Can you believe it’s June all ready? That means half of 2010 is over and the summer is here! One of my favorite events that we do here at Full Throttle takes place this month ... The 13th Annual Sore Ass Run will be held on June 12 & 13. The run will start at Harley-Davidson in New Port Richey and end up in Vero Beach. We have all ready filled the original rooms we booked at the Holiday Inn in Vero Beach and we added additional rooms to our block. This is not your normal poker run as it seems we always run into love bugs and we always get wet somewhere along the way! The idea of riding all day with friends and strangers (no matter what Mother Nature throws at you) ... staying up late partying with those same people .... seeing everybody wearing the same Sore Ass t-shirt .... and riding home the next day is what being a motorcycle enthusiasts is all about. The stories and memories of this run last forever and if you are able, you should join us on June 13th!! There are numerous other events that take place this month including: The free beer, free pig roast, free vendor space, free bike show, free admission and free parking event that will take place at LA Hangout on June 13th sponsored by Preachers Cycle Promotions. June 6th is the date for the 4th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Poker Run at QS&L and that is also the date for the Grand Opening Party of CrabBQ in St.Petersburg. Please look at our Cruisin Calendars to view all the events in every area! I want to thank everybody who participated and/or donated to Phil Serletic at the benefit that took place on May 8th at Grass Flats We raised a few bucks for Phil and I know he deeply appreciated everything! I also want to send out healing vibes to Full Throttle’s Bubba who had a stroke last month ... get well soon buddy we love ya! On the personal side of things, I want to wish my son Paul Michael a very happy birthday on June 3 and my granddaughter Ashlynn a happy birthday on 6/27. B-day wishes also go out to Big Al who turns another year older on 6/21. I also want to wish Tracy a Happy Anniversary on 6/8 !!! Don’t forget to wish your Dad a Happy Father’s Day on 6/20 ... I love ya Pop! Have a great month and thanks for reading Full Throttle Magazine!

Here comes the sun, and it’s HOT! Summer time in Florida means hot beautiful days until 3-4pm, a quick shower in the afternoon, then muggy until the sun sets…am I right!? But we love it and wouldn’t live anywhere else. Try and make sure you have your rain gear with you in your saddle bags or wait out the rain when it starts. It usually only last a little while and dries up quickly. Be careful out there, when it rains the oils in the road creep up and make the road and the painted lines on the road very slick and dangerous. It’s better to chill for a few minutes, grab a nice cold beverage, and wait it out. June, July and August doesn’t always have a ton of events because of the rain every day, but we are going to try and do all we can in these great summer months. We have our Soaked and Sore Ass Run on June 12th, at press time there are a bunch of rooms already booked and more have been added to our block so call and get your rooms today! We are also looking at the 5 Bridge Run to be on July 18th. This is a great ride that goes over the 5 major bridges in the Tampa Bay Area. One other event we are looking at bringing back is the Tuck-A-Buck Run…. You can imagine what this run will be all about. Keep watching the website and the magazine for more information on this great event that will take place in Pinellas and Pasco Counties. WHY ADVERTISE YOUR EVENT IN FULL THROTTLE MAGAZINE? If you are putting on an event no matter if it is a free event, a benefit for someone who needs money, a poker run, bike night, a charity ride or just a fun run make sure you allow a portion of the funds you get from your sponsors to ADVERTISE in Full Throttle Magazine. The social networking sights are only so good, but remember there are still a lot of people who do not go to the web to look for where to go every weekend. A quarter page ad only costs $200 from any rep or if you pick up the phone and call the office. We will even help lay out the ad so you can use it for the social networking sites if you are going to do your own promotion as well! We will help make your event a success! Call Full Throttle Magazine the next time you have an event and need to get the word out to the motorcycle industry. I would like to wish my brother P.M.C. happy 32nd birthday on June 3rd and a super special happy birthday to my youngest daughter, Ashlynn who turns 5 on June 27th. What do you think about the calendar in the past two issues? You can meet Marissa “this month’s calendar model” at Quaker Steak and Lube on June 16th from 6pm till 9pm. She will be signing autographs and taking pictures with you all evening. We hope to see you there and remember, don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon! One last thing, I have a chance to go to Sturgis this year and your business can help me! Ask me how next time you see me! It’s well worth it! And one last thing! Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there, Expecially my Dad (Paul Allen) and Grandfather (Pop's - Paul Sr.) Love you guys!

