Welcome to the month of March .... home of Bike Week, Baseball Spring Training, March Madness basketball playoffs, my birthday and hopefully warmer weather! Damn .... this has been the coldest, wettest and windiest winter I can ever remember in my 28 years living in Tampa Bay. Hopefully, Mother Nature will be nice to everybody for Bike Week this year! Speaking of Mother Nature, she sure slapped Full Throttle in the face as the weather for our Annual Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational was terrible. We had a cold / wet day on Saturday and a cold / windy day on Sunday. Attendance was down 45% and we were forced to cancel the wrestling show and our outside band on Saturday. This was not the way we wanted to leave the Harborview Center (the building is being torn down later this year) as we have held the Expo in downtown Clearwater for the past seven years. We still had a great show and I actually had vendors tell me they made a few bucks! Congratulations to Steve Galvin who took home the $5,000 first place prize with his fantastic “Area 51” motorcycle! Please see the recap article and photographs inside this issue on pages 48-51. If you are going to Bike Week, stop by and say hello to us! Full Throttle will have tents set up at three Daytona locations .... 1) JP Cycles at Destination Daytona, 2) Iron Horse Saloon and 3) on Beach Street across from Daytona HarleyDavidson. We will also be at the Rat’s Hole Show and we will host our annual “Let’s Get Crazy Party” at Julian’s Restaurant on Friday March 5th. Be sure to ride carefully this month and remember if you are riding in Daytona .... A) watch out for the police (they are everywhere) .... B) watch out for the cages (they think they own the roads) .... and C) watch out for other motorcyclists (there are a lot of “rookies” on the streets during Bike Week). Please party responsibly and have a great St Patrick’s Day!! Happy Birthday Pete Cuttie!!!

Facebook

Well, here we are, Bike Week 2010!!! This is probably one of my favorite events of the year as we work our butts off all 10 days and party almost every night! This year we have 3 booths you can visit and pick up our sponsor's goodies and get this month’s magazine. The three locations are Ironhorse Saloon, JP Cycles at Destination Daytona and Beach Street across from Daytona Harley-Davidson. Ed Winterhalder will be signing autographs and taking pictures at the JP Cycles booth in Daytona. Look in the orange section for times and dates. Make sure you stop by and say high to us. Peewee will more than likely be at Ironhorse the whole time, Dew will be heading up the JP Cycles tent and Big Al and Myself will be down at Beach Street having a great time! Make sure we get a picture of you as I will be uploading pictures every night from Bike Week! The 7-Eleven ® distribution is going great! Sarasota and Manatee County seem to be going through books like they are going out of style! Remember you can go to almost 200 locations in the bay area and Volusia County and get the magazine. Look for the White rack by the front door or on the front window that has all the other free magazines and you will be able to find us there. We are looking for new reps and a regional editor for the North Florida (Purple) Section of our magazine. We are looking for a person who is will the hit the streets running, knows a lot of people in the industry, has a good knowledge of a computer, know how to e-mail and is willing to become part of the best magazine in the state of Florida. Our goal at this time is to work more towards the Tallahassee Area and the Jacksonville Area. If you know anyone looking to make a few extra bucks and has the drive to make this happen, please have them call us at 813-814-1424 or e-mail me at tonyc@floridafullthrottle.com Oldsmar Freedom Fest is right around the corner as well as our yearly Sore Ass Run. I am thinking of changing the name to the Soaked and Sore Ass Run as we always seem to get wet on this nice long ride. Keep reading Full Throttle as more information becomes available on this and numerous other events we have planned for 2010! We have grown again this month with all the new advertisers that are joining the #1 motorcycle magazine in the state. I would like to welcome LA Hangout, Iron Eagle Cycles, and the Tampa Bay Lightning for joining our winning team! LA Hangout has one of the best Thursday Night Bike Nights Around featuring Greg Billings and Radical Randy. Bear at Iron Eagle is one great guy and we have a few bike nights with the Tampa Bay Lightning in March and April everyone should attend. Welcome to the team! I would like to say Happy Birthday to Tracy and my Dad who have birthdays a week apart from each other. I would also like to let everyone know that they should become a fan of our Facebook Fan Page as we have special advertising opportunities only for our fans. So you won’t want to miss out on those if you are looking to spend a little bit of money on advertising in our magazine monthly. Keep working hard momma, you can do it! I wanna go fishing when you come back down in May!

Full Throttle Magazine March is upon us. Everyone is looking forward to BIKE WEEK. Take a moment and Think About A VET whether they are from the WWIII era or to the present era. Take a moment to think of what this world would be like if the PATRIOTIC PEOPLE had not fought for all of the FREEDOMS that we have in this country, and the freedom to go to DAYTONA and enjoy the brotherhood that this event allows. It is the same for all events. They can't come home from other country's to enjoy it with us.I have a niece in the Air Force that has just returned to Texas from a tour in Kuwait. WELCOME HOME KRIS WYLIE. We wish everyone a VERY SAFE AND HAPPY BIKE WEEK. Just a reminder of our TOY RUN on Sun. Dec. 12, 2010 Starting at Derby Lane Dog Track. You all know how time flies. WELL 2010 is off to a GREAT start! We’re so proud to be DIVA ANGELS! Can you believe that this is the Diva Angels, Inc. 5th year anniversary? How time passes when you’re having fun! Since the year has started, we, the Pasco County Chapter have had some really great rides, (even with the un-cooperative weather); we’ve also participated in the American Legion Post 335 Eskimo Run and the Good-Fellows Brotherhood MC Memorial run for Ghost. We had our first Garage Sale of the year, which turned out great. Now you know, the end of March is The Chasco Fiesta. Look for us to be working the beer truck for The Sertoma Club, once again. We always seem to have fun volunteering our time to awesome organizations! If you’ve been there, you know… Oh yeah another thing… Be on the look-out for upcoming information on our 3rd Annual Fundraising BBQ. (If you haven’t been to our previous 2, you have no idea what you’re missing.)

