The first 4 months of this year have been so awesome with event and things going on in the motorcycle community! Now is when the hot weather really starts to hit, along with the love bugs. This is the time of the year that Full Throttle focuses on more rides and poker runs rather than the larger scale events. In May we have the tuck-a-buck poker run, June is the Soaked & Sore Ass Poker Run, July is the Christmas in July Poker Run that ends at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and then to the Tampa Yankee’s baseball game, August is Sturgis, September will be our Winghouse 5 bridge poker run with some special surprises then the holiday season begins. We are very excited for the summer here in Florida as the riding is hot but always great! Leesburg Bike Fest was super crazy this year. The weather on Friday had everyone scratching their heads with the lighter turn out, then on Saturday everyone seems to show up more than ever. I do not ever remember the streets and parking being so crazy as they were this year. The event was boasting about the largest 3-day event in the USA and it is hands down. They estimated over 250,000 in attendance over the three-day event and that has to be close if not under the estimated count. Full Throttle Was set up in our normal spot in front of the Library on Main street and we ran out of magazines to hand out by Saturday afternoon, and we brought about 60 bundles with us. We are glad to see that events are getting involved with the social media like Leesburg was with the Instagram, Facebook and twitter pages. Full Throttle di a bunch of live streams while we were there and each one had over 10,000 views! We hope you liked our live streams at events and we will be doing much more of them here in the future at bike nights, events, and advertisers places. We are already start on our Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational for 2017. We will be moving the date back a few weeks to look for better weather and not so close to the holidays and Gasparilla. We are going to be at Quaker Steak and Lube again but the date will be Feb. 17th, 18th, & 19th 2017, Presidents Day weekend. Monday is president’s day. We are looking for Sponsors at this point the start the ball rolling to get more advertising out there for this event and the date change. One of the best parts about our sponsorships is the ad that comes along with it. If you do a sponsorship, we build in an advertisement in the magazine and on our social media along with it so it is not just a one weekend sponsorship. If you are interested please feel free to call my cell and we can discuss your options, 727-919-1743. The earlier you agree to a sponsorship; the more promotion we can give you! Thank you! WANT US TO LIVE STREAM AT YOUR BUSINESS? The new social media craze is live streaming. We can come to your business and live stream on our Facebook page to our 134,000 fans and they can ask questions, talk with you and see how your business runs or what your do. We have advertising packages starting at $100 to stream at your business or location. Please call our offices for more info on advertising and live social media streaming on our Facebook page. I would like to take this time to say Happy Mother’s Day to all the special women in my life that are mothers. Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, Mary Cianci in Toledo, Ohio Love you mama, My step-mom Tracy Allen, my moter in law Monta (Momta), my beautiful wife Tonya Cianci, Love you beautiful, STRAWBERRIES, and my “other” mom/Aunt Debi Cianci. Much love to you all! Have a great month of May and please ride safe and smart. Don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon.

This past month I have met some really wonderful people during the travels of Wall Street Rides during all the bike events. One of the things that stood out in all of the conversations I have had with many of you, is that no very many people truly understood all of their investment accounts or how to protect you and their family financially. You should really know where your money is and at minimum have an understanding of how financial markets work. It can be very overwhelming and I understand that. Most people I talk to just let someone else do the work for them. What you do not know can hurt you. With so much going on with the economy, the political environment and the situation around the world, it is critical you understand who is investing your money, why they are investing in certain areas and wondering where it really is? Do you remember 2008 and how long it has taken to recover from that disaster? Probably not, because we all tend to forget. The majority of people I speak with especially here in Florida don't understand that there are vehicles that can help you shelter your dollars. I was also astounded at how many people do not have a will, power of attorney and or provisions for their children. As a fellow rider, I am here to be your voice of reason. Your family is depending on it and/or at minimum, leave it to your favorite charity. Some people asked me, well how do you know when markets may turn or should I leave it under the mattress or even just as bad the bank earning nothing. With the average rate of inflation over the years running around 3%. Why would you want your money to earn nothing? So what is the answer? If you don’t know or can