I trust that every one had a SAFE and ENJOYABLE MEMORIAL DAY. It really shows your patriotism during these trying times. With all of the bombings that are taking place in other parts of the world, stop for a moment and remember all of the service men and women protecting our freedoms. Including the picnics and other gatherings that they missed so that we can be FREE. I want to take a moment to let everyone know that on June 29th I will be in BAY PINES VA having a total knee replacement. This will curtail a lot of my summer activities. I won't be laying around doing nothing as I will be working on our Toy Run that will take place on December 12, 2010. I will also be doing my article and keeping everyone updated on my progress. Until next month, REMEMBER TO RIDE SAFE NO MATTER WHAT YOU RIDE. - KEELHAULER

The Diva Angels have been quite busy as usual. We attended the Leesburg Bike Fest, Run with the Big Dogs Poker Run, Credit Union Cruise for Kids and the Women Bikers Conference to name a few. We participated in the Suncoast Brotherhood Annual Chili Extravaganza where Diva Trish won First Place in the "HOT" Chili category. Though there were a lot of variations of chili at the cookoff Trish's was by far the best. Way to go Trish!! While we enjoy participating in these events we also feel that we should "give back" to our community by doing sweat equity. Some of the events where we volunteered were The Tampa Bay Blues Fest, The Florida Wine Fest and the Oldsmar Freedom Fest and we had a wonderful time at each of these events! We also are continuing our fundraising efforts for Blooming Place For Kids. As I noted in the April article, this organization works with the children's services network to identify neglected, abused and at-risk children and to provide them with an unforgettable summer camping experience. Their camp is set to re-open for the season in July. For more information please go to www. bloomingplaceforkids.org. As most of you know, we set up the Diva tent on the third Bike Night of the month at Quaker Steak and Lube. This month we are asking for donations of backpacks and school supplies for the Blooming Place. Please come out and show your support for this wonderful organization. May was a very special month for us as well. The Diva Angels held our Five Year Anniversary National

Conference on May 22nd at the American Legion Post 138. The event was attended by not only the Tampa Bay Chapter but all of our sister chapters as well. The food was great, the music was wonderful and the camaraderie with our "sisters" was unforgettable! We had so much fun and can't wait for the next opportunity for all of us to get together! If you are interested in joining our group, the Tampa Bay Chapter meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 at The Wing House in Pinellas Park. For more information about the Tampa Bay Diva Angels and our calendar of events, please go www.tampadivaangels.com. Come ride with us!

The 35th President.........Honor and Duty and Motor Units............ It amazes even me sometimes what path some of my motorcycles take me down when trying to write something that you, my history hungry readers would find interesting and maybe at the least entertaining. So there I sat in my bike barn cleaning my 1974 Moto Guzzi Eldorado LAPD bike, and as I polished the chrome siren I thought of the pursuits this bike may have been in and the law and order it helped enforce. Los Angeles had some high profile events going on in 1974 when my bike entered service. Patty Hearst had been kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army and six SLA members had been killed in a shoot out with LAPD. The L.A. Dodgers would win the NL West and John Lennon and Paul McCartney did their first recordings together since the beatles broke up in 1970 in the famous "Lost Weekend" that Lennon spent in L.A. But the biggest story would be the return of the resigned (and soon pardoned) President Richard M. Nixon, who would be escorted by no less than 24 LAPD motor units to his home in San Clemente, Calif. And I thought to myself, was my original LAPD motor unit part of any of this significant history in its service life? Chasing Patty Hearst, escorting the Dodgers bus? or as I like to think, part of the ex president's motorcade taking Nixon on that long lonely ride home and into history. You see the first images of police motorcycles I remember as a kid were JFK's motorcades. Kennedy was really the nation's first "television" president and he knew its value. He was also a very handsome and charismatic leader who knew the crowds loved to see him and that, televisions were in fact flying off the shelves and into voters homes. It was a changing time in America. Crowds at government events were getting bigger, more divided and dangerous. The blue 1961 Lincoln limousine Kennedy rode in would be the last unarmored and unreinforced convertible Presidential limousine ever made. After JFK's death, it became a very different time in America, it suddenly became much more important to protect the President then to see him. And this my friends is where the local law enforcement motor units come into play. For it falls to the local police departments to assist the Secret Service in protecting a Presidential motorcade, and still to this day the motor unit makes up more than half of the vehicles involved in one.