The Pasco Chapter has been around for five years now, too. We’re always looking for new members, women that want to ride, have a good time and volunteer to give back to their community. If you or some- one you know likes the idea of riding and want more information about joining our chapter, please don’t hesitate to send us an e-mail, we’d love to hear from you. THE OVERATED VINCENT....Starry Starry NIGHTS......and BIKE SHOWS

It was very interesting how this months article came to be. I had decided to write about what in my mind and research was a story about a very "overated" vintage motorcycle the "Vincent" produced between 1928 and 1956. Did a lot of research, many felt the same way, many felt it was a mythical bike sent down by Zeus himself. So by chance I was at my British buddy's house watching Top gear on television. This particular episode involved a British steam engine train, a 1949 Jag XK 120 and a 1949 Vincent Black Shadow in a 900 mile race. Without going into detail the Vincent placed third. It seemed to my biased mind it was a sign to write my "Vincent" article. But on the drive home I heard the Don McLean song "Vincent" a song wrote about a classic painter Vincent Van Gogh, a song that demonstrates McLeans admiration not only for the work of Van Gogh but for the man himself. It made me think of a Vincent that had been occupying my thoughts, time and prayers lately. I tend to write only of mechanical things, motorcycles in particular, as if they are living, soul filled entities, as if they were my friends. I'm not good at human interest, interviewing the celebrity of the moment or national hot shot. So friends bear with me as I diverge from the "bashing of the overated Vincent" article and tell you what, in my opinion has been a truly collectible Vincent we have here locally. He was born Vincent Campbell in Pleasant Point, Maine on a Passamaquaddy Indian Reservation in September of 1949. Vincents first experience with wheels was at three years old with a 3 wheel pedal toy tractor, which explains why as a bike judge he saw beauty in my antique BMW sidecar, but more on that later my friends. Around age 17 Vince rode a 1965 Honda Dream 150 down from Maine to see relatives here in Florida. Four months later(minus the dreams windshield) he returned to Maine and was drafted into the Army. Vincent served from 1966 to 1972 with the US Army's 5th. group Special Forces. As Vincent would put it "I did my job, enough said".He then became a Deputy Sheriff for awhile but settled into driving an 18 wheel tractor trailer for 18 years. I asked him a very important question, "what was your favorite truck"? His reply was a "Peterbilt" mine to I thought. Vincent had a lot of bikes through this period, none very memorable, in his "Go fast" stage he had a 1982 CB900 Custom, and by his accounts a very memorable bike that only lost one street race! With Vincent being being of American Indian heritage it seems logical a quote from what to me may be the best motorcycle film ever made"The Worlds Fastest Indian"would be appropriate.Burt Munro said "you live more in five minutes on a bike like this than some people live in a lifetime". The times I've ridden with Vincent, the look, the smile, the desire. I think he feels that quote. He lives that statement. I've always said I'm a guy with a lot of bikes, but Vincents a biker, the real deal. He and his wife Diann were instrumental in getting the bike nights and bike shows going at Big Shots and Kahunas. And I know from my previous bike shows where we were competitors , that he would rather be "trying to win one" rather than judging. But thats what makes him a judge we belive in, when he comes to you and says"I had to give you Best of Show, there wasn't a spot or mark on your bike"you knew your bike got a good look over. If you didn't win you looked a little harder at your bike. You see Vincents 1994 Sportster is a show winner, spotless always, tasteful and amazingly detailed"Pearl" has 113 Trophies to her credit so far.Thats 113 trophies to one bike in 6 years, pretty amazing numbers. So when Vincent gives you a trophy you know your bike was judged and judged well. When Vincent wasn't awarding trophys we were competing together.

A most memorable time was standing there together on the back of the SS American Victory(a must see ship built in 1945).For the very first Am Vic bike night. The two of us together on that grand old ship, trophies in hand. Then at the Batmans Brigade benefit run at Brandy's, this event again brought vincent and I togather trophies in hand. I don't know if I enjoy getting trophies from Vince or competing against him more. You see I really enjoyed seeing Troy at Biff Burgers give Pearl (with her new paint on) Bike of the Night, a few weeks ago and so did the crowd. When you get an award from Rev. Jim or Troy two of the best show judges around, it's a meaningful one, right Vincent? Let me tell you my friends Mr. 425's trophy count would be a bit higher if not for Vincent and Pearl. Vincent has some health issues as many of you know, thats not the point of this article. It's main thrust is that like many great motorcycles and adventures I write of, there are some great people who go without mention in our local industry and biking community.Classic friends that never wind up on the cover of national Publications or get interviewed at televised bike shows. But they should. They are what keeps this sport ,our events going on a local scale. Next time you see Vincent or another "local legend" toiling away at a bike night go thank them. Many for just being involved in our local motorcycling community, our bike nights, our bike shows, the local magazines and poker runs.Thank them for giving us a place to go,a trophy to win. They're not making anymore Vincent motorcycles anymore (which is ok by me).All the Van Goghs are spoken for by mueseums and collectors. But they are not making a lot of Vincent Campbells' anymore either .Friend, husband, bike judge, motorcyclist, soldier, fellow competitor. We have a lot of local guys and gals who do so much for so little in our area and in our state. Much is written of the machines, the specs, the technology and not enough about the local riders, the local pioneers of the sport. No, they are not world speed record holders, ones who jump busses or canyons or the custom builders selling their stuff on TV. It's the regular guys ,some who served in a jungle far away, or ones who had crazy adventures on crazy bikes and kept our sport and the biker brotherhood and yes the fun going from decade to decade. Many becoming our bike mechanics, painters, pinstripers and yes, somebody's got to do it, bike show judges. Guys like Vincent. No, I'm not going to tell you of Vincents thoughts on life, death, politics or gun control. Ive decided to recount some facts and some stories and interaction with a guy who has been a motorcylist most of his life, who went from being a fellow bike show competitor to a great friend. And I'm not going to go into details of his health problems.Suffice to say Vincent has a battle on his hands, and the local bike community has put politics, the economy and weather aside and showed their support for what he has done in the past.Vincent and I will soon compete against each other at Biff Burgers bike of the year....better start detailing now my friend! He also loved his friends and family and kept them close to his heart. He would share a good meal with a friend and end the evening with a night cap of Wild Turkey. Now he’s is set free from the pain and is finally riding the silent highway. We shed no tears just hold onto memories of a friend ….Brother Bear

