Happy New Year Everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday season and is ready to get the new year started right. We have at least 4 months of great events coming up so start planning your weekends soon! Full Throttle is very excited for the new year as we are planning some huge events in 2017. Make sure you like our Facebook page and sign up for our weekly e-mail blast, as well as keep reading the magazine. We will be updating you on all the great events coming up each month. Our facebook page is www. facebook.com/FLFTmag and we post every day and do numerous live streams from events. These next 4 months are jam packed with HUGE events in the biker community. First is Thunder By The Bay in Lakewood Ranch. This event has been moved from Downtown Sarasota to a new area that is very welcoming to the biker community! They are expecting a very big turn out with great bands and tons of vendors. Look in this month’s magazine for more info and the event lineup. Second is our featured event on the cover of this month’s magazine. GIBTOWN BIKE FEST. This is a very fun event that will have the Marshall Tucker Band headlining. Full Throttle will be hosting a bike show on Saturday and Sunday. For more info call our offices at 727-935-4875. Then in February is our Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational at Quaker Steak and Lube. We use to be in January but we pushed it back as we had horrible weather on our weekend for the past 3 years. We are hoping for great weather as we will have QUIET RIOT headlining our event on Saturday night. This is a TOTALLY FREE EVENT that anyone can attend. We have tons of vendors, the $20,000 Bike Builder Invitational, $1000 Miss Full Throttle Bikini Contest, $100 an hour give-a-way, ride in bike show on Sunday and featuring for the first time ever……. THE WALL OF DEATH! To set up as a vendor call us or e-mail us today, spaces are filling up fast! BIKE WEEK IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER…. Do you have booth space yet? Well…. It just happens that Full Throttle has affordable booth space for you this year! We have rented out the Ocean Center 1 block from Main street Daytona Beach. Admission is free and a 10x10 booth space for vendors is only $500 for 8 days (Sat March 11th – Sat March 18th) This is going to be a new venue every year at Bike Week so get your spaces now. At the time of press we are half full and we will accept vendors until the day we open the doors! No insurance needed, no extra fees, no permits, and we have overnight security, no weather issues inside and FREE BEER every day at 1pm while supplies last!!!! What better deal can you ask for in Bike Week?!? Call us today 727-935-4875. The Rob Cartwright Memorial Music fest was such an emotional event. I offered to help emcee the event and it was amazing to see everyone who showed up, gave money, donated items and just showed love to Rob’s Family & The Bearded Brothers Band. Hundreds if not Thousands showed up to show their support. T-shirts sold out in the first hour of the event and bands played from 11am till 9pm with the Beards ending the day with probably one of the best sets I have ever seen them play. Aspen, Rob’s Son, even got up and sang House of the Rising Sun….. it was moving and words will never describe seeing that on stage. Love ya Rob, RIP PLEASE, be safe and ride smart…. We have lost so many friends and family members this year to motorcycle accidents. I can’t say enough to ride defensively, wear a helmet and take your time. Riding in Florida is tough enough with all the blue hairs and cages that don’s see us…. Don’t drink and ride! There are plenty of ways to get home safe if you are out having a good time… Call moto-tow, uber, lyft or whatever… just be safe and get home alive! Have a great new year and much love to all! Don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon!

