Hello and Happy new year and welcome to 2024!!! We here at Full Throttle Magazine & Multi-Media have been excited to jump into 2024 as we have made some huge changes in the past few months and many more changes to come. We are moving forward in this “NEW WORLD” we live in, and we have gone 100% digital. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!?!?! Ok, first thing that means is we will no longer be printing a hard copy magazine. Unfortunately, the print costs have risen so much, the distribution side and just moving that weight in magazine was just growing and growing in costs. Not to mention that people have slowed down picking up the printed issues. Most people I talk to see our magazine online on our website rather than run out and try and pick up a hard copy printed issue. We are still producing a monthly magazine that will be uploaded on our website the first (1st) of every month. The cost to advertise in that magazine will be exponentially cheaper and you will also get your ad promoted on our social media pages also, SO LESS PRICE AND MORE VALUE!!!! We can also boost posts on our social media pages and our weekly email blast to reach THOUSANDS of more people than the few printed copies that sat on shelves and were not picked up. This decision was not made over night, the fact that paper has increased in price 5X in 2023 almost makes that decision for us. SOOOOOO What else are we going to do to for you, you might be asking….. Yes, we are going to become Media consultants and influencers in the industry. What does that mean????? Every Wednesday we will be filming a new video podcast with someone in the Motorcycle Industry. We will be talking to them about everything from bikes to what’s their favorite food, you never know where the conversation will go. This video podcast will also be posted as a regular podcast, and also made into segments for our socials pages to be posted on and our YouTube page. This is going to be a new video each week that has real and fresh new content. We will also be filming at events and interviewing people at events so if you see us with a camera, stop by and say hi. Do you have something you want to promote? We are here to help and are very affordable at promoting it to a very large audience. This is all new to Full Throttle and of course our readers, which is you. But we must move forward with the times, if not we will be a pager or pay

8

phone in a smart phone world. We will still be at bike nights and putting on bike shows. But we are also here to help you and your events. Do you need a banner made or flyers or an ad designed, bike show at your event, help running an event and managing it while you handle your business? That’s what we are here for! We have been hosting successful events, bike nights, poker runs and concerts for the past 27 years. We know how to make an event a success and we are here for you! We are very affordable and will do everything we can to make you and your event the best it can be. Feel free to contact us at 727-935-4875 (office) 727-919-1743 (Tony Cell) or email me at tonyc@floridafullthrottle.com So many great events are coming up that it’s hard to keep track of them all. In January you have Twinkie’s kick off the new year around the bay poker run. This is the 7th year of this great ride! We pay based on the number of hands sold so if there are a lot of bikes, the payout is huge!!!! Then you have Gibtown Bike Fest! This is always a very entertaining event held at the Showman’s Club in Gibsonton Florida. Lots of great bands, vendors and so much to see and is usually a great way to start the new year and see everyone after the holidays. Next in February is Thunder by The Bay held at the Sarasota Fairgrounds. This always has a ton of vendors and great bands, this year they have Molly Hatchet, Grand Funk Railroad and Creed Fisher on the main stage. Of Course, right after that is Bike Week in Daytona Beach from March 1st thru March 20th this year. Full Throttle hosts multiple bike shows at Bike Week so stay tuned to our posts and the magazine for everywhere we will be hosting shows in and around Daytona Beach. I personally love putting on bike shows and seeing all the cool stuff people put on their bikes. After Bike Week in March is always one of the biggest and best events of the year, Leesburg Bike Fest that happens in Downtown Leesburg and at Gator Harley-Davidson. Gator is an amazing dealership that does so many events all year long. Bikers take over this little town for a weekend and they are very welcoming to us. There are vendors down all the streets and side streets and it’s just a great time! I would also like to take this moment and thank our amazing sponsor and exclusive advertising attroney, Fran Haasch and The Fran Haasch Law Group. We will be exclusively advertising with and for them in 2024 and we are working together hand in hand to make a online cruising calendar that will be the best in the state of Florida on where to go and what to do in the biker world and beyond from Destin to Key West and everywhere in between. If you have a motorcycle related event please feel free to send it to us or upload it to our site when it becomes live. It will be on our Florida Full Throttle website at www.FloridaFullThrottle.com soon. We hope everyone had a great Christmas and your New year is amazing! If you need anything from us, again, we are here to help in any way possible, from soup to nuts, we can help with an event. Be safe, be smart, don’t drink and ride and we will see you soon!

Happy New Year’s from Diva Angels Gulf Coast!

Sarasota clean!