As I sit around thinking what to write this month I thought about things in the past like the time I was checking out a Honda 750 super sport that I had cleaned the carbs on. It started to drizzle rain I seen a sexy girl walking in a hurry so I pulled up and offered her a ride. I thought it would get her where she was going faster. She informed me she was going to the titty bar down the street but she would not put her butt on a rice rocket! I left went home and when it quit raining I got out my black Harley went to the bar, she saw my H-D and said she would ride it. I said she could not put her nasty ass on it and rode away laughing!! I like all two wheel modes of transport. Another time years ago there was a weekend party, good food, lots of alcohol. Good party! One of our friends came on his old junker that he must have thought a lot of. He brought a long log chain and large lock. Ran the chain through the wheels and frame and around an oak tree and got drunk and passed out, so we cut the chain and took it and the lock left the bike. When he got up saw what happened we started laughing. He got on his bike and left we never did give him the chain and lock back. He never came to another party of ours! Another time I pulled into a bowling alley my friends said “what’s up” I told them I had gone to several bike shops to find something to make my bike look better I had not found anything. I spotted a girl in tight jeans with a nice butt and told her “that would make my bike look good with that on the back”. She hopped on

that was 25 years ago. We are still friends and it still looks good! I could go on for a long time with good memories! Like my new friend a Vietnam beauty that you may see selling stainless steel jewelry by me at the Webster Swap Meet. I really enjoy her company. Someone told her one day that she should not be working she should be fishing; she informed him she does not go fishing she goes catching! I got a good chuckle out of that. Stop by and say hello to her but be careful she is quite witty and I may get another laugh. Also, I would like to thank everyone who says hello, waves, talks to me, and the hugs from the ladies. See you soon Cherry I am sure all us 2 wheelers have good memories!!

Hello Friends, I am sure most of you are wishing for warmer weather like I am, to be able to ride off some of life's everyday stresses! The one night in February, it was "nice weather" I decided to take a ride up to LA Hangout. I am so glad I did. I got to see a few of some of most favorite women in the world...my dear friend Kimberly Duncan and also Vicki Griswold of Lightning Rod Motorcycles. I also ran into Lisa Marra, whom I hadn't seen in over 25 yrs, It was great surprise to get out and see my girls!! While there I ran into many other old friends and had a great time. From Beer Pong, to the loudest pipes contest, and then a three winner bike show. While 6 guys entered the loudest bike contest, I heard Radical Randy getting ready to announce them....I yelled ... WAIT!! As I ran to the parking lot, hopped on my bike and pulled up next to the other contestants. It was a blast ... Actually I won the 1st place trophy for "Loudest Pipes"!! Boy, I love my Vance & Hines long shots! The First Place winner of the bike show was 40 yr old Tommy McClain, with a big beautiful Bad Ass 2008 Road Glide, called "Orange Crush". Tommy recently moved to Tampa Jan 2010, and is currently working at Tampa Harley, in the Sales depart-

ment. Tommy's bike has 23"/18" black Renegade wheels, with a Pro Charger, Russ Wernimont front fender, Bad Dad rear fender, Tricky air suspension and a 5 degree Triple Tree Fork. LA Chopper handlebars, HHI brakes, forward controls and rear pegs, an FBI Dash, with all parts powder coated black, JNM speakers in his fairing, Alpine amp and Sound Dynamics speakers in his bags. With a painted inner fairing and Danny Gray seat. This bike is absolutely Beautiful!!! Let me tell you, this guy really knows his Bikes!! He is a super nice guy, with great southern charm! I am sure you will see more of Tommy Mcclain, out and about at our local events so be sure to go up to him and say hello! Don't forget to stop by Tampa Harley and let Tommy help you with your next purchase! By the time you get to read this, this issue has gone to print prior to Bike Week, so be sure to look out next month for my Bike Week recap! Until next time....

FLORIDA MOTORCyCLE ExPO & 2010 BIkE BUILDER InvITATIOnAL

The 12th Annual Florida Motorcycle Expo (sponsored by the law firm of Winters & Yonker) was an experience in wind, rain and cold temperatures! Mother Nature was in a bad mood and she took it out on Full Throttle! Saturday was flat out crappy and we were forced to cancel a few outside events. Sunday was much better, but it was still cold and windy. However, the people that braved the elements saw a great expo filled with vendors selling everything from jewelry to leathers to t-shirts to cigars to sunglasses to motorcycles and more! Expo Emcee, Radical Randy kept the crowd excited with our hourly raffles! We gave away prizes and $100 per hour (thanks to Cycle Masters). While it was raining outside, Saturday was fantastic inside the arena as the tattoo contest (sponsored by Cherry Bomb) had some fantastic contestants and the Miss Full Throttle pageant had eight smoking hot ladies battle it out for cash and prizes! Playboy model Mia McKinley signed posters and calendars on both days and the Jay Maddox Band put on a great show. Sunday’s ride-in bike show attracted over 50 bikes (thanks to Brothers Powder Coating for the great trophies) and the Dive Bar Stalkers rocked the outside stage.

