Interpersonal communications are at the heart of their ability to effectively coordinate their efforts and work together. Two year-olds learn to speak, but this is the most fundamental aspect of effective conversation. This course teaches business leaders how to optimise and leverage this skill to unleash strategic potential.

Improve Your Corporate Political Intelligence (PQ) Politics are those actions taken within an organization to use power and other resources to obtain ones preferred outcome in a situation in which there is uncertainty. If we consider that leaders are astute players of politics, the good news is that being politically smart is a skill that can be mastered. Each of us has a natural political style that can be made more effective. Your challenge is to learn how to play the game whilst simultaneously trying to improve the rules – learning how to read the environment, stay focused on goals and action steps, recognise where the power lies, identify the true motives and hidden agendas of others and maintain a sense of humour. Reasons to Attend Reasons why you should attend: • Leaders are astute players of politics • Being politically smart is not a trait but a skill that can be mastered • Each of us has a natural political style that can be made more effective • Politics are a pervasive part of the fabric of corporate life • For better or for worse, power and influence rule the turf • Politics may be defined as the art of getting things done and reaping the rewards, or as getting things done in the face of opposition • For those of us serious about our careers, political acumen is an essential competence in the world of work Delivery Method Workshop

Managing Interpersonal Conflict
All organisations acknowledge that workplace conflict is inevitable, yet few of them recognize that learning how to prevent and resolve conflict is key to business success. Poorly-managed workplace conflict causes stress, low morale and decreased productivity. Even though our ability to collaborate with others, the making of agreements and the resolution of conflicts are core skills for working with others and for achieving business results, these skills are taught to very few of us. Instead of working beyond settlement of conflict to true resolution, many of us have become masters of avoidance, defensiveness or attack. Managing Interpersonal Conflict is a skills-based programme which focuses on the following: • Context and causes of conflict • Personal conflict-handling responses and reactions • Awareness of own interaction styles • Awareness of impact of others’ interaction styles on self • Separating what matters from what’s getting in the way • Working towards true resolution • Practical conflict confrontation and resolution guidelines • Application of practical guidelines and feedback Outcomes By the end of the programme, delegates will be able to: • Understand the causes of conflict • Appreciate the extent to which one’s own conflict-handling and interaction styles influence outcomes • Understand and practically utilise the conflict-handling styles model • Confront potentially explosive issues • Apply techniques that help move conflict through settlement to true resolution • Apply the dialogue-based skills of inquiry and advocacy • Mediate conflict between two or more parties

The purpose of each conversation is to share and learn from one another's leadership challenges and successes and to co-create ideas and solutions from shared learning and wisdom.
Facilitators The facilitators have a vast range of experience in organisations and work with the leaders to assist them on their journey.
The Nine Conversations in Leadership™ intervention fuses organisational development and traditional training in a workshop format. The intervention examines leadership in the realms of Head (knowing), Heart (being) and Hands (doing). It brings participants together repeatedly, to explore and cover all aspects of leadership, from organisational leadership to team leadership and the leadership of individuals and self. Leadership alignment is a critical component for harnessing organisational energy to achieve the organisation's vision, values and strategy. Self-assessment and peer feedback are key leadership development tools which constitute the foundations of self-leadership and whilst leaders develop through experience, they can accelerate their readiness to lead by receiving constructive feedback. Assessments are made in the areas of knowledge, attitude and behaviour, all of which are developed during the leadership journey. Delivery Method Workshop