not tell someone where your money is invested then you need to call me. I would love to sit down with you and explain in simple terms what this all means. I work with individuals like yourself everyday and have for many years. Markets move in cycles and almost without fail they have had corrections about every 7 years. With the up coming presidential election you really need to know more than ever what makes a market move one way or another. It could be a simple statement from a political candidate on a certain subject or news about the global situation. Interest rates have been very low for many years and with the Federal Open Market Committee meeting on a quarterly basis they are looking to start raising rates again, which has a very definitive affect on the average consumer because of the trickledown theory. In other words, if a company has
to pay more for the working capital they borrow to use, then their prices must go up and the stock/bond markets are affected with the ultimate price paid by the average consumer. If you have money in the bank, don’t look to start making better returns on those monies any time soon. The Federal Reserve Open Market Committee is sitting quiet during this political year and it will take a long time to effect savings interest rates when they do begin to raise rates again. Inform yourself, keep your money safe. I explain, explain and explain again. All of your questions are important. If you are working with someone whether it is your advisor, accountant or attorney; ask questions. We can help you work with your other advisors as well, or call us and we can walk you through the maze of information. Hey, I could not repair my motorcycle to save my life. I go to an expert for that and I ask lot of questions because I know I need to be informed. Do that with your investments or your 401k, even your bank accounts. If you don’t understand ask! Every question when it comes to your financial health is important to your future. Did you know that there are so many opportunities that you do not have to pay a fee for? Or that you could get the upside of the markets with downside protection. If you are paying fees that is eroding any gains on your money. Safeguard yourself and arm yourself with knowledge. It is not a secret. I pride myself in making something very complicated, simple to understand. It would be like me taking my Harley to the dealership and them telling me how to repair the engine. Nope, I want to know what the simple part is and can it be fixed. Because I want to be safe on the roads. Ask yourself; do I have another 7 years to regain any losses? If the answer is no call me and I will walk you through all of your options and explain clearly what they are. Knowledge is power: I can help you ride without worrying about whether you are losing the money you worked so hard to earn. I’d like to tell you; I haven't been out to some of the events in the past month because my Dr. took me off some medicines so I haven't been feeling good. I did hear that Leesburg's Bike Fest was very busy and good. Some people came up to the Webster's event to spend time with me and tell me "Hi", and told me about some of the fun and wish I could have been there. If you are ever at the Webster's event stop by to see me and grab a Full Throttle Magazine because I have them out there. An old co-worker is back with us. His name is "Keelhauler" and he is up in the Tallahassee area so make sure you read his story to find out new places in that area to go for bike night.

Hi All... We just got back from Leesburg Bike Fest it was one of the best weekends of fun! If you missed it to bad for you!! You really did miss a great event. Full Throttle magazine had the first ever bike show on a Friday!! The turnout was good and there were some really nice bikes there! It was also great to have so many people come to the booth to find out where the bikes were so they could see the bike show! April sure was busy - the 9th we were at the High Octane Saloon for the Nature Coast Biker Bash where we had an awesome bike show. The next Saturday was spent at downtown Zypherhills for the Music & Motorcycles Bike Show where we had another good bike show!! May will be kind of quite with a events planned so check out the magazine for updates on the happenings of May! Don't forgot to book your room for the Soaked & Sore Ass Run on June 11th-12th ... till next month Live Life to the Fullest and Party your A$$ off... Dew

Well, Summer is here and it is getting hot here in Florida. I had a great time last month in Leesburg and Panama City Beach for both the Leesburg Bikefest and Thunder Beach. Now it’s time to turn our attention to the great month of May. Motorcycle riding weather is here and May is loaded with events from the Annual Tuck-A-Buck poker run, Bike night at Kickin Wingz and loads more. So make sure you check out the Cruisin’ Calendar We had a blast up in Leesburg again this year for the 20th Leesburg Bikefest. Thank 44
you everyone who stopped by the Full Throttle tent to say, Hello to the crew. Then we were off to Beautiful Panama City Beach FL for Thunder Beach Spring Rally. If you have not attended this great event before, no worries, because the Thunder Beach Fall Rally will be held in the month of October, so come on up for the fun. Ride safe everyone and remember Always keep your stick on the ice. MONGO.

