June is finally here and so is the heat! Be sure when you are out riding in the heat of summer you always have a few items packed with you. First you want to be sure to have plenty of sunscreen and reapply after riding for a little while! No one likes to have a sunburn and when we are usually riding is the hottest times of the day 12noon till 3pm. You also want to make sure you have rain gear packed in your bags and maybe a dry shirt. I usually get a 1-gallon zip lock bag with a hand towel, dry shirt and wherever else you need while out for a day trip. Third and most important, be sure to drink lots of water! If you have an adult beverage, mix it up with a water in between as you will get dehydrated very quickly. Be safe while riding and keep your head on a swivel. Watch out for the cars and non-Florida drivers as they are less familiar with the roads than we are! This past year we lost way too many great people to motorcycle accidents. Be safe and be smart! June 15th is our annual Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run! We are starting at Circle S BBQ in Hudson and riding up to Panama City Beach. We have done this ride before and it is a great ride up US 19 then across the Panhandle on US 98. This is a seven-card poker run and you get a t-shirt, patch and certificate at the end of the run. The great party about the run is you don’t get everything until you complete the ride at the end. So, if you see someone with a Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run t-shirt, thy did that ride all the way! Everyone always seems to make new friends on this ride also so it brings the community together in many ways, visiting new places you may haven never been before and making new friends. This year we have added a second day, second leg to the Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run. A Lot of people wanted to go to New Orleans, So the

8

day after the ride (Sunday June 16th) we will be doing a second sore ass ride to New Orleans Harley-Davidson. This will be a poker run also with seven stops along the way and cash prizes at the end! If you are up for it come ride with us one our first ever two-day poker run. If you have any questions, please call us at 727-935-4875. The Next Big event happening in this area is the Bert’s Biker Jam! This is going to be a huge 3-day event at the new Bert’s Barracuda Harley Dealership on 49th Street across from Quaker Steak and Lube. Bert’s moves into this new dealership in August as well so this will be the first official event. There will be so much going on from stunt shows, a Kory Souza Bike Show, Live music all three days, car shows, bomber girls and so much more! We are working on vendors and sponsors for this event right now! This is also an event to help the charities that Fran Haasch is always sponsoring. If you are interested please call us at 727-935-4875 or email me at tonyc@floridafullthrottle.com Full Throttle will also be back at Quaker Steak and Lube Wednesday night bike nights on the second Wednesday of every month. We sat down with Bill Church, put our past behind us and decide it was a great decision for us to be back for the biker community and for our great sponsors and advertisers like Attorney Fran Haasch and Bert’s Barracuda Harley-Davidson. We are very excited to be back at this great bike night! We hope to see you all there! Finally, we are gearing up for the Florida Motorcycle Expo in February 5th – 9th 2020. I know that sounds like it’s far away, but we are working on some very big bands this year and will be releasing all the information in August. There is more info to come, so stay tuned! One thing I will announce is that we will be increasing the prize fund for the Bike Builder Invitational from $20,000 to $30,000 in cash and prizes!!!! $10,000 for best in show ALONE!!!! And our 5 classes will be Bagger, Custom, Metric, Chopper, Bobber/café. If you are a builder and would like to submit a bike please email me pictures at tonyc@floridafullthrottle.com I would like to say happy birthday to my brother Paul, Love ya bro and Happy Father’s day to all the fathers out there including my dad, grandfather and brother (all of which named Paul) be safe, be smart don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon!

A funny thing happened last week just as my Ride Like a Pro advanced class was ending and I was about to start picking up cones. A rider pulls into the parking lot, rides up to me and asks, "is this the class to get your motorcycle license?" This happens quite a bit. I tell him, this is the Ride Like a Pro advanced class. Once you get your license, you come to me to really learn how to ride. He replies, "oh, I know how to ride, I've been riding for 25 years, I just never got my endorsement." The guy appeared to be in his mid-50's and was riding a late model Harley Ultra. I said, "you've been riding for 25 years without a license?" He says, "yeah, but I got a ticket and now I want to get my license before I go to court." I then explained to him that he had to take the M.S.F. beginner course to get his license. What?!, he screams. "Can't I just take a test rather than waste three days of my time?" He then repeats, "I've been riding for 25 years, I know what I'm doing, I know how to ride." That's all the opening I needed. I decided to have some fun with him. I said, "do you think you could pass a test? I just so happen to have the course set up right here. Since you're so experienced, it should be very easy for you." He says, "I'm sure I could pass any test, I've been riding since I was a kid, what do I have to do?" As it happens, we were right at the entrance to the intersection exercise. The intersection consists of four legs at 24' wide X 36' long, set up like an iron cross. I said, "you just have to ride through this exercise, make three U-turns, one in each leg and then pull out and come to a complete stop; and, you have to do it in 35 seconds. I'll have my wife run