It was 4 days before JFK would be assassinated at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas, the date was Nov. 18th. 1963 when President John Fitzgerald Kennedy's plane would touch down at Mac Dill Air Force Base. He and General Paul D. Adams would sit in the very same Lincoln that he and his wife Jackie would be in on that fateful day in Dallas. The motorcades in Texas needed Jackie. For you see they made an amazingly photogenic couple and the campaign needed the Texas voter. The Tampa motorcade route would begin after a speech at Al Lopez Field. It went south on Dale Mabry then turned east and ran 5 miles up Grand Central Avenue to Franklin Street. Winded it's way around to Howard Avenue and stopped at the Fort Homer Hesterley Armory where he would deliver another speech. Then back to Grand Central Avenue and west to the International Inn (now the InterContinental). After another 20 minute speech back to Grand Central Avenue and then return to MacDill. In JFK's entire presidency this would be his second longest motorcade route, eclipsed only by his famous Berlin, Germany trip. On this entire route JFK was guarded front, back and all sides by the Tampa Police Department Motor Officers, 34 motor units in all on that sunny day in November. I recently talked with retired TPD motor officer Russell Groover (who with officer Ronald Barber) were chosen to be the two motor units closest to JFK. The FBI and Tampa Police started recieving threats against the President two weeks before his landing. Two days before the President's arrival when asked by the Secret Service "If anyone breaks through this perimeter you are to take them out. How would you do this?" Without thinking, officer Groover said "I'd hit them with my motorcycle". With hands needed to operate the motor unit and the possibility of a stray bullet into the crowd, it was the correct answer. Officer Barber agreed and they had their two "lead" men to the left and right of our 35th President. Officer Groover drew a detailed diagram of the TPD motor unit deployment. It was a very closely spaced diamond of 7 units around JFK's car and the remaining 23 boxing in that formation. He also commented that in every multi story building along the motorcade there were police or military stationed on every floor and the roof. At Mac Dill, president Kennedy thanked every officer personally and with a handshake, for Tampa did its job well and JFK boarded Air Force One without incident. The motor units are of immense value in a motorcade due to narrow road lanes and crowded conditions. They can pass, drop back and are a great tool to "push" back an overzealous crowd from the Presidential cars in such limited space. While moving the motorcade along at about 11 mph. And when bracketing JFK's Presidential limo, they would block dangerous sight lines. I don't think there's a shot of Kennedy's limo in most motorcades that you can't see 2 or more motor units.

Photo: Tony Zappone Motor Officer Russell Groover to right of JFK limo in photo

It would be on Nov. 29th. 1963 LIFE Magazine would release 30 still frames of the famed Zapruder film and they would be continuously in the public eye until 1975 when a little known TV host Geraldo Rivera would make history with the first ever network showing of the 26.6 second Zapruder film in its entirety. I was 13 then and the only thing I noticed besides JFKs blue limo in this film is the DPD motor units. You can't look at the Zapruder, Nix or Willis photos or film or the Tampa

