Hello July, I am glad you are here as that means we are one month closer to fall and beautiful riding weather again because we all know mother nature does not know how to handle this summer heat! It's either hot as hell or raining in Florida this time of year! The weather is tough now so be sure you drink plenty of water and use sun screen when you are riding! On July 7th There is going to be a HUGE BIKER BASH at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino on the 5th Floor of the new Parking Garage (Winners Way) This is going to be a bike show open to the first 75 bikes, with trophies and prizes in the 10 class bike show, a poker walk with great prizes and music and food. This is going to be awesome so mark your calendars now for this huge Bike event all being MC'D by the best MC in the business RADICAL RANDY!!! The 16th Annual Soaked and Sore Ass Ride is happening this month on July 13th and it's going to be a great ride! We are starting in Port Richey at a Golden Corral so you can eat a good breakfast at your leisure and be on your way. This is an all day riding experience that ends in Savannah GA at the Days Inn about 10-15 minutes away from Historic Downtown area. We have a great deal on rooms at $55 a night and they are willing to keep the bar, restaurant and pool open late for us bikers so we can party and have a good time after riding all day. The ride costs $35 per person or $60 for a couple and you get a shirt, patch and certificate at the end of the ride in Savannah, GA. The great thing about this run is it is a 7 card poker run so you have a chance to win money, the stops are roughly 1 hour to 1:30 minutes apart so you are not riding for that long and the shirts and patches that are EARNED on this ride are only given to the people who do the run, we will never give extras away at other events or sell them to people who were not on the ride. We hope you are planning on participating in this great poker run. This will be our 16th annual so let's keep the tradition alive and get a big group on a long ride and have a great time! Please make plans for our Christmas in July toy ride on July 20th from Tampa Harley-Davidson on Dale Mabry Highway to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. We would love to have around 200 bikers show up with toys and goodies for the children in the hospital at this time. Please see the ad in this month's issue for the toys they are looking for. Remember that they don't just cater to young kids but older kids also! We hope to see you all there! I would like to thank everyone who came out or congratulated us on our 200th issue and the party we had a Quaker steak and Lube. The weather held up for us most of the day and on both days when the last band was taking the stage, the skies opened up and it poured. But let me tell you, Stormbringer (I know, funny right) rocked it in the rain and put on a great show as did Retribution on Sunday afternoon! I am very happy to have been with the magazine for quite some time as I remember the party we had for the 100th issue at Gators on the Pass in Treasure Island. I am proud to keep the tradition alive and I look forward to the day when we will be celebrating our 300th issue!!!! I would like to wish everyone with a birthday in July a happy birthday: Art Koch, Kevin Burke, Heather Cohenour, Gasbo Wayfoodle, Steve Harrold, Justin Weber, Garth Armstrong, Rhett Jones, Uncle Mike Conners, Bill Columbus, J Mack, Chopper Steve, Suellen Frank, Robin Williams, Steve's Cycles and Kris Olivera! Have a great month and happy independence day!

