Happy 4th of July to everyone! Here we are in the middle of Summer and damn it’s hot!!! Be sure to stay hydrated while riding and stop often! Also be sure to pack your rain gear! Full Throttle has a lot of event going on in the month of July! First, we are doing our annual TUCK A BUCK POKER RUN. This is an adults only poker run that visits a few adult establishments around the Tampa Bay area. This year we are starting in Pinellas at 4 Play in St. Pete and ending in Tampa at the Gold Club! Second we have our annual Christmas in July Toy Run that starts at Tampa Harley-Davidson on Dale Mabry Highway and goes over to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, then over to the Tampa Tarpons Baseball game where the bikers get to ride onto the field and also get a hat, hot dog and soda at the game! This is very rewarding as the kinds that can come outside always do and they love seeing all the bikes and bikers show up at the hospital. This year J-Sizzle will be Dan & Lynne throwing out the first pitch at the game as well! Please come out and support this great ride. For more info on either of these events call Full Throttle Magazine at 727-935-4875 Bert’s Biker Jam is also coming closer and is on August 30th through September 1st and will be at the new dealership on 49th street across from Quaker Steak and Lube. This is a soft opening for them as Bert’s will be moved in on property but in the pavilion

until the dealership is finished. We have so much going on over the three-day event from car shows, to bike shows, to motorcycle police demonstrations, jeep crawls, bike give-a-ways on Friday night by Moramoto. We have a great band playing Saturday night, DROWNING POOL! Let the bodies hit the floor! We will also have the Kory Souza Ultimate 90’s bike show and on Sunday we will have the LAMA (Latin American Motorcycle Association) day with a great band Sol Caribe and Jeff Vitolo & The Quarter Mile Rebels. There is so much planned it is crazy. There is a $5 suggested donation for each day, and this is going to help the charities that Fran Haasch is always supporting like FEAST food panty and many more! This event is a benefit to help raise funds for Fren Haasch to give back to the numerous charities they support! We are looking for Sponsors and vendors currently. If Fran has ever helped you out in any way, or sponsored an event you attended or put on, please consider sponsoring this event as a give-back for all she has done for this biker community! I would like to take this time and welcome two new people to the Full Throttle family. We are growing and we need to with everything we have planned! First is Dan Sullivan. I have known Dan for probably 15 years, and we have always been friends. He helped start the Cotee River Bike Fest and ran it for 9 years. We bumped into each other and we finally got to sit and talk, and he is a biker and event promoter and salesman by trade, so he is a perfect fit for the Full Throttle Family! It’s been a long time coming and it’s finally here, welcome to the team Dan the man! I would also like to welcome Lynne to the team. She is a great addition to the full throttle team, and you will see more of her on our social media feeds and in the magazine doing food reviews and selling ads. Welcome Dan and Lynne, this is a great time to be part of the Full Throttle Team and Family! Be safe, be smart, don’t drink and ride and stay hydrated. I would like to wish my daughter Ashlynn, a happy 14th birthday (worst dad ever) forgot to put it in last month’s issue! Happy 4to of July, don’t blow off your fingers playing with fireworks! Much love to all.

While you can let the clutch out all the way, doing that will bring your speed up to about 15 mph and that's too fast to make even a 24' Uturn. Plus, the slightest movement of the throttle with the clutch fully engaged will cause the bike to straighten up and leap ahead; so, you MUST learn to use the friction zone and a little rear brake. You do this by practicing the slow race in a straight line. Once you get comfortable going straight, you can start leaning and turning.

