As you can clearly see, I am supporting a whole new look! A Few Weeks ago, on the Full Throttle Vision Live Web show we do every Friday at 12noon, Dan and I decided to shave our faces, and Dan’s head to help raise money for a great place, The FEAST Food Pantry in Palm Harbor. We ended up raising about $900 when it was all over. Special thank you to Christine Cianci who came in and gave us our haircuts. I shaved my beard that I had been growing for the past 7-8 years. I feel like a whole new person, and everyone says I look younger, so that works for me!!! I was happy to do a great thing for an amazing place in this time of need. I like this new look; I might just keep it for a while. We are still planning our Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run to Islamorada in the Florida Keys on June 13th! This is a prefect time for a well needed long ride to a beautiful location. How many people missed out on vacations or trips they had already planned? Well start planning on this ride! It is over 300 miles, one way, with 7 stops along the way. You will get three poker hands with your registration at the beginning at Quaker steak and Lube. We will be paying the 1st, 2nd, 3rd best hands and the worst hand. At the end stop is where you will get your t-shirt, patch and completion certificate. This year we will have pre-registration online as it is always a long line at the beginning.

8

We will have separate tables at Quaker for those who need to register and those who have pre-registered. After talking with all the hotels in the Keys as well, they told me the cheapest way to book your rooms would be though any online provider like hotels.com or Travelocity. com. They give better rates than they could give me over the phone. We are planning on our end stop being Hog Heaven on Islamorada. They can not confirm at press time as they are still not opened yet due to the virus scare. But we have talked to them and they are aware and willing to be the end stop. You can pre-register for the run at this website https://full-throttle-multimedia-inc.square.site/ you can choose a single rider ($40) or a double rider ($70) Double riders will both get 3 hands each for a total of 6 poker hands for the run. In this crazy time, I must take a second and thank everyone who bought a business card size ad, or any ad for that matter, saying they support Full Throttle. This really blew my mind that so many people jumped right up to do this and help support this magazine in its time of need. There was a point when I was paying for things with change to make ends meet. It is scary when something like this happens, but when a community and friends step up and do what they did for us, it is very humbling. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You all have no idea how much that raised my spirits and helped me through this tough time. Full Throttle will prevail through this! I turn 40 this month – May 4th. I would also like to wish everyone a special happy birthday who are celebrating in May. We are looking forward to life, or new life as we know it returning to normal. I cannot wait for bike nights and poker runs and events to happen again to see everyone and feel normal again. Be safe, be smart, don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon!

Motorman’s Road Test of the 2020 Triumph Bobber Black Motorman’s Road Test of the 2020 Triumph Bobber Black If you are a subscriber to my Ride Like a Pro YouTube Channel, you’re aware that in addition to hundreds of riding tips videos I post there, I’ve also done quite a few motorcycle road test reviews over the past few weeks. (To subscribe to my YouTube Channel, go to YouTube, type in Ride Like a Pro Jerry Palladino and click subscribe). One of the standout bikes I really enjoyed riding is the Triumph Bobber S. In case you are not familiar with a bobber style motorcycle, a bobber is sort of a minimalist bike with everything you need, and nothing you do not. At least that was the point post WWII when veterans began buying up Triumph and HarleyDavidson army surplus bikes and cutting down (bobbing) the fenders to save weight. They had also cut the ends of the handlebars off to make the rider lean forward into the wind for a bit more top end speed. The bobber craze started again about 15 years ago as the chopper craze started to fade. Bike builders started making bobbers using new frames and assorted S&S motors. Most of those bikes like the choppers were unrefined, unreliable, ill handling, and miserable to ride. Enter the factory custom bobber craze that started about seven or eight years ago. Harley made and still does manufacture several such bikes starting with the Street Bob Dyna through to the present Softtails and several Sportster model, bobber style bikes. Now all the main manufacturers have gotten into the act. Triumph made their first bobber style bike in 2017. In my humble opinion, they did the most authentic styled bobber on the market. The model I rode is the 2020 Bobber Black. Upgraded over the standard model with dual disks up front and a wider 16” front tire with 47mm cartridge forks from Showa. Of course, everything on the bike is blacked out from the levers to the two into two exhaust. By the way, the exhaust is plenty throaty. In 2017, the Triumph Bobber turned out to be Triumph’s biggest selling bike of all time. So, it only made sense to offer an upgraded version for just 1,200.00 bucks more. The bike has a 1200cc parallel twin that puts out 77hp and 78 lb.-ft at 4000 rpms. This is one smooth motor with plenty of power to move this relatively light (524 lb.) bike. With its 59” wheelbase and 25.8-degree rake, this is an extremely nimble bike both at low and higher speeds. The ride is on the firm side as it should be for this type of bike, though it never bottomed out. Keep in mind, the Bobber is a solo ride with no accommodations for a passenger. I found the old-world styled tractor seat to be quite comfortable. While this bike may well be the most authentic styled Bobber made, do not think it is not filled with all the latest modern technology. It has road and rain riding modes, switchable traction control torque assist, clutch, ABS, and an immobilizer. All this is hidden from view so as not to upset the classic look of this bike. The riding position is upright with a slight lean forward to the bars. With a low 27” seat height even shorter riders will have no problem reaching the ground. This bike is not about long-distance touring, however, with the right accessories it would be more than capable. With the Bobber, it is all about screaming through traffic and tearing around your favorite winding road. On my Motorman’s fun to ride meter which goes from 1 to 10, this bike pegs the fun meter. In addition, a beautiful motorcycle from any angle. With an MSRP of $13,150.00, its affordable. Special thanks to Tampa Triumph for loaning me this bike for the road test. 7000 N. Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa FL 33614. 813-410-7913 Till next month, Motorman www.ridelikeapro.com