The Full Throttle 200th Issue party had a nice turn out for both days at Quaker Steak and Lube while the weather held up. We had a ton of great events going on all weekend. 10 people won $200 cash for our 200th issue with 5 winners on Saturday and 5 winners on Sunday. We had a bunch of great bands rockin' the stage that started with Jeff Vitolo and the Quarter Mile Rebels, Jaded and Stormbringer on Saturday and Red Sunday and Retribution on Sunday. The Live Wrestling was a huge hit as there were guys and girls flying through the air and even getting thrown onto tables and breaking them. Sunday brought about a great ride in bike show hosted by Radical Randy who was also our MC for the event. And how can we forget our Bikini Contest that happened Saturday afternoon right before the rain began. We had about 18 girls in the contest and at one point had them all in the wrestling ring. Congrats to Jenna who won the bikini /centerfold contest. 200 Issues is a very long time and that equals out to 16 and a half years. We are looking forward to being around for many more years and we want to make our 300th issue another huge party. A Special thanks to everyone who came out, all the vendors who set up and our wonderful Sponsors of the event: The Chop Shop, Merto PCS, Cycle Springs Powersports, Jaw Droppin' Customs, Doug Bishop State Farm, Quaker Steak and Lube and of course Attorney Fran M. Hi... I just sat down to tell you a little about new things going on and what’s been happening in the last month. On July 13 & 14 the Soaked and Soar A** poker run from Port Richey to Savannah will be happening!! Anne and I went on the pre-run and I can tell you if you go by the instructions you will have a great road trip looking at all cows, horses, fields and forest. There are some great places you will see on the roads you will be traveling on. We stopped for a snack along the way. Anne saw some yellow signs on the road side that advertised shrimp. We pulled up to an outdoor stand and I have to tell to you, I had to look twice because I was thinking James Brown wasn’t dead! But then I looked again and it’s not James Brown but someone who looks just like him! The man but can cook some food!! So if you are going on the run you need to just take a little side trip to go to see him at Doo Dad’s Express Seafood & More Food, 99 Kinlaw Rd. Woodbine GA. You will get a kick out of the menu there! After you make it back from all the fun, on July 20th will be Christmas in July Toy Run for St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Come out and bring a toy!! Tell next time Live life to the full and party you’re a** off DEW

Everybody knows I like swap meets and I heard a story one time that I would like to tell again. There was a Harley Davidson swap meet out west that advertised all over the country for months and months. This was way out in the country and people came from all over the country to go to it. This one great big motor home bus conversion pulled up painted orange and black and as the people got up out of the seats the seats were upholstered orange and black. The couple came to the door and saw lots of tents spread out across acres of land and parts everywhere. The man and the lady stood in the doorway surveying 44
everything and the lady turned to the man and said where are all the couples. Enough of that kind of swap meets - it is getting summer time and too hot. By 3 in the afternoon everyone is beat. Webster is still going strong. I am so lucky to be under that oak tree. When that swap meet started I asked for that spot and they said as long as I was there every month I could have it. I have been there since the beginning and hope I can continue. I don't get around to the events that often because I do not see good and can't drive at night. I hope to see some people at the events. Sorry I missed the 100th issue. Maybe I will be there for the books anniversary. See you soon Mary...

Today we say goodbye to a very close friend, our most beloved sister in the biker family, Yvonne. She was one of the few girls I knew who had rode more miles on her bike than Spyke. Up until the end, she rode like the wind, never a destination too far, never a trip too long. Yvonne, you are now free to ride as far and long as your wings will take you. She never rode faster than her angel could fly, now she's that angel the flies fast over us never needing gas, breaking down, or having to wait for others. She's an angel with wings and wheels and now rides with her eternal brothers and sisters as they ride the pans, knuckles and evos through eternity, just like someday so will we. We will see you again Yvonne, standing there beside your bike smiling and waving at us ready to show us the way when it is our time to join you. Ride high and free my friend use your wings to fly among the angels. God has chosen you to ride for us up there in the heavens while we mortals and Spyke will ride with a piece of you in our hearts during our time on earth. God Bless Yvonne. ~Mike & Spyke

Red Ryder here, Reporting from the offices of Full Throttle Magazine in beautiful Tarpon Springs! Things are buzzing here and the month of June was no exception. June 8 th & 9th was our 200th issue party at Quaker steak and lube in clearwater and dispite the rain in the afternoon what a party it was! We gave away $2,000 dollars over the course of two days $200.00 at a time! Besides the cash drawings there was also a bikini contest Saturday and a bike show on Sunday with live bands and wrestling both days. A great time was had by all! June 16 th I helped Tattooed Carol host the biker appreciation party at Venom #2. We celebrated fathers day biker style jamming with the band Southern Silk and the good folks at Venom#2 -US 19 Hudson Fl 16418 ph# 727-378-5850. This party is held the 3rd Sunday of every month and your all invited! This month we seen the introduction of the Venom Detail Girls. These young ladies were washing bikes and doing there best to heat things up even hotter than the Florida sun! Look for them at future bike events. Venom #2 also has there bike nights on Tuesdays from 7 till 11 pm with D.J. JOY. They got cold A.C. and cold beer inside and there also serving hot dogs and hamburgers to keep you well fed. While your there, check out Jacks bike, the service manager. His 01 softtail was ridden on stage by none other than the UnderTaker at W.W.E. Smackdown. In Philadelphia. If you like skulls your gonna love this bike! While Im rambling, I would like to welcome a new advertiser. Danny at Bay City Cycles on Rt 52 in Hudson. See add in this months Full Throttle. Hes a heck of a wrench and he can shoot the breeze with the best of them! Tell him Red Ryder and Roxie the wonder dog sent ya! One more thing while Im on my soap box. Remember to look over your shoulder before changing lanes. Dont trust those mirrors. Remember to ride like your invisible, meaning you should assume that the cagers Dont see you! Stay out of their blind spots and protect your lane by staying on the left side of your lane. Dont give some dummy in a car thats in a hurry the chance to try to pass you in your lane, there by forcing you off the road. Time for me to ride. See you in the wind. Red Ryder.