HOW TO GET OVER YOUR FEAR OF LEANING In the past, I've written about what I call, "leanaphobia", that is, the fear of leaning a motorcycle. Recently, I did a YouTube video on the subject and that video received twenty-eight thousand views in one day. That told me I need to write more about the subject in my monthly column. By the way, I put up one or two tips a week on YouTube. If you'd like to see these tips, just go to my Ride Like a Pro YouTube channel and click the subscribe button and make sure you click the bell next to the subscribe so you'll be notified each time I come out with a new video. It's FREE. First, you should know that a motorcycle or any two-wheeled vehicle, turns by leaning. To get the motorcycle to lean, you must be going over 5 mph. You must keep power to the rear wheel by using your clutch and throttle. That means you use the friction zone, also known as slipping the clutch, to keep the power going to the rear wheel. By using the friction zone, you can regulate your speed and keep perfect control of the bike. A little pressure on the rear brake while in the friction zone, also known as "dragging the rear brake", allows even more precise control when leaning and turning at low speeds.

16

Start with big circles at 10 mph with a 40' circle. Since there's no straight part to a circle, look as far over your shoulder as possible while making that circle. In other words, when making a circle, turn your head and eyes so that you're looking behind you the entire time. Practice both to the right and to the left. As you get comfortable with a 40' circle with the bike leaning a bit, narrow down the circle and lean the bike further. If you're above 5 mph, the bike cannot fall over since there will be more force pulling you forward than gravity pulling you down. If your fear of leaning is so great that doing the above is too scary, get on a bicycle and start turning circles and leaning as far as possible. Next, start making figure 8's on the bicycle as well. Get the feel of how much force is needed to keep the bicycle in a lean. Using a bicycle to practice leaning and turning is the best way I know of to get over "leanaphobia". With your muscle memory, your fear of leaning the motorcycle should start to disappear. So, get out there and do it! Motorman www.ridelikeapro.com In the New Ride Like a Pro® video we use a wide variety of motorcycles from luxury tourers to sport bikes and everything in between. Men and women riders, whatever bike you ride, Harley-Davidson, Victory, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, or Honda, you’ll benefit from watching this video. copyright 2019 Jerry “Motorman” Palladino

Hello Full Throttle family. Hopefully, the first thing you’ll notice about me is my never-ending smile which coincides with my positive outlook! I’m a Native Floridian with most of my family members living here in Florida. I’ve written for a variety of other magazines and periodicals. I spent two years in the bar business before moving on to running the Renaissance Festival for over thirteen years when it was in Largo, Florida. I was the bottom line in all aspects of the venue, including starting new events.

40

My reputation is I am a great “fireman” - because I can identify where problems are - and I can “put out fires” by dealing with the issues and correcting them. I am happy and extremely proud to be a member of the Full Throttle team! I find their charitable work to be most impressive and truly sincere. I LOVE motorcycles, but I don’t own one . . . yet! Look for me, Luscious Lynne, at many of our events and please be sure to say Hi!

Once again Full throttle lays it down. What a month we had in June. With the Soaked and Sore Ass to New Orleans and the Wheels Of steel In Door Bike show. It just doesn't get any better. What a good time we had on Bourbon street. They let all of us bikers park our bikes right in the heart of New Orleans. People didn't know what to think about the lights and sound. The party was on like never before. For those of you that went knows what I am talking about. Thank you all so much. If you didn't make it, it was your loss. Next up was the Wheels Of Steel indoor bike show with Megan and Lakeland Harley. Such a good time. We raised a lot of money for the Early Leaning Center.

Let me tell you. Being inside all day and in the AC it just doesn't get much better. On to July. Yes, it is getting hot, but we are getting hotter. Bringing you some of the best events on the planet. Lots of new bike nights starting up. We are doing a TUCK A BUC poker run on the 12th which everyone likes along with a big Charity event with Low Life Industries. I could go on and on with everything we are doing. Just check out the calendar in the mag to stay up to date. Like always. Ride free and be safe. Well Bikers, it’s Summertime and it’s hotter than ever. This time of year, bikers are hitting the road for events all around our great country. From Laconia NH all the way to Sturgis SD. So, when you are on the road, always watch out for bikers. And remember Florida bikers, if you are traveling on your bike from state to state, be sure to bring your helmets as many states still have helmet laws. But if you are staying right here at home check out all the pages of this month’s Full Throttle Magazine. There are bike nights and events happening all 44

around the State of Florida, just point your bike in one direction and you will find a bike event somewhere. Then at the end of July it’s off to Sturgis SD and the Black Hill Rally. Again, this year Full Throttle will be at the Legendary Buffalo Chip. If you are going, then we’ll see you there. Well that’s about it from the Back Yard. Ride Safe everyone and remember. Always keep your stick on the ice. MONGO

