November marks our 21st year in business and I would personally like to thank everyone of our readers who religiously read our monthly publication and just about 5 years since I purchased the magazine from my Father, Paul Cianci. THANK YOU for keeping us in business, as a small business it’s not easy to succeed. Every day is a fight to get new advertisers and sponsors of events, put on events and pay the bills. I would also like to thank everyone who comes out to our events including bike nights, bike shows, Expos, anniversary parties and anything else we help host around the state of Florida. We will be celebrating our Anniversary Party on November 12th at Kickin Wingz. We have a ton of great stuff planned like bike shows, bikini contest, biker games and we are even going to shoot a man out of a cannon. David “The Bullet” Smith is coming in for the event and is shooting himself out of a cannon. This is going to be something you will not want to miss. So again, thank you and much love to everyone! November 15th – 19th is Bert’s St. Pete Beach Bike Fest. This is a first-time event, but it has had a lot of attention since they are bringing in 3 national bands to play for the bikers on the beach. Thursday night is Vince Neil, Friday night is Colt Ford and Saturday night is Queensryche. Full Throttle will be putting on a bike show on Sunday at the Tradewinds, look for more info in this month’s issue. They are also having a Baddest Bagger competition with builders coming in from all over the USA. Besides all the great music, they have daily poker runs, beach crawls, bikini contest, live motorcycle auction and much more! For more info visit www.stpetebeachbikefest.com Full Throttle is looking a few months ahead right now to FEB. 9th – 11th for the Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational at Quaker Steak and Lube. This is a FREE event to attend and this year we are bringing in 4 National Acts. Friday night will be WARRANT, Saturday night we have Jasmine Cain and LITA FORD and Sunday We have stormbeinger with Robbie Steinhart from Kansas! Now that’s a great line up for a FREE event! WE are looking for sponsors to help make this event a huge success. All sponsors for the Expo get a 1-year (12 month) advertising agreement in Full Throttle Magazine along with your sponsorship, booth space, web advertising, Facebook ads and much more! We are also looking for custom Radical motorcycle builds to enter the $20,000 Bike Builder Invitational. If you have a bike and would like to enter please email me some pictures for submission. We are only inviting 50 motorcycles to the show and it is invite only! Please contact us at 727-935-4875 or email me at tonyc@floridafullthrottle.com if you would like to help make this event a huge success for everyone! I would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holiday Season, this is my favorite time of the year that makes me feel good about busting our butts all year long to spend time with our families. The weather is looking better every day and not so blistering hot and you can already taste the turkey and cranberry sauce. Happy birthday to Jake and Izzy, Charlie Humphries and My brother in law Robert, I hope everyone eats a lot of turkey and stuffing and has a great Thanksgiving. STRAWBERRIES MY LOVE.

Just today, someone sent me a link to a news story about a 30-year old woman in Los Angeles that was killed in a motorcycle crash. According to the story, the woman was riding a 95 HarleyDavidson and upon rounding a curve, crossed the center line, and crashed head on into a truck. The point of the email was a Ride Like a Pro class is desperately needed in the Los Angeles area. Well, the good news is, we are working on a Ride Like a Pro training location in California. Now, I currently have 17 Ride Like a Pro schools around the country, Japan and Indonesia and are always looking to expand. Getting back to the terrible crash that the emailer wrote to me about; this type of crash is called “failure to negotiate a curve,” and it’s the most common motorcycle crash that involves just the rider. There are many reasons for why people fail to negotiate a curve. In general, it is due to the rider lacking skills and not applying the proper techniques to negotiate the curve. Rarely is the rider’s speed a factor. The proper way to negotiate a curve is to do all your braking BEFORE entering the curve. Start the curve in the outside portion of the turn. If the road curves to the right, you start the turn in the left portion of your lane. That allows you to use your head and eyes for the best view around the turn. Next, you head for the apex, or the inside of the curve, then exit to the outside. So, what causes a rider to run too wide and cross the center line? First, the rider looks at the center line or the oncoming vehicle and since the hands follow the eyes, (you go where you look), the rider gets closer and closer to the obstacle. In addition, most riders have no

