LEESBuRg BIKE FEST RECAP on THE CovER QuAIL HALLoW BIKER BASH AnD MEMoRIAL DAY PooL PARTY SunDAY MAY 24TH
April was a great month! I have ridden more this month than I have all year so far! Tonya and I actually had the chance to participate in a few rides this month and I was even able to even ride to Leesburg Bike Fest! The weather has been great with a lot of sun during the day and nice cool temps at night. Let's hope the rest of Summer here in Florida will be the same way..... I know, I am dreaming! Leesburg Bike Fest was the busiest I have ever seen it! The streets were packed and bikes were parking everywhere! It seemed a little cooler than it did in the years past, but talking to the paramedics, they were still as busy as ever helping people who couldn't handle the heat this year. I have to say that Leesburg does an amazing job with their event. They plan a lot of great events to keep everyone busy, the stages had amazing bands all weekend long and the headliners were pretty good this year! Lita Ford on Friday Night, Puddle of Mudd on Saturday night and The Marshall Tucker Band on Sunday. Full Throttle was there set up in our normal spot in front of the Library on Main street and we saw a lot of old and new friends! Thank everyone who stopped by and said hello! LEESBURG BIKE FEST ROCKS!!!!!! Full Throttle has some great events coming up in the month of May. First is our Tuck A Buck Poker Run on May 9th. This is an adults only poker run that goes to 5 different adult establishments in Pinellas and Pasco. We are starting at Mile High on 66th Street (The Old Bare Assets South) then stopping at Oz, Silks on 19, Bare Assets North and ending at Mile High in Holiday (The Old Emperors) The ride is $10 a hand or three hands for $20. There is a $500 grand prize for the best hand and cash prizes for 2nd best, 3rd best and worst hands. Our second poker run in May is our annual 5 Bridge Poker Run. This ride goes over the 5 major bridges that connect the Tampa Bay Area; Courtney Campbell, Bayside, Howard Franklin, Gandy and the Skyway. We are starting at Hogan's Beach and ending at Pub 41 in Palmetto. In June we have our annual Soaked and Sore Ass Ride, this year we are going to Panama City Beach! This is a long and fun ride so book your rooms now!!! We hope to see you all out there on your bikes this month. Remember you can always find us every Wednesday night at Quaker Steak and Lube right next to the Attorney Fran Haasch Booth. Full Throttle has been asked to help host a similar event like our Expo we have every year in January at Quaker steak and Lube, and do a similar event like it at the Columbus Ohio Quaker Steak and Lube location (8500 Lyra Dr, Columbus, OH 43240) as well. So we will be putting on the Ohio Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational August 14th - 16th. We are looking for vendors, sponsors and custom bike builders who would like to enter their bike in the Invitational. If you are interested please contact us at 727-935-4875 or go to www.OhioMotorcycleExpo.com for more information on how you can get involved. Full Throttle was also asked to put on two bike shows in Sturgis this year for the big 75th Anniversary at the Buffalo Chip Campgrounds. Our bike shows will be Sunday August 2nd and Monday August 3rd at the Legandary Buffalo Chip in front of the Jager Stage. Sunday we are doing an 10 class open show for all bikes and Monday we will be doing a 10 class Harley Only show! For more info watch our facebook page www.facebook.com/FLFTmag I would like to take this time and wish all of the mothers out there a Happy Mother's Day. I would like to wish my own mom, Mary Cianci, my step mom Tracy Cianci, my mother-in-law Monta Eastman, and my beautiful wife Tonya Cianci a special Happy Mother's Day, Love you ladies!!! Have a great month of May everyone, I love and hate May, it's my birthday month on the 4th and it's always when the love bugs start to come out...yuck! Get ready to wash your bikes! Be safe, be smart, don't drink and ride and I'll see you soon!