FROM WALL STREET TO MAIN STREET@ WALL STREET RIDES, LLC: BY: MICHELLE OSBORNE mosborne@capesecurities.com Fromwallstreettomainstreet.com 727-459-4875 Invest Smart | Ride Safe “Getting the income you need from your investments…. for retirement, settlement dollars, inheritances or current investment portfolio”

This month we are going to talk about a few options that may help you derive meaningful income from your hard-earned dollars while reducing risk, as well as ways to effectively position your money and optimize your interaction with Uncle Sam. I know a lot of people that love to ride, and most of the time, riders that have successful journeys make sure they have gas in their tank, provisions in their bags, and an understanding of the roads they are about to travel down. With retirement nearing for many in our biking community, it is increasingly vital that you carefully examine your financial gas tank, investment provisions bag, and your map for the financial road ahead. This means, understanding the income level you will need, how long you may need that income to last, and what challenging tax implications you could be facing in retirement? Have you ever wondered how your investments could generate income for life? Well, there are several investment vehicles that can provide you with income for life, but you may need a vehicle that also has the opportunity to grow your principal. Many of my clients are enjoying the benefits of increased income while still retaining the opportunity for principal growth. Speaking of retirement, some of my clients have decided that they are now ready to sell their business and/ or real estate assets (rental

homes, apartment complexes, commercial buildings, etc.). We call this getting rid of the toilets, trash, and tenant obligations. In some cases, selling your real estate investment holdings could cost you as much as 35% in taxes, but I have been helping my clients with situations like this throughout my career. So, when it comes to selling your real estate or your business, contact us PRIOR TO the sale so we can explain your options and explore the possibility of never paying a dime in capital gains tax. This could help preserve your sales proceeds, remove your property management obligations, and capture an income level that may otherwise be greatly reduced. So, whether you are rolling over your retirement assets, selling your business, selling your real estate investments, or receiving a settlement from an accident, I will use my expertise and work diligently to make your principal work for you as hard for you as you worked for it. I take a helicopter approach to investing that includes every aspect of your financial house including your income, tax situation, and family legacy. With so many options out there, it is hard to determine how to get the most from your money without specialized advice. Call me, I can help.

HAPPY RIDING!

As a small child I used to see a pair of Marine Corps dress blues hanging in the closet of my home, which my father wore during his service. Through the years I thought more and more about those dress blues hanging there looking great with all of his ribbons and medals hung upon them. January of my senior year in high school I committed to my decision to join the Marine Corps. I spoke with a recruiter, did all of my enlistment paperwork and processing, and was given a date to ship off to basic training. On September 6, 1994, I shipped off to stand on the everfamous yellow footprints of Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. For 13 weeks I along with my peers went through the very extensive training required to earn the coveted Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, which is presented to all graduating Marines. Upon completing basic training I was transferred to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for job schooling. Having completed my job schooling I was transferred to Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion, Norfolk, VA where I spent the first few years of my military career. Upon completion of this duty assignment I was transferred to Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan where I worked with 3rd (SRIG) Surveillance

50

Reconnaissance Intelligence Group. My next duty assignment was US (MEPCOM) Military Enlistment Processing Command, Columbus, Ohio where I worked in the security and testing office. After completion of this enlistment contract I made the decision to transfer to the Ohio Army National Guard where I served the next 10 years as a Military Recruiter. Finally, after more than 20 years of active duty military service I retired on December 31, 2016 and moved on within the civilian sector. I am happy to say that this past year of hanging out and working with Full Throttle Magazine has been amazing. The motorcycle community in Florida has been very accepting. I enjoy attending bike nights, motorcycle events, and more with my fellow bikers that I have grown to call friends. I certainly look forward to many more adventures with each of you. If you are looking to have your story told regarding yours or your loved ones military service please submit your story to me at shawnr.fullthrottle@ gmail.com. I will attempt to share each and every one. Keep in mind this is first come first serve. Attach a short paragraph and photo of your/family member’s service.

