Skin Care
OTHER
is extends beyond visible wrinkles and skin excess. Sun damage, discolorations, smoothness, elasticity, pore size, moisture content, oiliness, suppleness, and radiance of the skin all play major factors. Over the last couple of decades, scienti c research and developments have led to substantial improvements in skin care. And, our ability to put some of these breakthroughs into practice has been realized. In this, and over the next few articles, we will highlight some of these products and processes.
A quality skin care program may include the use of topicals (creams, lotions, etc.), mechanical stimulation (scrubbing, exfoliating, etc.), chemical abrasion (peels, facials, etc.), growth factors, and energy stimulation. To fully capitalize on these technologies a custom designed protocol must be established for each individual’s needs.
OPTIMAL SKIN CARE IS A PROCESS RATHER THAN A ONETIME TREATMENT.
e skin is the largest organ in the body and the skin cells undergo constant turnover. New cells emerge while old cells age out and are sloughed o . e rate at which this occurs is one of the factors which can be modi ed. We designed our Advantage Program to include regular peels to stimulate the skin and pair with clinical-level products to maintain it.
Further, we include bonus neuromodulator (Botox or Dysport) injections since these are among the most e ective wrinkle preventors.
e above comments are directed to healthy skin care. However, there are a number of skin disorders ranging from acne to dermatoses which can be successfully improved or suppressed with a quality skin care program.
CONSULTATION WITH MEDICAL GRADE SKIN CARE PROFESSIONALS IS THE
WAY
DETERMINE THE PRODUCTS AND TREATMENTS THAT ARE RIGHT FOR YOU.
Our Skin Care Center includes two expert level nurses with a cumulative experience of nearly 40 years, a highly skilled esthetician and a skin care consultant all of whom are up to date on the latest advances. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns and provide state of the art surgical and non-surgical care.

The latest house trend takes one of our favorite home staples – the home bar – and super sizes it! We’ll show you how to make this idea work for your space... because we know you definitely deserve a drink. Cheers!
BBelt-
Built-ins make the perfect bar cabinet. If yours have been storing books you never read and knick-knacks you don’t love, we fully advocate for you to make this switch! Converting a set of built-ins to serve as a bar couldn’t be simpler. You may wish to install a wine rack and tracks for storing glassware (as seen here). Consider the placement of your shelves and adjust as necessary to accommodate your bottles. We also recommend painting surfaces with a gloss paint for easier cleaning – if you like red wine, consider going with a darker color to hide any spills.
All that’s left to do? Get mixing!
If you don’t have built-ins, you can often achieve the look by carefully placing flatpack bookcases. Use moulding or trim to help the bookcases blend more seamlessly into your space.
SW d
Having limited space doesn’t mean you have to skip this trend. Instead, think about little areas of your home that you could turn into a relaxing retreat for sipping your favorite beverage. Both of the ideas pictured here bring the bar to you. Existing armchairs get a cocktail table or cart, transforming an otherwise unused space into something fabulous. Most of us have an accent table that never gets used – but which we have to dust nonetheless. What if you transformed that underutilized surface into a miniature bar? Likewise, that armchair no one ever seems to sit in could become your new “me time” spot.
OutBox
Are you really strapped for space inside? Prefer sipping drinks outdoors? Think outside the box – or your house! Porches, patios, decks and sunrooms make ideal cocktail “rooms.”
We love how the designer in the room to the left repurposed a cabinet as a bar. The bright pop of color makes this sunroom feel so bright and cheery – even with the navy backdrop! Surrounded by loungers, this space feels like the perfect spot for relaxed conversation and great drinks. Wall-mounted bars are a great option for tight courtyards and patios. The MacKenzie-Childs stylists actually flipped a planter box upside-down to make the bar below! It’s an adorable look that doesn’t take up a ton of space.

last stop: floors...
When we say “life-proof,” in terms of flooring, you probably laugh. Caring for your floors can feel like a mighty task, but luxury vinyl flooring is changing that! This flooring is incredibly forgiving, which is especially important in homes with children, pets, or even just yourself, durable, and cost-efficient. With the prices of everything these days, cost-efficient is a term we just love.
With Rodgers Decor & More rapidly growing selection of large format tiles, you can cover more ground on the floor and wall with fewer grout lines - also a term we just love! A statement in modern design, large tiles create a clean, streamlined aesthetic that you can easily style your room around. Just think of the possibilities with 30x30 and 24x48 tiles!

The Bells Group
Nancy Bell, Beth Bell Brown and Lauren Bell
Benefitting from three generations of experience and perspective in the Lexington real estate market, The Bells Group at Rector Hayden Realtors — led by Beth Bell Brown, Lauren Bell and Nancy Bell — bring a combination of distinctive talents, deep industry connections and more than 50 years of combined experience to bear for clients.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to help individuals or business owners achieve their real estate investment goals,” The Bells Group said. “Each buyer and seller story is unique. In the end, it’s the expertise of your Realtor that dictates your opportunity for success in your transaction. We are prepared to guide you, no matter what your goals are.”
And with real estate expertise practically running through their veins, The Bells Group is uniquely poised to help clients navigate today’s particularly challenging market.
“The market now can shift dramatically in the course of just a few days,” they explained. “So, the most important thing an investor can do is align themselves with a seasoned, experienced Realtor to keep them up to date on the most current shifts. Lean on us to guide you in making the best decisions for your individual goals.”
Melissa Brown Thompson
Melissa Brown Thompson serves clients at Keller Williams Legacy Group with the motto “let me help you,” getting the chance to fulfill her passion for bringing value to others and easing their burdens as they work through the most important transactions of their lives.
“Taking the pressure off of my clients to guarantee their experiences during the buying/ selling process are seamless and enjoyable is truly a passion of mine,” Thompson said. “It brings my great joy to provide positive updates as I work out details throughout each step of a transaction, ultimately suiting my clients’ preferences and timelines.”
Born and raised in the Bluegrass state, Thompson praises Kentucky’s infamous towns and counties, unique features and beautiful views, and relishes the chance to tour new properties in the area. On a mission to help more people realize the full potential of this region, she offered an optimistic view of the coming year.
“The market took a slight step back when rates began to rise, but I feel the initial shock has since ceased and now, with the busy spring season vastly heating up, I expect this year to be one of the best yet for the real estate industry,” she reflected.
Sweet Home KY Realty
Amy Boone and Macy Michael
At Sweet Home KY Realty, Amy Boone and Macy Michael differentiate themselves with sheer force of will, attitude and work ethic.
“Our number one speciality as a brokerage is our eagerness to get things done and our ability to overcome challenges,” they explained.
“We are known for attention to detail, our hands-on approach and our problem solving skills.”
Boone and Michael emphasize the importance of working with an agent in real estate transactions so you have professional help to overcome obstacles that may arise. And, driven by a genuine desire to see more great people plant their roots in the Central Kentucky area, they can offer valuable advice for those considering a real estate transaction in this market.
“Our top tip for people looking to buy or sell their home is to be ready,” they said. “Be ready for the perfect home to come on the market or for the perfect buyer to buy your home. You should contact a realtor who you trust in the early consideration of buying or selling, to help ensure a smooth process.”
C.J. Cunningh MortgageWatch
While most firms within the mortgage industry are most focused on properties and transactions, CJ Cunningham of MortgageWatch, LLC has built his business around a focus on people.
“I care for people at a higher level, that’s what I have built my entire practice upon,” Cunningham explained. “Whether it’s a firsttime homebuyer or a professional investor, the way I care for them as individuals will always drive me to deliver the very best experiences.”
Cunningham and the MortgageWatch team do this primarily by helping clients create personal wealth and making their real estate dreams come true.
Through that mission, Cunningham has had the chance to experience the wealth of diversity in Central Kentucky and to share the best of the community that he lives and works in each day.