All-in-all, the event was a success despite the bad weather and lower-thanexpected attendance. The Bike Builder Invitational had 48 spectacular motorcycles entered and the overall winner was Steve Galvin and his fantastic “Area 51” creation. Other winners included Jon Bonnin, Will Robertson, Rob Hitch, Richie Pan and David Leishman. This was the last year that we will hold the event at the Harborview Center as the building is being torn down by the City of Clearwater later this year. We want to sincerely thank all the vendors, sponsors, volunteers and people who attended this year’s Expo. The one thing we cannot control is the weather but we will continue to put on expos, poker runs and events. We are all ready planning for next year’s Expo and looking for a new location. We will let you know all the facts and figures as soon as we make a decision! by Paul Allen

It was 17 hours of driving straight, from Tarpon Springs, FL to Toledo, Ohio on I-75. I spent 2 days visiting my mom there then we jumped in the truck and headed to Cincinnati for the V-Twin Expo. The trip there was wonderful, no snow and great road conditions. The trip back was not so good. We left in a blizzard, NO JOKE!! We stopped for breakfast and they had 3 items available and called it a blizzard menu. The V-Twin expo was a great experience. There were tons of vendors and we even ran into Greg from Greg’s Custom Cycles. There were motorcycle celebrities everywhere! This was a great trip and I hope you enjoy the pictures. I have written this column for the past 12 years. I have talked about hundreds of items and even ruffled a few feathers from time-to-time. However, I could not believe the numerous comments I received on last month’s article. I wrote an entire page of text but only five sentences talked about our current President Barack Obama. Wow .... I didn’t realize how many people dislike this guy! What I wrote was, “People are jumping off the Obama bandwagon in record numbers. Come on everybody, the man took over an office in a terrible time. The previous administration left with a huge budget deficit and the economic depression was all ready upon the country. The country was all ready in war and we had zero health care. I’m not saying he is perfect, but he does deserve a break”. From that one paragraph I received e-mails and letters calling me naive and socialistic. One simple-minded idiot said he lost all respect he had for me and actually called me a pinhead and a jackass. FYI, I also received three e-mails that agreed with me. Look, I am not a Obama lover .... I am so pissed at our country I could scream! This administration has not done a fraction of the things they promised to do. I cannot remember a more difficult economic time and the great “bailout plan” was a complete joke! It’s impossible to get a loan and if you are thinking of refinancing your property ... good luck! War-wise, I think the country was lied to as we are now sending numerous troops to Afghanistan after we were told troops were going to start coming home. That said, I still think it’s hard to blame everything on Obama. This country needs more than a Democrate -vs- Republican battlefield. If a Republican comes up with a fantastic idea ... it will

be shot-down by the Democtates ... and visa versa. Maybe it’s time for a strong, united, third party that can find the middle ground we so badly need. I think George W. Bush sucked as a President and guess what? I think Obama has sucked in his first year as well! Let’s hope that things can start getting better and people can start getting jobs, paying their bills and saving for their retirements. This should be the number one thing on all politicans agendas! Moving onto to other “Things That Piss Me Off”, have you had to renew your license tags recently? If you haven’t you are in for a shock as prices have skyrocketed! Here at Full Throttle, we have three vechiles, three motorcycles and three trailers that need to be renewed. Last year we paid around $230 .... this year the same tags cost us over $400! Come on, in these difficult economic times did the State of Florida really have to put in this large of an increase? Lastly, I read an article that stated a group of Muslim-American scholars issued a religious ruling that told their faithful not to go through the airport body scanners because they feel the machines violate Islamic rules on nudity. There are now 40 full-body scanners at 19 USA airports with more than 450 yet to be installed. I say this .... if you don’t want to proceed through scanners that can stop people from blowing up airplanes and smuggling weapons onto aircraft then you don’t deserve to fly! Drive your car, take the bus, jump a train or stay home! I realize that not everybody agrees with the way I think and/or my opinions and that’s ok! If we all agreed on everything, life would be boring. If you want to read more of my opionions and rantings .... check out my blog at: http://ThingsThatPissPaulOff.blogspot.com