The State of Florida has a " Motorcycle Safety Program that "provides education and support for motorcycle riders, trainers, sponsors, local government, law enforcement agencies and emergency services in Florida". They have earmarked the following budgets: Motorcycle Program Evaluation and Data Collection $100,000; Motorcycle Helmet Observation Survey - $100,000; PSA Analysis, Management and Focus Group Testing - $50,000; Motorcycle Education and Injury Prevention in Trauma Centers - $200,000; Safety Motorcycle and Rider Techniques -Osceola County-$20,000; Broward County Motorcycle Safety Enforcement Program -$64,028, just to name a few. Is all of this supposed to offset motorcycle fatalities? It seems that lately, every time you read the paper, IONTB, Facebook ,etc another motorcycle fatality is mentioned. Some weeks there are 6-8 MC related fatalities in one county alone. In Pinellas County, and surrounding areas, we have M.O.M., aka Mother on a Mission, Diane Pearson. Her therapy is Motorcycle Awareness. No fancy budgets, grants, etc given out to this Angel of our Roads. In fact it's just the opposite - she gives out motorcycle awareness on a daily basis, going strong for 10 years now. How did this happen to a mother of 4 from Safety Harbor? May 19, 2005, her son, Gene, was out riding his motorcycle in Tampa. As in typical accident fashion, that left hand turn in front of the motorcycle by a cage driver who didn't even look before pulling out from a stop sign brought her world crashing down. She was taken from home, thinking she was going to the hospital to see Gene, but instead was taken to the accident scene where she had to endure 4 hours on-sight, with her son covered by a tarp-and not even being able to see or hold him, or say goodbye - another statistic for the books. Daily, she relives that scene. Lights Flashing, Tarp, Total Disbelief. Then, one day, she saw something that would change her life, when she was accompanying her daughter to the obstetrician's office for an appointment. That something was a bumper sticker that said "Look Twice, Save a Life - Motorcycles are Everywhere". She decided then and there, that she would make this her mission - passing out these stickers to make every driver aware of motorcyclists . She went home and tracked down the stickers on the internet finding the website started by the parents of Lance Robert Malone who rode the Silent Highway in 1995. She ordered 25 bumper stickers in Purple and White (chosen to match the color or Lance's motorcycle by his parents) for $6.25 from his foundation and distributed them the first day ! That was it.....Mother on a Mission was born. From October 2006 to February 2008, she distributed 10,000 bumper stickers for free to anyone who wanted one, enlisting the help of the DMV and Tax Collector offices in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. She even had her husband, Gene Sr., driving up and down US 19 and distributing them to local businesses and the local drag strips. While she was driving down US 19 one day, the thought about putting her bumper sticker on a billboard crossed her mind. She emailed Clear Channel with her idea and they responded with "when do you want the sign up" - It was placed on US 19 in Clearwater in August 2006 - as a donation! She contacted Yellow Cab and asked if they would put bumper stickers on their taxis - they replied they could not, however, in return, they offered her 15 roof top cab signs with her Slogan in Purple and White for 1 year. From a contact at Yellow Cab, she received 80 Commercials from Mobile Media for 1 year on Tan Talk 1340AM . CBS has donated Billboards, and she has had bus benches emblazoned with her "Look Twice - Save a Life..." slogan. So much
of this comes with a cost - and after starting the Gene Pearson Motorcycle Awareness Foundation www.genepearson.org, her Motorcycle Awareness Campaign grew. 10 years later, she is amazed. She still says she "just gives out bumper stickers". The other day, she was at a red light and in the 3 lanes, each car had her sticker on it, one from Iowa, Kansas and Florida. This brought tears to her eyes! She has mailed stickers to every state in the US, as well as to Australia and Norway!. A friend in Largo mails out a sticker with every parts order shipped. Her UPS man took some to Africa to distribute and made sure all of the taxi drivers in his hometown have one on their taxi. She believes in repetition, the more people see the stickers, the more awareness it brings! Her mission is catching on everywhere! She has had Awareness Commercials at the Gas Pumps at the Exxon Station on 580/Belcher in Dunedin that ran every 6 minutes after writing to Comcast, who donated 1 month of commercials to her foundation. This year, at the Full Throttle Expo in January 2016, she passed out 3000 bumper stickers - the most she has ever distributed at an event (and this didn't include the others in boxes she passed out to everyone else). For her son's birthday, and special occasions i.e. May, Motorcycle Awareness month, CBS donates 1 free month of an LED Board with her slogan. She continues to have her billboard placed throughout the area - however, she has to pay for the billboard vinyls (each vinyl costs $700.00/3mos) and has to sign a contract for 1 year, which includes Clear Channel donating 1 billboard (15k in advertising fees) for 1 year. Her organization cost her $3k out of pocket to establish and took her 6months to get approved back in 2006, but the way her structure is set up, she can't sell anything, and has to submit yearly tax reports to the State of Florida.