You would never know it by talking to him (unless you asked), but this is some of Metal Mafia’s accomplishments: TELEVISION: Sci-Fi, TNN (Hot Rod Show), Dream Machine BUILT BIKES FOR: Susan B. Komen Foundation, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Stephen and Alec Baldwin, Kim Basinger, 50 Cent, Hard Rock Café (Mexico and Tampa), Tampa Bay Lightning MOVIES: Vanishing Point, Major League, HarleyDavidson The Marlboro Man, Dream Machine MAGAZINES: NITRO (Europe), Japan (Magazine) Photos of custom car & bikes, Hot Rod, Street Rodding, Rod Action, Easy Rider, In the Wind, Biker Lifestyle, Hot Bike John is 52 with an adoring wife, Kelly (she’s his biggest supporter!) Kelly also came up with the name METAL MAFIA CUSTOMS; 26 yr. old son named John who is a firefighter; 17 yr. old daughter, Kaitlyn who wants to be a firefighter, and 13 yr. old daughter Kassidy who is a performing arts major. The reason for the move here to Bradenton is mostly because of his family! This is where the best education is in those areas of study. “It’s all about the kids…I do it all for my family.” He opened up shop in Arizona in 1980. Then moved to Orlando in 2004. John has surrounded himself with qualified, top-notch people who know their stuff. That’s what he contributes METAL MAFIA CUSTOMS success to besides being well known in the motorcycle community. He has been in business 31 years! METAL MAFIA is a fully operational custom fabrication, custom body work and paint shop with its innovative in-house facility and style that is first class in quality. Not just a paint shop. Full fab, fiberglass molds, full molding… and they don’t stop there. METAL MAFIA also has done higher end hotrods and boats (graphics and artwork). But that’s not all they do: You can go to them for INSURANCE WORK. They also sell aftermarket products. Chopper builders Pit Bull, Coast to Coast, and Exotics know who they are and that’s another reason why they moved this unique shop to the west coast. THEY ARE one of the top color matching shops in the country. They have stuff sent to them from all over the world to custom match HD paints (or any other paint). They have access to paint
54
that isn’t available to most of the market. METAL MAFIA CUSTOMS have been in nearly every magazine; also on the cover of nearly every magazine. The only ones ever to have the #1 Hot Rod in the world 2 years in a row! After learning how to ride back in July, 2012, I bought a NEW (used) 2007 Sportster. I didn't want to ride it home. I was afraid I would damage it or worse yet, get in an accident. I wasn't ready to ride in traffic. I knew I would need some practice. Luckily, I didn't have to. THEY DELIVER! I interviewed the driver, and his story is pretty interesting! JOSE MEDINA, Transportation for HARLEY-DAVIDSON serving Brandon, New Port Richey, Tampa, and Wesley Chapel has been delivering bikes and picking them up for service for 7 years. He has been with Harley-Davidson for 9 years starting in Service Department, Detail, Sales, and delivering bikes and picking them up. Better know as "Papi Chula", he has two grown children and a wife. Jose has gone all the way up to North Carolina to deliver a bike! Born in Chavez, Mexico, Papi Chula came to this country when he was 24. You can trust him because he has handled 3 bikes at once (and you know how much they cost!) and safely delivered them to HarleyDavidson. I have owned a M/C trailer sales and rental business here in St. Petersburg since 1985. I was also building, selling and renting huge B.B.Q. grills that would allow you to cook for a hundred or more people at a time. Business was slow at fi rst as with all businesses. The need for M/C trailers that people could rent rather than own was great at that time, and most of the trailers I saw around the area were nothing more than “lawn trailers” and were not suited for long trips cross country at highway speeds. I started designing trailers that would stand up to years of use and be easy for a single person to use. When Gypsy at Full Throttle ask me about advertising in their new magazine, I didn’t have much spare cash to spend on advertising and wasn’t sure about putting an ad in an untested magazine. I put an ad in Full Throttle’s fi rst edition in November of 1998 and much to my surprise, it paid off with a large increase in both sales and rentals. I have now had an ad in every issue since then. As of this date I am in the process of closing
