I want to thank everybody who attended the Florida Motorcycle Expo that was held at Quaker Steak & Lube the last weekend in January. QS&L was jammed packed everyday and we had one hell of a turnout! The bands were fantastic, the motorcycles in the Bike Builder Invitational were great, we had vendors everywhere and the ride-in bike show was the biggest and best ever! Thanks to our sponsors, thanks to Bill Church and QS&L, thanks to the Diva Angels and thanks to all of you who attended! Please take a look at the recap inside this issue. Well, here we are ... Bike Week 2011! Let’s hope we get a good week of weather this year. As usual, look for Full Throttle all around town. We will have booths set up at JP Cycles (located at Destination Daytona), the Iron Horse Saloon, The Boardwalk Bike Show and the Rat’s Hole Show. We will also be out and about at area bars, restaurants and events. My word of advice to everybody is ride defensively. Bike Week features hundreds of bikes that jut in and out of traffic. There are plenty of “novice riders” out there that cannot handle the amount of traffic you see every year in Daytona. Be careful and ride cautious ... and of course don’t ride drunk! We have a few changes here at Full Throttle with one being the act that Reverand Jim is no longer a part of our staff. Jim has decided to spend more time promoting his company and I wish him the best. He will be missed, but (as always) Full Throttle will find a replacement and move forward! I want to take time to send birthday wishes to Pete (The Bush Man) Cuttie who gets better looking every year! I also want to wish everybody a Happy St.Patty’s Day and remind you that Daylight Savings Time starts on Sunday March 13.

WOW…did somebody say Leesburg Bike Fest and Easter? I can not believe that we are already at this time of the year! January weather was a little iffy but February has been pretty amazing! Almost every weekend has been perfect riding weather, and then I looked at the news and see all that cold ass white stuff all over the ground up north. What is it called again…..snow? I feel sorry for all of those bikes that are just sitting in the garage! Lot’s of things are changing all over the place now that spring is right around the corner. I have noticed an increase all over the place and it is starting to feel like we are pulling out of this economical crunch we have been in for quite some time. I have seen more new ads coming in, and the phone seems to be ringing much more than before! Our ad rates are very affordable and, hands down, we have the best product on any shelf in comparison to our competition. If you are thinking of advertising with Full Throttle remember that we also have an e-mail list with over 6,000 local bikers e-mails (with a 30% open rate) and our Facebook page has close to 4,000 fans. When you spend your advertising dollars with FULL THROTTLE MAGAZINE, YOU DEFINETELY GET YOUR VALUE’S WORTH!!! Full Throttle has a lot of busy weekends coming up! Of course we are in Daytona at Bike Week but in April we will also be at Leesburg Bike Fest in front of the library, it’s the same location we had last year! That same weekend we will be at the Renaissance Festival on April 10th with 98 Rock for their biker weekend and Bike Show! Bikers get in for $10 on the 10th which is a $5 savings from the regular price. Register from 10am till 2pm with awards at 4pm. See the ad on page 34 in this issue for more info. Keep an eye on our website for more videos from the event that we will be attending and the resurgence of FULL THROTTLEVISION. We are thinking of bringing the show back on air but only as a web show. That way we can do a weekly show and cover the events we did that weekend! We will have spaces for web ads and commercials that will run during the show and they will be VERY AFFORDABLE! Call me if you are interested in being a sponsor of FULL THROTTLEVISION! I would like to wish my Dad a Happy Birthday on March 3rd. He is a great man and a wonderful grandfather! I would also like to wish everyone a Happy St. Patricks’s Day. PLEASE don’t drink and drive or ride! Make sure if you are going to party and drink lots of green beer, you have a designated driver! Strawberries to my special someone and BTW…I STILL WANT THAT CHARITY BOXING MATCH WITH YOU KNOW WHO! Have a great Bike Week and please be safe!

