And do people seem to be getting more and more stressed out with their frantic lives? This is certainly how it appears to me. We are being bombarded with more information now than we ever have had access to in the past. In the olden days it was only TV, radio and newspapers that grabbed our attention, but now we have internet, our laptops, mobile phones, tablets, social networking sites, games consoles, and new attention-sapping technologies popping up left, right and centre. In a way this is all a good thing – it means that anyone anywhere has access to whatever information they seek, quite literally at their fingertips. However, with the good, we must also look at the polar opposite. What is not so good about all of this? Well, it takes our focus away from the inner self (which is where the state of Grace lives – and from where the magic and miracles show up) to the outer world of materialism, greed, and negativity. Amidst all of this, people are losing sight of the omnipresent magnificence of God, the Universe, our Creator, or whatever name you prefer to use… And that’s a shame because when we live from Grace, life becomes effortless, joyful, and whole. We no longer have a need to envy others, to want more, to seek approval, control, or security… because we have everything we need right here, right now… inside of us. Namely love. Whether you agree with this or not, love is what we all really want more of. It is never about anything else… In the same way, everything that you feel you don’t have always comes down to how much love you have (or don’t have) towards your Self.

We are ALL incredible beings, as in essence we all Divine sparks of Light – beautiful rays of God energy ready to light up the world… Please note, I’ve by no means perfected the art of loving myself wholly and completely yet – that is a big task for any one of us – but I have began the journey and so far it has been well worth it. If you have any resistance to the words in this editorial (and I’m sure many of you do) perhaps be still for a moment and look inside. Ask yourself, why you are so resistant to Truth? You decide!

Strange News rubbish robber A Chinese bank clerk was caught on CCTV laughing at an incompetent bank robber who threatened her with a meat cleaver - despite the fact that she was hidden behind an unbreakable security barrier. Dozy robber De Ke, 28, also stopped mid-robbery in Shanghai to answer his mobile phone, leaning against the glass to tell whoever it was that he was busy and to call back later. Bank clerk Rong Ku, 41, told local media: "I might have taken it seriously if he'd had a gun as you never know really if the security glass will stop a bullet, but I knew he had no chance of getting through with a meat cleaver. "It was a bizarre situation. He said 'this is a robbery' in a really quiet voice and then asked me to hold on while he took a phone call." As he shouted down the phone, a security guard intervened, allowing another customer to disarm the robber before police arrived on the scene. Mango madness A man(go) hunt is underway in Australia after thieves armed with heavy machinery managed to steal a 10-metre, seven-tonne monument during a midnight heist at Bowen, Queensland. The Big Mango is one of 150 "Big Things" erected as tourist attractions in small towns across the country. Suspicions the theft was a publicity stunt were raised when it emerged police had not been informed. Double Massage - Hair & Beauty Studio After seven years of non-stop working on The Sentinella sitting for hours on end at my computer, I thought it was time I treated myself to a good old massage. The Hair and Beauty Studio in Puente don Manuel were advertising double massages so I invited a friend along too. We were given a warm welcome by Sarah and her team. Sarah and her colleague Clare took us through to the massage room, the ambience was wonderful, a lovely heated room awaited us, the lighting was in just the right places to give it a nice calm relaxing feeling, a pleasant aroma of scented oils, soft music playing in the background... Well I was well on the way to relaxing already! Sarah gave us both the choice of massage, either stress relief or energising, we both chose a much needed stress relief massage. Sarah explained that the difference between the two was in the oils that they use. We had booked a double back, neck and shoulder massage, our beds were waiting for us, so Sarah and Clare left the room whilst we made ourselves comfortable.