Motorman’s Tips, Tricks and Techniques

Over the years, I’ve written about this subject a time or two. However, since I still get the same questions on the subject, I’ll give it another try. The questions go like this, “I just bought a new Ultra Classic and this bike is so top heavy, I keep dropping it; I can’t even seem to come to a smooth stop without almost falling over!”. I never had this problem with my Dyna/Sportster/Bonneville, etc., fill in the blank. What am I doing wrong? Out on the road, I’m fine, but a low speeds the bike just wants to fall over. In a nut shell, the problem is not the bike. The problem is you’re riding on instinct and when it comes to riding well or skillfully, your instincts are completely wrong. So, why didn’t you have this problem on your smaller, lighter, motorcycle you may ask? Well actually, you did. It just wasn’t as noticeable because you could muscle the smaller bike around. Now that you have a bike that weights 200 to 350 lbs. more than your last bike, you can’t muscle it around. If it starts to fall over, you simply can’t stop it due to the extra weight. So, the answer is not to spend more time in the gym but to get some skills. With skills, your strength or lack of same has no bearing. As proof, you can check out any of my Ride Like a Pro videos or my Ride Like a Pro YouTube channel where you’ll see tiny women handling their big, heavy, bikes like a child’s toy. The skills you’ll need are the proper use of your head and eyes, the proper use of the clutch/throttle, i.e., friction zone, and finally, the proper use of the rear brake. Master those three skills and you’ll think your bike went on a strict diet and dropped 300 lbs. As for why you keep dropping your bike, you could be using your front brake at low speeds with the handlebars turned. Doing that will pull you to the ground so fast you won’t know how it happened. Instead, at low speeds, drag the rear brake a bit as it will help steady the bike. At the same time, use the friction zone when maneuvering at low speeds. If you’re wondering why your unsteady when coming to a stop, I’d bet you’re looking down and possibly using the rear brake only to make your final stop. The correct way to come to a smooth stop is to use both brakes. Just before the wheels stop turning you should begin putting both feet down and finish the stop with the front brake making sure your handlebars are pointed straight ahead and your head and eyes are UP. Since you’re barely moving, at this point just a slight bit of pressure will be needed to complete the stop. Don’t snatch the front brake or grab it, just a little squeeze is all that’s needed. Since you’ve spent 26 or 30 grand on your new Ultra, wouldn’t it be smart to spend 150.00 dollars to learn how to actually ride it? Yes, it would. In addition, I highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve their skills to get a copy of my NEW Ride Like a Pro video. Watch it, then spend an hour or two practicing the techniques shown in the video. Do that and you won’t believe how much weight your bike will lose in such a short amount of time. Then, sign up for one of my classes and trust me, you’ll be the star of the class because you have already practiced the techniques that the others riders have no idea about. It’s all right there for you on my website, www.ridelikeapro.com. Till next month, Happy New Year and get out there and practice!

We would like to thank everyone for their support in making Downtown Bike Night a success. We have been diligently working with the city to make this event everything it can be. With the city's help and cooperation we will be closing selected streets for vendors and motorcycle parking, as well as other forms of entertainment for the event. Due to the holidays and the time it takes to create the right atmosphere for the overall success of this event, we will not have it January, but will resume on the second Thursday of February, FEB. 9TH. 2017. This will allow us the time we need to properly coordinate with the city, the street closure and all that entails for a successful Downtown Bike Night. Thank you for your patience and continued support. ML&R, 2W1L

Jay Leno…Not your average Biker. So what do you get when you mix a Biker, a Comedian, a Motor Head and Hollywood Icon….”Jay Leno”. Despite his fame, wealth, status he is one of the most humble celebrities I have come across. If it was not for the jaw and his still strikingly good looks (at age 66 he’s still got it ) he could fit in anywhere…until he speaks with that quick wit and humor. It is hard to know what to ask a man of his status that has not already been covered. I discovered we share a common bond of being dyslexic, a love for laughter ,missing our parents, a love for anything with a motor, the need for speed, racing and both of us have owned a Vega that cost less than $200.00 and fell apart going down the road. We do not however share the same financial strategy. With a net worth of over $350 million not including his cars and Bikes , he has not touched his” Tonight show earnings”, instead living off his stand up tours, acting ,writing and producing while banking the rest. He still finds plenty left to give to the many charities he supports and seek out the rarest Bikes and Cars. He came from humble beginnings growing up in Massachusetts,

son of an insurance agent and stay at home mother. One of his best known mottos is ”You relax, I’ll go work”. He has been known to do 300 shows in one year while touring. Currently he has a TV show called “Jay Leno’s Garage” featuring his 130 car garage…and all those cool rare bikes and cars on NBC. Good thing he has a show and a full staff to keep those cars and Bikes started. I offered my services , Maybe next time. So on the Motorcycles….his favorite out of the MANY he has sought out… His “Series C Black Shadows Vincent” .As a young kid he had heard of a man two towns over who owned a Vincent…it was like an urban legend until he saw the bike once in High School. Almost 30 years later he heard of a” Vincent” for sale and tracked it down across the country and bought it, turned out to be the same one from his Massachusetts roots.…funny how life comes full circle. And yes he rides it like he stole it. When asked about kids…it is easy to see why he and his beautiful wife of 36 years chose not to have any…he has the kid thing covered all by himself! I asked if he wanted a spare one…But Uncle Jay has not answered that one. I could lose one in his garage pretty easily though! Happy new year , Can’t wait for all the events coming up, stop by and say hello. You never know who will be at the full Throttle booth. Laurie Jo Higgins

