like a Pro decal on my fairing and tank and says, “you’re that motorman guy, I saw your show at Bike week!” He then starts laughing and says, “of all the people to drop my bike in front of, it had to be you!” I then asked him if he knew why he went down. He said, “yeah, that guy stopped too fast”. I had to laugh because I knew that’s what he was going to say. I then informed him in the nicest way possible that he went down because he snatched the front brake with his handlebars turned and his feet were sticking out in the wind instead of on the floorboards where he could have used the rear brake and avoided the tipover all together. I then handed him my card and told him to come to one of my classes. So far, I haven’t seen him. He’s probably afraid he might drop his bike during the class. Go figure. Hey y 'all. Each one of us ride our own rides for a reason, whether it be a passion for wind or a passion for motorcycles. If it's on your own or on the back, it does not matter, wind is wind. Until a few years ago I would have told you I'm not a biker, but a girl who rides a bike. Then I went to my first bike week in Daytona and my first Biketoberfest riding down main street. I customized my own bike and rode that Motorcycle 15,000 miles and won my first bike night trophy from Full Throttle Magazine. What an awesome ride this has been. Every one of us know what it's like to hear pipes and turn your head. Now I can proudly say, "hey! I'm a biker chick having one heck of a time!" What a way to kick off the New year. The poker run with David Moss was a blast. I'm still smiling from watching everyone ride in on their bikes welcoming 2019. Gibtown Bikefest I ran into so many friends and I had

Well it is almost here. The biggest party on the west coast of Florida. The Florida Full throttle Expo is the biggest and best bike event it has ever been. With 300 plus vendors and 7 national acks it's sure to impress everyone. I hope to see you all there. Feb 6th through the 10th is 5 days of none stop action. Did I mention girls girls girls and even some eye candy for the ladies? January has been one hell of a month. Between preparing for the Expo and the Key West poker we have been so busy. The bike nights have been great, and the weather has been awesome. I have put almost 2000 miles on my bike just this month. One of them is at our new location and new home of Full Throttle Magazine for bike week in the Hard Rock Hotel in the beautiful ball room the first sat of bike week. Very high-end bike show showcasing the best of the best. Of course, we still have the Board walk show on Friday then the speedway show is on Sat. as well. We are also putting on bagger shows at the Grandview Live strip club Monday night and Thursday Night. If you haven't been to one of these nights time shows you don't know what you are missing. They are quickly becoming some of the best shows of Bike week. All the lights, sound and beautiful bikes is a must see. Deland bike rally is also the first sat of bike week. What an amazing turnout we had for the New Year's Cruise Around the Bay Poker Run , We had people lined up and signing up before it was time to (AWESOME), BUT what really got me he most was the look on Twinkie's face when Chief Cupcake the Owner of Florida Full Throttle Magazine handed him some money that was raised for him (unaware to him). That's what I Love about the Biker Community. Then there's the Key West Poker Run what an AWESOME time and again BIG BIG Thanks to everyone who

was on the ride but also those that worked each stop and to the Owner's/GM's that allowed us to use their Business as a stop. It was truly an HONOR to ride with a couple of co-worker's in the Key's for one it was their first time in the Key's and for Eric and Shawn to Honor their Dad a fellow Veteran THANKS for letting me apart of this time. What's going on everyone. I hope everyone is riding safe, doing great and enjoying this new year. I want to let you know a little bit of what's going on we have the expo going on from February 6th to the 10th. That always gets me excited because it's always a great time. But the part I'm really excited about is that I was honored in making the trophies this year. That's right J-Sizzle Concepts custom trophies at the motorcycle expo..... I can't thank Tony enough for giving me this opportunity to share my concepts with you all. I also have to say thank you to Marvin from Misfit Metal Works for all his help making my concepts come to life.

I've been staying really busy with my Full Throttle Misfit Concept trophies. You can always check out some of my concepts on Facebook. Just look for J-Sizzle Concepts or if you find yourself out and about take a ride to Lakeland Harley. Megan will proudly show off their custom artwork. If you find yourself around Brandon Harley, you can check out my 115 years behind bars concept that's hanging up. Or even Tampa Harley. Check out some Sizzle concepts and Maggie has exciting events going on there all the time. But, every 3rd Saturday of the month Burt's Barracuda Harley Davidson has a 100-horse power event that everyone has to checkout and possibly take one of my trophies home. Most importantly when you find yourself at any of the Harley's, look around spend some time in them. There are some of the friendliest people who work there I have ever met. Well folks, it’s that time of year again. EXPO TIME. And this year the 21st Annual Full Throttle Motorcycle Expo is bigger and better than ever. 5 days of bikes, fun and as always tons of great entertainment. We kick it all off with a special Wednesday bike night from 6pm to 10pm with Jezabelle. She will be rocking the bike night pep rally the Wed. night before the expo begins. All vendors will be up and running so come check out the new location early and get a sneak peek at the bikes in the builder invitational. Then Thursday we kick it up a notch with Miss Intent from 5pm to 7pm and Brian Howe Bad Co. from 8 to 10pm. doing all your Bad Co favorites! On Friday it’s an all-day rock & roll bash with HOLLYWOOD BLVD, from 11am to 1pm, Love N Revenge from 2 to 4pm, then at 5pm it’s Autograph taking the stage to Turn Up The Radio. To close out Friday the Guitar Queen Lita Ford rocks the house at 8pm. Saturday the party continues with Monkey Bone at 11am. Then at 2pm its Jasmine Cain’s high energy show you don’t want to miss. it’s the 1st round of the Miss Full Throttle Contest “Evening Gowns” presented by Carol Hill Productions and Sponsored by Lets Ride, Then the Ladies of VIXEN take the stage at appox. 5pm followed by the finals of the Miss Full Throttle contest. Once we crown the winner we get set for Winger. Sunday it’s Soul Circus Cowboys at noon then all the fun awards show and then someone will win that Harley-Davidson Bagger. And to close out the show it’s Jack Russell's Great White. It’s all free admission and free bike parking, but car folks come on out we have parking around the area for parking. As we close the doors on another month we can all look forward to an exciting month to come. Like the many years past, Full Throttle Magazine will be hosting the 21st annual Florida Motorcycle Expo February 6 - 10, 2019. I am personally looking forward to meeting with all of the great vendors that we will have onsite. The months of working together in preparing for this event will allow me an opportunity to meet each one of you, as well building the longterm relationships for many events to come. While we tend to look for all of those big and exciting events that are coming, let us not forget that there are many events happening month after month in our own backyards. Whether a bike night at a local establishment or a poker run that spans many

establishments, it is these smaller events that continually bring together those men and women riders that can build lasting friendships. Along with that, we as a biker community support the local businesses and vendors. Without these folks and these small events we are merely riders, but together we are a biker community. Finally, as we prepare for the beautiful months of riding weather to come ensure that you and your bike are ready for the road.