In the past, she has received only 1 grant from the American Motorcycle Association. She scours the internet looking for grants, but can't pass the first or second screening questions - due to the structure of her organization, she is a sole proprietor of her foundation, a 501c3/non-profit organization. On lean months when there isn't any funding, she still continues, paying personally for shipping costs, supplies etc....and uses the money tree in her back yard (also known as a credit card!). Only in the past 3 years, has she been asking for people to pay postage for larger quantities of bumper stickers, to help offset expenses. She usually pays the 3 free sticker fees herself. It's not just about the postage. All this doesn't deter her passion for Motorcycle Awareness. She has contacted the DOT years ago and was turned down twice to have the Look Twice... slogan put on the Amber Alert signs, but years later it showed up as "Watch for Motorcycles". She has attended Safety Council meetings and voiced her ideas. Going back the following month or two, she's watched as her ideas are taken from her by larger organizations with more funding, and they displayed all kinds of stickers/supplies that she previously made suggestions about. All this has not deterred her - she remains more committed and determined than ever. She balances her roles of wife, mother , grandmother, employee, motorcycle awareness activist with ease. Her secret to balancing her life is her passion to keep her son's name out there and letting people know to watch for motorcycles, look twice before you pull out onto the road, and, accidents do happen, but they can be avoided if you are cautious and share the road. She will share her story with anyone/everyone who will listen. She is still angry
at the fact: the other driver was not issued a citation or charge in her son's accident because there was "no criminal intent". She has learned to channel that anger into a positive cause - Motorcycle Awareness. She finally has found peace because " you can only go so long without cracking and exploding! This year, she started volunteering at Van Dyke Church on Lakeshore Rd in Lutz for the Grief Share class. She is one of 3 people who helps out during the 13 week course designed to help anyone experiencing loss of a loved one. It took her a long time to move forward. She just couldn't look past the grave, and pretty much just functioned and pretended everything was going to be ok. Finally, she feels she is able to look beyond the grave, with God's help, begin looking up. She is now giving back to others who have experienced the loss of a loved one! Anyone is welcome to attend her Grief Share Classes, as they are non-denominational. As of this year, she hopes to pass the 700,000 mark for bumper stickers distributed. Last year alone, she spent over $700.00 on postage fees. When she orders bumper stickers, she gets a better price with larger quantities and tries to order 100,000 at a time - which costs $900.00 to ship, plus the $8-9K cost for the stickers - coming in 25-30 55lb boxes that she and Gene Sr pick up and bring home, then unload on their own. Her last order was for 70,000 stickers, and she has just 2 boxes left. Diane humbly states her inspiration for the past 10 years are all of the motorcycle riders out there every single day. She states she "feels like their Mom", and "feels like she has to look out for them". "There's nobody with bigger hearts than bikers". She credits Fran Haasch for being a role model because "...she does so much for everybody, not only does she ride, but she is just a super person!" As a woman of deep faith, she credits God because during times of need, someone/something has always been there to help her: a check shows up in the mail, offers for help our in, people truly want to help her. She has stepped out on faith and has been steadfast, never giving up. She does what she can for her Foundation without the means to do it, because her heart tells her to and she does the best she can. She feels her organization should have "gone under" years ago, but 700,000 bumper stickers and 10 years later, she is still here! All this for someone who has never ridden on a motorcycle! She has never even sat on one that wasn't running! Her son, their family's last rider sold his motorcycle two years ago. Her goal for the next 10 years is to "BE ALIVE!!!" Her birthday is May 24th, 2016, and she turns 70 years young!!!! May is a very sad month for her - as Mothers Day, 2005 is when she last saw her son Gene, alive. May is also Motorcycle Awareness Month. She is trying to reach 1 million, as the number of bumper stickers distributed in her son's name, and she is well on her way! She feels that distributing the bumper stickers isn't just a business, it's personal! She hand stamps each and every bumper sticker and considers every stamp a kiss to her son, Gene. When she sees her purple and white, Look Twice - Save a Life - Motorcycles are Everywhere bumper sticker displayed on a vehicle, she feels that it's a kiss from her son to her. All this from a woman who feels that her greatest accomplishment in life is her family/children/grandchildren because without their support, she would never have the ability to go on with the Gene Pearson Motorcycle Awareness Foundation. Please feel free to stop by, pick up a bumper sticker, and say "Thanx!" to Diane Pearson in person at the "Thank You, M.O.M." fundraiser, Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 12pm to 5pm at the Red Tiki Bar, 7361 46th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL, presented by Friends of Diane Pearson along with sponsors: Full Throttle, Fran Haasch, Gotta Havit Insurance, and Lifting Heart Together. All donations/proceeds go directly to the Gene Pearson Motorcycle Awareness Foundation. www.genepearson.org

Ride Smart Florida Promotes “Drink + Ride = Lose” May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month The“Look Twice, Save a Life” messages have been out there for years, and yet, 449 motorcyclists lost their lives in Florida as a result of traffic crashes in 2014. For the families of those 449 motorcyclists, 2014 was a tragic year. As riders, we have to stop placing the majority of blame on motorists and take responsibility for our own riding. In 2014, motorcycle riders were at fault in 61% of motorcycle crashes in Florida that resulted in severe injury or fatality.