“A lot of people are intimidated by the changes in the market over the last year,” he explained. “The lack of inventory and the unmet challenge to provide affordable housing have made it difficult for those trying to become homeowners. In reality, though, this is an incredible time to buy if you are patient. Have a plan and work with professionals to get you there!”
Tonya Watkins ERA Select
Realty
As a University of Kentucky graduate with more than 30 years of living in Central Kentucky, Tonya Watkins of ERA Select is not only able to find her clients the perfect homes, but she can call upon a deep network of trusted businesses and professionals to serve any other need they may have as well.
“I love helping people, not only helping them find their perfect home, but also helping them with negotiating offers, connecting them with good lenders and contractors and offering an objective mindset, every step of the way,” Tonya said. “I recognize that buying and selling real estate can be very emotional for my clients and I am here to help alleviate their stress by making the process easy for them.”
And with so much experience in the region and a commitment to doing right by her clients, Tonya has unique insight into how industry trends impact her community in particular.
“Housing prices remain steady here in Kentucky, meaning that homeowners have substantial equity in their homes,” Tonya concluded. “So, if you are happy in your home and don’t want to move, maybe it is time to put that equity to work for you and invest in rental property.”

Cathy Davis Justice Real Estate
Though she sells all types of real estate, Cathy S. Davis of Justice Real Estate enjoys selling farms the most. Farms are her specialty!
“I love farms and houses on acreage.” Covering all Central Kentucky, Cathy knows the areas, soils and the lay of the land. Cathy understands that every farm is different, whether it is horse, cattle, or crop. It is her extensive knowledge and expertise in the farming arena that play a major role in her success.
Cathy says, “I enjoy the people I work with. They know how much I love Kentucky and its rich history. I love to show off Kentucky’s beautiful bluegrass. Our gorgeous state has so much to offer, and it deserves to be showcased!”
“The market is so crazy right now, and it does not appear that it will slow down any time soon,” Cathy explains, adding that the growing competitiveness in this market makes it more important than ever for prospective buyers and sellers to be prepared and turn to a professional.
“I have had several clients tell me horrid stories about ‘for sale by owner,’” she says. “As a buyer, you truly need a Realtor to represent you. A Realtor knows how to handle certain situations and how to solve problems that can arise during the buying and selling process.”
My Port McKee Fowler
Bell Law
With a unique combination of realty and legal expertise, Mary Porter McKee serves as a real estate attorney with Fowler Bell PLLC, assisting buyers, sellers, realtors, builders and lenders in their negotiations, transactions, residential and commercial buying and selling.
“It’s important to work with a real estate attorney for legal compliance, contract negotiation, investigation, reliability and a smooth closing,” she explained. “From the purchase of your first home, protection of your assets, starting your own business, or probating a loved one’s estate, we offer representation throughout your lifechanging events.”
For those who have been involved in real estate transactions, the benefit of having such a legal expert in their corner during such processes is likely well understood. But now more than ever, a seasoned legal pro with real estate knowledge can make all the difference in negotiations.
“The past year has shown us how quickly the markets can change,” McKee reflected. “Interest rates are certainly the topic of conversations in many living rooms and board rooms. As the Federal Reserve adjusts for inflation, we are all feeling the return to rates of the 1990s and 2000s. It is important to listen to the lessons of the past, without removing our focus from the present.”
Trey McCallie Realty One Group
At Realty One Group Bluegrass, Trey McCallie and his team play a variety of roles for their clients, bringing a wealth of experience and deep industry knowledge as a partner through every step of the real estate experience.
“We are your guide through the process,” McCallie explained. “That process has probably changed radically since you last went through it. We are therapists and counselors during what can be a very stressful portion of a person’s life. We live to create great outcomes for our clients — that is our reward.”
As the real estate inventory has dipped below even what were considered historically low numbers, the Realty One team relies on the joy of serving its neighbors and representing the region’s properties to continue driving successful transactions.
“I love selling our area, our culture, our people — all of the benefits of living here in the Bluegrass,” McCallie said.
And when it comes to words of wisdom, he added a short and simple tip for prospective clients.
“Have cash! Lots of cash!” he joked. “Be patient, take a breath, let a professional guide you through the process.”
Je na Wght Realty One Group
Jeanna Wright of RealtyOne Group Bluegrass knows that matching clients with the right homes or the right buyers is a challenge, and it’s one that she always enjoys the opportunity to overcome.
“I love working with people and helping them find the best home for their situation,” she explained. “I like puzzles, so making that great match is like a puzzle for me. I enjoy helping buyers and sellers narrow down their needs and wants and find where compromises can be made.”
But comparing her work to that of a master puzzle solver isn’t the only metaphor she employs.
“Real estate in general is like a roller coaster,” she continued. “It is always changing. We sometimes have sharp turns or downhill speeds, but it always comes back around and levels off. This year, we have seen the fast and the slow. It has definitely kept all agents, buyers and sellers on their toes.”
The wild ride that is the current real estate market is part of why Wright urges people to work with real estate professionals, securing someone by their side who will have their best interests in mind throughout this process.
“Having a representative in your corner will allow you to move through the transaction with less stress,” she concluded. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of the expertise of a realtor for every transaction.”
DECOR
Interior design has become a home to the creativeinspired. Simple walls and white furniture have become a thing of the past and DIY-ified looks are taking over. There are many ways to give your home a facelift without breaking the bank. Here are a few ideas to try in your own home this summer...
TIPS Photo credit: The Page EditWall molding designs are becoming a fan-favorite project as they can completely transfrom a room. Talk about the look of luxury for less!
Everything from board & batten, picture frame molding and wainscoting, can be created to achieve a more upscale, modern look in any room.
Designs like shiplap that we all know and love can be extremely expensive as one shiplap board can cost upwards of $5/ea. DIY options such as simple plywood sheets cost around $30 and you can get 6-8 shiplap boards out of it. Sounds much better doesn’t it?
Map out the look you’re wanting to achieve with painters tape to get the overall look as well as correct measurements before you begin.
Furthermore, create a drawing of your plan with the final measurements that you can refer back to while working. Purchase a few extra pieces of molding/framing just in case. Once you get into cutting and working you never know if something might come up short.
Use a spacer - as much as you trust your eye and even your tape guide, using a physical piece to space each section/box will guarantee correct spacing throughout your design. Nail the corners/outer edges first, step back, and make sure everything looks centered and accurate before nailing the entire piece down. Just in case you need to tweak, you won’t have to remove all of the nails, only a few!
Have an old antique piece of furniture that you don’t know where to put? Don’t throw it out! All she needs is a little sanding, fresh stain or paint and a new set of hardware and... BAM. Brand new piece!
There are many ways you can DIY that beloved dresser or kitchen table. You can change the stain or strip to it’s original finish or even add a fun pop of paint.
Here are some tips and tricks to be sure you follow when approaching any restoration project:
Invest in a great sander. This is the most important tool you’ll have in your toolbox. Anytime you’re changing up any piece of furniture it most likely will need to be sanded down for either cleaning or smoothing edges.
When working on the legs of a piece of furniture you need to lift it off the ground to access them. You’ll need something sturdy for support. This can range from a block of wood to painter’s tripods.
The best bleaching product you can use on wood is your simple household bleach and good ol’fashioned sunshine. When working on veneer-covered furniture, be sure to use a paint stripper to remove the paint easily and lightly sand afterwards. If you try to just sand off the paint you can risk damaging the veneer underneath, which you don’t want!
Add a router table to your DIY arsenal - these are great to use for adding additional details onto doors and drawers.
Who doesn’t love an accent wall? Sometimes a room needs a little oomph to take it to the next level, but you don’t want to overdo it! Creating a fun accent wall in a pattern or pop of color is an easy switch-up to really elevate any room.
