Here we are and Summer is upon us! School is out and the heat index and humidity keeps rising. Be careful out there while riding and be sure to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated. I have seen too many people fall out because they forget to drink water on the super-hot days. There are a lot of great rides coming up as this is always a great time to ride. Be safe and be smart out there and always remember if you need an attorney, 866-LAW FRAN or LAWFRAN.COM is your first call weather it’s a motorcycle or car accident! June 12th is the ever popular SOAKED AND SORE ASS POKER RUN! This year we are starting at Kickin Wingz in Hudson and ending at Savannah GA HarleyDavidson. This is going to be an amazing ride and I think we will see record numbers of riders this year. We have more riders pre-registered than I have ever seen before and tons of others telling me they are still coming. The ride starts at Kickin Wingz and the second stop is Gator Harley-Davidson in Leesburg. The next stop is Main Street Station in Daytona Beach, the next stop is Bar None Saloon in St. Augustine. Our 5th stop will be Tiki Island Tap House in Jacksonville, 6th Stop is Golden Isle Harley-Davidson in Brunswick Ga and then on to the end stop at Savannah Harley-Davidson where there will be a party with bands, biker games, food trucks and much more! The best part about this ride is you EARN a t-shirt, patch and certificate at the end stop. No one else will be able to get these shirts unless they have been on the ride. We will offer any extras to everyone on the ride if we have any left but after that we destroy the extra

8

shirts and patches. We have been doing this ride for a long time as this is our 24th annual. We look forward to meeting everyone who is going on this amazing ride! I would like to thank everyone who participated in both the cereal for Summer program we were collecting cereal for and everyone who also entered the Charity Golf Classic in May. Both were raising money and or food for great charities. The Golf Tournament raised money for the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and the Cereal went to Feeding Tampa Bay. We ended up raising about 1000 boxes of cereal which is our biggest donation to them yet! Special Thanks to everyone who donated like Moramoto, Rider Now Magazine, Attorney Fran Haasch, Moto-Tow, Quaker Steak and Lube. They say 1 in 4 children go hungry over the summer as they don’t get the free breakfast and lunch that the schools offer. This is horrible and should never happen, that’s why we do what we do for Feeding Tampa Bay! I would like to wish my Grandfather “Pops” my dad “Paul” and bother “Paulie” an incredibly special Happy Father’s Day, Much Love to you all! I would also like to wish youngest daughter, Ashlynn a very special happy 16th Birthday! Remember, Full Throttle Magazine is here to help you and your events be successful. Well, in the blink of an eye, May became one of the most pivotal periods of my life. In a few weeks I am leaving the little island that has been my home since I was 26. I'm from Vermont so the laid back lifestyle of not locking doors (I don't even have keys anymore) letting my son fish all night on the piers up the street has to sadly end. I'll be the car holding the surfboard out my window driving to the beach now. I've spent half my life on Anna Maria. I'm sad that others found my utopia and drove the prices up but I'm going to embrace the change as I hurry to find a place. Wish me luck as 14

I figure out my next adventure. I will miss all of my friends, neighbors and the community in general. don't worry guys, I'm coming back for beach parking ! And I really want to thank The Fran Haasch law group for supporting a group of guys who spend their Sundays waving signs for motorcycle awareness at bad intersections. Thank you for the traffic cones and megaphones they help. :”West coast biker guardian angels” on facebook, it's our sign waving group. Come join us. See you from a new zip code , Peace and love to the biker world, Laurie Jo

The Gulf Coast Diva Angels are getting out to ride more and looking for good deeds to do in the community now that the weather is fine and the world is opening back to normal. We have cleaned our roadway twice so far this year through KEEP SARASOTA COUNTY BEAUTIFUL. Diva Serena arranged a bike show and party for the seniors at an assisted living residence. Many seniors came out to talk to the bikers, check out

the bikes even sit on them! Fun, food, balloons, motorcycles, bikers & seniors. The Divas celebrated being lady riders by participating in the Lady’s Empowerment Ride and also rode for the 2021 International Female Ride Day. To cool off the Diva Angels can also ride the waves as well as the roadways! Ride em Divas! “Like” us on our facebook page for meeting, ride, and other event details at https://www.facebook.com/divaangelsgulfcoast or email gcdivaangels@gmail.com for more information. Dad gave me some of the best memories on his 1976 Kawasaki KZ 900 riding all day long in the country during the weekends. We did not have to say much at all. It was a silent understanding and bond. He also taught me to play pool, bowl, skate, paint, the love of reading, poetry, bicycle, arts in general… He was a calm man…for the most part. I marveled at my dad’s KZ 900. Like many boys at that age back then I was looking at my dad with his bike as if he was a superhero. A superhero he was not. Neither was he a bad man or evil. Took about 45 years for me to understand the man and have some compassion for him. Truth shall set you free they say. I can tell you that is true. Truth helps you understand the past. Our past does not excuse some of our behavior. It helps explain it so we can correct it. When we come to an understanding, we can have more compassion for others and ourselves. Truth opens the gates of understanding which then opens the door to forgiveness and healing for a better future. When you reach that point of understanding and compassion for others or even for yourself, life gets a lot better. Men nowadays and in general, are vilified, mocked and, made to feel completely inadequate, unworthy, or frankly just dumb. The good news is hate hurts the hater more than the hated. You can put that one in the bank! Beware when you hear negative blanket statements on men (or women) out there. A lot of us men are caring and loving fathers. I am speaking of the fathers that provide for their families. The ones who take time for their significant others, for their children and in the communities doing charity work. The ones who pursue personal growth because they know and are humble enough to have faith in the wisdom to seek help. I’m also speaking about the fathers who have made huge mistakes but have enough kahunas to own that. The fathers who make relentless efforts to correct behaviors without blame-shifting to justifying anything. The fathers who are silent but steady and strong in the face of mockery, gossip, slander, or narcissistic hate. The fathers who too

20

have been victims but who don’t care to stay victims. The fathers who loved with all they had in them and who only have time to move forward. I salute those men! I salute you all fathers who keep fathering regardless of any adversities! As the eldest in the family, dad lived in poverty. He had to help provide for a family of nine. He was robbed of his childhood. It was that or starvation. He lacked a lot of basic needs a child should have been given. He messed up big time. More than once. He was greatly misunderstood by his own blood because no one cared to know or face the truth and truly help him. His illness was met with hostility and mockery at times. He was a creative sentimental, romantic idealist and a dreamer who ended-up diagnosed with manic-depression. He eventually shot himself in the head. I am at peace with him and with all contributing “elements” to his demise. My point is, love your dad. Love him. Regardless. Understand his truth. Learn about him. It will make life a bit better for both you and him. Not without challenges but still. When your bike makes strange noise what do you do? You find the truth so you can better deal with it. Same with humans. When you see unusual behavior, don’t crucify and judge too quick. I love my dad and miss him dearly today. I wish I could give him a big hug. I would probably give him a good punch as well but heck, it would be with a whole lot of understanding. I wish he was here to see my kids and my bikes. Can you hear me through the written word pleading “Go love and hug your dad even if all you will get is a grumpy old man!”? Do it while you still can! www.FloridaNightTrain.com

Auburndale was founded in 1880 by some northern folks seeking a warm winter refuge. Since then, the citrus groves and ranching have been the mainstay of the local economy. You’ll enjoy the quiet country backroads while rolling past the multitude of lakes in this area. We doubt you’ll find a road with more curves per mile than Lake Lowery Road.