offenders and/or victims. This will be the most difficult and challenging column to write. Chickie knows that although my column usually features builders and their work, it digs a little deeper beneath the surface of things on a personal level. Chickie is not looking for any sympathy or any pity. She has entrusted me with telling her story publicly with the hope that it will help people coming from all spectrums. I can only hope my writing will measure up to Chickie’s expectations. I am full of gratitude for being the recipient of Chickie’s trust and confidence. It takes great courage from her part to come out about this and I feel a tremendous amount of respect for her because of that. Dad and mom were Italian hippies. Dad was hanging out with the wrong crowd of bikers and mom was a go-go dancer. One of her uncles back then owned what has become one of the most famous rock ‘n roll venues in Los Angeles; “Whiskey Go-Go”. Another uncle of hers drove for Al Capone. Athena has a paralegal degree and gave it all up to start what has truly become her passion; Vagabond Chopper. She is now very happily married to her third husband (Don) who happens to be working as a technician in the shop with her. As she proudly recalls, Don was (still Tom Tobin www.dreamweaverphotography.com is) one of the most sought after technicians in the market. Before working at Vagabond Choppers, Don worked for the celebrity builder Mr. Eddie Trotta. With a grin on her face she tells me it was easy to recruit Don because she could offer him benefits which were impossible for Eddie Trotta to offer Don. Chickie now has three beloved children; Axel, Desiree and Gray. John (her husband number one) was a biker and actually asked Chickie’s dad first if he could take Chickie out for a ride. Chickie would wash and wax John’s bike quite regularly. She once saw something loose on the bike and fixed it. That is when she really got hooked to wrench on choppers. She has since built approximately 20+ custom motorcycles and has been featured on more than one occasion in many reputable media outlets (magazines and production shows). Chickie has appeared on the reality TV shows “Miami Ink,” “Corbin’s Ride On” and “American Thunder.” She is also a member of the Motor Miads, America’s first all-women motorcycling club. Chickie’s philosophy on building bikes or anything in life is “Do it because you love it or get out!”. Nowadays Chickie is working on her Vagabond Chopper Company’s 2010 “Chicks Rule & Boys Drool Tour” (www.chicksruleandboysdrool.com), a traveling showcase dedicated to women motorcycle riders. A new 44-foot event trailer sponsored by Mitchell Motorcycle Transport will be a rolling tribute to women bikers and offer a mix of onsite how-to seminars, fashion shows, book signings and special guest appearances with a feminine flare. The tour officially kicked off during the 2009 “Toys in the Sun Run” with featured guests the Motor Maids, Leslie Kay of Leslie Kay’s Insurance and Jeffrey Phipps of Jeffrey Phipps Custom Saddles. The Chicks Rule & Boys Drool Tour is a traveling display of what is available for women motorcycle riders, from clothing and parts to motorcycles styled with the woman rider in mind. The tour will feature Chickie and her unique hand-crafted custom motorcycles as well as featured special guest appearances www.chicsruleandboysdrool.com

These stats are based on counties with 100,000+ populations. In other words, in Florida there is a “Forcible Sexual Offence” every 49 minutes and a “Forcible Rape” every 1 hour and 28 minutes. The stats show 89,000 annual offences on a National level. So what are we to make of all that and Chickie?? As a father my immediate instinct is to kill the offender no matter what. When I stop to think about it I am not sure that would be the right thing because that is certainly when my child would need her dad the most. I could not do much good from a jail cell. What a wonderful judicial system we have! How

can Chickie have possibly come out of this sane? She tells me it is her faith in God. I did some research on possible counseling resources available; for those who have more faith in human wisdom, you can contact your local FBI agency www.fbi.gov at 202-324-3000. For those who have more faith in a Christian God, you can contact the “National Association of Nouthetic Counselors” www.nan. org at 317-337-9100. Another good resource I found to know the whereabouts of sexual offenders or predators in relation to where you live iswww.floridaoffenderalert.com. That link will provide you with addresses, pictures + crime descriptions. It also offers an automatic email alert when an offender or predator moves in or out of a distance radius you pre-select. Thing is Chickie found comfort in building bikes and no one can deny that. Perhaps being married to Don (a biker and tech) and building choppers is as close to the pure untainted nugget of precious love she felt when her biker dad kicked his then live-in girlfriend out for Chickie to move in? In Chickie’s own words: “I am not less of a person and no one is allowed to rob me of myself. There is no blame or resentment when you are truly a person who loves with everything that you are. Negativity is easy to achieve. To be a positive person in the world takes heart, resolve, determination, patience and love. Love of yourself and those around you allows an internal strength to be an important positive card in the deck of cards we call life.” To reach Night Train: floridanighttrain@verizon.net or Florida Full Throttle Facebook page Mat 11:28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Sincere thanks to my faithful and loyal photographer; Tom Tobin of www.dreamweaverphotography.com

Sometimes Be Thankful For What You Have. Other Times Be Thankful For What You Don’t Have It’s easy to go through the day not thinking about what problems you could have. But when you meet people that do have problems, you thank God for what you don’t have. February 13 was the Hearts for Autism benefit. I met some very nice people that day. I have problems in my life, but I was glad I could do something for the people that do so much for the ones with Autism. They wanted a bike show. So Venom Custom Choppers Bar and Grill put on a bike show with help from DJ Patti MC. It was a cold day and I want to thank the people that did brave the cold and rode in for the show. The winners. Best American D.A. Angelis. Best Metric Bruce Baker. Best Custom George White. And Best of Show Mike Kapsulis. I hope the spelling is right. We also got to meet “Mr. President” former President Bill Clinton lookalike Eddie A. Tyson. There are more people I would love to thank, but I need the space for pictures. So here they are. I have more pictures at www.BikerOrNot.com. Go to my profile TheBigO56. Till next time. Be safe and look out for the bad drivers out there. The Big “O”

Well,This does get to the heart of things! You are a 19 year old kid, you are critically wounded and dying in the jungle in the La Drang valley. November 11, 1965. LZ X-ray, Vietnam. Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own commander has ordered the medivac helicopters to stop coming in. You're lying there, Listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out. Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,ooo miles away, and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day. Then-over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter. You look up to see an unarmed

Huey...it doesn"t seem real because no Medi-vac markings are on it. Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-vac so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway. Even after the Medi-vacs were ordered not to come. He's coming anyway. And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board. Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses. And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!! HE took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out. Medal of Honor recipient, Ed Freeman, died at the age of 80, in Boise Idaho. May God rest his soul. I bet you didn't hear about this hero's passing, but we've sure seen a whole bunch about Michael Jackson and Tiger Woods..... Shame on the American media! I got this over the e-mail and was asked to pass it on, So why not...Goodnight Bozo wherever you are. Bubba...