Hi, I am Lady Diana and I just joined the Full Throttle Magazine Team as a Sales Representative. I moved from Louisville, KY back in the 80’s and now live in Tampa. My brother always had motorcycles and would take me for rides when he was home On leave from the Navy. That gave me a huge desire to be a part of a motorcycle community. Recently I went on a Poker Run for abused children headed by the Predator Patrol organization. There must have been at least 96 motorcycles and what a wide variety of people from many Walks of life. The ride went thru areas of Brooksville that I had No idea existed. That’s what the people who organize these charity/ poker runs do, they Introduce you to new people and a beautiful countryside you would never have known . So, I’m sure it wouldn’t surprise you to know, I’m currently looking to purchase a Motorcycle. My goal is to open eyes and ears to more people about the Motorcycle Community. Riders be safe and drivers PLEASE watch out for us. People Stop Texting while driving. When you see me at the events, please don’t hestitate to say hello. If there are questions you May have about advertising in our magazine, let me know and I’ll get you answers. Thank you and God Speed, Diana Louden 813.300.1221 dianaloudennewtion@yahoo.com or ladydifullthrottle@gmail. com

Ride Smart Florida Promotes “Drink + Ride = Lose” May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month The“Look Twice, Save a Life” messages have been out there for years, and yet, 462 motorcyclists lost their lives in Florida as a result of traffic crashes in 2013. For the families of those 462 motorcyclists, 2013 was a tragic year. As riders, we have to stop placing the majority of blame on motorists and take responsibility for our own riding. In 2013, motorcycle riders were at fault in 62% of motorcycle crashes in Florida that resulted in severe injury or fatality.
Motorcyclist at fault in 62% of crashes
Riding a motorcycle isn’t easy, so if a motorcycle rider’s balance, judgment or coordination is diminished by any alcohol-a ride can end in tragedy. You’re not only putting yourself at risk on the road-you’re risking the lives of other drivers. As we remind motorists to share the road with motorcycles this month (and every month), Ride Smart Florida would like to also remind riders that the consequences of drunk riding are serious and real. Here’s just a sample of what you may have to lose:
Your LIFE • Your BIKE • Your MONEY Your DRIVER’S LICENSE • Your PRIDE Your FREEDOM
DRINK + RIDE
In 2012, there were 2,030 motorcycle riders killed nationwide in single-vehicle crashes. Of those, 43 percent were impaired at the time of the crash-64 percent were impaired when the crashes occurred on weekend nights.

This must have been the busiest Leesburg Bike fests so far! People were everywhere! I would like to first congratulate everyone who was involved in making this such a huge event. This takes hundreds of people, volunteers, police, paramedics, firefighters and probably the entire city of Leesburg to make an event of this size happen. Every year it seems to get bigger and better. Full Throttle was set up in front of the Library on Main street where we have been the past 4 years. We also camped this year at the ABATE campground and had a good time! Leesburg is so different than other events as the city allows you to drink a beer while walking on the street as long as it is in a cup. There are around 4 - 5 stages with a huge stage in the middle of town that all the major bands play on at night. All the businesses seem to cater to the bikers over this weekend and the cops are only there to make sure you don't act like an idiot, which happens to the best of us at times. I had a long discussion with a police officer and they love having the bikers come to town, they are not looking to write tickets and yell at bikers on main street for revving their bikes. That is awesome as Daytona seems to love to write tickets and give bikers a hard time. This is becoming one of my favorite events of the year as people come to Lessburg from all over the state of Florida and it has a down home Florida feeling. If you have never been here for bike fest you are missing out! Make your plans for next year and come find us on Main