Motorcyclist at fault in 61% of crashes
Riding a motorcycle isn’t easy, so if a motorcycle rider’s balance, judgment or coordination is diminished by any alcohol-a ride can end in tragedy. You’re not only putting yourself at risk on the road-you’re risking the lives of other drivers. As we remind motorists to share the road with motorcycles this month (and every month), Ride Smart Florida would like to also remind riders that the consequences of drunk riding are serious and real. Here’s just a sample of what you may have to lose:
Your LIFE • Your BIKE • Your MONEY Your DRIVER LICENSE • Your PRIDE Your FREEDOM
DRINK + RIDE
In 2013, there were 1,897 motorcycle riders killed nationwide in single-vehicle crashes. Of those, 40 percent were impaired at the time of the crash-63 percent were impaired when the crashes occurred on weekend nights.

So you still have not been to Anna Maria Island yet? You’re in the minority! The Island has been packed, hard to learn to ride my new Bike if I can’t get past 2nd gear. I am a pro at 1st . But now the roads are clearing and it’s time to get on my bike venture to Bridge St…from there to the North end is nothing but fun , my favorite is the Ugly Grouper, Freckled Finn and of course the Rod and Reel pier. I need a fishing pole holder for my Rebel then I will be set. But with the tourist brought a few new friends you may recognize and more fun than I allowed to write about! It’s not every day you see Jack Nickelson, unless you live on AMI. Then it’s just another day. One night we played a song on the Jukebox from a famous band whose guitarist was with us…the bartender turned it down and did not believe (or care) it was him. Only in Anna Maria. April was FILLED with Full throttle events , my personal favorite was working the UCF MMA match hosted by professional fighter Jeff Santella at The Charlotte Harbor Convention center .He did a remarkable job. It was a nice surprise to learn the title fight was being fought by a member of the Anna Maria Island Galati Family/ Galati Yacht Sales. This kid who used to run on the on docks and is an insane fisherman is all grown up and won the Title! Thank you Chris Galati for an 52
amazing fight, the back flips and your humble speech after. I’m hooked. I keep asking when I can work another Bike show/MMA match! United cage fights did a top notch job as well. Thank you Jeff Santella, I am the coolest Mom ever to my boys now. Also Full Throttle was invited backstage for “Puddle of Mudd” this month as well; I asked if anyone wanted to go with me, we had to find a MINIVAN for all my friends! Thank you Kyle Shell for the invite and tickets and all the bands rocked, it was an amazing night at Janus Live. As I pack my bag for Leesburg Bikefest, just want to say thank you to Full Throttle Magazine, this has been a blast.

This month I had the pleasure of interviewing the owner of WHALEN POWERSPORTS 1129 Tamiami Trail Port Charlotte, FL 33953 Hours: Monday – Saturday 107pm E-mail: Jared@WhalenPowersports.com www.whalenpowersports.com 855-905-7433 It all started out when two friends began building bikes and tearing them apart in the garage and flipping them. They made some profit on those motorcycles and
hence were born the idea that they wanted to build a dealership - but not just any dealership. They envisioned a place where people could go and buy a bike WITHOUT the greatest of credit. Those two friends are Jared Whalen (37) and Kyle Sutton (26, originally from Detroit, MI).