BURRRRRR! Can you believe this crazy cold weather? Well I don’t know about you, but when the temperature drops like this we really don’t take the bike out much. I keep hoping that the weather will warm up for the ride over to Daytona! We can’t wait we always have such a fun time, meeting new people, seeing all the cool bikes out there. But the best part, at least to me, is watching all the people cut loose and have one hell of a good time! While out delivering magazines last month we started to talking to one of our advertisers Gail DeWitt owner of DMR Trikes, who has been leading the way to organize a charity for disabled riders and all the hard work has finally paid off. The charity AMERICAN NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR BIKERS WITH A DISABILITY is finally up and running. The ANABD is a Registered Charity, open to anyone with an interest in motorcycling. Their main aim is to help disabled people to enjoy independent motorcycling, whether their disability is due to accident, illness or from birth. One of the main ways in which the ANABD helps disabled riders is to design and fund adaptations to bikes and trikes to suit the specific needs of the rider. It is their aim to help with any problems faced by disabled riders due to the nature of their disability. They have memberships available, which consist of all kinds of bikers: able bodied and disabled, male and female, young and old. It also covers the whole range of styles of motorcycles and motorcyclist from sportbikes to scooters, customs to commuters, dirt bikes to cruisers and all forms of competition

motorcyclist. This all costs money and funds are always needed. The ANABD raise these funds not only through memberships and affiliations but also by holding fund raising events, parties, and rallies. A man was sitting reading his papers when his wife hit him round the Head with a frying pan.“What was that for?” the man asked. The wife replied, “That was for the piece of paper with the name Jenny on it that I found in your pants pocket earlier today” , The man then said “When I was at the races last week Jenny was the name of the horse I bet on, that’s all it was.” The wife apologized and went on with the housework. Three days later the husband is watching TV when his wife bashes him on the head with an even bigger frying pan, knocking him unconscious. Upon re-gaining consciousness the man asked why she had hit again. His wife replied, “Because your horse just phoned.” ***************************************** This blonde decides one day that she is sick and tired of all these blonde jokes and how all blondes are perceived as stupid. So, she decides to show her husband that blondes really are smart. While her husband is off at work, she decides that she is going to paint a couple of rooms in the house. The next day, right after her husband leaves for work, she gets down to the task at hand. Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and smells the distinctive smell of paint. He walks into the living room and finds his wife lying on the floor in a pool of sweat. He notices that she is wearing a heavy parka and a leather jacket at the same time. He goes over and asks her if she if OK. She replies yes. He asks what she is doing and she replies that she wanted to prove to him that not all blondes are dumb, and she wanted to do it by painting the house. He then asks her why she has a parka over her leather jacket. She replies that she was reading the directions on the paint can and it said.... “For best results, use two coats.”

A six year old goes to the hospital with her grandmother to visit her Grandpa. When they get to the hospital, she runs ahead of her Grandma and bursts into her Grandpa’s room. “Grandpa, Grandpa,” the little girl says excitedly, “As soon as Grandma comes into the room, make a noise like a frog!” “What?” said her Grandpa. A man had 50 yard line tickets to last “Make a noise like a frog because month’s Super Bowl in Miami. As he sits down, a man comes down and asks if anyone Grandma said that as soon as you croak, we’re all going to Disneyland .” is sitting in the seat next to him. “No,” he says, “The seat is empty.” Kinda brings a tear to your eye don’t it? “This is incredible,” said the man. “Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event in the world, and not use it?” He says, “Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first *********************************************** Super bowl we haven’t been to together since we got married in 1967.” A truck driver was driving along on the free“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. That’s way. A sign comes up that reads, “Low Bridge terrible. But couldn’t you find someone else, Ahead.” Before he knows it, the bridge is right like a friend or ahead of him and he gets stuck under the relative, or even a bridge. Cars are backed up for miles. Finally, a neighbor to take police car comes up. the seat?”.. The man The cop gets out of his car and walks shakes his head. to the truck driver, puts his hands on his hips “No, they’re all at and says, “Got stuck, huh?” the funeral.” The truck driver says, “No, I was delivering this bridge and ran out of gas.” *****************************************

Returning home from work, a blonde was shocked to find her house ransacked and burglarized. She telephoned the police at once and reported the crime. The police dispatcher broadcast the call on the radio, and a K-9 unit, patrolling nearby, was the first to respond. As the K-9 officer approached the house with his dog on a leash, the blonde ran out on the porch, shuddered at the sight of the cop and his dog, then sat down on the steps. Putting her face in her hands, she moaned, ‘I come home to find all my possessions stolen. I call the police for help, and what do they do? They send me a BLIND policeman!’

*********************************************** A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. “Human beings are the only animals that stutter” she Tells them. A little girl raises her hand. “I had a kitty-cat who stuttered.” The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become, went ahead and asked the girl to describe the incident. “Well,” she began, “I was in the back yard with my kitty and the Rottweiler that lives next door got a running start and before we knew it, he jumped over the fence into our yard!” “That must’ve been scary,” said the teacher. “It sure was,” said the little girl.”My kitty raised her back, went Sssss, Sssss, Sssss’ and before she could say ‘Shoot,’ the Rottweiler ate her!’

Where’s My Gun!!?? Say What ???? Agents and officers of the US Department of Homeland Security reported 289 of their hand guns and rifles were either lost or stolen from 2005 to 2008! The majority of these guns were lost by employees outside of work via car thefts, home break-ins or by agents placing them in truck beds and they fell off as they drove Toyota or bust!!! away. This news is shocking and I hope First it was sticky gas pedals, then it was the brake if an agent lost his/ system now it’s a steering problem at high speeds .... her weapon they car manufacturer Toyota is having all kinds of problems were severely and it seems like there is a different recall happening reprimanded! every week. Is it me or when Toyotas were exclusively made overseas they never seemed to have any problems? Toyota had approximately 100 complaints on the 1.3-million Corollas they made in 2009-2010, yet the company is taking them seriously. The company seems to be serious in fixing any and all problems, but how many more recalls will we have?