After checking if either of us had any medical problems with our back or neck, they got to work. After the initial getting used to the massage feeling, I was in pure therapeutic relaxation, almost to the point of nodding off in pure ecstasy. The thought of knowing that there were four people in this room with me, had completley disappeared, I was in a deep trance. Sarah who massaged me, after massaging at certain points regularly placed hot towells on me, that was a nice feeling in itself! After thirty minutes I was so relaxed I could have just curled up in a ball and gone to sleep, but it was only 11am! Sarah offered us a cup of herbal tea and water and left my friend and I to relax some more, have a chat. This is my first experience of a double massage and what a great idea it is, perfect for husbands and wives, couples, friends, mothers and daughters, the list is endless and at only 20€ per person it is definiteley worth it. TATOC Ambassador Programme Sandra Wrightson of De Cotta Law is just back from attending the annual TATOC Timeshare Conference 2014 in England (7th to 9th March), where she was appointed an Ambassador for TATOC.

These lists are sold or obtained illegally and used to try and persuade individuals to part with money and or their timeshare week by companies who then disappear once they have collected enough funds. Both TATOC and RDO have lists of Cold Callers on their websites and are working hard with the authorities to close down these operations.

The association was originally established to assist owner’s committees and consumers and has become the first point of call for the OFT, the European legislators and the authorities generally in dealing with the timeshare sector. TATOC is having considerable impact with its accreditation scheme and have now launched an Ambassador´s programme to help to bring more resorts and owner’s committees into TATOC. How To Have Your Own Easter Egg Hunt Get your house ready for your Easter egg hunt by hanging balloons outside your home and an Easter decoration on your door so everyone knows where they're going. If you plan on serving snacks at the hunt, decorate a few tables with pastel-color tablecloths and streamers. Have Easter baskets ready for the kids to take on the hunt. Make your own Easter egg baskets. You can hide plastic or real eggs at your Easter egg hunt, If you're decorating and hiding real eggs, get a few small prizes to hand out to the children. Fill plastic eggs with small toys, sweets, temporary tattoos, coins, stickers, beads, or numbers that correspond to bigger prizes, such as stuffed animals, chocolate bunnies, Easter books, or gift certificates. Easter Egg hunt Tip: Estimate about a dozen eggs per guest so everyone has a chance to find and collect a good amount of eggs. Have a few extra basket in case guests forget to bring their own.

If you have both younger and older children attending your Easter egg hunt, divide the backyard into two zones so you can hide your Easter eggs based on age groups. Go easy on the smaller children by leaving eggs on low branches and in open places, but make it more difficult for the older ones. Hard-to-find spots, such as under leaves, in the postbox, or on top of car tyres are perfect challenges for older children in your group. Andalucian Plein Air Painters (APAP) 'Dappled light filtering through the trees - a nearby stream - at one with nature - every artist’s dream' what is APAP? We are a group of painters, founded by internationally-renowned artist Heather Gail Harman, BA Hons. We love to paint outdoors in our wonderful landscape, painting 'plein air' in the true spirit of the Impressionists. Heather is a pastel specialist who belongs to eight major pastel societies for which she often is invited to demonstrate her favourite medium. 'My favourite venue was Monet's garden in Giverny, closely followed by some of the stunning painting spots in Andalucia including the Alhambra in Granada and Ithica in Greece,’ she says. ‘Turkey was a favourite too. Ephesus was a fabulous experience; in fact, every venue has something to offer, but it was the Axarquia valley that I moved to ─ the painting here is stunning and varied, and the climate temperate. There is nothing like working in the landscape with a group of like-minded painters who experience working from life and not just from photos. Inevitably their painting benefits; the development of the 'artist’s eye', just pure assimilation of the activity; a heightened sense of the landscape’. Heather has over 30 years’ experience teaching artists ‘plein air’, having spent many years with her husband taking painting groups all over Europe. She starts the sessions with a guidance demonstration ─ how to approach landscape issues ─ which everyone loves, just to see Heather at work live; something that major international societies pay a lot to see her do. Everyone has a vision of the artist amongst the wild flowers engaged in a beautiful idyllic vista, sketching and painting from nature; a good time to bring out your Harrods hamper with a glass of wine etc, having an al fresco lunch in a beautiful spot where you can hear the birds and a nearby stream. Anyone with an interest in portraying the landscape can join in. You don’t have to be an experienced painter ─ you might only sketch and take in the experience, being inspired by those who do paint. It might even spark an interest you didn't know you had. Sketching and painting outdoors is a very affordable pastime! This is also for anyone in the region, whether they belong to an art group already or not. It is so important for some ─ especially ladies ─ being out in the fields in a group; it gives them a sense of freedom and security. Some paintouts will be organised specifically for those who want to participate, but feel shy about everyone walking around looking at them work in a busy village! It’s a great way to see a little bit of the beauty of a new area, too. 'It is important that the group members feel at ease and comfortable,’ says Harriet. ‘We do our best to provide the ambience! This is also