Wallpaper has always been a go-to for this type of facelift, however it can be extremely pricey.
Stenciling is a great way to achieve the same look for sometimes more than half the cost!
Here are some tips for creating your own statement wall:
Before you begin, you MUST offload the majority of your paint onto a paper towel. The paper towel should be covered in paint by the time you are done. This prevents any excess paint ruining those crisp lines you’re wanting to achieve.
Anytime you move your stencil you’ll want to re-secure it with painters tape. Don’t trust yourself to hold it while painting. You don’t want to risk it moving which can mess up your pattern moving forward.
Wipe off the back of your stencil before moving onto the next section in case there is any wet paint on the edging. You don’t want to transfer paint onto any dried parts you’ve previously painted. (Our very own Haley Norris learned this the hard way! See her guest bathroom transformation top left.)
choose a dark accent wall to add an elevated contrast to a room.
Flo rFro
If you love fresh flowers in your home, flower frogs are your best friend – and no, we’re not talkin’ about Kermit! Flower frogs are a vintage item that is seeing a well-deserved renaissance, and we’ll help you hop on this throwback trend.
by: amanda harperFanyone unfamiliar, flower frogs are items you use to stabilize flowers inside an arrangement in lieu of icky foam or fussy wire. You’ve probably seen them in antique shops or flea markets and wondered what the heck you were looking at! They’re generally round, flat discs with multiple holes, often made of glass or pottery. Some are a “pincushion” style with wires poking upward. All of them allow you to create a lush, beautiful floral arrangement –even in a container with a wider mouth that might not otherwise hold the stems upright, such as an urn.
The oldest flower frogs date back to the fourteenth century in Japan, used in the art of ikebana, or flower arranging. They were extremely popular here from the 1880s until the 1940s. Your grandmother or great-grandmother certainly used these wonderful items to make her home more beautiful and welcoming.
Like many vintage items, antique flower frogs are very collectible. Many flower frogs are decorative, especially those produced during the Art Deco era; artisans fashioned flower frogs into dancing ladies, turtles, fountains, dolphins and more, using porcelain, silver, colorful glass or even lead. If you’re curious about collecting, check out Flower Frogs for Collectors by Bonnie Bull, or search online for guides.
Even if you don’t have grandma’s flower frog, you can get frogging today! You could peruse antique stores to find a vintage frog, or check out local makers’ markets. Craft stores will certainly have them in stock. There are dozens of frogs available online, as well; Etsy is a great place to find handcrafted frogs, but of course you’ll find them on Amazon.
How U aFlo r Frog
pin style
Sometimes called a kenzan, these frogs have shorter, sharp spikes. These are ideal for tight, precise arrangements. Optionally, you can add floral putty to the bottom of this frog. Carefully press the frog into the bottom of your vase. Add just enough water to cover the frog. Press large stems onto the spikes. Thin stems can be supported in between. Tip: cut stems at an angle!
hairpin style
These frogs have longer wire loops and are ideal for larger, lush arrangements. You can optionally add floral putty to the bottom of this frog. Press into the bottom of your vase, and add water. Cut stems at an angle, then arrange between the pins or slip into the loops.
cla ic style
These frogs are flat or domed with holes. Clear glass ones are ideal for clear vases where another frog might be unsightly. In general, these are great for large blooms, as there are fewer spots for placing stems. Place the frog in the bottom of your vessel and fill with water. Place stems in each hole; we suggest working from the outside in. Tuck smaller stems in between the large blooms. You can also find some that are designed to sit atop mason jars, which is a fun option that makes the frog a decorative part of the arrangement (seen here).
diy
Making your own frog is fairly simple! Use floral or washi tape to make a grid on the top of your vase and use those holes to arrange your flowers. Or take a hint from The Boys at House: chicken wire makes the perfect faux frog for containers of any size!

There are tons of options when it comes to landscaping, from ‘what kind of perennials should I plant?’ to ‘would you recommend mulch or gravel?’ Luckily, the talented professionals at Diamond Pond/Kentucky Garden and Fountain are eager to help you find the best selection for your home, in any landscaping category.
With more and more homeowners getting behind the backyard oasis trend, it’s important to have the right ingredients for an at-home vacation. Decorative stone is just one option when upgrading your yard, adding an indoor feel to your outdoor oasis. Add stone to your fire pit for an eye-catching space, create the perfectly curated patio, have your guys-only outdoor kitchen, plus whatever ideas your imagination can muster. It’s your oasis, and the experts at Diamond Pond/Kentucky Garden and Fountain are there to make your dream come true.
While mulch is the traditional choice for gardens, decorative gravel is another option to make your garden stand out. The clean look of gravel and its varieties of colors have made this a popular alternative to mulch, plus there’s no awful smell with gravel! If you still prefer the traditional route, there are some benefits to having mulch in your garden. It insulates the soil in your garden to provide a buffer from the extreme hot and cold temperatures Kentucky is so well-known for having, helps retain water to keep the roots of your plants moist, combats pesky weeds, and prevents soil compaction. Depending on your yard, you may need straw mulch or cypress mulch, so let the experts at Diamond Pond/Kentucky Garden and Fountain help pick the best choice for you.

YOUR GUIDE TO THE perfect CONTAINER GARDEN
by haley norrisDo you find yourself looking at a corner of your home or outdoor patio and think, “what could I possibly put there?” Container gardens are becoming an easy solution and we’re loving them!
For you plant lovers out there, grab a cluster of your favorite containers (not pots.. we’ll explain) and get creative with arrangements of flowers or vegetables to build beautiful corners in and out of your home.
Container gardens can be hung from the rafters, suspended on hooks, mounted on walls, stacked up steps... the list goes on and on. For those small spaces and nooks and cranies, you can create a garden anywhere.
Is a garden container the same as a flower pot?
Short answer is no.
Flower pots are usually smaller, whereas garden containers are larger and designed for better drainage.
There are also some pots that aren’t weather-safe, which can quickly kill your plants.
Photo courtesy of Southern LivingGet creative with your container selection to make a really unique container garden. Whether it’s in your back patio sanctuary or adorning your front porch, choose containers of different sizes, heights and colors for a one-of-a-kind display.
designer tip:
Build unique gardens all within one large container. Get creative! Choose plants that complement each other in color but add different textures to create a beautiful accent peice for the exterior of your home.

A popular trend in gardening is raised garden beds. These statement pieces offer so many benefits to your seasonal gardening while adding a beautiful decor element to your home. Raised garden beds tend to be more productive than your normal inground gardening because they allow the soil to be less compact therefore creating better drainage of water.
You will see your plants start to grow much earlier with raised garden beds. The plants are exposed to the warmth earlier in raised soil rather than in the ground, so you’ll have much more time to plant all of your favorites as soon as the spring sun arrives!
Who doesn’t love a fun DIY project? Raised garden beds are a great project for the whole family to build, fill and watch grow, plus they are the perfect accent piece for your back patio! Other perks?
Your back will thank you. We all know we’re getting older and the thought of having to stay bent over for long periods of time just to plant our precious tomatoes doesn’t sound as enjoyable as it used to.
Your plants will thank you. Not only are they perked up nice and pretty for everyone to see, they won’t be getting any visits from the little critters who enjoy your veggies as much as you do!
Photo courtesy of Dreaming of Homemaking BlogJOEY’S CARPET CARE has been serving central Kentucky since 1980, priding themselves on providing the best cleaning and restoration services to both residential and commercial clients. Joey Pickett started the business after managing a local franchise, when he was considering becoming a franchisee himself, he was encouraged by his father to take the leap and make his own way. Joey’s son Ben has continued the tradition and now runs the familyowned business with the goal of continuing as a third generation and beyond. Ben’s entire team works hard to have a family culture while striving to be the very best in the business.