Hi All....It's that time again to sit down and tell you about the happenings past and present. There were toy runs all through the month of December. I was at the Full Throttle Teddy Bear Run for St Josephs on Dec 17th - There were changes that had to be made in the timing but we still had a great turn out. From that run we headed over to the Rob Cartwright Memorial Concert at Sims Park in Newport Richey. What an awesome out pouring of love and compassion for the family. I don't know how much money was raised, but I can tell you there are a lot of generous people out there. The next day was the Suncoast Brotherhood Toy Run - each year that run seems to grow!! We spent the day enjoying the great weather out there with so many of you!! January is going to be a bit busy with 2 big events starting with Thunder by the Bay from Jan 6th 8th, then Gibtown runs the 13th - 15th. I have 3 birthdays I want to personally acknowledge this month - My granddaughter Shy'Asia will be 5 on Jan 18th, my brother from a different mother JR on Jan 21st and last but not least...my oldest son Mitchell on Jan 27th - Love you Mitchell!! Make your plans to come out to the Full Throttle Expo in February...it will be the 17th - 19th!! Till next month - Live Life to the Fullest and Party Your A$$ Off....Dew 42

Mr. Falk is a honorable discharge Air Force Veteran and spent 27 years in the US Postal Service. Dean is an active member of the VFW Dunedin. His friends have said, Dean makes himself available whenever a need to help presents itself, regardless of the circumstance. Dean is married 48 years to wife (Maria) with 2 grown children and lives in Pinellas County. Dean has several medical conditions that have caused some disability in his life, but is not a complainer, or wanting friends to feel sorry for him. He works through the issue and keeps on going strong. Dean started riding at age 10 on a Doodle Bug MiniBike and has had a variety of motorcycle since. His primary transportation is his 1998 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic that has 90K miles. Because of his disabilities, Dean is on a limited income and could not afford the repairs needed to his Harley. His friends knew the bike was needing lots of TLC and the Extreme Motorcycle Makeover was the perfect outreach for Dean. Dean had "NO IDEA" his friends submitted his name for the Makeover and I was able to arrange for his friends to bring him to my dealership without him having any idea what was going on. He was totally surprised when I told him he won the Extreme Motorcycle Makeover and all his friends were here to celebrate. I told Dean he needed to leave his bike with me for 2 weeks, so we could complete the Makeover. After we made an assessment of his 98" Harley, Dean & I sat down and discussed what we were going to do to his bike. My objective for the Extreme Motorcycle Makeover is to bring the selected motorcycle back to Factory Specs and build a very Safe & Dependable Motorcycle for the individual. The items we focus on are, i.e. Engine, Suspension, Brakes, Tires, Bearings, Electrical and Paint. Dean's bike needed them all and it turned out beautiful and was unveiled on August 20th at the Patriot Express Rally in Safety Harbor. Dean & Maria were very happy and excited to ride the 2016 Extreme Makeover bike. My purpose for having the Extreme Motorcycle Makeover, is to find an individual that their friends believe this individual deserve to win because of the "type of person they represent". The nominee's motorcycle must be their primary mode of transportation. Volunteer Community Service is a plus, non-paid preferrably. I like when the individual has no idea they have been nominated and their friends can surprise the person. I hope to continue the Extreme Motorcycle Makeover for a long time and give-back to all our Precision Motorsports Friends and the Biker Community that support us through out the year.