why the tuition element is important. I teach the basics to advanced level in a local class, but outdoor work is very different. It is more relaxed and the artists’ senses are heightened ─ completely different to working indoors. The initial introductory demonstration is important and I keep it lighthearted. I advise on materials ─ I stock most of the materials needed for my groups. Most people tell me that their partners appreciate having something to buy for presents!’ The paint-outs will be arranged during the months which are not too hot, and always where there is plenty of shade. They start in early April, and there are one or two a month, 10.30 - 4pm with time allotted for breaks and lunch. ‘I am looking for some idyllic spots,’ Harriet adds. ‘I have many lined up but I would love to hear from anyone who would love a paintout in their area, and can recommend a good venue, whether it is just a beautiful spot in the countryside (with nearby facilities) or something more challenging ─ maybe from someone's private garden. Hell’s Angels In 1965, Hells Angels welcomed a LIFE magazine photographer (Bill Ray) into their pack, and allowed him to capture their nomad lives on film. New Mum In Town - Carnival Jazmin is two - can you believe it?! I certainly cannot, and she is a fully fledged member of the terrible twos club (I think she was given a free pass). Crikey - how many tantrums can a toddler have in one day? Yikes! As a result, a ‘silla de pensar’ (thinking chair) has been set up and the fridge is always stocked with a bottle (or two) of vino, ready to help Mummy unwind at the end of these challenging days.... This past month was carnival. Unfortunately, I missed the big celebrations due to illness, but Miss J did not AND she had her own little party at nursery...hmm, is it wrong that my two-year-old is in much more social demand than I am? I wonder, I wonder... Anyhow, baby girl was given a tiger outfit for the occasion (quite fitting) and quiet excitement surrounded the build-up to the big dressing-up day. Wednesday, and Jazmin's carnival party arrived! Yahoo, I couldn't wait to dress her up ─ my little tiger. She was bound to be the bestdressed girly there (spoken like a true Mama). The beginning of the morning went well. Breakfast was eaten and we had on the brown leggings and the brown top which went under the tiger's body. Then, the big moment arrived... tiger time..... ROAR ROAR ROAR (to quote a tiger). Jazmin, however, had other ideas! Meltdown. Everything went to pot and panic mode - aarrgghh (that was Mummy's cries). Little J did not want to wear the costume; her reaction to the tiger was NO NO NO! She definitely has not got confidence or assertiveness problems! The tiger was launched across the living room, and the smallest person in the room was successfully making the most noise... from her bedroom floor, with kicking legs and air punches I may add. Nice touch, huh. My reaction? Keep calm and rack brain (somewhat neglected) for supernanny top tips - nada. I approached her (with caution).. big mistake; the escalated tantrum just escalated more. I had no option but to ignore her (and go against all mothering instincts) but, after what seemed like an eternity, tantrum mode was suddenly switched off and she was my lil Jazmin again. Phew. Note to self ─ do not pay attention (negative or positive) to any future tantrums! So, with tiger in hand, we scurried off to nursery and she entered rather bewildered because she was the only one in normal clothes.... will she learn from this? Probably not, but hey,

that's kids. A few hours later, and after a much-needed relaxing cup of cafe con leche, I was back for pick up. Heavens to Betsies, my baby girl was a tiger and very happy with her zookeepers (her teachers' chosen outfit; what were the chances of that, hehe)! Yippee! I wanted to do cartwheels, but I had left my camera in the living room (well, what was the point in taking it). Luckily, I whipped out my smartphone (thank you, evolving modern technology) and was trigger happy with it. What fabulous snaps I had, and they were ready for the whatsapp send out to all contacts! My tiger posed and roared, and she did not stop roaring until it was siesta time..... She looked wonderful and I can positively say that she was the cutest tiger (and very, very scary, obviously)! Now Jazmin loves dressing up, and she even went to nursery dressed as a fairy the other day...for no reason, other than she felt like it. Cool. When and why do we adults lose that attitude and become aware/concerned of others' judgements? Our children really are the best teachers; we have a lot to learn from them!!