“You can have the confidence that we have taken the time to know our products and procedures so that we can provide the most thorough cleaning while protecting your home” Ben states. “Our technicians aren’t paid commission, so their focus isn’t sales; but rather to provide the services you desire for your home. When you hire Joey’s, you know we are a company that stands behind our service and wants you to have the best experience possible”.
Advice for SHOPPING FOR POPULAR SPRING CLEANING SERVICES:
When it comes to duct cleaning for indoor air quality, one should look at the systems being used to provide the work. Many systems are designed to clean your vents but don’t thoroughly reach the trunk line to address the entire system. With Joey’s high-powered truck mount vacuum and state-of-the-art portable negative air machine (primarily for condos and hard to reach areas) they can clean the system all the way to the air handler to give the best results possible. Let a Joey’s duct cleaning specialist provide a free video inspection to make sure you’re having work performed on what you truly need.
If homeowners want to restore the exterior of their property, be sure the company you hire has the ability to take care of your needs. Treatment looks different for a variety of surfaces, so the company needs to be trained to treat roofs, siding, wooden decks/fences, solar panels, etc. Exterior cleaning is usually broken down into two categories; soft washing and pressure washing. Soft washing uses specific surfactants to remove staining and then uses a low-pressure, high-volume water rinse. This system can be the best option for many home surfaces to avoid damage caused by high pressure systems on shingles, wood deck boards, etc. Pressure washing can also use surfactants to help achieve the best results. Using either cold or hot water, this is best for residential driveways an sidewalks; but also a good choice for commercial areas such as restaurants and industrial facilities for the removal of oil and grease on equipment.
One of the mantras that the company lives by, or “Joeyisms” is “Anything you say beforehand is education, anything you say afterward is an excuse”. This is often used as a reminder of the importance of communication with customers and the responsibility to explain the work being provided.
Family is without question the most important factor in Ben and his family’s life. With four young children in tow, spending time with them and watching them grow makes everything worth it. Ben’s advice to anyone eager to start their own company? “Know your industry, know your product, and know your customer. You can sacrifice your time and money but never sacrifice the quality of your product or customer experience. It’s much easier to make back your money than it is to rebuild your reputation”.

A New Be n ng
at interior yardage
by: fran elsenInterior Yardage is no stranger to central Kentuckians looking for interior design ideas and fabric choices. Now under new ownership, Anna Barber and Katie Anne Lester are looking forward to a new chapter for the designer-inspired store. This dynamic duo has added exciting new additions with updated inventory, home décor, and much more.
Although Anna had a career as a Nurse Practitioner and Katie Anne with the Ronald McDonald House of the Bluegrass, they’ve always had a passion for interior design and home decor. When the opportunity arose to take over the store, they knew it was the perfect fit. “Interior Yardage has been a staple on Southland Drive and the local community offering homeowners and designers quality service and products,” they state.
“As a locally owned small business, shopping with us is not only supporting a dream but also supporting local craftspeople who specialize in seamstress and upholstery work.”
Katie Anne and Anna provide handson service, knowing that curating the perfect home takes time. They are here to walk every customer through the process of bringing a design vision to life.
The partners are both born and raised Lexingtonians, and they’ve watched
the city flourish over the years. While the growth has been fun to watch and be a part of, to them, it still feels like the same small city they grew up in. “We love how it’s the perfect small big city,” they say. “We want to see more beautiful small businesses have the opportunity to start up or continue to thrive.”
Coco Chanel once said, “Elegance is when the inside is as beautiful as the outside.” They believe this is not only true with one’s demeanor but also in the home. Having the inside of a home look as beautiful as the outside only brings more elegance to the space.
For those coming into the store to shop and look around as they update their home interiors, the ladies’ advice is to take your time, bring photos of things you like and bring inspiration with you. Think of each piece you see as part of a puzzle that brings everything together. “Running a business truly does take a village,” they say. “It’s important to have the support of your village, and you can conquer your dreams.”
Anna and Katie Anne find their inspiration in their families. They are passionate about raising their kids and being there for loved ones. This carries over into their work life as well; they enjoy helping to make a house a home for their clients to create the core memories they hold dear. •
Thoughtful Gifting with Connor Query Art
Lexington based visual artist, Connor Query, has been honing her craft in painting and graphic design from a young age. In 2013, she turned her passion into a business, originally focused on custom prints and painting – Connor has now blended graphic design into her list of services, giving her client a unique experience and a variety of options and services.
This experience with painting and graphic design has allowed her to introduce other mediums and projects into her business including but not limited to; custom portraits, animal/pet prints, wood burned items, photography, corporate graphic design, business design, murals, business signs, chalkboard art, watercolors, calligraphy work, marketing materials, and now even social media management. Connor works with any business and or individual to bring their idea or piece to life, testing the artistic boundaries to create something unique – just for you!
Connor lives and works in Lexington, Kentucky, running Connor Query Art, LLC, as a full-time artist, freelance designer and social media manager, available for work across the United States. You can find more of her work in and around various Kentucky businesses, or get in touch with her through her website – connorqueryart.com.
What do you love most about Lexington?
Growing up in Lexington, I have loved to watch this city turn into an inclusive, supportive and booming art community. Lexington is not the biggest but also not the smallest, so that makes things exciting and allows something new to be discovered every day. Lexington will always be home.
What is the mission/philosophy behind Connor Query Art?
“Custom art to help inspire thoughtful gifting.” Mostly every one of the commissions I do for someone is a gift for someone else and I love that they are coming to me and trusting me with their thoughtful and personal gifts.
What was the inspiration behind it?
Well, I have always been artistic and creative, for as long as I can remember, but the full business didn’t truly blossom until a friend of mine made the first request for me to paint her two pups as a Christmas gift. It was about 2016 and she asked for two 30x40 canvases of her two dogs, so it was a relatively tall order. Once they were gifted, I posted them online and that’s where the business took off! I continued to receive and accept more orders, while working my full-time desk job, until I decided to take the plunge and turn Connor Query Art into an LLC. I quit my office job and now am going on four years strong of being a business!
Aside from your art, what are you most passionate about?
One thing I have become more passionate about is staying active and being more social. I work a lot within the brewery community, and the different locations have led me to various opportunities, allowing me to connect with multiple new faces and places, which has kept my new passion of being more social afloat.
What are some of the most important things you’ve learned in your industry?
I’ve learned to not compare myself to other artists. It is so easy to get lost in comparison, especially with artists who have similar local businesses. The art world is basically one big judging contest, and it can make things difficult when everyone has their own style and way of working. Seeing someone else’s success can lead to feelings of failure, but everyone has their own path, and I am content where I am with my business.

Paxton Home began five years ago with a motherdaughter team and a passion for all things design and home decor. Each month they fill their showroom with beautiful furniture, rugs, art, lighting, and accessories. New merchandise, handpicked by Amy and Paige, arrives by the truckload regularly, allowing shoppers to enjoy a total transformation of the store at each month’s weekend event.
“We wanted to start a business together and home decor has always been a shared passion of ours”. With a combined background in interior design (mother Amy majored in Interior Design at the University of Kentucky) and marketing (daughter Paige worked in marketing at a worldwide record label) Paxton Home was born! Paxton is Amy’s maiden name and Paige’s middle name—thus, the common link between the two.
The Paxton Home team is dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for their customers. Their goal has always been to create an environment where everyone feels at home and you are invited to come as you are! With only being open 2 days a month, the event weekend is busy! Whether you’re stopping in after your child’s sports game, or are running errands in the middle of your home renovation, there’s no need to dress up; the intent is for customers to make themselves at home.
The monthly Paxton Home Events are FUN, and you will find customers catching up with friends they run into, enjoying the curated music playlist and shopping the beautiful showroom. “Our promise is that you will feel appreciated and welcomed from the moment you walk through our doors.”