HARLEY-DAVIDSON TO BECOME A SPONSOR OF THE 2011 HOKA HEY MOTORCYCLE CHALLENGE New Sponsor for 2011 Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge Announced

The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge announced today that Harley-Davidson Motor Company will provide marketing and promotional support for the 2011 Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge. The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge will present the world’s greatest long distance endurance motorcycle event in August of 2011. The event, the second annual in a series, will begin in Phoenix, Arizona and travel through all fortyeight contiguous States and Canada to Nova Scotia. The route will travel over 10,000 miles requiring passion and determination to complete. The event is open to all riders of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Riders can ride the entire route or segments within the route. “We’re excited about what the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge represents to our riders,” said Steve Piehl, Harley-Davidson Director of Customer Experience. “The new direction of being more about a personal test of touring endurance, where rider and machine stretch the boundaries of long-distance touring, appeals to us. It’s a perfect match for the superior touring experience and capabilities of HarleyDavidson motorcycles. ‘Hoka Hey’ translates to ‘It’s a good day to ride!’ and that is always the case on a Harley.” “The Hoka Hey is about being the greatest endurance motorcycle event ever held and we are very excited to become associated with the greatest motorcycles ever built,” said Jim Red Cloud, founder of the Hoka Hey Challenge. “HarleyDavidson’s support and guidance will certainly enhance this ambitious event.” The first twenty-five participants to reach the finish and who ride the complete stipulated route will be recognized as winners and be eligible for monetary awards. Each rider will have the opportunity to designate a selected “home HarleyDavidson dealership” when they enroll. The home dealers of the top five finishers will be eligible for awards and recognition alongside the riders. There will be fifteen check points along the route located at Harley-Davidson dealers where participants must check in as they ride the route. In addition to being an event sponsor, Harley-Davidson is exploring hosting a check point at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For further information about the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge or to obtain enrollment information, visit the event’s web site www.hokaheychallenge.com or contact the office at 480-649-1071 or info@hokaheychallenge.com.

FLORIDA MOTORCYCLE EXPO A HUGE SUCCESS Great ... fantastic ... stupendous ... huge ... excellent ... I could go on until I run out of adjectives. The 2011 Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational was the biggest and best in Full Throttle’s history! This was #13 and it nothing but lucky for everybody involved. This year we moved the Expo to a new location and the Quaker Steak & Lube venue was wonderful. We installed three huge tents, filled every inch of driveway with vendors, hired Central Florida’s top bands and packed the place with people ... it was amazing! Friday featured The Bobby Friss Band who rocked QS&L until 10pm that evening. Saturday featured Rockem Sockem Robots, Sunzabeaches and The Greg Billings Band and Sunday, The Dive Bar Stalkers brought down the house! All three days featured $100 cash giveaways and hourly raffles. Saturday hosted the Tattoo Contest and probably the best bikini contest Full Throttle has ever had! Sunday was the day for an astounding ride-in bike show that had over 65 great looking bikes! We also gave away a 42” television set, i-pod and QS&L gift certificate Sunday afternoon along with over $7,500 in the Bike Builder Invitational. We want to sincerely thank Attorney Fran Haasch, QS&L, St.Pete Powersports, Brothers Powder Coating,

K&K Cycles, The Metal Shop, Florida’s Finest Bikini Babes, Whirlwind Entertainment, The Wingate Hotel, Preachers Cycle Promotions, Matrix Systems and the Diva Angels for helping us make this the very best Expo ever! Here are just a few photographs from the Expo. If you would like to see additional pictures, please go to www.FloridaFullThrottle. com. by Paul Allen

EXPO PRIZE WINNERS Stephany Fisher won the ipod, Shawn claimed the Quaker Steak & Lube Gift card for his Mom, Cathy Weideman and Don with Tony collecting the Big Screen TV. CONGRATS!

Hi All, ok it’s time to go to Daytona for Bike Week, all 10 days of work and some fun… I like going to new places to meet new friends and some old friends too. I get asked “you must have fun all the time being there” and I will tell you the first days are fun but if you stay in one place more than 5 or 6 days. It’s not fun… I’d like to thank all of you for reading my little story and I need to congratulate Ray at Thunder Bay Custom Cycles on finding the two men. I have two more things to find now. I need the right location of the two walls in the pic. You can e-mail me with the right location at dewfullthrottle2@ yahoo.com Till next time, Live life to the fullest and party you’re a** off Dew