A True Story A woman, a car and a mattress A woman ran over a spring-interior mattress on the motorway. She decided not to worry -- and kept on driving. It caught on the undercarriage of her Ford. The ensuing jumble finally whipped around enough to tear a hole in the fuel tank.

"Made a sort of a noise" -- I'll bet it did!

The subsequent lack of fuel is what finally brought her vehicle to its knees. She had managed to drive 30 miles, with a 60 pound tangle of stuff wrapped around her drive shaft. She had it towed to her Ford dealership, and complained that the vehicle made a 'sort of a noise' when she was driving at high speeds. Here are the photos of what they found at her Ford Dealership. On Thursday 15th March, members of the El Valle Drama Group made a presentation to the Caritas charity in Velez Malaga, a cheque for €300.00

Their last film, Hell Chess was watched in New York recently. Bruce Joel Rubin, filmmaker and Oscar winner for the film Ghost, reviewed Hell Chess as "a very touching spiritual message". This is a very complex project and now it´s time for them to begin the long movie, the innovative final blow to change the structures not only to cinema but to philosophy. By Helping Axarquia Most people are pretty good at getting their civil residency from the National Police and are keen to show that they are not just passing trade. However, not everyone is aware that there is more to residency than your sheet of green paper (Civil Resident). For the fiscal residency, you need a certificate from the Tax Office and for this you have to declare your income tax in Spain(Form 100) every year. Civil residency is, in fact, pretty useless when it comes to financial matters. For example, when capital gains or inheritance tax is due, if you can’t prove you are a fiscal resident then you can end up paying non-resident taxes and there are big differences between the two. For example, if you live in Andalucia and you are a married couple with a house valued at 200.000€, with both names on the deed, when one of you dies if the remaining spouse can’t prove fiscal residency then they will be charged 9.833,47€ in inheritance tax. Although (Ventas de ) Zafarraya is the Gateway to Granada Province and not Axarquía at all, it is only just outside la Comarca and finishes off my A – Z nicely! So I set off to drive up through the Boquete de Zafarraya armed with my camera to share with you the most outstanding views that you get when you drive back through the pass and the Axarquía unfolds in front of you. There are two Zafarrayas, the first one you come across as you drive through the pass is Ventas de Zafarraya, named for the Ventas (Inns) that served the many weary travelers who changed their exhausted horses and took shelter and refreshment before travelling onto to Granada. The other Zafarraya is just 3 klms to the left and the most significant building that towers above this small village is its ruined church which is floodlit at night. Destroyed during the earthquake in 1884 it has such a romantic feel to it that I would imagine church services held here amongst the ruins would be preferable to those held within the church that was built to replace it at the end of the XIX century by general Narváez with money coming in from Cuba,

In the main square in Ventas de Zafarraya is the Iglesia de Santa María de los Dolores. Having driven up to Zafarraya it’s a shame to just drive back again so why not take a lovely walk along the disused railway line which in the glory days at the start of the 20th century linked Periana to the Ventas de Zafarraya. Work on the line started in 1911 but was not completed until 1922 and ran for only 38 years before being closed in 1960. To arrive at the Boquete de Zafarraya turn off the A-7 Autovia at Vélez-Málaga and drive inland on the A-356 until just before the lake at Viñuela, before the dam turn right onto the A402 and you will see the p a s s looming up ahead of you. The road you are on is steep and winding and the cars and lorries up ahead look almost like a model railway as they chug along up to the clouds. There is a very nice bar/restaurant on the right as you drive through the gates to Granada province that as well as selling drinks and food has knives for sale behind the bar. Imagine that being allowed back in England!