Mona Lisa Love’s The Fry’s Do you think the American way of life has conquered the world? Well here are a few tasty items that show you how “Made in America” still means something .... A) you can eat KFC Chicken near Tiananmen Square. This is the world’s largest KFC location at 12,000 square feet .... B) If you are visiting the Great Pyramid of Giza you can see it with a piece of Pizza Hut Pizza in your hands as the restaurant sits just steps away from the great pyramid .... C) The Golden Arches opened last December in Le Carrousel du Louvre, an underground approach to the home of the Mona Lisa. I wonder if she likes the fries as much as we do?

TIA - #3 Tampa International Airport was ranked the third best airport in the country by JD Power and Associates last month. Travelers gave TIA top ratings for terminals and baggage claim facilities among midsized airports (those handling between 10-million and 30-million passengers annually). The airport received second best ratings for check-in counters and security screening and top scores for clean terminals and rest rooms. Kansas City International and Portland (Oregon) International claimed the top two spots in the survey.

Too FAT TO FLY??? Hollywood director Kevin Smith was tossed off a Southwest Airlines flight from Oakland to Burbank, California last month because he was too fat! He originally purchased two side-by-side seats but when he was bumped to an earlier flight, only one seat was available. After allowing Smith to board the aircraft, the flight crew decided he posed a “safety concern” and sent him back to the terminal. Smith contends he fits between the two arm rests and that is within Southwest’s single seat regulations. Smith has over 1.6-million people that follow his Twitter account and news of this story has swamped the internet!

March Madness I love the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament. I’m not a huge college basketball fan but this tournament is unlike anything else in sports. The opportunity for small schools to play the top schools in the nation is fun to watch. Every year there is a Ball State or Fairfield upsetting a Kentucky or Georgetown! If you fill out tournament brackets here are a few tips to remember .... 1) since 1979 (when rankings started) no team seeded lower than #11 has made it to the Final Four .... 2) last year was the only time the Final Four was made up of all #1 seeds .... 3) the #12 seed knocks out the #5 seed 32% of the time and the #11 seed outs the #6 seed 31% of the time, so don’t be afraid to pick a few upsets!

After being in the cold snowy weather in Northern Michigan I feel like I"m still there just minus the snow! However it does feel good to know you can put on extra clothes and still ride here in SW Fl.. I feel like I must be home before the sun goes down. I decided to do just that as I headed over to the" 10th Annual Church Crash" to defend my title for second place in the women's slo race, there was a good crowd considering the cold and the competition was a blast! A good time was had and I will be back next year trying to get my second place back.By now Iam feeling brave to go to Ft. Myers Bike night with just one little patch of rain on the radar.I was sure this would pass but just as the party started happening the rain came. After the down pour I started for home only to ride over the Edison bridge and the roads were dry the rest of the way home! Feb 13th Black Widow HD in Pt Charlotte held there 5th anniversary party. despite the cool weather it was well attended with a lot of vendors ,food and fun activities. They held a silent auction with a lot of great HD goodies and I left saying I should have just bid five dollars more. I passed up the after party at Chubbys as the sun was going down quickly. Valentines Day found the Ft.Myers/Cape Coral Chrome Diva's doing the card stops for the Second Annual "Mama Sez" Poker run, by 9:30 a.m it still was not 40 degrees but bikers were pulling into the Starting location bundled up and ready to ride for a great cause! Ending at Victory Lane in N.Ft Myers a raffle and silent auction was held with the assistance of The Alternative MC of Pt. Char. The sun was up but NDN Stella stayed in the garage! We are hoping for warmer weather as we are putting together our "Second Annual Hooters ans Scooters" on March 14th to benefit the Susan G Komen Foundation. for breast cancer. We will be starting at Hooters in Ft.Myers and all stops will be at other area Hooters. If you are going to Daytona, I hope you all have a fun and safe trip! Stay warm And Ride Safe! Donta

With the proliferation of the point and shoot digital camera, everyone seems to be an aspiring photographer. Since capturing a photo digitally gives you instant feedback it seems that all you have to do is keep shooting until you get the photo your looking for. While this is certainly a method that can and often does lead to an acceptable photo, it can also be a big waste of time and your models patience. If you stay in a programmed mode sometimes indicated by the letter “P” on the camera’s mode selector knob you are not in control of the camera… it’s controlling you.