Street in front of the Library and remember...... LEESBURG BIKE FEST ROCKS!!!!! Hi All there is so much to talk about this past month!! Lets start off with the first Tuesday of the month - 'The New take over Tuesday Bike Night' at the Mile High Gentlemen’s Club & Sports Bar in Holiday. The club closes off the parking lot, moves tables outside with a DJ playing music and they have a grill fired up cooking hamburgers and hot dogs. You can wander in and out of the club with your drinks enjoying the outdoors and the entertainment inside as well. The club welcomes us with open arms and they are hoping to make it a Tuesday you will want to come back to each month. Then that weekend there was Jim’s Harley Davidson Birthday Bash with live music, great food and I met a new vendor that was set up there - Connie’s Creations - with some very nice handmade jewelry and things. The next weekend Full Throttle hosted the grand opening & ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Indian Motorcycle of St. Pete. The show room is so nice - you really need to go and check it out. Make sure you say 'Hi' to the GM Nate and his team of sales people let them know we suggested the visit!! Well, I have to go now and pack for Leesburg Bikefest - Full Throttle will be set up in front of the library and we will be camping at the Eagles on Haywood Worm Farm Road. Make sure to stop by!! I will tell you all about it next month - till then 'Live life to the fullest and party your a$$ off!' Dew

Greetings bikers. Well, summer is here and the weather is heating up and so are we here at Full Throttle. April was a busy month with Nature Coast Bike Fest, Leesburg Bike fest and Thunder Beach Bike fest. One of my favorite events to emcee is in April every year, The Special Olympics Pinellas Poker Run. Again this year we thank Quaker Steak and Lube for hosting the event again. The weather was perfect and we had good number of bikes that rode the poker run. The Olympians had a great time working all the stops and then returned to Quaker for live music with 10,000 PAPERCUTS donating their time again this year. The Florida Special Olympics will be held in May at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in

Orlando. We also raised the money to send one of the Olympians to Los Angeles for the Special Olympics World Games. In 2016 the event will again be held in April at Quaker Steak and Lube. Stay tuned to Florida Full Throttle for dates and time. Also, we are now taking reservations for the Ohio Bike Builder Invitational and Expo in Columbus Ohio to be held August 14 to 16th. Find all the information in Florida Full Throttle and make your plans to attend this great event. See you next month here in the Back Yard and remember keep your stick on the ice. Charlie

Motorcycle rider pulls into a diner in upstate N.Y. Seats himself and asks the waitress for 2 headlites and 2 wheels. The waitress who had just worked all night wasn’t in a good mood said what are you talking about? The rider already tired ,but happy to relax at the diner said” Just tell the cook he’ll know what I mean but the expression 2 headlights and 2 wheels. By this time the waitress is pissed and yells back at the old cook, “I got this weird one out here who thinks you’ll know what he wants if he orders 2 headlites and 2 wheels”. Yeah I know what he wants, Yells the cook, He wants 2 eggs sunny side up and 2 pancakes. No problem . Well this just pisses off the waitress even more than before. SO, just be the breakfast is served to the rider, she walks up with a big plate of chili beans and slams them down on the table. “Here” she yells for all to hear, “ here’s you chili! But, the rider who didn’t order the chili answers back What is this for? The waitress is ready for this yells back” I thought you would want to gas up before you took off ” *************************************

She cautioned me to make sure it was on tight and secure. I apparently still looked confused. So, she looked all around the store to see if it was empty. It was empty. ‘Just a minute,’ she said, and walked to the door, and locked it. Taking my hand, she led me into the back room, unbuttoned her blouse and removed it. She unhooked her bra and laid it aside. ‘Do these excite you?’ She asked.