Paige and Amy’s faith is what keeps them motivated, positive, and constantly improving.
They feel blessed to be given the opportunity to meet and serve so many amazing people in the community, and hope they can impact others the same way they have been impacted. In addition to their company, they are most passionate about family. Weekly family dinners and taking trips together keep them close. Coming back to Lexington after a getaway makes them appreciate central Kentucky even more.
The pair emphasizes the importance of having a joyful attitude, integrity, pride in your work, and always being willing to adapt to having a successful business.
“Starting your own business is always going to present challenges and obstacles, but it can also be extremely rewarding. Being able to provide employment opportunities for others and making new friends through Paxton Home is the most gratifying part.”

shave IT OFF
That’s right gentlemen! Us ladies know a thing or two about manscaping.
by Allyson MattinglyAs an office of mostly women, and somewhat opinionated women at that, we have to admit that we love scruff! But, sometimes, we don’t love what comes after scruff. If you’re looking to appease your lady, get ready for a big day, or simply want that clean-shaven feel, there’s no substitute for a fresh, close shave.
While we ladies don’t have to shave our faces (just everywhere else), we are familiar with the annoying bumps, knicks, and cuts that come along with shaving. With all the shaving products on the market, all claiming to give you the best shave, you’d think there would be a one-way-fits-all to get a smooth shave every time. Of course, this is reality, so we know that shaving is different for everyone; but if you need some tips and tricks for the best shave of your life, read on gentlemen!
After talking to some of my male friends and family about their shaving routines, I learned that many men don’t particularly address the needs of their skin before shaving. Even though a man’s skincare routine is most likely much less intensive than a woman’s seemingly endless regimen, it’s still important to incorporate some skincare into your everyday routine. After all, even small preparations can make a great impact on your end result!
Pre-Shave Skincare
CLEANSE
Using a gentle cleanser will remove any dirt and oil from the day, and even if you don’t think your face needs a wash, we promise it does. We get all kinds of buildup on our face from our phones, hands, clothes, pillows, among other things, and cleansing will allow a clean canvas for shaving. Warm water also opens up your pores, helping to prevent ingrown hairs and razor burn.
#1 pick!
EXFOLIATE and MOISTURIZE
A good exfoliating face scrub will lift away any dead skin cells, giving your razor a smooth surface to glide across. You don’t want to exfoliate everyday though, as it can damage the skin.
Pre-Shave Prep
PRE-SHAVE OIL
A pre-shave oil creates a protective layer on the skin and makes the shaving process much smoother. A quality oil is your secret weapon when getting a close shave, so look for oils with ingredients that will lubricate and moisturize your skin. Ingredients like coconut oil, jojoba oil, and almond oil are signs of a good face oil.
SHAVING CREAM
When choosing a shaving cream, avoid any products with parabens that strip your skin of essential oils. Instead, look for ingredients like Vitamin E, aloe vera, and argan oil. When applying your shaving cream, apply in an upward motion to lift the hairs away from your face for a more precise shave. Apply generously and get ready for a smooth shave.
THE SHAVE
During your shave, use a clean, sharp blade and go with the grain, rinsing with warm water between passes. We cannot stress a sharp blade enough, as the number one enemy of a clean shave is dull blades. It’s recommended to keep your blade at a 30 degree angle to minimize the risk of cutting yourself while shaving, and always remember to take your time!
The options are endless when it comes to types and brands of razors, from classic straight razors to self-cleaning electric razors. While the type of razor you choose can impact the quality of your shave, the most important factors to keep in mind are stretching the skin for a tight surface and heat for less irritation.
TOPS
Guys’ pick
Exfoliate 2-3 times a week and follow with a hydrating moisturizer.
Moisturizer brings back all the moisture to your skin, and brownie points if you have a moisturizer with SPF! This can help with sun exposure, skin irritation, ingrown hairs, and razor bumps. We give this moisturizer 5 stars!

american trust committment
“You will see this not only in our fiduciary status, a legal duty of loyalty, prudence, and care, but also in our commitment to annually becoming certified for fiduciary excellence now 16 years running. The biggest misconception about the financial services industry is that all professionals are the same. At American Trust Wealth, our fiduciary investment advisors are obligated to place the needs of our clients ahead of our own. Our approach is to design solutions helping clients achieve their goals all the while treating them like family,” explained the American Trust Wealth team.
American Trust Wealth offers a full range of investment management and financial planning services and works with you to determine your risk tolerance and asset allocation. We provide sound financial advice without regard to compensation arrangements and are fully transparent with fee structure. We are completely open architecture and objectively evaluate every investment using fiduciary best practices.
“The most rewarding part about working in financial services is the satisfaction of seeing how even common financial advice can change the course of someone’s life — leading to happiness, goal accomplishment, financial satisfaction, and peace of mind,” the team reflected.
And nowhere is that fulfillment more readily accessible than in the Bluegrass, where American Trust Wealth has helped countless neighbors and community members rethink their ability to prepare for life’s uncertainties.
“Lexington is a friendly city where people deal with each other with a smile on their faces,” American Trust Wealth said. “The Lexington community is engaging, helpful and cooperative. Lexington is the perfect example of Kentucky’s warm southern charm.”
While the start of 2023 may have more of us thinking about our own futures and facing new challenges in the financial market, American Trust Wealth has the experience and longevity to guide clients through turbulent and calm times alike. And with such a strong history, its clients can feel confident about keeping up in the future.
“It’s easy to get caught up in the headlines but financial history has proven time and again that investors are better off focusing on the long-term while resisting the temptation to try and ‘time the market,’” the team advised. “The future of the financial services industry will continue evolving with new technologies, new regulations, and new investment strategies, all of which will continue to shine a light on the value of working with a professional that can navigate a rapid pace of change all the while continuing to put your interests first for wealth management and financial planning.”
Nothing beats the feeling of welcoming spring through your open windows after giving your home a good deep clean. Though spring cleaning can feel like a daunting task, it doesn’t have to be difficult, especially when you have a helpful checklist. Grab your cleaning tools, queue your favorite playlist, and get ready to say goodbye to the winter blues with these spring cleaning tips and tricks!
Create your Checklist
First order of business before you start cleaning is creating your handy-dandy checklist. A checklist is the best way to make sure you stay organized and don’t forget any areas in your home that might need some extra attention. We suggest creating a checklist for each room and of course, to work smarter not harder. If you just cleaned a room, focus more on the spots that were neglected during the winter.
Windows and Blinds
The most common mistake people make when cleaning windows is picking a sunny day rather than when it’s overcast. Your windows may glisten in the light, but the sun can make your cleaning solution dry too quickly, leaving streaks on the windows. Rather than using chemicals, a microfiber cloth with water is the best way to get streak-free windows. Our favorite Microfiber cloths come from Norwex, a Norwegian brand that offers sustainable cleaning solutions to make your home a healthier place.
Wash the Washer
We all know that washing machines can get a bit grimy after a few loads of laundry, but disinfecting your machine can help it stay at maximum cleaning potential. While there are pre-made cleaners out there, you can make your own with common household products. Run your washer with hot water, white vinegar, and baking soda then wipe it clean.
Ceiling Fans
Did you know a simple pillowcase can help you from spreading dust all over the house when you’re cleaning a ceiling fan? Regular dusters seem to sometimes spread the dust fans collect, but sliding a pillowcase around the blade can contain all that dirt.
After dusting the blades, use a cleaning solution with essential oils to give your home a fresh smell when you turn the fan on!
Wash the Dishwasher
Dishwashers may keep our dishes clean, but they need to be washed from time to time as well. Like clothes washing machines, there are pre-made solutions you can buy for dishwashers, but adding a cup of vinegar and running a quick wash, sanitizing cycle will give you the same clean results.