62
the company down (at 70 years old, I need a break) and am selling the last of the trailers and large B.B.Q. grills off . Over the years of building and renting trailers and grills, I have met a lot of interesting people from all walks of life. My data base of trailer rentals has over a thousand names of satisfi ed customers most of whom have come from my ad’s in Full Throttle magazine. I would like to THANK all of you who have made this business the success that it is! At this time I have one single rail M/C trailer with a new spare tire (also a couple of extra rails and ramps) and one large (3000 sq inch cooking area) B.B.Q. grill left for sale and there are details of both on my web site at www.cycletrailerrental.com Once again, I would like to thank Paul and Tony for their help over the years...trust me...it pay’s to advertise in Full Throttle Magazine ... just check the pie graph below ... A guy goes to the supermarket and notices a very attractive woman waving at him. She says, ‘Hello.’ He’s rather taken aback because he can’t place where he knows her from. So he asks, ‘Do you know me?’ To which she replies, ‘I think you’re the father of one of my kids.’ Now his mind travels back to the only time he has ever been unfaithful to his wife. So he asks: ‘Are you the stripper from the bachelor party that I made love to on the pool table, with all my buddies watching, while your partner whipped my butt with wet celery?’ She looks into his eyes and says calmly :’No, I’m your son’s 3rd grade teacher.’
Pope Francis recently fi nished his sermon. He ended it with the Latin phrase, “Tuti Homini” - Blessed be Mankind. A Woman’s Rights Group approached the Pope the next day. They noticed that the Pope blessed all Mankind, but not Womankind. So the next day, after his sermon, the Pope concluded by saying, “Tuti Homini, et Tuti Femini” - Blessed be Mankind and Womankind. It all started at the anniversary party for Fran Haasch at Quaker State and Lube. They announced the winner of the 3 night stay in the Carolinas. We couldn’t believe they called our name! Six months later after planning and organizing the trip we decided to get married and make this our honeymoon. So on May 4, 2013 we were married at The Goodfellows clubhouse and on the 6th the trip began. We loaded everything up and drove all night, then woke up at Stone Mountain, Ga. What a beautiful site it was! Best deal in the world, $10 to get into the park and enjoy a full day of countryside beauty. Then it was off to Helen, Ga. Two nights, (Tuesday and Wednesday) for $99 at the Riverbend. Our back door was on the Chatahoochee River. We were able to go tubing. The river runs all the way through the town. We then drove through town on Tuesday to take in all the sites after being tired from driving all day. We met with the owner and staff of Chatahoochee Biker Gear. Wonderful people! They recommened a restaurant by the name of Old Bavaria. By far the best and most authentic german food around town. We rested up and got ready for a full day of events at 6:00 AM the next morning. 6:00 AM we loaded up the bike and headed north a couple of miles to tackle our first honeymoon ride. 66