Classic Bike Ramblings AND THE WINNER IS.......................................... Interesting thing happened about 4:30 pm on Jan 29th I won my 500th bike show trophy. I didn’t quite know what to write here you see I hate all those Grammy and Academy Award "thank you" speeches. So there I was at a little Treasure Island bar trying to figure out what to put down and a friend of mine Ron came in. He knew I was there by my vintage side car bike out front. He introduced me to Charlotte the hot lil surfer girl bartender as "Mr. 500" and it occurred to me that he and some others think that it’s kinda cool that in six years and with a variety of vintage The 500th Trophy bikes I had won 500 awards and it became clear to me (after the third jeagermeister) I had plenty of people to thank. There will be a future article titled "Chasing the Plastic Demon: The life and Times of a Trophy Ho, "but for now I will have to resort to the "Academy" type canned thank you! The 500th win came at Full Throttle's Bike Expo show and was the coveted "Editors Choice" award given to me by my editor and long time friend Tony “Chief Cupcake" Cianci and while this may look like a "fix" I have had no greater fan than him and was very honored that he wanted to be a part of history and this milestone. Mr. 500 shirts, cakes and hundreds of photos were provided on this day by my good friends Fran Haasch and Rhett Jones who along with her father and the Haasch-ettes (Desire and Michelle) and all of Fran’s employees and well wishers that included the Diva Angels, my brother Dan and my good friend from Louisville Justin Hays who were there to make it epic. Also, a giant thank you to Leslie Gilcrist for hand painting SOOOOO many Mr. 500 cowboy hats for us all and to my "Trophy Counter" Scott (MR 014) who kept my numbers straight and honest! My old bikes have shown me and taken me to some amazing places and made me some lifelong friends in this chase for 500.And now onto the sucking up part of our evening. I guess I need to start with Rev. Jim for I would be somewhere around MR 302 without his shows. Always a fan of older bikes and one of the few judges in the area to try and put on "Vintage only bike shows" he’s never been afraid to go against the grain and put an unrestored vintage bike above some of the "flavor of the month" customs. And as with all show judges, it’s a thankless job trying to determine who wins with so many different styles and ages of bikes thrown together at our local level. I’m glad I was more on the "winning" side with the good Reverend. Ron Galletti and Spyke & Mike from BTR have also been huge fans of my vintage bikes and want to thank them for the many great shows, great times and so many wins. Another top judge and one who has become a great friend is the one and only Radical Randy and his cool wife Wendy (and his family). They always get me in the shows, a great spot and Randy always respected and made mention of my bikes even if they didn’t make it into the winners circle, you're a true friend of vintage bikes. I have to thank Jim at Kahunas who gave me

my first trophy 6 long years ago and to his peeps Roberto, Jessica and Lisa who kept me winning. Many of you remember Vince Campbell (&Sparkles) Vince is gone but not forgotten to me. Not only was he a tough show competitor but I’m proud to have won so many trophies from him Mr. 502 at Kahunas, the VFW and along with Butch Lawless many from Big Shots. Cherie Okie my one and only "singers choice" award! There was Pete Bartakalis at Brandy’s and Bottom Ups, P-Man down in Bradenton and Jason from Dime City Cycles. Minh from Venom and the award from Wicked Choppers who all helped get me to 500.Party Patti threw in some more up at LA Hangout and many other "spots" have given me there fair share in and out of this state. Thank you to Jeremy and the gang at Jim's Harley who have been great to me even though I’m not a Harley! I also gotta thank Ray at Harlies and The Drunken Clam for a few and Bobby at Cruizin Eagle who has helped my total count. Can’t forget Wayne Landry who has given me a fair amount, he’s one tough guy. Bob down at HAPS, we all miss your dad and you have some amazing bikes yourself. Your trophies rank up there with my National awards. I’d like to thank all the people at Riding Into History for the ones I've won and the ones I didn’t get to, thank you .Grass Flats, Quaker Steak and Lube, Oldsmar, Palm Harbor, New Port Richey, Brothers Motor Fest, Plant City, Rat's Hole, Boardwalk Daytona, Beef O Brady’s, Bannana Boat, J.D.'s, Peggys, Gibsonton, Hooters, Zephyrhills, Thunder by the Bay, Gators, SPYC, Ribfest, Brandon Harley, Websters, Bikes for Badges, Am Vic Bike Fest, Chili Blaze, Hard Rock Casino, O Briens, Shenananiganz, Cotee River Bike Fest and many, many more place I have won at. Thank You. And thanks to Nick Athanason, Della Costa & Neville, Winters and Yonker and Jill at Q Auto & Injury who’s names appear on many of my awards. And no I didn’t "forget" Biff Burgers an amazing place and a great family who give so much back to downed bikers, people in need and the children. Troy and George have given me so many wonderful times and trophies for so long that this has been and always will be my "home" bike night. Troy you’re a great judge and a wonderful person. I have to thank Fran Haasch AGAIN for making this last year so fun and so interesting it’s really been cool. And in closing Id like to give the biggest thanks to Tony, Paul and Tracy Allen, Dew, Phil, Big Al, Candy, Mumbles and all at Full Throttle for all your help with trailers, logistics and support and for putting up with my over inflated ego and my incredible genius! Most of all I’d like to thank all the people who stop, look and take pictures of my old bikes. That is the true reason I bring them out. So I’m going to sign this MR 500.................for now.

