Well, here we are in the summertime in Florida and all we can say is HOT, HOT, HOT and MUGGY! But you gotta love it! We have a 12 month riding season and some states still have snow! I am really looking forward to Summer this year as we have some great events that Florida Full Throttle will be part of. If you want more info on what we are doing and where we are at you can always look at our cruisin' calendar both in this magazine and online. We also post tons of pictures and great things we find on our Facebook page every day! Please go like our page at facebook.com/FLFTmag May was a busy month for us here at Full Throttle Magazine. The first weekend in June we had Plant City Bike Fest, The Quaker Steak and Lube customer appreciation party and our annual Tucka-buck poker run. These were all great events with a lot of people at each one! The next weekend we had the Full Throttle 5 bridge poker run, Mutt's Motorcycles Music and More, Mad beach Bike Fest and the Bike Day at the Threshers baseball game! Then we had the Memorial Day Biker Bash at Quail Hollow and that had a great turn out! People were in the pool and Soul Circus Cowboys were rockin' the stage all day! We would like to thank everyone who came out to all these great events! On June 13th we will be hosting our annual SOAKED AND SORE ASS POKER RUN. This year we are going to Panama City Beach and starting in Palm Harbor. This is a 300+ mile poker run one way with 7 card stops along the way. Registration is $35 for a single rider or $60 for a couple. Everyone who buys a poker hand will get a patch, t-shirt and completion certificate at the end of the run! You must complete the run to get all the goodies, it's kind of a rite of passage. Most people who go on the sore ass runs talk about them all year long. We completely booked our first hotel so now we have rooms available at a second hotel (Days Inn, see ad for phone number and address) our stops this year are: Palm Harbor, Homosassa, Chiefland, Perry, Panacea, Apalachicola, and Panama City Beach. Our end party will be at Sharkey's Restaurant in Panama City Beach. This is the first time we have duplicated the same ride on the sore ass. We did this same ride a few years back and everyone loved it. If you are going on the ride, don't forget the time change after Apalachicola!!! They are an hour behind us so the last stop and awards party is in Central Time. If you have an event, or would like your business seen by the motorcycle community in the state of Florida, Full Throttle is your one stop shop for all your advertising needs. We can design and ad for you, place it in our magazine, promote it on our facebook page (over 102,000 likes and GROWING), we can print you flyers and banners for your event, hand them out at events we are set up at, emcee your event, help book band, put on biker games, host a bike show and so much more. EVERYWHERE EDDY here and the summer riding season is in high gear! I’ve been to some great local events recently and want to thank those of you who have come up to me with such positive feedback on my page! I’m enjoying seeing so many of my riding friends in attendance and making lot’s of new friends wherever I go! Right now I’m in the midst of planning a summer trip away from Florida and looks like I will be heading back out to Sturgis for the 75th Anniversary Rally! worksBrewing INSTAGRAM: @MotorworksBrewing In search of the perfect building to house a craft brewery, Denise and Frank Tschida (pronounced Cheetah, like the big cat!) looked in several major cities across Florida. They couldn’t believe it when they discovered the huge 1923 Brick and Concrete Block building for sale on 9th Street West in Bradenton. With Racing and the love of “Go-Fast” in their roots, it was even more ironic to discover the huge concrete ramp that was used when the building housed a Chevrolet and Hudson Car Dealership in the late 40’s – 50’s. (Note the antique photo of Miss Palmetto and a Hudson Auto taken in the very building that now houses Motorworks Brewing!) “Some things in life are meant to be”, said Denise, “and this property was a special find”. Thus MOTORWORKS BREWING had found its home in Florida. Just 3 blocks from the center of downtown Bradenton and McKechnie Field, Spring Training home of the Pittsburg Pirates, their 2-acre site is perfect for large groups, and events. The outdoor beer garden, alone, is 12,000 sq ft with Oak Trees over 200 years old. The Tschida’s put in two regulation Bocce Ball Courts (Italian Lawn Bowling), a dozen Cornhole sets, and a true professional 3-hole Putting Green with the putters and balls to go with it. Motorcycle Parking is no problem, said Denise, as we purposefully poured 85 feet of concrete parking in front of our beer garden for bikers and exotic car owners to see their rides while they relax outdoors. In addition, we have our main parking lot adjacent to the front door, another lot behind the corner building, and two more across the street from the Taproom/Bar. Enough about the building, it’s all about the beer! It is no wonder why one of their first beer medals was for their “V Twin”,

a Vienna Lager. Great name and a great beer – just ask around at the Great American Beer Festival in Colorado, the largest beer festival/ competition in the world, where they took home a medal out of 5,553 total entries. Speaking of medals, Motorworks Brewing is rockin’ ... they’ve won 8 medals in National Beer Competitions (GABF, BEER US OPEN, Draft Magazine) as well as State Beer Medals in their first year of brewing. And on the day of this interview, they won a bronze medal in a national competition for their Beer Can Design on their Indy IPA coming out in stores within 3 weeks. Beer Production is in full swing at Motorworks Brewing. I took the tour of their amazing 27,000 sq foot two-story brewing, fermenting, and canning areas for $10 that including a pint of beer or beverage for the walk-about. Note the incredibly tall 45-foot, 2,000 bushel Grain Silo, yes, inside city limits! Their boiler is over 5,000 pounds with BTU’s too great to count. The 4” water lines ensure all operations of the brewery carry-on simultaneously. The brewers are seasoned veterans with decades of brewing experience under their belts. Some of the brewers also love to ride. In fact one of their brewers, Jose Martinez, road from San Diego to Bradenton over the course of 3 days when he was invited to join the Motorworks Brewing Team. Motorworks beers are put through a reverse osmosis system, which allows them to create water profiles for each individual beer. With over 40+ styles of beer under their belt, their head brewer, Bob Haa, has created a beer for literally everyone. If you are feeling adventurous, try the 3rd Coast Oyster Stout or the 2 Stroke Double IPA (both on tap now). If you are looking for something a little less hoppy or less dark, try their Cruiser Kolsch-style or their award winning V Twin Lager, both of which are perfect for lounging in the Beer Garden after a hot ride. No matter what kind of mood you are in Motorworks has 30 beers on tap, and they are sure to find you the perfect fit. If beer isn’t your thing, that’s okay. Denise does hope that everyone that comes into Motorworks will sample at least one beer. “You never know”, she said, “you just might find a beer you love”. But if they can’t find a beer to please your palate Motorworks also offers a full wine and liquor bar. It is uncommon for a Brewery’s Taproom to offer liquor but Denise wanted to be inclusive not exclusive.

When you get there enjoy a craft beer on the deck under the 200 year old oak tree, or try your hand at cornhole or bocce ball.