16

through it for you. By the way, the average rider in my class runs the exercise in 30 seconds." I then have my wife line up to run through the exercise. I take out my stopwatch, count 1, 2, 3, go! Donna takes off, whipping through the exercise with such ease, it looks easy. All the while, I'm watching this guy's face. His eyes are wide open and he appears a little pale. As my wife comes to a stop, I hit the watch and yell, 21 seconds flat. Not too bad I say to the guy and ask if he's ready to give it a try. All of a sudden, he doesn't look so "experienced" and says, "I have to do it in 35 seconds to pass?" Yes, and if you hit a cone or put a foot down, it's an error and I add a second for each error. He decides to give it a try. As he pulls up to the start, I can see his hands are shaking. I tell him to relax, you know how to ride, right? He nods unconvincingly. Ready, 1, 2, 3, go! He takes off real slow towards the first right turn doing his best to keep the bike as straight up as possible. This causes him to put a foot down as he makes the right turn, so I yell, "one error!" He then attempts the U-turn the same way and hits a cone on the far side, then duck-walks the bike backwards, then forward in order to make the U-turn. I yell, "time's up!" He's now shaking his head with disgust and appears to be quite angry. I said, "what happened, did you get lost?" I tell him to try again but this time just follow my wife so he knows where to go. He says, "no, I've got to go". I said, "come on, one more try, just follow Donna." Reluctantly, he lines up behind my wife's Ultra and I count, 1, 2, 3, go! My wife takes off and for a second, he just watches her whip through the first U-turn. He then takes off and pulls right out of the parking lot, never to be seen again. Now, some of you may be saying that was cruel. But if you were there and could see this guy's 'know it all' attitude as I did, you would be laughing your butt off as he tore out of the parking lot, just as I was. Moral of the story, get some training folks! Motorman www.ridelikeapro.com 866-868-7433

Hey y'all, looks like summer has arrived again. The Cereal for the Summer event was a huge success. I would like to thank everyone who came out to support the kids, bringing cereal to bike night. Use a calendar so you don’t miss out on all the rides and bike nights going on in the month of June. The last week of this month will be crazy busy and of course it's always a great time. Ever wonder why bikers wave to one another? My son Daniel just start riding. He is the proud owner of a Harley bought at Bert's Barracuda during the Full Throttle expo. Daniel and I were riding the other day I asked him when we stopped, why he was not waving. “Mom, no one waves back.” So, I decided to look up where the wave came from and the history behind it. The origin of the wave

40

was speculated to have started in 1904 when Arthur Davidson and William Harley passed each other and waved. I really don’t know if I believe all of that myself, but it does sound good. So, I started asking around to other biker friends. I was told it is a sign of respect, that it signals the other riders to keep the rub side down. As I read more, no matter where I looked, it was a sense of community. All I know is it's the reason that I always wave, and I always will. I think of it to tell other riders that, yeah, we lift each other up and want what is best for the other riders. I feel the wave brings a smile to everyone’s face, not just the riders, but the cars that are looking out for us. Just as I’ve chosen to let go of the safety of four wheels, a seatbelt, and airbags, so have all bikers on the road, enjoying in the freedom of two wheels in the wind together. Looking for your business to have a bike night? Contact Full Throttle Magazine. We have all kinds of different ways to help your business. Ride safe.

It has done went and happened. It got hot and there are grass clippings on the road. LOL, that means only one thing. Summer is here. Which means they will be a lot of bikes on the roads especially in the evenings when it cools off. So just take an extra second and look twice for bikes. June is really looking up to be a big month with our return to Quaker Steak and Lube on Wicked Weds the second Wed of each month. We have so much planned. Tons of bike nights and weekend events. Be sure to check out the cruising calendar and the magazine for dates and times. What an incredible month May was. The highlight for me was the Jasmine Cain album release 7 over at the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona. She blew the place apart. What a

good time. We also did our cereal drive for Feeding Tampa Bay. What a heart touching event. Once again, we showed everyone what a big heart biker have. Bringing Cereal out to the bike nights. We raised all most 900 boxes. Tony went live on the air with channel 10 news to express our appreciation to the community for doing such a great job. We also did our 5-bridge poker run with the Wing Houses. Making it the biggest one we ever done. Thank you so much for coming out. The weather and sky way were so beautiful that day. Would you like to host your very own bike night or even run an AD with Full throttle? Contact me!!!!! I will personally come out and show you what we have to offer. Welcome to the Back Yard. It’s Soaked and Sore Ass Run time again and this year we are doing the ultimate run. June 15th, Day One, we ride from Hudson to Panama City Beach. We have some new stops along with so stops and a few places that has always supported or run. The ride up US 19 and on to US 98 will be a special ride. Then we will ride on to Tyndall Air Force Base where we will blow the horn on our bikes to let the service men and women know we love them and thank them all for their service. Then onto PCB. After an overnight stay we leave from PCB headed to my home state of Louisiana. We will be going to the Big Easy New