Steam the Microwave
To put it simply, a dirty microwave with stuck, dried food is just gross. For an easy way to wipe all that old food and staining away, fill a microwave-safe bowl with a cup of water and a few tablespoons of vinegar. Heat it on high until it starts boiling, and let it sit for about 5 minutes before removing it from the microwave. Now, wiping your microwave should be a breeze!
Reusable Bags
Reusable bags are a great way to cut down on plastic, but you probably don’t think about washing them during your regular cleaning routine. Check out the care label to see if they’re machine washable, and if not, clean them with a washcloth or sponge and sudsy water. Rinse with a clean cloth and let air dry before your next grocery outing.
Declutter
More likely than not, your home has annoying clutter taking up usable space. Spring cleaning is the perfect time to declutter your home, and we suggest going room by room to determine what you’d like to keep and what you’d like to toss. Have a box for items you want to sell, items you want to donate, and items going to the trash. While you’re decluttering, organize items you’re keeping and try to get rid of the clutter as soon as you can, so it doesn’t just move to a different area. Our pro tip: if you haven’t worn or used it in over a year, you probably don’t need it!
Old Makeup
Every woman has kept a makeup product longer than we’re supposed to, but spring cleaning is the prime time to get rid of any expired, or questionable, products. Most beauty products expire after about 12 months, and can cause breakouts and skin irritation if they’re too old. While you’re tossing your old products, go ahead and clean your makeup brushes too so your next makeup application is flawless!
Bathroom Cleaning
Even if you clean your bathroom weekly, we guarantee you don’t wash your shower curtain or clear your medicine cabinet every time. Go through your cabinets and closets and discard any outdated or barely there products, while also wiping out cabinets and drawers. Wash bath mats, towels, shower curtain, and rather than replacing your shower liner, wash it too.
If your shower head or faucet has any hard-water buildup or water stains, our good friend vinegar is here to help. Fill a bag with white vinegar, soak your shower head, and let it soak for 30 minutes to an hour and wipe away any leftover residue.
Exterior Work
Our homes endure a lot throughout the year, and may need some minor TLC from time to time. Get some much-needed vitamin D after winter by getting out and performing maintenance like cleaning out the gutters, power washing siding and windows, cleaning exterior furniture, trimming trees and shrubs, and adding fresh mulch or stones.
Find Your Dream Home with Calloway
Spending his entire life around custom home building and learning from his late father, who worked as a custom home builder in Kentucky for nearly 30 years, Chase Jones draws from a lifetime of industry experience and a natural-born passion to serve customers through Calloway Quality Homes.
“My father, Marion, started Bluegrass Fine Homes in 1996, less than two years after I was born, and by the time I was 11, he was teaching me how to operate heavy equipment,” Jones recalled of his early start in the business. “Fast forward seven more years and I had graduated high school and began working for my father full time.”
Now, leading his own business in Calloway Quality Homes, Jones operates with the philosophy that a company is always measured by the quality of work it produces and with some words of wisdom from his days working with his father: “If you can’t do it right the first time, when are you ever going to have the time to do it over?”
And while there are other home builders in the Central Kentucky region, Jones has differentiated his business in some key ways.
Written by Peter Chawaga“Some builders may only entertain certain size or price point projects, but I have built homes as small as 1,400-square feet and have also built homes as large as 8,400-square feet,” he explained. “Also separating me from some of the other builders is the fact that I provide fully-itemized cost breakdown estimates to all of my clients before beginning their projects. My clients greatly appreciate this because they can see where every dollar is going to be spent during their project, rather than just a lump sum number given to them with no explanation.”
From the first scoop of soil dug to the final cleaning of the house before marketing begins, Jones is directly involved in all of the company’s projects, and homeowners get the benefit of that involvement on a daily basis. Jones provides daily updates, meets with them at the construction sites and has even personally helped them move furniture and install kitchen appliances. In the end, he wouldn’t have it any other way — it’s all part of his dream job.
“I am involved with projects from start to finish,” he said. “Even when I was just sweeping out houses at the beginning of my career, I loved the atmosphere of a construction site: the smell of sawn lumber, the sound of nails being shot and, ultimately, the feeling of seeing what was once just a hole in the ground being turned into a beautiful custom home.”
“We had such a great experience working with Chase! Every vision we had, he came up with the best way to bring it to life! He made our dream home a reality!”

Derrick Whitaker Designs
Derrick Whitaker has revalitzed so many kitchens in the Lexington area that it has become one of his favorite rooms, even though it’s also one of the most challenging to redesign.
“The kitchen space must be maximized with an eye to function, as well as aesthetics. It is truly an investment in the value of your entire home,” Whitaker said. “I have been doing design since ’94 with an emphasis on custom kitchens and baths.”
With a range of captivating projects in his completed portfolio, Whitaker brings a focus on the importance of home spaces to everything that he does.
“The kitchen is a hub of activity and must be a well-thought out space,” he said. “The latest in cabinet design, superb appliances and perfect finishes from flooring to backsplash. Level Up Services
Jorome Fields
In 2009, Jorome Fields had a dream of providing top-quality construction and remodeling work at an affordable cost. In memory of his sister-in-law, Valerie, he made a promise to never give up on that dream. After experiencing a stroke in 2016, he finally decided to make that dream a reality.
And in 2018, founding Level Up Services, he fulfilled that promise and never let the gifts he was born with go unused.
“I make sure we prioritize our clients’ satisfaction and work with them through every step of the project to ensure the end results exceed their expectations,” Fields explained. “I wanted to make a difference in my customers’ lives, build relationships with them and be the person they call or refer to their friends for all of their home or business needs.”
At Level Up, Fields and his team are known for the phrase, “yeah, we do that,” offering flooring, painting, tiling, handyman services, custom built-ins, custom lighting and much more. Through it all, customers can be sure that Fields himself will be leading the way.
“As the owner, I am involved in every aspect from start to finish,” he said. “My ultimate goal is to provide quality work and long lasting relationships with my customers. I want to be an example for my children for them to never give up on their dreams and to one day hand over this business to them as my legacy.”
Bluegrass Marble & Granite
At Bluegrass Marble and Granite of Richmond, Lindsey Guzman has been designing countertops for more than five years, developing a speciality for quickly understanding clients’ lifestyles and picking the right products for their homes. She holds certifications in design from the National Stone Institute and, at her Richmond location, offers one of the region’s only locations where clients can see full slabs of natural stone for themselves.
Recently, her approach and vast knowledge of materials made all of the difference for a particularly discerning customer.
“The client wanted something that would stand out, but would also be durable for himself and his guests,” Guzman explained. “Porcelain is the most durable countertop on the market right now and it’s clear to see that the veins and colors can really make a kitchen stand out, offering the perfect solution for this job.” With the ideal material on hand, Guzman and her team delivered a final result that exceeded the client’s expectations. “We wanted to make this house as modern as possible,” she said. “I really feel we achieved that goal.”
Logic Construction
Andrew MuellerSpecializing in commercial tenant, owner and investor buildouts, Logic Construction benefits from the unique expertise of owner Andrew Mueller, who is a licensed commercial real estate broker for the Central Kentucky market in addition to being a seasoned construction pro. “I use my real estate knowledge to help customers best allocate their resources to maximize returns on the investments in the spaces they lease or own,” Mueller explained. “My goal is to be able to minimize downtime and cost to construction projects to keep businesses and investors focused on what they do best.”
In a recent, 3,800-square-foot project, for instance, Mueller served as the general contractor for all trades, working with the owner’s allotted tenant improvement allowance to white-box it and with the tenant’s budget to get it move-in ready. “The project started out as a simple buildout due to budgetary reasons, but after finding out what the owner’s vision was, we were able to give her more than she dreamed of within that budget,” Mueller said. “The job constantly evolved, with input from designers and staff creating a space with great workflow, tailored to their business.”