16

idea how far their bikes can lean because they’ve never tested their lean limits. As the bike starts to lean further than it does when sitting on its kickstand, riders tend to panic and straighten up the bike. Once the bike straightens up, it can no longer turn. Thus, the bike goes straight into the oncoming lane. Most riders, even those with many years of “experience”, ride on instinct alone. Sadly, when it comes to riding skillfully, it’s the opposite of your instincts. Your instincts tell you to fight that lean. Your instincts tell you to stare at the thing you don’t want to hit. In other words, the exact opposite of what you should be doing. How can you tell if you need some training? Well, if you think you don’t need more training, you probably need it more than anyone else. As an example. Last week I was at a local bike rally with my Ride Like a Pro team performing our rider skills show. Between shows I watched this woman riding through the rows of bikes looking for a parking spot. She’s riding a new Indian Chieftain with a beautiful custom paint job. I can see she’s intermittently dragging her feet and duck walking her bike and looking straight down at the ground directly in front of her and she has her hand on the front brake. She didn’t fall but she had several close calls in less than a minute. As she passed by my booth, I called her over and told her about my new Ride Like a Pro on your Indian DVD. She said, “I don’t need that, I just ride for fun!” Translation? I depend on dumb luck. This woman spent 30K on a bike she has no clue how to ride. Believe me folks, if you think riding is fun now, it’s a whole lot more fun when you actually know what the hell you’re doing, and a lot safer. It doesn’t take weeks or months to learn the proper techniques, it just takes a few hours. I’ve seen riders who have improved their skills by 100% with just an hour of practicing the techniques I demonstrate in my Ride Like a Pro video. When they come to my class with an hour or two of practice, they are night and day above the riders who come to me with years of experience that never watched my video or practiced the proper techniques. So, what kind of rider are you? For more information on my advanced Ride Like a Pro class, DVDs, downloads, and book, www.ridelikeapro.com

What a month Full Throttle has had. One event after another along with all the bike nights. We had our first annual Full Throttle Fall Festival. What a good time with all the bands, Motor Man, ACW wrestling and our awesome vendors. We held two bike shows that were sponsored by Liquid Addiction, Watson Custom Cycles and FIN Find It Now GPS. We want to thank all of you for coming out and making the event such a great success. Just after finishing fall fest we headed out to Biketoberfest in Daytona. Holding our Boardwalk bike show and the speedway bike show. Along with the first ever night time show at Grand View Live Gentleman's Club. What a fantastic time. 3 shows in 36 hours bringing out some of the best bikes in the country. We had hundreds of entries to judge and gave out some fantastic trophies. Our first ever night time show really held up its name. All the lights and sound were off the charts. We met a lot of new people and made a ton of new

friends. Don't forget about bike week coming up in March. We will be hosting two (2) night time shows at Grandview Live along with the speedway show and board walk. These will be the best shows you have ever seen. Be sure to come out and enter your ride. Keep an eye on the Magazine for dates and times. While we were there, Tony took us all to the big Kory Souza baggier show and Party Saturday night to close out the weekend. The best of the best was all in one place showing off their machines. Thank you, Kory, for one hell of a good time. Well it's getting that time of the year again when the snow birds come back, and our roads get real busy. Please pay attention and make this winter riding season one you will never forget. We have so much fun stuff coming up for everyone this winter. It's finally cooling off and getting nice. So, like always, be free and Ride safe. Till next time. You ever thought about creating your own event maybe holding a bike night at your business or even just running an ad showing off your business. Give me a call or email me. I will come out and fix you up. Les Tolliver Sales Manager and Event Organizer 727-534-4447 or Les.FullThrottleMagazine@gmail.com

What is an "Old School Biker"? The urban dictionary defines this person as, "Someone with grease under his nails and has the need to see the road stretched out in front of him". A person who doesn't care about the destination, it's all about the ride! The brand he rides does not define him or his age. It would be easier to define him by the places you won't see him, fancy coffee shops, ice cream parlors, or trendy new spots. You won't see their bikes on a trailer, they ride in the rain, sleet, snow, and wind. They don't ride fancy or flashy, they just ride. To me an Old School Biker is the person dressed in leather, or an old jean jacket with the sleeves cut off. Someone whose cut (vest) is covered in patches from places they have been , rides they have been on or the memories of their fallen brother or sister. This cut is very important to a biker, they will pro-

48

tect it as they protect their ride. These "Old School Bikers" will be the ones to stop when they see a fellow biker in need . They will go out of their way to help and will take nothing in return. Tattoos and long hair or beards are common, but not a necessity. They believe in the old school saying, Loyalty, Honor, Respect, Brotherhood. Being Old School is not something you can buy your way into. It is definitely something that is earned through respect. Brother and Sisterhood should never be assumed, it must be earned. Old School is a way of life, a proud way, I have had the honor of meeting some very interesting "Old School Bikers", and I can honestly say, if you meet up with one, just sit and listen, the words, the stories, the experience will be eye opening.