motorcade stills of local media legend Tony Zappone and not see a Dallas or Tampa motor unit near President Kennedy. But, on that Black Friday Nov. 22nd 1963, the 22 motor officers of the Dallas Police Department would be front and center of so many different events that it could and does fill books. In the last moments of the President's life you see DPD motor units leading JFK around the 120 degree left turn towards the Texas School Book Depository, then the 4 motor units behind him, then chaos. It would be DPD motor officer B.W. Hargis who would lay his bike down in a rush to the infamous "grassy knoll"with his service revolver drawn. It would be a DPD motor officer Marion L. Baker who would rush to the Texas School Book Depository and find Lee Harvey Oswald on the second floor only to have Oswald's supervisor vouch for him as an employee there, and amid all the confusion the officer would continue to the sixth floor looking for the shooter. And it would be motor officer Pic of me and Retired Motor Officer Russell Groover H.B. McClain who at Parkland Hospital would get a grief at Brooksville FL. May 24th 2010 stricken Jackie Kennedy to release her protective shield of her husband and let doctors remove him from the back but it's the most highly visible service they perform and a seat of the limo and he then would escort her into the dangerous one too. Just in the past few years a motor officer emergency room. Even after that day they would figure escorting President Bush and most recently Hillary Clinton into the books, investigations and commission reports. (in Dallas) were killed in the line of duty. But like mounted A quote from DPD motor officer B.J.Martin "They told us officers and K9 units they have a different connection and out at Love Field right after Kennedy's plane landed... Well a different mind set. Motor officers, like us, are exposed to while Kennedy was out shaking hands with all the well the same dangers. The left turners, rain, snow and wind wishers at the airport Johnson's Secret Service people and they basically ride bikes just like ours. But now, due came over to the motorcycle cops and gave a bunch of to budget problems and cut backs, they are becoming an instructions. They ordered us into the damdest escort endangered occupation in all but the biggest cities. What is formation I'd ever seen. Ordinarily, you bracket the car written here are just some facts about how 2 different mowith four motorcycles, one on each fender, but this torcades being protected by motor officers all did their duty, time, they told the four of us assigned to the President's carried out what they were instructed to do (right or wrong) car there would be no forward escorts. We were to stay and put their lives on the line. Just as all police whether on 2 well back and not let ourselves get ahead of the car's rear wheels, 4 wheels or 4 legs wheels under any do every day in cities big circumstances. I'd and small. To all of you Photo: Tony Zappone President Kennedy departing Mac Dill never heard of a officers out there, thank TPD Motor officers foreground formation like that, you and be safe. Oh by much less riden in the way, remember that one, but they said road JFK put so many they wanted to let miles on that 18th. day of the crowds have an November, Grand Central unrestricted view Avenue? Police DepartBy Robert De Moss ments motorcycle deployment plan prevented the use of maximim possible security precautions. Surprisingly, the I would like to thank Tony Zappone of Tampa who at age 16 security measure used in the prior motorcades during same took the pictures of JFKs motorcade in Tampa and has an Texas visit 11/21/63 shows the deployment of motorcycles amazing photo and journalistic career. I urge you to read in Dallas may have been uniquely insecure, and goes on to his Wikipedia bio. and go to his link which contains his story cite the very secure formations at Tampa, San Antonio and and all photos of JFK's Tampa visit "JFK, As I remember him" Fort Worth on the days leading up to Dallas. Also a big thank you you to know this article isn't written to stir up conspiracies to retired motor officer Russell Groover of Brooksville who or create government mistrust, this is a motorcycle article besides protecting Tampa and training TPD officers for 15 and is not a place for my religion or politics or "theories". years was located on JFKs left rear fender on that 18th day No it's to show the danger motor units and the officers face of November escorting the President's motorcade. Hi All! I will start at the end of April with Leesburg Bike Fest. I stayed at the ABATE Of Florida Seminole County Chapter Campground. There was great food, good vendors for shopping and 24hr security. Camp fire party at night and good hot showers for you. I would like to thank some people - Rande Zuclich and Frank Moore for helping JR and I with my camping trailer so I can get home from the weekend. If you are looking for a place to camp for Leesburg next year. It is at Main Street Campground, 2770 East Richey Rd from the event 1.5 miles to downtown just off West Main St. I just got done with the Benefit for a Good friend or I will say my brother Phil Serletic. It went well … The Suncoast Brotherhood 20th Chili cook off was good time and the chili is rated at mild and medium and hot. I put my chili in the medium class and I won the class.