On the farm lived a chicken an a horse, both of whom loved to play together. One day the two were playing when the horse fell into a bog and began to sink. Scared for his life, the horse whinnied for the chicken to go get the farmer for help! Off the chicken ran, back to the farm. Arriving at the farm, he searched and searched for the farmer, but to no avail, for the farmer had gone to town with the only tractor. Running around, the chicken s pied the farmer’s new Harley. Finding the keys in the ignition, the chicken sped off with a length of rope hoping he still had time to save his friend’s life. After tying the other end to the rear bumper of the farmer’s bike, the chicken then drove slowly forward and, with the aid of the powerful bike, rescued the horse! Happy and proud, the chicken rode the Harley back to the farmhouse, and the farmer was none the wiser when he returned. The friendship between the two animals was cemented: Best Buddies, Best Pals. A few weeks later, the chicken fell into a mud pit, and soon, he too, began to sink and cried out to the horse to save his life! The horse thought a moment, walked over, and straddled the large puddle. Looking underneath, he told the chicken to grab his hangy-down thingy and he would then lift him out of the pit. The chicken got a good grip, and the horse pulled him up and out, saving his life. The moral of the story? (yep, you betcha, there is a moral!) “When You’re Hung Like A Horse, You Don’t Need A Harley To Pick Up Chicks”

Then she starts unzipping a longer zipper that runs down the front of her wet suit and she says to him, “And how long has it been since you’ve had some real fun?” And the man replies, “Wow! Don’t tell me that you’ve got a motorcycle in there!” **************************************** A duded-up city rider walks into a seedy tavern in Sturgis, SD. He sits at the bar and notices a grizzled old biker with his arms folded, staring blankly at a full bowl of chili. After fi fteen minutes of just sitting there staring at it, the newby rider bravely asks the old biker, ‘If you ain’t gonna eat that, mind if I do?’ The old veteran of a thousand rides slowly turns his head toward the young pup and says, ‘Nah, you go ahead.’ Eagerly, the guy wearing the shiny new leather fashions reaches over and slides the bowl into his place and starts spooning it in with delight. He gets nearly down to the bottom of the bowl and notices a dead mouse in the chilli. The sight was very shocking and he immediately barfed up the chili back into the bowl.
I said, ‘I sure did,’ and held up my thumb to show her.
The old biker quietly says, ‘Yep, that’s as far as I got, too.’
She fainted.”

A biker came home from the road, sat down in his favorite chair, turned on the TV, and said to his wife, “Quick, bring me a beer before it starts.”
A man is stranded on a desert island, all alone for ten years. One day, he sees a speck in the horizon. He thinks to himself, “It’s not a ship.” The speck gets a little closer and he thinks, “It’s not a boat.” The speck gets even closer and he thinks, “It’s not a raft.” Then, out of the surf comes this gorgeous blonde woman, wearing a wet suit and scuba gear. She comes up to the guy and says, “How long has it been since you’ve had a cigarette?” “Ten years!”, he says.
She looked a little confused, but brought him a beer. When he fi nished it, he said, “Quick, bring me another beer. It’s gonna start.” This time she looked a little pissed, but brought him a beer. When it was gone, he said, “Quick, another beer, it’s gonna start any second.” “That’s it!” She blows her top, “You bastard! You waltz in here, fl op your fat ass down, don’t even say hello to me and then expect me to run around like your slave. Don’t you realize that I cook and clean and wash and iron all day long?” The biker sighed. “Oh shit, it’s started.