44

Orleans and Bourbon Street. Let the Good times roll. We will be riding along the coast with stops in Fort Walton Beach, Mobile Al, Biloxi MS, Slidell and Mandeville LA. Then we will cross the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway into New Orleans and end on the world-famous Bourbon Street. Just remember to bring your helmets Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana are all helmet law states. So, at Florida state line there is a rest area you can pull into to put them on. FROM WALL STREET TO MAIN STREET WALL STREET RIDES Invest Smart | Ride Safe Michelle Osborne www.fromwallstreettomainstreet.com mosborne@capesecurities.com Office: 754-MONEYAM /754-666-3926 Cell 727-459-4875 Office 727-290-2762 With summer approaching and people starting to think about their travel plans, it is also a good time to look at your financial road ahead. With any good trip, you always want to navigate the road, check the tires, fill up the gas tank and plan your trip. As bikers, we are good about planning the provisions we need for any trip and looking at what is needed for a successful journey. We consider the weather, the gear we need and any extra provisions for the trip. The same thing applies to your financial trip in life. We can become complacent about putting our financial house in order. The markets just seem to keep moving upward or staying steady. With all the economic numbers looking good, analysts are predicting smooth sailing in the financial markets. The numbers include extremely low unemployment, good job growth, good corporate earnings, low gas prices and minimal overseas turmoil. Markets love predictability. The potholes in the road however can sometimes throw us off balance and send us in the wrong direction, such as the length of retirement income we need, retiring without looking at our options, capital gains taxes or estate planning. Other speedbumps not considered, may be the sale of any real asset, health situations, remarriage, grandchildren, or protecting our family. Often, we put our investments on cruise mode, either in a target date fund, or just pick the equity funds when that seem to be going up. We let our monies or investments just ride the economic wave. Afterall, if it’s not broke don’t fix it… Right??? Sometimes what you don’t know “can hurt you”. The most common thing

I see, is people letting their investments ride and not being informed of what those investments consist of or the consequences of those investments. For example, there are funds out there specific to the year of retirement and are invested to retire most people during that specific year by navigating markets, such as 2025 fund. They are called Target Date Funds and are used in a lot of retirement accounts. These are very popular, so are the no-name funds like A, B, C and D funds. A lot of government employees have these funds. That doesn’t tell anyone about the investments inside the fund. In a lot of situations, you can utilize 401k rules that allow you to take your retirement now and invest it in an IRA that may be more suitable for your situation. You can do this at the age of 59 ½, still work at that job and continue to contribute to that plan. It is called an “in-service distribution”. Knowledge and timing are important. Just think if 2008 had been the year you planned to retire, the Standard and Poor’s 500 index was down 57% that year. Now you are facing a possible 57% loss in your retirement account at retirement. Looking at the ups and the downs of the markets with a financial review are critical. No one has a crystal ball, but you can have someone like me, with many years of experience show you where your money is invested, how it can impact your future and what can be done to potentially improve outcome. When you are on your trip toward a financial destination, it is important to seek sound advice. Give me a call. I can help you navigate your financial road.

HAPPY RIDING!

Besides a tune up, a few last minute customizations and a good detailing, many Harley owners are flocking to their local audio specialist to upgrade their stereo system. According to Peter Jensen, owner of Soundz, Inc. located in Daytona Beach, “One of the most popular requests has been to add Apple Carplay® to 2014 to 2018 Harleys. Harley Davidson® introduced the GTS radio with Carplay® in 2019 and customers with older bikes are looking for a way to retrofit them. Unfortunately, the GTS radio will not work in the 2014 to 2016 models at all, and the 2017-2018 models require first changing out the ECM, BCM, ABS module and instrument cluster to 2019 model year equipment. These parts are about $2,000.00 alone and take about 5 hours to install and code properly; and that does not include the $1899.00 additional cost of the GTS radio. Plus, the retrofitted 2019 ABS module throws codes which could become problematic, or even affect the factory warranty. We knew we had to find a way to offer our clients a seamless GTS radio retrofit and reached out to NAV-TV for help.” After months of product development, NAV-TV® and Soundz are pleased to announce the release of the SC-GTSi head unit replacement interface for 2014 to 2018 Harley Davidson® motorcycles. The SC-GTSi, offered exclusively through Soundz, is a plug-and-play interface that allows the 2019 GTS radio with Apple Carplay® to be seamlessly installed into 2014 to 2018 motorcycles. The interface requires no control unit replacement, no coding and does not affect the factory warranty. The module is transparent to both the factory Harley Davidson® and Techno Research® diagnostic, troubleshooting and tuning computer systems. In addition, all factory functions of the radio and motorcycle are retained. The SC-GTSi is available at an MSRP of $449.99, including a plug-and-play T-harness to integrate with the factory wiring and a mounting bracket for the interface. For a complete turn-key solution, Soundz also offers a package that includes the GTS Radio with Carplay®, model specific coding for the radio, the SC-GTSi interface, T-harness and mounting bracket for $2,348.99. Soundz facility is located at 700 Ridgewood Ave #107, Holly Hill, FL 32117 which is conveniently located 9 miles south of Bruce Rossmeyer’s Harley Davidson on US HWY 1, just a few blocks south of LPGA BLVD. They are less than 2.5 miles from Historic Main Street Daytona Beach, and less than 5 miles from Daytona Beach International Speedway. They may also be contacted at 386-256-2200.