Yes, it is TRUE… At WHALEN POWERSPORTS, they work with you and get you a bike without your credit score being perfect! At WHALEN POWERSPORTS, they offer financing for people with not so good credit. They work with many lenders, so if you want to ride, go to WHALEN POWERSPORTS! At WHALEN POWERSPORTS, they hand pick every motorcycle. Looking at their inventory, you would think that they’re new… well, mostly. Most of the bikes are 2012-2014 or newer. They go through each and every bike as if it were their own. They double check and triple check to make sure it’s safe to ride. Where do such bikes come from you ask? They travel the Florida countryside (going as far as Miami to Ocala to Daytona to Jacksonville) to find their rides. AND they deliver too! When I was there doing the interview, they had a Harley-Davidson on the trailer going to Orlando to the proud new owner! WHALEN POWERSPORTS is a family owned business. They have been in business for two years, but at this location since December 1, 2015. If things go as planned, they are already looking to move into their OWN shop just a little ways up the road… Not too bad for a company that started out in Venice doing on-line sales! Jared (from Vermont, originally) is inspired by other successful business owners. At WHALEN POWERSPORTS, they carry only the top of the line in motor clothes - Scorpion and Icon (including helmets, gloves, and jackets. They carry only the top of the line in oil and “anything that we put on our bikes, we’ve tried!” says Kyle. As a matter of fact, the whole staff RIDES and is passionate about their job and rides.
58
Cameron (Lead Technician), Sean (detailer), Zack (online sales), Esther (titlework/accounting) and I do sales and marketing along with Jared who also does operations. Starting April 11th, WHALEN POWERSPORTS is going to have their own service department which includes several lifts and state-of-the-art tire machines. It’s in the plans to have their OWN bike night. It’s their hopes to have the bike night monthly and draw bikers from Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, North Port, Cape Coral, Venice, Sarasota… Three things you love? Kyle: Motorcycles, Cars. Hanging out with family and friends. Jared: My children (he has two sons 14 and 9), my business, and MOTORCYCLES! Three things you dis-like: Kyle: Rude people, bad drivers (people texting!) Jared: Conflict and Stress! Best way to reach you? Phone (855) 905-7433 What is your greatest achievement? Kyle: Standing right here! What is your biggest regret? Kyle: Not starting this sooner! What are your future plans? Jared: Continue to grow the business. If you were starting over right now, what would you do differently? NOTHING! Things are working out really well! What was your first bike and overall favorite bike? Kyle: 2005 Suzuki GSX-R600. My dream bike is a BMW S1000RR HP4 Competition or a MV Agusta F3. Jared: Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6 and his dream bike is a 2016 Yamaha R1M. What are you current building? We are building our service department. What is the most common mistake new motorcycle shops make? Kyle: Bad information. Misinterpreting what the bike IS and what it can actually DO. Jared and Kyle would like to thank FULL THROTTLE for coming out here and doing this interview and displaying their bikes! **** Til next issue, Nancy p., Full Throttle rep. Ride Safe, and RIDE WHENEVER YOU CAN!

Leesburg is the best 3-day event in the USA, Hands down! Bikers take over this little sleepy town in the middle of the state and make it our own, WITHOUT ANY ISSUES! Even the cops love us coming into town and appreciate us there! There had to be an estimated 250,000 this year as the streets seemed un-walkable, but shuffleable! The bands were great, the town was friendly, the weather cooperated and Leesburg was a huge success! Full Throttle loves being involved with this spectacular event each and every year and we are already looking forward to next year’s event! Congrats to Joe Shipes, his crew and all who help make this event what it is!