#1 Six Gap. 76 mile run. To the top of the mountain to the bottom of the valley. Six Mountain ranges and six gaps across the Appalachian Trail. A lot of turns and and switch backs. It goes 3600 feet above sea level and tops out at the Chatahoochee overlook where you can see for hundreds of miles. Then we stopped at Stone Pile and dropped off a rock from Florida for the Chatahoochee princess. (It’s a legend). #2 We went further north for the legendary Guantlet. This ride is like the world’s best rollercoaster ride on a motorcycle. Totally awesome. Then we went to the world famous Dillard’s restaurant. Just go in, order your drink and get ready to be treated like royalty. Also, make sure you bring a huge appetite with you. Get ready for the best 18 course country dinner you’ve ever seen. And this was just for two people. $42, reasonably priced. After all the food we needed to ride some more. We then tackled ride #3. South of Dillard’s to Clayton, Warwomen Road. Known for it’s waterfalls, twisties and great cutbacks. It also intertwined with ride #4, Moonshiner 28 Run. From Clayton to Franklin, N.C. Totally awesome run. This is where the moonshiners used to outrun the tax people. Then it was back to Helen for phase two of our journey. We left Helen, Ga Thursday morning at 6:00 AM to go to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for our Fran Haasch getaway. This trip was totally the best! We arrived at The Legacy Lodge and checked into our cabin, which was called 100 Mile View. This cabin was loaded! Jacuzzi tub inside Jacuzzi outside on the bottom balcony, pool table, fire place, full kitch-
en completely furnished. It was an absolute honeymoon dream! In the early mornings there are clouds in the balcony. Dollywood was having their parade for the seasonal opening of the park. Complete with Dolly Parton herself! This was totally free. Then we found an awesome Italian restaurant with great prices called The Mafia House. A definite place to stop and eat while you’re in the area. We then woke up at 5 AM, loaded the trike, then we were off to ride #5, The Dragon’s Tail. Totally awesome, insane switchbacks. Adrenalin junkies dream come true. No stop lights and no cops. But be careful, there are no guard railings and the drop down is at least a good 100 feet. At the gift shop on the dragon you can pick up all your patches or pins or any other memorabilia you will want to get for this memorable ride. #6 Foot Hills Parkway. The base of the dragon. Two lanes of easy scenic road. Beautiful in the AM. #7 The Sherahola Parkway. All mountain top driving. Breath taking views. Key note – for all Harley Davidson riders, this location is 1 hour from any direction of 8 different locations of Harley Davidson. The Dragon and the Sherahola loops is 124 miles long and taked 3 hours to ride. Speed limits are between 35 – 50 mph. #8 the second half of Moonshiner 28, The Fontana Dam. Iron horse Motorcycle Lodge was closed but would be opening back up for Memorial day weekend. #9 rode to Cherokee 441 North to the top of the mountain Clingman’s Dome. 6300 feet above sea level. This is part of the Great Smokey Mountains Loop. 141 miles, 5 hours of riding. Back to the lodge for more needed rest. 480 miles of riding in just
one day. It was a Jacuzzi night and time to celebrate our honeymoon some more. Woke up in the morning and rode to Maggie Valley for the Wheels Of Time museum. Over 10,000 sq ft of Harley history. About $220 million worth of history, and that’s probably on the low side. The coolest piece on the property was a full scale spring front end twisted with a peanut tank fully functional lawnmower. #10 The Devil’s Triangle. 44 miles, 2 ½ hours, from 5000 ft above sea level down to 200 ft. And that’s only about a mile. This ride will test your best 2nd through 4th gear clutching and breaking abilities. 40 degree hair banks turns and 45 degree angles and 20 ft drops. Not for the faint hearted. Smoke coming off the tires and power sliding on corners and I was on a trike. This will definitely get your heart pumping 145 beats a minute. Note – Be careful on this ride, experienced in riders only, I am a 15 year rider. Back to the Mafia House for and Italian dinner and a night with an Elvis impersonator concert and then back to the cabin for some more Jacuzzi relaxation.