We have been busy elves in the last 3 months. We participated in a charity event ride for Bikers for Boobie and rode out to Arcadia for a beautiful day on the road with friends and the motorcycling community. Other events included a pool party, bonfire, a celebration of Thanksgiving with our annual friendsgiving, and our quarterly Adopt A Road cleanup to help keep

We have added other charities in the last three months to help out more people for the holiday season. Our Director became a bell ringer for the

Salvation Army one Saturday, and we collected 2 trucks loaded with donations of clothing for the Resurrection House in downtown Sarasota. We hope that we are able to give them a smile and clothing to allow them to stay warm or go out and job hunt. To finish out our 2023 season and start off 2024 we had our annual Christmas party and our New Year's Day ride. We hope to be able to expand our sisterhood and charity in 2024! In every single piece I ever published about successful people and their stories, the same theme always transcends; they broke the mold they were put in to make a living, they risked it all in pursuit of their visions and they relentlessly overcame to ultimately live the life they truly wanted. Not only this but they all surrounded themselves with people who supported them. Scott Baker and Shannon Fleischman of “Baker Act Customs” originally of “Cartel Baggers Motorcycle Shop” https://www.facebook.com/BakerActCustoms are no exception. These two passionate badass backed each other like brothers in arms. There has been ups and there has been downs but the bond has sustained all storms so far. I believe, from speaking to these two that storms will come and go but their bikes will make all the difference. With Scott’s visionary concepts and Shannon’s experience, they have delivered two wheeled powerhouses that are a testament of their uncompromising passion. When Shannon’s dad needed him the most due to health issues, Shannon took a leave of absence to support him. Shannon came back to his job and was offered less money to do the same he use to do. How rewarding can corporate mid-management be huh? That’s when Shannon, encouraged by his wife Dana, decided to build and customize bikes. “I came from nowhere. Almost everyone thought I would fail. I proved them wrong.” Shannon said proudly. Then came infamous year 2019 and that’s when Scott and Shannon united taking things to new levels. What was “Cartel Baggers Motorcycle Shop” became “Baker Act Customs”. “Scott was like a brother to me. Still is. We would finish each other’s sentences.” Shannon said.

22

That’s when Scott’s first visionary bike came up and that’s when these two rolled up their sleeves and got to work. In Shannon’s words; “A 34” layframe beast started off as a 2017 Roadglide. It rolled on a 34” metal sport wheel with matching 16” rear wheel, American suspension front end, custom made tank and frame with wings and molded in made chin spoiler by Joe Pachera, a 107 Harley engine with a cam and Trask turbo, open belt drive, a Covington horn cover, Trotta floor boards, grips, shift pegs, brake pads and seat by Mike Benitez, molded bags by Chad also the solid color painter not to mention the custom paint job by Al Lopez, top shop bags, Baddad lids, everything diamond cut lights and built by Eduardo of Baker Act Customs. A custom made all medal nacelle dirty air front and rear. This bike-build took 3 years to complete.” Scott and Shannon have zero regrets. Their bikes sell anywhere between ~$25K to ~$190K+. Their approach? In a world where it is now hard to find quality workmanship, they focus on providing clients with unparalleled personalized products and services. Shannon is hands on Shannon Fleischman and personally involved in every step of the way. In other words, artistry with engineering precision. In the realm of custom motorcycles where everyone under the sky at one point wanted fame and money through bike building, where now only a few

are still standing, Baker Act Customs stands out as a beacon of innovation and craftsmanship. From the streets of imagination to the asphalt of reality, Baker Act Customs is alive and well. At the heart of Baker Act Customs' allure is their unwavering commitment to design excellence. The motorcycles produced by this custom shop are not just means of transportation; they are rolling pieces of art. Each model is meticulously crafted, with an attention to detail that borders on obsession. Baker Act Customs motorcycles are a testament to the marriage of form and function and most importantly, brotherhood. The seamless integration of artistic flair and practical engineering results in bikes that not only catch the eye but also deliver a powerful riding experience. The roots of Baker Act Customs trace back to a small garage where Shannon and Scott, the visionary owners, began their journey. Fueled by a passion for motorcycles and a desire to redefine the conventional, they set out to create machines that echoed the spirit of freedom on two wheels. Over the years, Baker Act Customs has evolved from a grassroots operation to a symbol of avant-garde motorcycle design. The journey has been marked by experimentation, learning, and a tireless pursuit of perfection. Today, the name Baker Act Customs is synonymous with innovation, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the world of custom motorcycles. Beyond their striking appearance, Baker Act Customs motorcycles boast cutting-edge engineering that elevates the riding experience to new heights. Each bike is a harmonious blend of power, agility, precision and a reflection of their owners’ souls. Handling is where these motorcycles truly shine. The chassis and suspension systems are tuned with the expertise that comes from years of hands-on collective experience. Whether navigating city streets or carving through winding mountain roads, Baker Act Customs motorcycles provide a sense of control that is both exhilarating