1 - Do you have any phobias? Not really. I've been 120 feet under the water and jumped out of a plane at 13,500 feet. I'm not a big fan of snakes but I'm not over come by them. I guess my biggest fear is being burned to death. 2 - If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do? The Ringmaster of course!! 3 – What is your favorite event you host at Biff Burgers? Without a doubt it is our Toys for Tots events. We are very proud of what we do for the kids here at Biff Burger. We were just told about a month ago that we were #1 in the Country again this past Christmas for Toys for Tots donations by an independent, That makes 3 years in a row!! I am very blessed to have such a great bunch of people that come to Biff on a regular basis and give, give , give!! The Motor Cycle and Classic Car community's are the most giving people in the world. If someone needs help they are always there. Alot of people say how much Biff Burger does for People, and we do, But without the Motor Cycle and Classic Car Community's support it would not happen. That is why those events are so touching to me! 4 - Most hated chore on the household chore list? My wife Trish and I split alot of the chores but she definitly takes care of a larger portion than I do. I like having a perfect yard so I like doing the outside work. I guess the most hated is the the dog poop detail!! 5 - Name 1 thing you miss about being a kid. Having no responsibility!! That would be awesome. Getting out of bed without hurting would be pretty cool too! 6 - What extremely difficult life situation have you overcome and how did you do it? I guess its got to be when my wife Trish and I were having some troubles. Overcoming it was the easy part. It's all about what kind of person you want to be. To me, my family means everything and it took a little wake up call to realize that but everything is great now. I'm very lucky to have such a great woman in my life. 7 - What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? Wow, There are so many. Its got to be the time I had toilet paper stuck in my pants going out of Biff Burger. I ended up taking the whole roll in a big long trail thru the dining room and out the front door. I will never live that one down!! 8 - Which is the funniest prank played on you or played by you? That's an easy one. We like to play pranks on April Fools day. Last year we put my Brother-in Law's house into foreclosure. We took his furniture out, had the power shut off and had all the notices posted all over the windows and doors. All this happened while we took them out for dinner. We had lots of help. When we came back Kevin, my brother-in-law noticed immediately that the power was out and then the notices. When he looked thru the window and saw no furniture the look on his face was PRICELESS. I really think if he had a bad heart that would have been it for him. Maybe it was a little over the top. 9 - If you could have 3 wishes granted, what would they be? - A bigger parking lot for Biff Burgers - Enough toys and money to help every child and person that needs help. If every person in the world that can afford to help someone else would, we would all be so much happier. Sometimes it has nothing to do with money but just giving a little of your time. I guarantee it will make you smile and it is contagious so pass it on! - A vacation home in Anguilla (I gotta use one wish for me and my family) LOL 10 - If you HAD to change your name, what would you change it to? Chief Cupcake Of course! Louie Lipshitts has always been a pretty cool name too.

The Bare Buns Bikers that was to be held at Cypress Cove is cancelled but on July 16-18 the Bare Buns Bikers will be at the Sunny Sands Resort in Pearson FL. Go to www.barebunsbiker.com for that and other events. Keep up the good work all the B.B.B. staff! You may have seen me at Leesburg Bike Fest with a young lady with purple hair, she must’ve had her picture taken several hundred times. I saw quite a few cameras as well as a lot of cell phones pointed at her. Her name is Amber and she is from Inverness FL. The Rat’s Hole Bike Show had a great bunch of bikes. My friend Ed Tooley won in two classes. He designs great bikes. Keep up the good work Ed. I hear he has another one to be finished soon!! He also said he may show up at Webster Bike Show this summer. Speaking of the Webster monthly show and swap meet, I saw a truck that caught my eye. It was shinier than a new one the guy was a vendor selling products to make yours look better than new. If you can’t find him ask me. They also have vendors that sew in case you need your zipper fixed or anything else!! I will cut this short as I am heading to South Beach Miami. Now I will tell you about that next month if I have fun. See you soon Lady Red Beard

BENEFIT FOR PHIL SERLETIC RECAP

The motorcycle community stepped up and helped out one of its own last month via a benefit for Phil Serletic. The poker run started at the Ozona Pig and made stops at Hennessey’s, Two Buks, Sun Down Saloon and ended at Grass Flats. Phil is currently going through chemo and radiation therapy for phase 4 cancer. He has been a part of the Full Throttle family for years and we are happy to help him out! The benefit was a huge success and Full Throttle would like to sincerely thank Attorney Fran Haasch, Preachers Cycle Promotions, Probable Cause, Blind Rage, all the stops and everybody who took part in the benefit. Get well soon Phil !!!

BUBBA'S BIKES FOR BADGES

It was a beautiful day and everyone was talking about the great event being held at Jim's Harley-Davidson for Bubba's Bikes For Badges. The event was to raise money for families of fallen and injured police officers. There was a silent auction with AMAZING prizes, a bike show, 50/50 raffle, bikini bike wash by 2001, a dunk tank with bikini girls and a bikini contest that was out of this world. AlI the girls wore custom Bubba Army bikini's and each one was better than the next. This event raised a lot of money for a great cause! This is the second year for this great event and they definetly picked a good venue at Jim's H-D. We are looking forward to doing this event again next year and congrats on being a huge success. See more bikini contest pictures on our facebook fan/like page.

