Bike Week is finally here! Daytona Beach will be crawling with hundreds of thousands of bikes this month all looking to do one thing, hang out and have a good time, not to mention get away from the cold weather up north! There are so many great places to see while in Daytona so be smart, ride safe, ride responsibly and for heaven's sake, have a good time! Full Throttle will be set up at three different locations around the event this year. First we will be at the Coke Pavilion at Destination Daytona, second, we will be at Main Street Station on Main Street, and third, we will be at Dirty Harry's all 10 days of Bike Week. Stop by and say hi. Full Throttle is personally hosting THREE major bike shows while at Bike Week this year. Our first show is Thursday March 12th at the Coke Pavilion at Destination Daytona Harley-Davidson. This is a 10 class ride in bike show and is only $10 to enter with only $5 to enter additional classes after that. We have some great trophies and special prizes from Amsoil and J&P cycles for all the winners also. Last year we had over 100 entries in this show and it was a great turnout. Our second show will be Friday March 13th at the Daytona Beach Boardwalk for the BOARDWALK BIKE SHOW. This is a multi class bike show with tons of great trophies and $500 for best in show! This show has had almost 200 entries for Bike Week before and we hope to see this again with bikes lined up all the way from the pier to the hotels down the Boardwalk. Our third show is a new one we will be hosting. It is called BAGGERS ON THE BOARDWALK and will be held on the Daytona Beach Boardwalk on Saturday March 14th. This is a baggers only show and we are expecting a huge turnout. We have $500 for best in show and $500 for Judges choice as well as two speaker systems from Rockford Fosgate and tons of other great prizes from Godfather Baggers and Attorney Fran Haasch our great sponsors. While at Bike Week, remember to start making your plans for Leesburg Bike Fest April 24th - 26th. This is a great event where the bikers take over the small town of Leesburg, FL. They have 3 headliner bands this year with Lita Ford, Puddle of Mudd and The Marshall Tucker Band. Leesburg is a great party with an estimated 250,000 bikers in attendance, 85 concerts, 5 hot body contests, 250 vendors and so much more. Why Synthetic Oil & Why AMSOIL?

We recently sat down with Tom Brown to discuss a favorite topic for motorcycle owners – the oil for their bikes. Tom has been an AMSOIL Dealer for almost 10 years and he is one of the only AMSOIL Dealers in the country to hold both the Certified Lubrication Specialist and the Certified Filtration Specialist designations from the lubrication industry. Before AMSOIL, Tom spent 25 years as an Army Officer, where he was responsible for the maintenance of millions of dollars of equipment. FFT-Q1: Why should Full Throttle readers use synthetic oil in their motorcycles? TB-A1: Motorcycle oil, like automotive oil, performs 3 main functions: (1) reduce friction; (2) clean; and (3) cool. Modern motorcycle engines, especially air-cooled models, produce high horsepower and high levels of heat as well. Under this heat and stress, conventional oils break down quickly and cause wear and leave behind varnish and sludge, requiring frequent oil changes. With synthetic oil, the engine runs cooler and more efficiently; the clutch engages smoother; and the transmission shifts easier and quieter. In addition, synthetic oils usually last longer, thereby reducing the frequency of oil changes. FFT-Q2: Can Full Throttle readers benefit from using synthetic oil in their other vehicles? TB-A2: Absolutely Yes! The same benefits discussed above about motorcycles apply directly to all types of automobiles, trucks, lawn equipment, boats, farm and construction equipment, etc. Many FT readers have had to replace an automatic transmission, and this can cost thousands of dollars. Most transmission 38

failures are caused by transmission fluid that breaks down over time, leading to major damage. Using synthetic fluid could prevent most of these failures and save owners time and money. My friend Phil Serletic passed away on February 2nd 2015. I had known Phil for about 15 years from going on rides, seeing him at events and working with him at Full Throttle. This month I had the pleasure of interviewing the owners of 18 ON THE ROCKS, Patrick Adani and Douglas Thompson (who also owns BULLSEYE INDOOR PISTOL RANGE in Palmetto). Patrick is French originally from Corsica. They both were managers of Shell’s Seafood Restaurant (Doug managed Holmes Beach and Anna Maria Island and Patrick managed St. Pete Beach). They became good friends working for the same company in 1997. Patrick and Doug were planning all along to one day open their own restaurant, so thus was born:

At ¬18 IN THE ROCKS, you can get steaks, THE BEST SEAFOOD – (ALWAYS FRESH!), or a simple bar menu. We have a late-night menu, a kids menu, salads, desserts…we try to be as accommodating as possible! We do catering and festivals (Taste of Manatee, Taste of Indian Rocks Beach, etc.). What makes you different than most restaurants? We have a different type venue…we have a Tiki bar, a full service dining room with a fireplace, a stage for bands, a dance floor, and even a liquor store! There’s also plenty of parking and close to Clearwater and St. Pete Beach too. Patrick chimed up with “US”. WE make it different! We have a lot to offer anyone! We are not trying to offer any certain niche. Whether it be a tourist OR a local, to a kid, to a guy wanting a 6 pack of beer, WE HAVE IT ALL! What made you think of the name? We tossed around a couple names. Then all of a sudden it came to us that we were on Indian Rocks Beach and there was a mile-marker outside that said 18. Do you have bike nights? We don’t, BUT WE WOULD LOVE TO! We like what Quaker Steak and Lube and Applebee’s has done, and we would like to offer something HERE or in Palmetto maybe on a Monday or Tuesday night.