Dailey Homes
Jimmy Ball
Serving as a second-generation homebuilder, Jimmy Ball completed his first solo home project in 1973 before moving on to construct commercial buildings, multifamily properties and partnering to develop some of Lexington’s most beautiful neighborhoods. Now, celebrating 50 years in the industry, he remains dedicated to the core principles that have led him to so much success at his firm Dailey Homes. “I work with people I trust and with whom I share the same goals,” Ball explained. “Working with trusted contractors and suppliers is extremely important, as is building long-term relationships and standing behind your work. I put extreme value in our customers and vendors.”
Today, Dailey Homes’ foreman is Ball’s son-in-law, Brett Waldrop, who stands out for his organization and ability to communicate with inspectors, tradesmen and suppliers. Meanwhile, Ball’s daughter, Lauren Ball, handles the design and sales of their homes. That gives Jimmy Ball the ability to oversee construction while focusing on acquiring new land and chances to continue building gorgeous homes for years to come. Not to mention, Ball has worked with his wife, Deborah, for decades, so with Dailey Homes it’s a family affair!
“As with all of our homes, our vision is a quality build,” Ball concluded.
Benjamin Deaton Home
Benjamin Deaton
Benjamin Deaton Home is known for offering exclusive lines that can’t be found anywhere else in Lexington, including Bunny Williams Home, Christopher Spitzmiller, George Smith and Chaddock Furniture. And the business’s namesake, Owner Benjamin Deaton, understands that customers will always want the chance to see these unique offerings in person.
“The one thing that will continue is people wanting to see, touch and feel,” he said. “While we have a robust online business that ships out all over the country, people still like to come into the showroom to see things in person. I think we will continue to see growth from that.”
And while offering unique finds, custom upholstery and the types of home goods that elevate dwellings has brought Deaton success, he notes that attempting to reach different markets by diluting those offerings would be a mistake. Instead, the sister business, Benjamin Deaton Interior Design, helps customers who want even more specialized services and customized attention for their homes.
Maintaining the showroom isn’t just the best way to offer customers specialized goods and services. It gives Deaton and his team the chance to enjoy his favorite thing about Lexington: the people.
“Everyone who comes into our store is so nice and I have met so many wonderful people that I probably never would have if I didn’t open up the showroom,” Deaton concluded.
WOW 1 Day Painting
Edward and Melinda Wright
It might be hard to believe that your entire home could be dramatically transformed in just 24 hours, but that’s the reality being delivered routinely to satisfied clients by Wow 1 Day Painting.
“Imagine leaving for work in the morning and coming home to a freshly-painted space,” suggested Edward and Melinda Wright, the business leaders behind Wow. “We’ve perfected our painting process, which means we’re able to deliver a service that is fast, high-quality and ideal for interior or exterior residential and commercial projects.”
Wow 1 Day Painting’s process isn’t just unique in the speed it delivers, but in its precision as well. By coordinating enough friendly, uniformed painters and maintaining excellent communication, its team is fast and effective and eliminates the hassle and mess that usually comes with painting projects. Customers first receive a personalized, detailed proposal with an accurate up-front cost; then they receive a checklist to prepare their space for painting and a walkthrough with the Wow 1 Day team; and finally, they’ll receive a final review of the completed project while it dries to mark any needed touchups, then a follow up to confirm total satisfaction.
“We give you the quality you expect, in a timeline that’s unexpected,” the Wrights said.
5 Common Myths About Your Roof
BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
Your home is your largest investment. Replacing your roof is an extremely important part of protecting your home. The thought of going through a roof replacement is overwhelming to most homeowners. It is an expensive undertaking that requires many decisions to be made.
Unfortunately, the roofing industry as a whole is not known for transparency. At AIC Roofing we take great pride in doing things differently. As part of our effort to provide you with unmatched customer service before, during, and after your roof replacement, today we’ll be outlining the most common roofing myths. With this knowledge, you can confidently interview roofing contractors and make the best decisions for your home.
Myth #1: My new roof can be installed over my old roof
Roof replacements are one of the most expensive components of a home that homeowners may have to replace. Understandably, some homeowners may explore less costly alternatives. A roof replacement is a complete tear-off (down to the decking) of a roof and installing new underlayment, deck protection, and roofing material (shingles, metal, tile, slate, etc.). An overlay is when new shingles are installed on top of the existing roof – old shingles are not removed.
We strongly recommend total roof replacements in every situation. Some companies (AIC Roofing included) will not even offer overlays as part of their options. If you are considering an overlay keep in mind that if a roof with two or more layers needs to be repaired, finding a qualified contractor to work on it can be difficult. Most contractors either will not work on multi-layer roofs, or if they do, they will not provide any warranty on their work. This is due to the inability to accurately diagnose all of the potential issues that are created by the multiple layers. Water can travel between the layers creating misdirection as to the leaks’ actual source, making these leaks difficult and expensive to solve.
One more thing to consider regarding overlays is lifespan. On average, a new roof that is installed as an overlay only lasts about half of the lifespan of a roof that is installed after the old roof is torn off. This means that if you are planning on staying in your home, your next roof replacement could come much sooner than you would expect.
Myth #2: A roof only needs replaced if it’s leaking
By the time a roof starts leaking, your home may already have serious damage that could have been avoided with proper maintenance or timely replacement.
However, a roof leak does not necessarily mean it’s time for a replacement. A roof leak could result from a small, repairable issue or it could be a symptom of a larger problem. To extend the life of your roof for as long as possible, we recommend an annual roof inspection. This will help catch any of the small reasons for a leak.
The typical asphalt roof lasts for 20-25 years. Over time, the elements will break down your shingles. Even if a roof isn’t leaking, it may still need to be replaced to ensure your home is properly protected.
Myth #3: Darker shingles result in higher energy costs
Don’t let this myth keep you from installing the charcoal roof of your dreams. Dark colored shingles will absorb more sunlight compared
Lexington: 859-243-0015
Richmond: 859-972-7340
with lighter colored shingles. However, this will not make a tangible difference in your energy costs.
Your attic insulation and proper installation of your roofing ventilation are critical to regulating the temperature of your roof and home – not your shingle color. Roofing ventilation is extremely important to ensuring your roof does not experience dry rot that will compromise the structural integrity of your home and roof deck.
Myth #4: Roof replacements don’t have a high return on investment
Replacing your roof is a big undertaking. It is an expensive project and requires many decisions to be made. Understandably, many homeowners worry about their return on investment when it comes to their roof replacement. According to the 2022 National Association of Realtors Research Group, new roofing was one of only two exterior home projects that yielded an astounding 100% cost recovery for homeowners. This is because home buyers value the critical protection and curb appeal offered by your roof. Roof replacements can feel stressful, but rest assured knowing you’re making a smart investment in your home.
The excellent return on investment is another reason to stop putting off your roof replacement. The damage that could be caused by a neglected roof can needlessly snowball into thousands of dollars. Similarly, metal accent roofs are a great way to add no maintenance curb appeal to your home. At a comparable price to landscaping, the 100% cost recovery associated with new roofing comes with no expensive upkeep and will last for decades to come.
Myth #5: All roofing contractors are the same
This is absolutely not the case. Not all roofing contractors are the same; some may be inexperienced, lack proper insurance or licenses, or use substandard materials.
Every roofing contractor will have to obtain licenses and insurance policies required by their specific city
and state (although some may skip this step entirely!). In addition to these policies and licenses, roofing contractors can earn various mastery certifications. These certifications are typically awarded by roofing material manufacturers if the contractor meets certain requirements. Top-tier certificates can take years, and hundreds of hours to earn.