and reassuring. Known for their accessibility and genuine connection with the riding community, Shannon and Scott have cultivated a brand that transcends the mere transaction of buying a motorcycle. It's about becoming part of a family that shares a love for the open road and the machines that conquer it. Speaking of community, mark your calendars. Scott Baker Sunday January 21st, 2024 from 12 to 4, the boys are throwing a party with Full Throttle Magazine. Bike and audio show, live DJ, vendors, food trucks, full bar. 751 NW 57th Street, Ft Lauderdale, Florida 33309. In the realm of custom motorcycles, Baker Act Customs motorcycles aren't just vehicles; they're an embodiment of freedom, expression, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. As Shannon, Scott and the team continue to push the envelope, one can only anticipate that the roads ahead will be filled with the distinct roar of Baker Act Customs motorcycles, leaving an indelible mark on the asphalt and in the hearts of riders. With conviction, Shannon tells me “We build bikes we don’t just sell them. Scott who I met through a mutual friend started riding with us. We became instant brothers. With the loss of my dad and of his brother, we connected. We built Scott’s original Baker Act bike. It was named that because we thought he would have had to be baker acted with the money he was spending. Dana who was my partner wanted to get out of the business from Cartel. Scott came in and we started a new way of doing business with passion and we dove into it. We traveled all over the country together to show our works of art. I couldn’t have continued my dream without Scott. The bikes we build are built with serious passion and based on customers budget. We can do simple builds to ground up builds which we have done on Scott’s Baker Act and now the extreme Baker Act 2.0” More importantly, both, Shannon and Scott will tell you, break your mold and live your life.

Arguably, the only thing better than bikes might be dogs. And if you have both, you’re a lucky individual. Many people love to take their pets along with them when they ride, and there’s an entire product line to enable riders to carry their furry friends wherever they cruise to. Bikers have made several headlines with the animal rescue organizations as of late, and there are groups of bikers who specifically work in animal rescue and welfare. They’re most well known for the groups who rescue fighting dogs and help rehabilitate these dogs for adoption. Every dog may not enjoy riding, but those that do perk up every time they hear the bike start up, and will be at the door waiting for you. Although it does require a fair amount of training with some dogs to get them to sit still, generally, if your dog takes to riding naturally, it’s just a matter of getting them the right riding equipment. What if you don’t have a dog? If you’re looking for a good dog to take with you on your next Sunday cruise, you’re in luck. Every shelter in Florida is brimming with dogs who need someone to teach them the back roads and byways. Many run adoption events geared to empty the kennels, and they’ll waive some or even all of the fees associated with the adoption during these events. It’s seriously a win-win. If you’re in Pinellas county and looking for a dog companion, you can contact Rachel Fefer and she’ll steer you in the right direction. She’s at RFefer@humanepinellas.org, and they’re currently full of great dogs who need a forever home. There are other programs here in Florida that are doing great things with dogs. The Marion County Animal Services division operates the FIDO project, which gives shelter dogs to inmates in the state prison system to train. Once they’re fully trained, these dogs are adopted out to fullyscreened owners and ensured a new lease on life.

50

There are other counties who operate programs just like the FIDO program, and they’re always looking for donations and people seeking great dogs. If you can help, or are in search of a great dog in Marion county, contact Wendy Hillyard with the FIDO program at Wendy.Hillyard@ marionfl.org. Where can you take your dog on rides? You can take your dog with you as far as he’ll sit still. Lots of establishments are both dog and bike friendly, and you can do everything from riding to the beach, to one of the Bike Nights advertised here. If your dog is cool with crowds, why not bring them along with you? Most of the beaches that allow vehicles on them also allow dogs. Davis Island has a dog beach, as do several others. The majority of the establishments that host a patio bar or food service typically host pet owners as well. If you’re not sure, just ask your server or bartender the next time you visit, they’ll give you the green light if they’re dog friendly. What do you need to carry for your K9? First and foremost, you need a carrier. This is going to ensure the safety of your dog for the duration of the ride. Even if they’ll ride on the tank for hours, it’s just not wise to allow them to go for any distance without proper gear. You wouldn’t ride that way, so they shouldn’t either. They make a ton of gear for dogs. Really, and it’s the greatest thing I’ve seen this week. Goggles, helmets, jackets. Just Google it if you’re ready for a laugh. Don’t forget a blanket, travel bowls, food and water, and waste bags. Pick up after your pet so you’re invited back. The same rules that apply in your neighborhood haunts, basically. And don’t forget, not every dog is made for riding, just like people. If they’re skittish, or if they aren’t great about not chasing cars, they probably won’t do so well on the bike. But if they seem as though they might like to ride, give it a try. There are plenty of training videos on the internet to help you get started, and with the right gear, you’ll be at the next rally with your dog.