It always makes me sad to tell about another brother passing away. The month of February Alan W. Dirr left a wife and 2 children, bothe are serving in the U.S military. R.I.P. Alan. I guess everyone knows our Expo and Bike Build Off was a great success. If you missed it, sorry hope to see you next year. Also it’s niece to see Grady Judd the Polk County Sheriff hanging out with bikers. Red dog it was nice to see you with him in a good environment! Well if you are reading this I guess you know it is Bike Week in Daytona but if you run around the state to other cities you will find that other cities that have bike businesses have things going on like Orlando H-D, check it out! Ormand Beach a lot of businesses people have moved

there from Daytona. Wonder why?! Ha Ha There is a lot going on in Florida last of February and March, too many places to mention. Of course, you know I like Webster, FL the first of every month. It is like a monthly bike day 12 times a year. You can take it in early and ride after to your favorite restaurant or watering hole or whatever else you want to do. Hope to see you some where! Especially the ladies every one knows I like them. See you soon Jennifer

The guys were all at a hunting camp. No one wanted to room with Bob, because he snored so badly. They decided it wasn’t fair to make one of them stay with him the whole time, so they voted to take turns. The first guy slept with Bob and comes to breakfast the next morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all bloodshot. They said, “Man, what happened to you? He said, “Bob snored so loudly, I just sat up and watched him all night.” The next night it was a different guy’s turn. In the morning. Same thing, hair all standing up, eyes all bloodshot. They said, “Man, what happened to you? You look awful! He said, ‘Man, that Bob shakes the roof with his snoring.. I watched him all night.” The third night was Fred’s turn. He was a tanned, older cowboy, a man’s man. The next morning he came to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. “Good morning!” he said. They couldn’t believe it..They said, “Man, what happened?” He said, “Well, we got ready for bed. I went and tucked Bob into bed, patted him on the butt and kissed him on the cheek good night. Bob sat up and watched me all night.”

Press Release Contact: David “Lockdown” Rich Public Relations Trustee, ABATE of Florida, Inc. 386.490.4821 FAX: 396.490.4482 statepr@abateflorida.com www.ABATEFlorida.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ABATE of Florida, Inc. Fights for Stiffer Penalties for Negligent Drivers Deland, FL, January 27, 2011 – ABATE of Florida, Inc. once again begins our fight to get stiffer penalties levied upon careless and negligent drivers that hit, injure, and many times kill the motorcyclists on the roadways of Florida. Our battle begins this year with the filings of Florida House Bill 403 and Florida Senate Bill 608 this week, both titled “Traffic Offenses”. Over the last two years, we know of at least 24 motorcyclists that have been killed by careless, negligent, and/or drunk drivers. Of those cases, the vast majority of offending drivers have either not been charged at all, or have only been cited with “failure to yield”. Out of these deaths, only three drivers have been sentenced to over $166, with none sentenced to any time in jail. Florida House Bill 403, filed by Representative Baxley, and Florida Senate Bill 608, filed by Senator Evers, are both intended to establish a Florida law that will bring justice in sentencing when an offending vehicle driver injures and/or kills a motorcyclist. Representative Bill Baxley is currently the Chair of the Criminal Justice Sub-Committee and the Vice Chair of the Transportation and Highway Safety Sub Committee. He has served in the past as Florida’s Speaker Pro Tempore. Senator Evers sponsored our Stiffer Penalties Bill last year while a Florida House of Representatives member, and currently serves as the Chair of the Criminal Justice Committee and the Vice Chair or Transportation Committee in the Florida Senate. Both are members of ABATE of Florida and have been huge supporters of motorcyclists’ rights. ABATE of Florida, Inc. has been trying for years to get the penalties sentenced drivers convicted of hitting motorcyclists after negligent and/or reckless vehicle operation not only enforced, but made more severe. Now that our Stiffer Penalties Bills have been filed, we wish all to contact your elected representatives and ask them to support Senate Bill 608 and House Bill 403 in an effort to let your legislators understand that motorcyclists’ lives are worth more than a traffic ticket. ###