Hello from the Diva Angels Nature Coast Chapter, with members from Citrus, Hernando and Marion counties. So far, 2019/2020 have been busy, and we were blessed with multiple opportunities of fundraising activities for our charities , volunteering in our local communities, and of course, indulging our passion for riding and promoting sisterhood and safety with female riders. We were pleased to see our chapter is growing, and Nature Coast came in second place during the Diva Angel National 2019 Mileage challenge with over 25,000 miles ridden. Our Citrus and Hernando counties’ Senior Voice monthly newspaper prompted our awareness, explained our mission and our service to the community with a photo on the cover and featured article of the Nature Coast Chapter. We volunteered most of 2019 monthly to Brooksville Bike Rallies, assisting with vendor parking, and selling 50/50 raffle tickets where the money collected is going to support the local charities of Covenant Children’s Home in Dunnellon, Female Veterans Network of Citrus County Fl, and K9 Partners for Patriots in Brooksville. We created and donated a big beautiful wine and treats/ goodies basket for the Female Veterans Network group to raffle off at one of their fundraising events, along with collecting and donated new and used purses and backpacks filled with basic hygiene and essentials and distributed locally to homeless and struggling women . We also donated a sizable check to the Female Veterans Network Group from

our fundraising efforts. It was such an honor and a pleasure to assist and add to our sponsored charities this group of amazing women veterans who served our country spanning from WW2 to present. We presented another donation and spent a nice afternoon visiting at the Covenant Children’s Home , a Christian based home for children who suffer from neglect, abuse and home situations where parental drug , alcohol addiction and crime are prevalent. The staff at Covent Children’s create a loving and supportive ,true family environment for these children, and they were to gracious and grateful for our donation . As if all that wasn’t exhausting enough, we have a 2 mile section of road in Hernando county which we cleanup quarterly, and annually, assist in the Inverness Cooter Festival as judges for the children’s costume contest. A few of our members rode to Albany Georgia in support of their ABATE fallen officer fundraiser rally. We can often be spotted riding the beautiful, rural rodes of central and north Fla, some us on two wheels, some on three, but always smiling and loving being a Diva Angel. Please check out our website http://www.divaangels.org/ to find a chapter near you or visit us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/DIVAANGELSNC/ COME RIDE WITH US! Welcome to the Back Yard. I do hope everyone staying safe right now. So far, I haven't heard any reports of my biker friends kicking out the mother in law or wishing the kids would go spend so time at Grandma’s house. It has been hard but stay positive and we will be back up and running full throttle soon. Well, sure seemed funny not riding up to Leesburg for the Bike fest, but it will be back in 2021 bigger and better than ever. The folks in Leesburg already have the dates set. So next event is the Full Throttle Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run from Clearwater to Islamorada in the Keys June 13th. So, make your plans to

join us for a great ride. Then, August 7th through the 16th it’s off to the 80th Black Hill Rally in Sturgis SD. Full Throttle has you covered. This year we have our own Full Throttle camping area at the Legendary Buffalo Chip. If you want to camp with the Full Throttle crew. Just call Buffalo Chip at 602-3479000 and tell them to set you up in the Full Throttle village. There is limited full RV hook ups in our area so if you want them call today. But plenty of dry camping if you have generator on your RV or if you are bringing tents. Well that’s about it from the Back Yard. Remember folks we are all in this together and always keep your stick on the ice. MONGO