This month I had the pleasure of interviewing the owner of KORY SOUZA ORIGINALS, KORY SOUZA! 5720 Lawton Drive Sarasota, FL 33580 941-735-5771 or 941-993-1812 E-mail: Info@KorySouza.com www.Facebook.com/KSouzaOriginals Although you wouldn’t know it just by talking to him (he is modest), but KORY SOUZA SHOULD BE VERY PROUD of what he has accomplished in his 34 years. Here’s the story… Kory is only 34, but don’t think for a moment that he’s not experienced having been working on motorcycles (customizing) the past 15 of those 34 years! Opened busi-
ness when? March, 2014 FACEBOOK: www.Facebook.com/KSouzaOriginals INSTAGRAM: KORYSOUZAORIGINALS Best way to reach you? Phone: (941) 993-1812 or Email: Info@KorySouza.com Have you been in any other magazines? Yes! Super Street Bike, Two-Wheel Tuner, Urban Bagger, American Bagger, Bling Rockets, and Hot Bike. Kory has been on DISCOVERY CHANNEL with Dave Perewitz also! What made you interested in motorcycles? I’ve always been mechanically inclined. I started working for Dave Perewitz in Bridgewater, MA when I was 21 years old. I was the shipping guy for a short time and slowly learning more (everything from sweeping floors and rolling up posters at bike events to wrenching on bikes) and gaining more responsibility. Eventually, I worked my way up and became Dave Perewitz’s right hand man building custom bikes for the next 9 years! We travelled the countryside and rode our way on the bikes we built! Have you done any work for “famous” people? When I was working for Dave Perewitz, we built bikes for Chicago Bears Football player, Ruben Brown; Steven Tyler, Aerosmith; Brad Whitfield, Aerosmith; Hulk Hogan, NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and many more! What do you offer? Service work, oil and tire changes, big wheel baggers, anything you need, it’s a one-stop shop – Whether it be custom painting to fabrication, there ain’t nothing KORY SOUZA won’t take on! For instance, Kory is taking a Suzuki M109 and putting a Harley-Davidson Road Glide fairing on because that’s what the customer wants. Who inspires you the most? David Perewitz…he was very hard on me, but that was a good thing. I attribute a lot of what I know about motorcycles to his teachings (how to build bikes, what to look for, and what NOT to do, attention to detail, etc.). Tell me about your family? Kory is originally from Norton, Massachusetts (about 35 miles south of Boston), and has four brothers. His Mom and Dad instilled a “work hard ethic” into their boys. His brother (Jason) currently works for Dave Perewitz, but Kory is enticing Jason to move down here and be part of KORY SOUZA ORIGINALS! What makes you different from most shops? If you want a bike that stands alone in a crowd of motorcycles…if you want a custom bike that no one else has…cutting edge…then this is the shop that you want to go to! We are fair on our prices and don’t take advantage of our customers. Kory really cares about his customers and wants to be sure you’re happy with your ride. Kory treats you like he would like to be treated…fair, honest, and when you come to his shop, you’re treated like family. (PS: Your bike may even have been worked on by Kory himself because many local shops drop parts and even complete bikes to be fixed at KORY SOUZA ORIGINALS). Who are the other employees? Kory and Courtney (Kory’s girlfriend). Roy also helps in the shop, assisting Kory and learning the business.
52
Tell me about your background in building? I worked at Perewitz Cycle Fab for 9 years, then Robert Fisher (Roaring Toyz) called me and offered me a job in his shop to help him move into the V-Twin side of the motorcycle world. I worked there for the next 3 years. In past years, Kory traveled to custom bike shows all across the US 42 weeks out of the year! What are your future plans? Stay small, keep overhead low so we can pass the savings along to our customers and continue to put out great products and amazing bikes. We are currently developing a line of custom parts and distributing them to other builders, dealers and consumers. Do you sell after-market products? Yes. Besides my own line of parts, I have a contract with pretty much all of the wheel companies for Harleys; I sell DRAG Specialties, Biker’s Choice, Tucker Rocky, Western Power sports, HHI, Arlen Ness, Battistini… I have accounts with everybody (almost). Describe yourself in 3 words? Hard-working, dedicated, people pleaser (I like to make people happy and DON’T like it when people are Unhappy with me – I take my work home with me all the time!). Three things you love? My girlfriend Courtney, Motorcycles, Family and Friends… and I LOVE to laugh. (Also, our 3 Chihuahuas and our mini pig, Biscuit – who you can sometimes find hanging out at the shop!) Three things you dislike? I hate seeing people being taken advantage of. I truly dislike it