At the end of his sermon the pastor asked if anyone in the congregation wanted to express praise for answered prayers. Suzie Smith stood up and walked to the podium. She said, “I have a praise. Two months ago, my husband, Phil, was in a terrible bicycle wreck and his scrotum was completely crushed. The pain was excruciating and the doctors didn’t know if they could help him.” A muffled gasp arose from the men in the congregation as the thought of the pain poor Phil must have experienced sank in. “Phil was hurt so badly that he couldn’t even hold me or the kids,” Suzie continued. “Every movement caused terrible pain. We prayed when his doctors performed the delicate operation required to repair the extensive damage. Luckily they were able to piece the crushed and broken remnants of Phil’s scrotum together and wrap it in wire to hold everything in place.” Again, the male half of the congregation squirmed uncomfortably, cringing at the thought of what Phil went through. “Today,” Suzie announced in a quivering voice, “Thanks to the Lord, Phil is out of the hospital. His doctors say that with time, his scrotum should recover completely.” A great sigh of relief arose from the pews. The shaken pastor stood and tentatively asked if anyone else had anything to say. A man stood up and walked slowly to the podium. He looked around the congregation and said, “I’m Phil.” The entire assembly held its collective breath. “I just want to tell my wife that the word is sternum.”

I have been in many places, but I’ve never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can’t go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone. I’ve also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however, been in Sane. They don’t have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work. I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I’m not too much on physical activity anymore. I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often. I’ve been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm. Sometimes I’m in Capable, and I go there more often as I’m getting older. One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get! And, sometimes I think I am in Vincible but life shows me I am not! I have been in Deepshit many times; the older I get, the easier it is to get there. ********************************************* A man suffered a serious heart attack while shopping in a store. The store clerk called 911 when they saw him collapse to the floor. The paramedics rushed the man to the nearest hospital where he had emergency open heart bypass surgery. He awakened from the surgery to find himself in the care of nuns at the Catholic Hospital. A nun was seated next to his bed holding a clipboard loaded with several forms, and a pen. She asked him how he was going to pay for his treatment. “Do you have health insurance?” she asked. He replied in a raspy voice, “No health insurance.” The nun asked, “Do you have money in the bank?” He replied, “No money in the bank.” Do you have a relative who could help you with the payments?” asked the irritated nun. He said, “I only have a spinster sister, and she is a nun.” The nun became agitated and announced loudly, “Nuns are not spinsters! Nuns are married to God.” The patient replied, “Perfect. Send the bill to my brother-in-law.”

The National Poetry Contest had come down to two, a Yale graduate and a redneck from Texas. They were given a word, then allowed two minutes to study the word and come up with a poem that contained the word. The word they were given was “Timbuktu.” First to recite his poem was the Yale graduate. He stepped to the microphone and said: Slowly across the desert sand Trekked a lonely caravan; Men on camels, two by two Destination Timbuktu. The crowd went crazy! No way could the redneck top that, they thought. The redneck calmly made his way to the microphone and recited: Me and Tim a huntin’ went. Met three whores in a pop up tent. They was three, and we was two, So I bucked one, and Timbuktu. The redneck won hands down! ******************************** Yesterday I got stuck behind a young girl riding a horse. No matter what I did, I just couldn’t get past her. I was tooting my horn, and hanging out the window yelling at her. She still wouldn’t let me past. There was a guy on a motorcycle behind me and he was waving too. I was getting so wound up and frustrated. “It’s people like you that cause accidents!” I shouted. Eventually, I just couldn’t take any more so I looked around to make sure the coast was clear... ... and then I jumped off the carousel.

Here we go again, It's been another exciting and busy month here at Full Throttle Magazine. We have had and eventful month with the 5 Bridge Poker Run, Full Throttle Fall Fest, Biketoberfest, and Thunder Beach, and the numerous Bike Nights and other events. I would like to personally thank everyone who came out to support one or all the events. I mean who does three bike shows (all with good turn outs) in about a 24 to 36 hour period, THAT'S RIGHT FULL THROTTLE MAGAZINE! Now let me tweak your 60

ear on this, How about everyone who is driving or riding on the roads SLOW DOWN and drive like you have some sense. I'm telling you, I've seen way to many people speeding down roads for no apparent reason, blow through school zones (that really pisses me off ), running red lights, these are ALL easy fixes, I mean wake up earlier to arrive at a reasonable time to your destination, put your phones down, OPEN your eyes, and pay attention. PEOPLE IT'S THAT EASY TO DO!!! KEEP THE RUBBER ON THE ROAD, FLUFFY