CENTRAL FLORIDA SPORTBIKE RIDERS UNITE On March 21, 2013 the CFB (Central Florida Sportbike Riders Counsel) held their 1st monthly bike night at Kiwis Pub, located at 3030 Goldenrod Road, in Winter Park Florida. Padro, founder of the Central Florida Counsel and President of the “Sinners MC“, explains the purpose of the Counsel is “to bring all riders together, no matter what patch we wear on our backs, or the color of our skin, for the common purpose of riding and networking.” Padro further explained that “the counsel, at this time, is comprised of 21 various MC, RC, Organizations and Clubs.” “Jam Pony”, President of “The Brothers MC”, stated their reason for attending the bike night was “to hook up with other brothers and sisters, to form a community bond, to support each other.” He explained ‘The Brothers’ are currently working on achieving a 501c3 tax status for their club, and supporting local area nursing homes.” BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), President, “Grumpy”, stated, “it’s important that the different ‘patches’ come together to start supporting each other. For example, I get to tell you that BACA is a 501c3, who raises funds for abused children. We help them with every step to a better future, from court costs (if any), to therapy costs (they may need), to travel money to a better life (if required).” “Grumpy” boasted of the success they’ve had with their annual run called “Roar on I-4” to help raise funds for their cause. You can check out their website at www. bacaworld.org. “AKA”, Public Relations Officer for “Hell in Heelz”, an all female riding club, stated their purpose “is to encourage other women to be independent, to break free from the abusive cycle of domestic and relationship violence”. “AKA” further stated that “the women in the club are strong, business women, who want to
74
empower other women.” “Keyless”, Public Relations Officer for “Strikers MC”, which is a ‘newer’ chapter in Florida, says “they mentor children, through education. They give back to the neighborhood kids, try to steer them in the right direction.” “Big H”, President of the Kissimmee Chapter of “FLNY”, told me “we come together, as a family, for the cause. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you wear, it’s about family.” “Big H” further commented “Look around, we don’t have a problem with bringing our kids to this, aint nobody gunna bother them.” “Diamond”, President of “Imperial Treasures RC”, told me “their cause is to help teen mothers, and abused women through fundraising.” Lana “Lamb chop” Lang, President of the Orange County Chapter of ABATE of Florida, Inc. told me of the Organizations Safety Awareness Program they have. “The intention of the program is to spread the word about how to share the roads with motorcycles with the nonriding public. To try to save the lives of motorcyclists”. Lana went on to say “that the Orange County Chapter of ABATE is growing everyday, but, we need more members in our area to help support our cause.” More information about ABATE of Florida, Inc. can be found on their website at www.abateflorida.com. As the night went on, and the various style of bikes rolled in, so did the different clubs, organizations and patch holders. I stood back to observe the growing crowd of nearly 250, interact, shake hands, give hugs, exchange information and enjoy each others company. As one representative of one of the 1%‘s present, told me, “it’s about breaking the sterotype of rival clubs, and teaching, by example, this ‘next generation’ of riders,
how to lead and become a positive influence within their communities.” I want to give thanks to everyone who took a few minutes to share with me, their stories. I am proud of this group of “next generation” riders and of “this generation” of mentors, who recognize an importance to hand down a sense of brotherhood. I want to make mention of the rest of the riders who were a part of this 1st monthly bike night. If I forgot anybody, totally unintentional, there were so many, I may not have seen you ride in or had a chance to talk with you.
Hawg Ridin Fools Black Pistons No Remose Brothers 4 Life After Math Riders 4 Star Hooligans Restless Souls Cobras One Fist Riders Street Kingz I spoke with Butch, Owner of Kiwis Pub and asked him why he has a “ALL COLORS WELCOME” policy. Everyone has been treated with respect, and in return, everyone has shown me and my bar the courtesy.” The CFB will be holding their monthly bike night every 3rd Thursday of each month, at Kiwis Pub, located at 3030 Goldenrod Road, Winter Park, Florida.