banks suck!

Bank of America lead all banks in the number of complaints lodged in the State of Florida last year. BOA had 227 total complaints (16.5% of all complaints) with mortgage disputes leading the way. In second place was JPMorgan Chase (119 complaints and 8.6%) followed by SunTrust (58 complaints and 4.2%).

Made in China General Motors said it sold 268,071 automobiles in China during the month of January. It was a monthly record for the world’s largest auto maker. The sad fact is GM sold more cars in China last year then they did in the USA.

WALLY world WalMart is now the nation’s largest grocer and nearly twice the size of Kroger Stores who rank number two. The store says it will reformulate thousands of products to make them healthier. The company plans to reduce sodium and sugars in numerous items along with reducing produce prices. The move has been praised by first lady Michelle Obama who is leading an effort to combat childhood obesity.

bigger is better

Speaking of WalMart ... the world’s largest retailer just keeps on getting bigger. Last month WalMart purchased 51 percent of Massmart, a South African retial chain, for an estimated $2-billion ... yes, that’s a “b” not a “m” .... $2-billion dollars!

blow that whistle Trust your neighbor and employee ... unless you’re talking about the IRS. The Internal Revenue Service has proposed new rules that will entice people to turn in businesses or individuals that are trying to beat the government out of tax money. Under the old rules, whistle-blowers would get rewards only if their tips resulted in the paying of additional tax money. The new rules would qualify whistle-blowers for rewards if their tips prevent businesses or individuals from claiming fraudulent tax refunds.

Well, we had another great Biker Bar Grand Opening. Thunder Tavern on SR 54 in New Port Richey was a big hit. The Bar B Q by Uncle Mel & Pop’s Heaven Scent Bar B Q was the best I have had, and living in Texas for 20 years, I have had a lot of good Bar B Q. Mel Carver ( from our Tampa Bay Bucs ) makes some of the best there is. It looked like everybody had a good time. DJ Patti even had some people play one of her bike event games. Those games you have to see to really enjoy. The staff at Thunder Tavern worked very hard to keep the cold beer and good times coming. They have a great backyard area for the outdoor things you may want to do. Drop by and check the place out and tell them you heard if from The Big “O”. Now that the weather is wonderful. We have a lot of bike events that are expanding. Skinnys Bar and Grill at 13228 US Hwy 19 in Hudson is going to every Monday Bike Night. Now you don’t have to think which Monday is bike night because every Monday is Bike Night at Skinnys. They also have great food everyday of the week. We have Wicked Choppers II Biker Appreciation Party on March 19. With DJ Patti to do the MC job and vendors, food, and Free Beer again. It should be another blast. Di’s Pub at 6636 Ridge Road is starting a Bike Nite every Friday this month. Check it out. DNA Cycles on Leo Kidd Ave. in Port Richey is going to have a big party to let

everybody know where they are. Check there ad and with me for more information when it’s going to happen. We also have a new place to get boots and stuff at. Boot Hide Out in Tarpon Springs has about the biggest selection of boots in stock this side of Texas. Come by or go to the web to see what all they have. Check there ad in this month Full Throttle for more information and a 10% discount. I would like to welcome South Beach Bar in Hudson to the magazine. Untill next time. Ride Safe and look out for the bad drivers. The Big “O”