“Escape to Bimini” Swimming with 16 ft. Hammerhead’s and more…. What do Hemingway, Buffet & Martin Luther King all have in common? Their love for the Island of Bimini in the Bahamas, just a quick 50 mile trip from the East Coast of Florida. What is it about Bimini that enchants icons like Hemingway to make Bimini his summer home, inspires Jimmy Buffet to write his first book “Tales of Margaretville” and creates a special place of serenity for Martin Luther King to enjoy, write and spend some of his last days. Bimini may be a smaller island but there is no shortage of “Once in a Lifetime” experiences and adventures to be had. Bimini boasts a rich, racy past and an exciting and growing future. During prohibition Bimini was a convenient speakeasy and liquor store and also became home to some of the most notorious Rumrunners in the business. The good news is the Bahama Mama’s are flowing freely and the Sands Beer is waiting for you ice cold at Sherry’s Paradise Beach Bar. If you haven’t been to Bimini you might ask since I can’t bring my Bike “what is there to do” and “is Bimini really that exciting?” I can tell you this, just planning to be there a few days is not enough time to do it all. I never thought I would say this but I am excited that “Hammerhead Season” is here, yes you heard me right and no I am not crazy. Bimini is one of the few places in the World where you can do a few unique things and one of them is swim with 16 foot

Hammerhead sharks and come back with all your fingers and toes. When the winter months approach the Bahamas the water temperatures start to cool down a few degrees (74) the Hammerhead sharks start to appear. Grab your snorkel or scuba gear and dive down in 25 ft. of water for a “life changing” experience. After you are done swimming with these handsome devils you should take a trip over to Triangle Rock and check out the Caribbean Reef and Blacktip sharks. Now if all the shark talk is a bit too racy for you, take a trip cruising around the crystal blue waters looking for pods of spotted dolphins. This is one of the most spiritual experiences you can ever have with one of the most majestic creatures on earth, swimming with Wild Dolphins. Taking a snorkel trip to the Sapona a concrete vessel that was built by Henry Ford in 1911, and now rests in just 17 feet of water after being run aground by a Hurricane in 1926. If being above the waterline is more your style no worries it is Wahoo season and they are huge this time of year in Bimini. Bimini is known as the Big Game Fishing Capital of the World? You can target so many species in addition to Wahoo such as Mahi, Sailfish, Marlin, and the elusive Bonefish. Bimini Undersea is the best adventure company for all the above experiences, stay tuned we are planning a Full Throttle Bimini Adventure. Misty Wells Host of the National Radio & TV show “Let’s Take It Outside” airing on the Pursuit Channel 2018. Outdoor Pro –Writer & Adventure Guide for Fishing & Hunting trips. What a great October we had here at Full Throttle Magazine! With the Full Throttle Fall Fest at the Harley-Davidson of New Port Richey, Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach, where we did three amazing bike shows, and got to attend Kory Souza’s “No Class Bike Show”, a personal favorite event of mine. My wife, Christine, and I will be attending the “Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s Basic Ridercourse” over at Bert’s Barracuda in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned on both Facebook pages, as I am sure there will be plenty of video. We figured that it is finally time to pursue our endorsements, and the great staff over at Bert’s Barracuda have already made us feel comfortable in our decision. Looking forward to seeing everyone out and

Also it was the first year for Full throttle Fall Fest my favorite new event, Jasmine Cain rocked the stage at New Port Ritchey HD man that woman can growl…, Biketoberfest was too much fun between all the Bike shows FT put on and great events everywhere from the cabbage patch to Main Street ,it was… well as I said too much fun! November brings our Full throttle Anniversary Party where aside from the normal great time of bands, food, cool vendors “David The Bullet Smith” will be doing his human cannon ball show , he just broke the world record for highest jump, come see him shoot himself out of a cannon , It will be filmed by 66

With so many great events in November there is something to do every single night around here. I may not get much fishing done! Hope to see you all out taking this all in , and for any bike nights/ads in my area give me a ring I am always happy to help, And as some of you know, I am running for a seat on commission in my city, please wish this pollical newcomer good luck, If I lose, I am pretty sure it was God doing me a favor… remember to vote , it matters no matter where you live!