The express purpose of this column is to make you a better biker photographer. This is one of the best things I can teach you… stop using the “P”rogram mode and you will become a better photographer. Lets take a look at controlling the look of the photo by selecting “A”perture mode. One aspect of a DSLR (DIGITAL SINGLE LENS REFLEX) camera’s operation, AND A GREAT MANY POINT AND SHOOT DIGITAL CAMERAS is the ability to select a mode known as “Aperture Priority.“ You can usually select that mode by a knob on the top of most of these types of cameras by rotating the knob until the “A” (for aperture) lines up with an index mark. If your shooting with a digital camera that has interchangeable lenses once you select the “A” mode you can rotate the lens ring that controls aperture opening. What do you get in this mode? No, it’s not the automatic mode! The answer is simple. By selecting this mode you can control the depth of your focus manually, (known as controlling Depth of Field.) In the four-photo sequence that follows I show Model “Kairee,” on Main Street in Daytona Beach. Look closely at the background of all four photos. Three of the four clearly reveal the background in practical focus revealing the details of the buildings behind her. One photo however, shows Kairee in sharp focus with the background out of focus, this was done by selecting a larger aperture, (indicated by a smaller number ƒ stop number.) Simply put, If you want to blur the background select a small number ƒ stop. Here is a common sequence of ƒ stop numbers (from widest lens opening – smallest depth of field/focus to smallest lens opening which yields greatest depth of field/focus) that control the aperture (opening size of the modern camera lens:) SMALLEST DEPTH PF FIELD - ƒ1.4, ƒ2.0, ƒ2.8, ƒ4.0, ƒ5.6, ƒ8.0, ƒ11, ƒ16, ƒ22 - GREATEST DEPTH OF FIELD. Three of the photos in the gallery were shot at ƒ16 – a small lens opening (large depth of field and area of focus.) One of the photos was shot at ƒ2.8- large lens opening. See if you can pick out the one shot at ƒ2.8. (Hint it’s the one with the blurred background.) Notice the different poses Kairee uses around the bike. Remember every time you pick up the camera there are millions of possible shots you can create just by moving the camera. Now that you can control depth of field in the “A”perture mode you can add a few million more possibilities. Until next time… Stay in Focus! Every day in the Sunshine State hundreds, if not thousands of people are riding their motorcycles enjoying the breeze in their face and the feeling of freedom. Florida offers hundreds of miles of great roadways and almost 12 full months of beautiful weather for our residents and visitors to get on a bike and cruise for hours. Although it may sound harsh saying some motorcyclists take too much for granted, but many will say it’s true: Most don’t give a thought of what penalties a car/truck driver will face if they are involved in an accident with a motorcycle. When it happens to someone the motorcyclists know, they are outraged at the slap on the wrist the offending driver receives, if anything at all. Most never considered if their health care plan would cover them if they got hurt while on their bike, yet many are shocked when the health insurance they’ve been paying into for years shows them the “fine print” saying that injuries sustained while on a motorcycle are not a covered event. Most enjoy the freedom of choice they are allowed in Florida every time they hop on their scoot… “Do I want to wear a helmet today?” There are still thousands of bikers that don’t give it a second thought that just a decade ago they didn’t have that choice. Most have heard the 2008 HB137 and the stricter sanctions it applied to overly excessive speeding and other motor vehicle infractions. Many still don’t realize that originally this Bill only applied to motorcycles. Freedom Fighters got involved and what became final law was not the original 30+ MPH over the limit, but now 50+ MPH. The over thousands of dollars of fines related to vertical license plates was stricken from this Bill. CONFISCATION OF YOUR MOTORCYCLES WAS STRICKEN FROM THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE. These changes didn’t happen on their own. Many may think it’s a great thing for car drivers to see the “Look Twice, Save A Life” ABATE of Florida, Inc. billboard when they ride into Florida along I95 or drive through Pensacola, but some never give it a thought of how it was paid for. Those involved know that ABATE of Florida, Inc, a 501 C(4) non-profit organization, has been awarded a million dollars over the past few years to help teach and remind drivers to always look out for motorcycles. I know for a fact that at least 7,500+ bikers think of these issues. They are the largest group of Freedom Fighters in Florida, fighting for motorcyclists’ rights. Yes, there are others that “walk the line” as well, but the members of ABATE of Florida, Inc. have put together the largest Motorcycle Rights Organization in Florida’s history. We’re the ones that offer you the opportunity to ride your motorcycle right up to the front steps of the Governor’s office to tell your elected officials what you want them to fight for and against. No, not up to a parking lot nearby, but right onto the grounds, up the sidewalks, and park your scoot next to the Florida Capitol’s steps. What I’m talking about is ABATE of Florida’s 15th Annual Freedom Rights Rally April 19, 2010. Sure the local Tea Parties have been letting your legislators know that the general citizenry is unhappy with the way things are going, but if you ride, if you used to ride, and even if you don’t, why not join us in helping make sure all motorcyclists’ rights are being constantly fought for here in Florida? There’s nothing like seeing the public’s faces as hundreds and hundreds of motorcycles rumble up the hill on Apalachee Pkwy and drive right up onto the Florida Capitol Grounds. Make your plans now. Be there with us. Dave “Lockdown” Rich State PR/Communications Trustee, ABATE of Florida, Inc. It sounds like thunder in Daytona, so we all know what that means. Bike Week is here and the parties are on. Man, Feb. came and went so fast, but I got some good riding in with some good friends. We started out in Daytona where of course that morning everybody was waiting on me. Sometimes I feel like I can get lost on a dead end road. After we hooked up that morning we headed over to Ma Barkers. It's about 100 mile ride. There’s nothing like 15-20 bikes just out for a nice ride. It was Pete's birthday, so we all celebrated by taking a ride. Ma Parker's is a great little bar where the Barker family had their world famous shootout. There's lots

of back roads and scenic riding. Now I know during Bike Week I can't get in a lot of riding. Most my time will be spent at the World Famous Iron Horse Saloon. Don't forget about a couple of our Full Throttle events. This year our Let's Get Crazy Party will be held Friday night the 5th of March at Julian's Restaurant where they have a separate bar just for the fun we'll have. They'll be plenty of drinks, partying, and games, with lots of give-aways too. Also, on Thursday don't miss the Old School Chopper Show. There are usually 100+ bikes in the show and lots of hunnies running around all day. We also have our booths set up at J&P Cycles, and on Beach St. Hope to see you in Daytona. Stop by the tent and say hi! Or just to share a prayer. Till next time ride sober and safe. PeeWee