when somebody comes along, opens up a shop and undercuts everybody in the motorcycle business, then closes up, and leaves the rest of us to deal with it. I hate arguing. What is your greatest achievement? When I stepped out (on my own without any help) and opened KORY SOUZA ORIGINALS. What are your biggest regrets? That I didn’t do this sooner (opening KORY SOUZA ORIGINALS). What is the future of the motorcycle industry? I think baggers still have some time left – and I think metric cruisers being made into a baggers is becoming popular. The FXR’s and Softail Baggers will be the next big thing. Who is your painter? Ryan Hathaway (You are a GREAT painter, Ryan! from LUCY’S owner!) What is the craziest bike you’ve ever built? My chopper. People say it looks like a praying mantis. It’s been in three magazines. WILD TURKEY LIQUOR used it for years as their display bike at motorcycle rallies. It was the very first bike I built on my own. I still own it and it is the first thing you see when you walk into the showroom at my shop. Courtney says I can’t ever sell it, but I would part with it for the right amount. What is the most common mistake most new builders make? They come on the scene and want to get their bikes out too quickly, not paying any attention to details, and under-cutting everybody. Especially Air-Ride bikes…they don’t put any fail-safe’s into the construction. At Kory Souza Originals, we RIDE our bikes. We’ve actually heard of builders out there who make the customer sign a waiver saying the customer will not ride the bike. What is the point of that? What are you currently building? Six 26” Baggers, Four 30” Baggers, Softail conversion into Bagger, 2012 Hayabusa Full Custom Build, 2014 Turbo Charged Street Glide, a complete custom bike for Courtney, and a full ground-up custom bagger for myself. My personal bike will be featured in American Bagger/Urban Bagger Magazines, where they will follow the entire build as I explain all of the steps we take when building a complete frame-up custom bagger. It’s going to be a pretty cool series of articles. Anything else you’d like to say? In the next two months, you are going to see a lot of bikes coming out of KORY SOUZA ORIGINALS. But in the meantime, why don’t you come on down and check this place out! KORY SOUZA ORIGINALS has quarterly Open Houses – the next Open House is scheduled for May. Like their Facebook page for updates! LUCY is MY RIDE. She started out as a 2007 stock Harley Sportster 883cc. My idea was to rev her up more 1250cc with VANCE & HINES pipes, make her MORE purple, get a bigger gas tank, and put a fairing on Lucy…Of course, I took her to KORY! Here are some before and after shots of LUCY! *Special mention: Kory, Manatee Auto & Marine Upholstery (Matt & Chris 941-201-8115), Artwork (David Lee), Gulf Coast Auto Painting (Joe Kuchera 941-321-3757), Ryan Hathaway, Barbara (Dead Cat Chaps 321-298-7865). Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge Memorial Ride The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge is a grueling and unforgiving endurance ride which provides participants with an opportunity to test their fortitude and then translate newfound strength and confidence into a willingness to act on behalf of others. The Challenge demands that individuals be willing to strive valiantly without allowing the fear of failure to discourage them from this objective. In 2015, Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge organizers will honor the riders who have died believing in the ideals set forth by this great event in 2010. In their memory, we will be holding a special event which begins with a group ride that starts in Lebanon, Kansas on the morning of July 31, 2015 and concludes in Hot Springs, SD that evening. Then, on the afternoon of August 1st, we will parade down Main St. Sturgis together and end with a party worthy of our fallen riders at the
Indian Motorcycle Sturgis store (2016 Lazelle St. Sturgis, SD 605-206-7830)! All are welcome to participate! This special event is open free of charge to everyone (you don’t need to be a Hoka Hey Challenger to participate) nor is it restricted to only American made motorcycles. Registration is required so please register now and join us as we pay respect to those with the courage to live and die for what they believe in. The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge will break riders down into their true essence and make them in to the person they were already meant to be. The 2015 Memorial Ride is intended to honor those strong souls who spent themselves in this worthy cause. Their souls were neither cold nor timid—their desire to be a part of something larger than themselves has left a legacy, which we can never describe in words, but we can honor in our deeds. Hoka Hey! Please visit www.hokaheychallenge.com to register.