Hello friends, May is such an excellent month for riding. Not to hot not to cold. We were so glad to see the excellent turn out for Phil, at the Grass Flats. Keep your head up man you have a lot of people out here who

care for you! After great debate we bought a new bike from Brandon Harley the middle of May. We traded in our 2007 Street Glide for a 2010 Screaming Eagle Street Glide CVO. We have only had her a little over a week and have already put about 700 miles on her. And as a side note if anyone is thinking about buying a new bike or even refinancing their current one GROW FINANCIAL made this the easiest purchase I ever experienced with excellent rates. You should give them a call. If you’re in the Bradenton area, contact the Lakewood Ranch Branch and ask for Dawn Turgeon. She is awesome! Our only Daughter is Graduating from high school June 2nd, so congratulations Kaitie!!! We love you sooo much and are very proud of you! Kaitie leaves the middle of June to start college at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. So I’m sure we will be making a lot of trips up that way to visit. June 21st is our oldest sons 20th birthday. Happy birthday Drew, Love you! Drew just got his 1st motorcycle last month. He rides a Kawasaki Ninja ZX 6R 636. He has put quite a few miles on it already traveling back and forth to school in Gainesville. Memorial weekend we have a trip planned to ride up to Jacksonville, then on to Savannah, Myrtle Beach and Wrightsville Beach NC. We’ll let you know how it goes. I have never ridden that far in such a short period of time. I believe when we return I will be suffering from SORE ASS SYNDROM. Happy Fathers day Gary we love you! And to all the other fathers out there we wish you each a Happy Fathers Day. Hope you all get to spend time with your kids, enjoy them they grow up so fast! Hope everyone has a great month, have fun and be safe. Tracey and Gary

I urgently needed a few days off work, But I knew the Boss would not allow me to take leave. I thought that maybe if I acted ‘CRAZY’ then he would tell me to take a few days off. So I hung upside down on the ceiling and made funny noises. My co-worker (who’s blonde) asked me what I was doing.. I told her that I was pretending to be a light bulb, So that the boss would think I was ‘CRAZY’And give me a few days off. A few minutes later the boss came into the office and asked ‘What are you doing?’ I told him I was a light bulb. He said, ‘You are clearly stressed out. Go home and recuperate for a couple of days.’ I jumped down and walked out of the office. When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me, the Boss asked her, ..’And where do you think you’re going?’ She said, ‘I’m going home too, I can’t work in the dark!

FAMOUS LAST WORDS………… Quasemoto from the Bell Tower – “Hey, anyone down there know a good chiropractor?’

A Honda rider decided to travel to Europe by cruise ship and managed to secure passage on the same boat as a bunch of Harley riders. Midway through the voyage, the ship sank and the rider wound up in a three-man lifeboat with the ship’s captain and two of the HD riders. The captain announced that someone would have to get out. “We’ll do it right though,” he said. “The three of you will be given a fair test and the loser will jump out.” Everyone agreed, so the captain turned to one of the Harley riders and asked, “What was the largest ocean liner to sink in the past century?” “The Titanic.” “Right,” said the captain. Turning to the other Harley rider, he asked, “How many people were on the Titanic?” He answers, “2463”. “That’s correct,” the captain stated then he turns to the Honda rider and says, “Name them!”

Amelia Earhart before her flight – “Map? I know where I’m going, I don’t need a map!” Lady Godiva on her ride through town – “Last time I take my clothes to that dry cleaners!” Reporter to Mrs. Lincoln after the assassination – “Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?” Van Gogh on how he got the Mona Lisa to smile when he painted her – “I did it with my fly open!” General Custer to his troops – “Not to worry, there are no Indians anywhere around here!”

Psychiatry and Proctology.” The town’s fathers were not too happy with that sign, so they changed it to “Hysterias and Posteriors.” This was not acceptable either, so they changed the sign to “Schizoids and Hemorrhoids.” No go; so they tried “Catatonics and High Colonics.” Thumbs down again, They tried “Manic-depressives and Anal-retentives.” Still not good, so they tried “Minds and Behinds.” Unacceptable again, so they ************************************** tried “Lost Souls and A-- Holes.” Still no go. “Analysis and Anal Cysts”, “Nuts and Butts”, “Freaks and Cheeks” or “Loons and Moons” none of those were acceptable either. So, they finally settled on “Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones, Odds and Ends.” *****************************************************

THInGS TO POnDER……..