of our bikers, and accepting our donation. Hello again, I would like to start of by thanking everyone who came out for the 22nd Annual Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run. While it may not have been the largest crowd on record, we certainly rode the farthest of any prior poker run. I can only hope that everyone had just a great a time as me on the ride? For many like myself this may have been the first time ever visiting this part of the country, seeing many sites that we have never seen before. What a truly remarkable experience. I would certainly like to extend my sincere condolences to the residents of Mexico City Beach who lost so much from Hurricane Michael. While we were did not donate millions of dollars, we as a biker community did come together and raise over $500 as a charity donation to the city. Thank you Mayor Al Cathey for personally coming out and meeting some

Now where do we go from such an awesome event? Well, we have another exciting event coming up. August 30, 31, and September 1st, we will be at the Bert and Fran Jam, located at Bert’s Barracuda Harley Davidson, on 49th Street, Clearwater. We are working on some big things as we speak so you never know what we will pull off so just hold tight and wait for the next big announcement. On another note I would like to welcome my daughter Cheyenne to Florida. She has decided to make the move from Ohio to live with me. If you see her out at the bike nights please say hello and welcome her to our awesome biker community. One final note I would like to leave you with “Life always seems to create some twists and turns, you just have to ensure that you end up on the right side of it.” ERock out!

Besides a tune up, a few last minute customizations and a good detailing, many Harley owners are flocking to their local audio specialist to upgrade their stereo system. According to Peter Jensen, owner of Soundz, Inc. located in Daytona Beach, “One of the most popular requests has been to add Apple Carplay® to 2014 to 2018 Harleys. Harley Davidson® introduced the GTS radio with Carplay® in 2019 and customers with older bikes are looking for a way to retrofit them. Unfortunately, the GTS radio will not work in the 2014 to 2016 models at all, and the 2017-2018 models require first changing out the ECM, BCM, ABS module and instrument cluster to 2019 model year equipment. These parts are about $2,000.00 alone and take about 5 hours to install and code properly; and that does not include the $1899.00 additional cost of the GTS radio. Plus, the retrofitted 2019 ABS module throws codes which could become problematic, or even affect the factory warranty. We knew we had to find a way to offer our clients a seamless GTS radio retrofit and reached out to NAV-TV for help.” After months of product development, NAV-TV® and Soundz are pleased to announce the release of the SC-GTSi head unit replacement interface for 2014 to 2018 Harley Davidson® motorcycles. The SC-GTSi, offered exclusively through Soundz, is a plug-and-play interface that allows the 2019 GTS radio with Apple Carplay® to be seamlessly installed into 2014 to 2018 motorcycles. The interface requires no control unit replacement, no coding and does not affect the factory warranty. The module is transparent to both the factory Harley Davidson® and Techno Research® diagnostic, troubleshooting and tuning computer systems. In addition, all factory functions of the radio and motorcycle are retained. The SC-GTSi is available at an MSRP of $449.99, including a plug-and-play T-harness to integrate with the factory wiring and a mounting bracket for the interface. For a complete turn-key solution, Soundz also offers a package that includes the GTS Radio with Carplay®, model specific coding for the radio, the SC-GTSi interface, T-harness and mounting bracket for $2,348.99. Soundz facility is located at 700 Ridgewood Ave #107, Holly Hill, FL 32117 which is conveniently located 9 miles south of Bruce Rossmeyer’s Harley Davidson on US HWY 1, just a few blocks south of LPGA BLVD. They are less than 2.5 miles from Historic Main Street Daytona Beach, and less than 5 miles from Daytona Beach International Speedway. They may also be contacted at 386-256-2200.