APPLES & ORANGES Well, my 72 loyal readers, I have been away, gone and sorta forgotten but not much has changed, a few more bikes, a few new “hobbies” a few more trophies and a ‘mad as hell attitude about what is going on in our country. But you know on a ride down the beach the other day I saw so much change, as so many of you have to your own little hamlets. Having grown up in St. Pete. Beach and Indian Rocks Beach I remember the days of nothing but pine trees, tiny houses, narrow streets and small bridges but now, well if you can navigate the 10,000 plus cars, you can expect to be stopped by 80 percent of the new 2.2 zillion pedestrian walkways or about “murderized” by the 2 zillion‘pullouts’ from the same amount of businesses and condos that have arose. , theres change all around us my ‘mad as hell’ readers , change indeed but I haven’t changed my 61 devoted readers lost a few pounds , but thats about it , oh and i’m mad as hell. Kinda brings me too something Chief Cupcake , the editor / owner and father of the year candidate, you know the guy that for awhile has been asking yours truly to waste a page of his illustrious publication with my Ramblings. See some things never change. Oh yeah back to what Tony said to me. Something to the effect of “write about what it means to be a biker” but that my well behaved friends has changed in so many ways but not in others its like comparing apples and oranges. I say motorcycling is a real mix of new and old alot like where our country is right now, got your old timers, got your schoolers, the wanna bees and the never was’es, the rich ,the poor and all the riders in between. No not much research in this one my gifted readers ,I guess that is a bit of a change for me. I think bikers of today use their bikes much less for main transportation and I’m sure trailers are a much bigger part of the biking experience of today. Many of the bars have gotten fancier and the bikes have less ‘hands on’ customization and lot more add on store bought. Bike events have grown larger and grander and camping has given away to hotels at rallys, carburerators and drum brakes have given way to bikes that require 3 techs and a sattelite up link to its manufacturing plant to make them go again and the road side fix is rare in this day and age, but my 56 patriotic readers times have changed too and bikers have evolved and adapted to a busier complicated world. Yes what it is to be a biker has changed from the 50ties and 60ties to the here and now my friends and it is a direct cause and effect of motorcyclists and their machines and a thing called evolution . Oh theres some throw backs that are still in the 60ties God bless them all and I can tell you one truth one thing that has not changed in these 100 plus years of motorcycling is the feeling you get on a bike. Its still two wheels , a set of handlebars , some controls and you its Apples and Oranges different but

still the same. Being a biker today is more than deeds and acts , its a state of mind from weekend warrior to hardcore and everything in between so my pals nothing really has changed much? I think some of the ‘original code’ is still alive and well motorcyclists helping others that are stranded , I think even to this day a time now where a biker can be a school teacher, a judge or work at a Subway. I think that all the riders today try to be better to all , to overcome the old image bikers are saddled with from the past. I believe one thing that has changed somewhat is how the bikers give back to the community and their support for charities and causes , just ask Bill Church or Troy Musser and let me tell you if you don’t know who these two hip-cats are , well daddy-o you aint a bikerthats “in the know”. So yes theres been change to our lives, to our machines, our highways and the amount of fun time we are alloted . But my 32 shocked readers its apples and oranges changed but not changed, you dig? Ah but something else that hasn’t changed in 100 plus years is whats seen , whats felt on the skin , in the senses of any biker since the very beginning. As I rode down the changed Gulf Blvd. of my youth with this computer controlled fuel injected modern wonder of space age technology under me my thoughts drifted to my year old at the time 1976 KZ 650 (a true marvel for its day) going down this same old but simpler and less “manmade” road. I completely realized that riding a motorcycle means just as much as it ever did and the passing of time has done nothing to lessen the passion or feeling of being a biker and deep down thats what todays biker , yesterdays biker or the biker of the future is about check some tire pressure put in the best gas you can find sit down on some leather or vinyl , turn the key or jump on the kicker and pick a direction, a destination is purely optional. you see its been the same for a century. All the rest is like comparing an apple to an orange. Well my 27 interested readers the main ingredient in being a biker hasn’t changed, like me it has evolved some but that part of the brain that makes a biker is the same through all the ages, So my cool hip cats thats all I got for ya. Be good out there, play well with others, stay ‘mad as hell” and let’s make America great again. YourBFF MR 600

Dear Tide: I am writing to say what an excellent product you have! I’ve used it all of my married life, as my Mom always told me it was the best. Now that I am in my fifties I find it even better! About a month ago, I spilled some red wine on my new white blouse. My inconsiderate and uncaring husband started to belittle me about how clumsy I was, and generally started becoming a pain in the neck. One thing led to another and somehow I ended up with his blood on my new white blouse! I grabbed my bottle of Tide with bleach alternative, and to my surprise and satisfaction, all of the stains came out! In fact, the stains came out so well the detectives who came by yesterday told me that the DNA tests on my blouse were negative and then my attorney called and said that I was no longer considered a suspect in the disappearance of my husband. What a relief! Going through menopause is bad enough without being a murder suspect! I thank you, once again, for having a great product. Well, gotta go, have to write to the Hefty bag people.