If the cops arrest a mime, do they still tell him he has a right to remain silent?

A little pig walked into a bar, ordered a drink and asked where the toilet was. Do vegetarians eat animal crackers? “Just along the corridor,” said the bartender. A woman went to a soda machine. She inserted two quarters and pushed the RED button. She heard some noise, and saw a can of Coke emerge. She then started searching her large purse for some more money. About this time, a guy came up behind her, and waited patiently for her to finish. She located a dollar bill and inserted it into the machine. More noises. She then pressed the Green button, and was rewarded with a can of Sprite. She fumbled with the change in the Return slot, and put it back into the Deposit slot. She then pushed the Orange button, and received a can of Crush. The guy was getting annoyed and asked her, “Are you finished YET?” She looked at him, smiled and replied, “Finished, Nothin’! I’m still winning!”

PEEPING TOM A judge in suburban Philadelphia has said a local school district cannot monitor students with webcams on their school-issued laptops. The schools were using the technology so it could locate missing laptops, but after a student sued the school district over privacy concerns, the judge said they can find other methods to locate the computers. I guess crime does pay!

Last month Lt. Col. William Taylor’s name was added to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Taylor’s name was added after the Pentagon approved his inclusion because his injuries suffered in Vietnam were the direct cause of his death almost 40 years later! The names of 328 soldiers have been added to The Wall since it was dedicated in 1982, bringing the grand total to 58,267. For additional information about the memorial, go to www.thewall-usa.com.

AGE AIN’T NOTHIN’ BUT A NUMBER Let’s see how smart you really are. Here’s a dozen age questions for you to ponder - who’s older: Cher or Mr. T .... 2) Janet Jackson or Tina Fey .... 3) Michael Jordan or Barack Obama .... 4) Sting or Terry Bradshaw .... 5) Tiger Woods or Sandra Bullock .... 6) Betty White or Clint Eastwood .... 7) Ringo Starr or Mick Jagger .... 8) Peyton Manning or Alex Rodriquez .... 9) Lady Gaga or Kevin Jonas ....10) Joe Cocker or George Straight .... 11) Dan Marino or Conan O’Brien .... 12) Jay Leno or Bill Clinton? The correct answers are listed to the right.

CLEAN UP YOUR MESS Ok ... this is just my opinion but BP Oil should be 100% responsible for the clean up of the oil spill that has devastated the Gulf of Mexico. If there was no oil spill, would BP be sharing the profits they would have made from that oil ... I think not! They caused the disaster and they should be 100% responsible for the disaster. I don’t care if the billion-dollar corporation goes bankrupt, they need to fix the problem they created! The petroleum giant is asking for the government to assist with financial aid and that’s just not right in my opinion.

UNPROTECTED I don’t understand how there could be 406 Somali Pirate attacks on ships off the coast of East Africa last year. You mean to tell me no country has a Navy that hunts out these pirate ships? If a ship is attacked and they send out a SOS, there’s no aircraft or ships in the area? These pirates have sized over $100-million and caused an undisclosed number of deaths. Wouldn’t you think these criminals would be hunted down? Aarrrgh .... the Pirate business must be good!

ANSWERS At press time: Cher is 64 and Mr. T is 58 .... Janet Jackson is 44 and Tina Fey is 40 .... MJ is 47 and the President is 48 .... Sting is 58 and Terry Bradshaw is 61 .... Tiger Woods is 34 and Sandra Bullock is 45 .... Betty White is 88 and Clint Eastwood is 80 .... Ringo is 69 and Mick Jagger is 66 .... Peyton is 34 and A-Rod is 36 .... Lady Gaga is 24 and Kevin Jonas is 22 .... Joe Cocker is 66 and George Straight is 58 .... Dan Marino is 48 and Conan is 47 .... Jay Leno is 60 and the former President is 63.