This excerpt has been taken from Neale Donald Walsch’s chapter in The Light: Conversations with the Light. People ask all the time, “Am I really the Light?” There is nothing in the universe that is not Divine. Everyone and everything is the Light. Divinity is expressed through life itself at every level and in every way. The Light shines with increasing brightness from beings who have expanded their level of consciousness. If a person knows themself as the Light, they will experience themself as That and others will experience them as That as well. So to move to that place of consciousness, simply take another to that place of consciousness. When I asked God what it would take for me to get to the place I so deeply yearned for, He chuckled and said, “Neale, I get that you still think your life is about you, but your life has nothing to do with you. It doesn’t now, it never did and it never will. On the other hand, if you are clear that I sent you here in a state of utter perfection and it is only you who have imagined yourself not to be in that state, then you will move through the world no longer concerned about yourself at any level. In fact, your only concern will be for all those whose lives you touch. You will, therefore, give to another what you have sought to obtain for yourself.” The fastest way to experience yourself as the Light is to cause another to experience themself as the Light, for what you give to another you give to yourself and that will become eternally true in your experience. Recipe Of The Month Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cookies Homemade cookies are a real favourite and perfect for children to make. recipe makes 12 75g/3oz unsalted butter 75g/3oz soft brown sugar few drops vanilla extract 1 egg, lightly beaten 175g/6oz self raising flour finely grated rind 1 orange 100g/4oz white chocolate, roughly chopped 100g/4oz glace cherries, roughly chopped icing sugar for dusting Method: 1. Place the butter, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a bowl and beat with an electric hand held whisk until light and fluffy. Or you could use a wooden spoon to do this. 2. Gradually beat the egg into the mixture, continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy. 3. Fold in the flour, orange rind, chocolate and cherries. Stir well until everything is mixed together, the mixture will be quite stiff at this stage. 4. Lightly grease two baking trays and place tablespoons of mixture on the tray making sure there is room for the cookies to spread while cooking.

The pike is a large, predatory species of freshwater fish.

Adult pike primarily feed on smaller fish which they ambush from their hiding places in the weeds, but they also hunt a number of other animals in the water including frogs, toads, snails and spiders. Due to their large size, adult pike have few predators but smaller pike are preyed upon by mainly land-dwelling animals from foxes to large birds of prey. The heavier the pike, the more likely it is that the fish is a female; male pike rarely attain weights of 10 pounds or more.

There are five recognised species: American Pickerels, the Northern Pike, the Muskellunge, the Chain Pickerel and the Amur Pike. Pikes are also one of the world's oldest fish, thought to have been found on earth for the past 65 million years. Pike are most commonly found in large bodies of deep, slow-moving water such as lakes, rivers and occasionally in large streams.

Jokes h ah An Englishman, a German and a Frenchman are all in Saudi Arabia, sharing a smuggled crate of booze when, all of a sudden, Saudi police rush in and arrest them. The mere possession of alcohol is a severe offence in Saudi Arabia, so for the terrible crime of actually being caught consuming the booze, they are all sentenced to death! However, after many months and with the help of very good lawyers, they were able to successfully appeal their sentences down to life imprisonment. By a stroke of luck, it was a Saudi national holiday the day their trial finished, and the extremely benevolent Sheikh decided they could be released after receiving just 20 lashes each of the whip. As they were preparing for their punishment, the Sheikh announced: "It's my first wife's birthday today, and she has asked me to allow each of you one wish before your whipping. The German was first in line, he thought for a while and then said: "Please tie a pillow to my back.” This was done, but the pillow only lasted 10 lashes before the whip went through. When the punishment was done the German had to be carried away bleeding and crying with pain. The Frenchman was next up. After watching the German in horror he said smugly: "Please fix two pillows to my back." But even two pillows could only take 15 lashes before the whip went through again and the Frenchman was soon led away whimpering loudly. The Englishman was the last one up, but before he could say anything, the Sheikh turned to him and said: "You are from a most beautiful part of the world and your culture is one of the finest in the world.