Holiday parenting Tip: Place fake presents under the t r e e with your child’s name on them. Every time they misbehave, pick up one of the fake presents and toss it into the burning fireplace. They will straighten right up. You are welcome! **************** A Baptist pastor was presenting a children’s sermon. During the sermon, he asked the children if they knew what the resurrection was. Now, asking questions during children’s sermons is crucial, but at the same time, asking children questions in front of a congregation can also be very dangerous. Having asked the children if they knew the meaning of the resurrection, Allen raised his hand. The pastor called on him and he said, “I know that if you have a resurrection that lasts more than four hours you are supposed to call the doctor.” It took over ten minutes for the congregation to settle down enough from their laughter for the worship service to be continued. **************** Johnny (age 8) comes into the house for dinner after playing outside all afternoon. His parents ask him what he did today. He says that he played baseball and then he proposed to Betty (age 7) the next door neighbor. They are going to get married. His parents think this is cute, and they don’t want to make fun of Johnny so they ask Johnny him “How are you and Betty going to pay for the expenses of being married?” He replies “Well with the $1 I get each week from you and the $1 she gets from her Mom and Dad, we should do o.k.” His father says “That’s fine, but how will you pay the extra expenses if you and Betty have a baby?” Johnny answers “Well, so far, we’ve been lucky...” **************** By the time the soldier pulled into the

little town, every hotel room was taken. “You’ve got to have a room somewhere”, he pleaded with a proprietor. “Well, I do have a double room with one occupant, but he is an Air Force guy” admitted the manager, and he might be glad to split the cost. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people in adjoining rooms have complained in the past. I’m not sure it’d be worth it to you. “ No problem.” the tired Army guy assured him, “I’ll take it.” The next morning the soldier came down to breakfasts bright-eyed and bushy tailed. “How’d you sleep?” asked the manager. “Never better”, said the soldier. The manager was impressed. “No problem with the other guy snoring all night long?” “No, I shut him up in no time”, explained the soldier. “How’d you manage that?” asked the proprietor. “Well, he was already in bed, snoring away, when I walked into the room, so I gave him a kiss on the cheek” explained the soldier. “Then, I whispered in his ear ‘Good night beautiful’, and he sat up all night watching me.” ****************

explained. “You mean measles?” she asked. “No, kneasles. It was a strange illness that only affected my knees.” The new bride had to be satisfied with this answer. As the undressing continued, her husband at last removed his underwear. “Don’t tell me,” she said. “Let me guess... Smallcox **************** A smart-arsed teenager at the back of the room raised his hand and asked. “What would happen if I came in tomorrow suffering from complete and utter sexual exhaustion?” The entire class was reduced to laughter and snickering. When silence was restored, the teacher smiled at the student, shook her head and sweetly said, “Well, I would expect you to write the exam with your other hand.” **************** A man goes into the hospital for a vasectomy. Before the procedure a very attractive nurse comes in and takes his vitals, then tells him to take all of his clothes off. When he is fully undressed she instructs him to lie down on the table. The man obeys. The nurse then takes all of her clothes off

I thought that my vasectomy would keep my wife from getting pregnant but apparently it just changes the color of the and climbs on top baby......... and has her way with him. **************** A young couple left the church and arrived at the hotel where they were spending the first night of their honeymoon. They opened the champagne and began undressing. When the bridegroom removed his socks, his new wife asked, “What’s wrong with your feet? Your toes look all mangled and weird. “I had tolio as a child,” he answered. “You mean polio?” she asked. “No, tolio . The disease only affected my toes.” When the groom took off his pants, his bride once again asked “What’s wrong with your knees? They’re all lumpy and deformed!” “As a child, I also had kneasles,” he

Upon the completion of the act the man catches his breath and asks what that was all about. The nurse informs the patient that studies have shown that before a vasectomy if the man has an ejaculation, he will be more relaxed and that the cord is easier for the surgeon to locate and sever, thereby making the surgery safer, more efficient and quicker. The nurse then wheels the patient to the operating room. While they are going down the hall the patient looks through a window to the right and sees six men in a room masturbating. Curious, the man asks,”What are they doing in there”? The nurse responds, “They’re preparing for vasectomies too, but you have Blue Cross, and they have Obama Care.”

The Rob Cartwright Memorial Music Fest happened on Sat. Dec 17th. Thousands of people showed up to Sims Park in New Port Richey to show their love and support for Rob’s Family and the Bearded Brothers band. Bands played all day starting at 11am until 8pm when the beards took the stage for probably one of the most moving and emotional sets of music I have ever seen them play. They announced they are going to continue playing as well! There are no final numbers on what was raised that day for the family but it was a lot! Every hour or so Tina Farrell came up on stage with new cash donations to the family! We also did a live auction, auction baskets, silent auction and there were shirts on sale, stickers, patches and much more. Rob Cartwright will be missed by many people. He was an amazing person. RIP Rob, we love you!