LESSON LEARNED? As long as we are talking about oil, I do not think drilling in the Gulf of Mexico should be allowed. This latest spill is my exact reasoning as these oil hungry companies have no plans in place to correct the possible problems they create. With this latest spill, BP Oil had NO emergency plan to cap the wide open well that spewed thousands of gallons of oil each and every day into the Gulf waters. It’s time to start seriously looking at alternative ways to operate our vehicles and combustible engines. Not only would it be ecologically safer, but we can maybe stop depending on foreign countries as much as we do.

The fate of 2010’s Senate Bill 1918; the "Stiffer Penalties" Bill. As many know, ABATE of Florida, Inc. had a Bill introduced in the recently finished 2010 Florida Legislative Session designed to create a new law establishing penalties for hitting a motorcyclist. Many in FL have heard the tales of a biker getting hit and sometimes killed by a vehicle, and the at-fault driver only receiving an $87 ticket. At ABATE of Florida’s request, FL Representative Greg Evers sponsored Bill 875 in the FL House of Representatives (for the second year in a row) and Senator Dave Aronberg sponsored twin Bill 1918 in the FL Senate. Thanks to Committee Chairpersons Sen. Gardiner, Sen. Dockery, Sen. Crist, Rep. Aubuchon, Rep. Ambler, and Rep. Murzin, both the Senate and House Bills made it through their assigned Committees. In the last House Committee, Rep. Evers decided to help expedite the process and let the House adopt the Senate version. In doing this, Rep. Evers gave up the prestige of passing a Bill with his name on it for the sake of the safety of all motorcyclists in Florida. st

On Wednesday the 21 of April, the Senate version was placed on the Special Order Calendar and on the 23rd it was heard on the Senate Floor. From the 23rd until the 29th it was heard several times on the floor and each time came up against heavy opposition. During this time it had nine different amendments attempted to be attached and the jail time was ultimately stripped from the original language.

One amendment by Sen. Oelrich from the district that covers Alachua County and nearby areas stated that the penalties would ONLY APPLY IF THE MOTORCYCLISTS IS WEARING A HELMET. IF YOU HIT & KILLED A MOTORCYCLIST THAT WAS NOT WEARING A HELMET, THE PENALTIES DID NOT APPLY. There was also talk if the Bill was successful an amendment would be added that would REQUIRE ALL MOTORCYCLISTS TO WEAR A HELMET AGAIN. This would in effect repeal Florida motorcyclists’ right of choice that we now enjoy. It was soon apparent that if the Bill was to be passed the opposition would require some type of helmet amendment.

Therefore, our options were: 1) pass a very weak Bill that had been stripped of all its teeth; 2) let a strong Bill pass that would require helmets to be worn; or 3) let the Bill die and try again next year. Since a very weak Bill was worthless and being forced to wear helmets again was totally unacceptable, the decision was made to let the Bill die and try again next year. We have many elections coming up this fall. Some of the Legislators named above may be up for reelection; some new names may be on your ballots. It’s time to learn about the individuals you want to represent you and your ideals. It’s time to work with ABATE of Florida and elect motorcycle friendly candidates to represent us all in Tallahassee. Hey everyone! Hope you’ve all been able to get out and ride on these beautiful, sunny days! I know I have and am ready to tell you about my next burger adventure. The Fleetwood Diner (Formerly known as Floyd’s), in High Springs is a great place to eat and a good destination ride for anyone looking for some place to go. Let’s face it, I just like to eat and when I tried one of the Fleetwood’s hand-pattied burgers, my taste-buds were not disappointed! The burger was thick, juicy and very tasty. Topped with some lettuce cheese, tomato, onion and bacon this burger hit the spot! At the Fleetwood Diner, they also serve breakfast any time and they have a great variety of items to choose from on their menu. Included on the menu are some great Greek dishes including Gyros (That’s pronounced Yee-Row), Souvlaki and Baklava. They have fries, onion rings shakes and they also serve adult beverages. So when you’re trying to figure out the next place to go, take a look at the Fleetwood Diner in High Springs. Oh and when you stop in, don’t forget to tell them Uncle Buck from Florida’s Full Throttle sent you! The Fleetwood also sponsors a Bike Night every third Tuesday of each month. Fleetwood Diner 615 NW Santa Fe Boulevard High Springs, FL 32643 (386)454-5775 Until next time, ride safe y’all!