GAF is North America’s #1 shingle manufacturer, there are three levels of accreditations in their certification program. Those three levels are Authorized, Certified, and MasterElite, with the latter being their top tier credential. In total, the MasterElite certification is the highest recognition offered by GAF, and only 2% of roofing contractors are invited to become GAF MasterElite certified.
In order to receive this certification, a roofing contractor must have been in business for a minimum of seven years, participate in yearly training, undergo periodic inspections of their work, and be in good standing with organizations such as the Better Business Bureau.
At AIC Roofing & Construction, we proudly hold GAF’s highest certification, the MasterElite level. With this comes additional warranties, and services levels that are unavailable to other contractors. With our MasterElite certification, AIC can offer the Golden Pledge warranty which includes a 25-year workmanship warranty from GAF, this is a best-in-class warranty!
The Truth: Roof Maintenance Helps Prevent Issues
To keep your roof in tip top shape and catch issues before they wrack up thousands in damages, we recommend annual roof inspections. Roof inspections are free and the most preventative measure you can take for extending the life of your roof. Unfortunately, the roofing industry does not offer much insight when it comes to pricing and other critical information. We want to change that. Our online Learning Center has answers to all your roofing questions to help you make an informed, confident decision about this important investment.
AIC Roofing and Construction has served homeowners in Louisville, Lexington and Richmond since 2003. We are in the top 2% of roofing contractors in North America to obtain the GAF MasterElite certification. If you’re looking for a top-rated Lexington roofing company – we’d love to see if we would be a good fit for your project. Contact us today to schedule your free roof inspection! •

Green Space
The benefits of our lush outdoor spaces are many. We’re planning our yards more mindfully in 2023. As you work on your garden, lawn or backyard oasis, here are some things to keep in mind as you “go green.”
by: allyson mattinglyMental Health
Not only do we use our gardens for beauty and entertainment, but since the world shut down for two years, we’ve also depended on them for a pick-me-up in the mental health department.
Getting outdoors can automatically improve your mood, provide some nourishing Vitamin D, and allow you to get fresh air that you won’t get sitting inside all day. You’ll feel productive after working to beautify your home! Plus, according to the American Cancer Society, people who garden see amazing mental and physical health benefits! Gardening can be a mindful activity that occupies your thoughts. Next time you need to take your mind off something, try going outside, basking in the sun, and tending to your beautiful garden.
Sustainability
Eco-friendly, sustainable gardening is always on trend! With the extreme weather over the past few years, more and more people are turning to climate-conscious designs for their lawns. To avoid water-intensive gardens, you can replace the typical grass and soil combo with alternatives like clover, gravel, or native plants that require far less upkeep.
“Xeriscaping” is a landscape system that requires little to no irrigation for your beloved plants. As changes in climate continue to occur, so will the way gardeners respond to droughts. This system has become increasingly popular with increased education concerning the concept. Luckily, there’s room for plenty of creativity and experimenting with designs through xeriscaping, especially by utilizing native plants that are already well-suited to the conditions they’re in.
Meadowscapes
Rather than keeping their lawn freshly manicured, many homeowners are opting to let their plants go beyond the flower bed. Meadow gardens are a great low-maintenance, high-reward way to create some curb appeal thanks to their “natural, unfussy, and informal nature,” as our friend Martha Stewart would say.
Meadow gardens also appeal to many gardeners for their benefit to our buzzing bee population and other garden creatures. A freshly cut, weed-free lawn isn’t exactly wildlife-friendly, so people are starting to embrace the unloved, such as weeds like dandelions and chickweed. These easily blend into their surroundings in a meadow garden, making your space more full, vibrant, and accessible to pollinators and other garden friends! Get the Old-World charm of a meadowscape by planting organic shapes and textures, like mixing trees and shrubs with unfussy wildflowers, herbs, gravel paths, and unique stones. Weaving the plants and allowing them to grow naturally will give you your own whimsical secret garden.
Tech Gardens
To an experienced gardener, it may be a pretty intuitive process, but technology is making gardening even more accessible. Smart gardening can save you time, money, and maybe a bit of frustration while producing some of the healthiest plants you’ve had in your garden. From smart watering systems to apps that can help you identify plants and design your outdoor space, it’s time to work smarter – not harder – in your garden sanctuary.
Though technology doesn’t always equate with sustainability, smart gardening can also help you lower your carbon footprint, making the world a better place for your plants to thrive! Tools like rechargeable electric-powered lawnmowers and weeders can help you cut down on emissions and save you so much time in the hot summer sun.
Xeriscape /ˈzerəˌskāp/ verb
:landscape (an area) in a style which requires little or no irrigation
: a landscaping method developed especially for arid and semiarid climates that utilizes water-conserving techniques (such as the use of drought-tolerant plants, mulch, and efficient irrigation)
Cottagecore
If you’re not familiar with cottagecore, the concept embraces a simple, sustainable lifestyle with aesthetic nods to the romantic English countryside. Basically, grab a smock dress and an herb basket and you will be well on your way to becoming a regular Laura Ingalls Wilder.
In these types of gardens, you might see more traditional blooms like roses, hydrangeas, and lilacs, but you’ll also see the beautiful flora paired with edible crops and resilient native plants. Growing your own fruits, veggies, and herbs in your own garden isn’t only fulfilling but is cheaper and healthier than buying from big grocery stores. Add a few chickens and you’ll be living a cottagecore dream in no time!
In & Out
Homeowners are mixing things up by bringing the inside out and the outside in! Houseplants create lush, relaxing living spaces, and luckily, unique indoor plants have never been easier to find. In homes with central HVAC systems, the heat and dry air can be damaging to plants, so if you’re a fan of the exotic types, be sure to keep your home set a bit cooler. As an indoor plant parent, taking care of houseplants can be difficult if you don’t have the greenest of thumbs. Some of the easiest plants to keep alive for beginners are snake plants, pothos, ZZ plants, philodendrons, and some varieties of palms. If you think you’ll have a hard time keeping these plants alive, you can also download apps that give you tips and tricks to keep your babies thriving!
Meanwhile, on the outside, people want to feel like they’re taking a mini-vacation when they step out into their garden. With high-tech pizza ovens, fire pits, water features, comfortable furniture, luxury greenhouses, and more, homeowners will have a hard time getting guests to leave for the night!
Color Trends
Though many people are sticking with nature’s theme of “green,” many are embracing pops of color throughout their gardens. Bring joy to your next gardening project with plants like sunflowers, verbenas, lavender, and so many more.
The big trend this year – thanks to Pantone’s color of the year, Viva Magenta – is a berry-red tone perfectly balanced between warm and cool tones. Just some of the gorgeous plant varieties of this hue include “Titan Cranberry” vinca, “Glimmer Burgundy Double” impatiens, or “Ka-Pow Pink” garden phlox.

S ad
1/2 lb. asparagus
15 oz. can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 carrot, peeled and chopped
5 radishes, sliced
1 Persian cucumber, chopped
1/2 c. red onion, chopped
1/2 c. cherry tomato halves
1/2 c. bell pepper, chopped
1/2 c. crumbled feta
1/4 tsp. fresh thyme
Dressing:
1/4 c. olive oil
1/8 c. champagne vinegar
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/4 tsp. fresh thyme
Quickly blanch asparagus, then remove to ice bath to cool. Dry, then slice into 1-2” pieces.
Add asparagus, chickpeas, carrot, radishes, cucumber, onions, tomatoes and pepper to a large bowl.
Whisk together dressing ingredients. Pour half over the salad, and toss to combine, reserving half for later.
Season salad lightly with salt and pepper, to taste. Let chill until ready to serve, at least 1 hour. (adapted from The View from Great Island)
Note: Feel free to play around with the ingredient list! The point of this salad is to be bright, fresh and easy – all the chopped veggies make this a perfect weeknight or potluck option. Olives, sundried tomatoes, avocado, peas or pine nuts would all be welcome to this party.
If you want this to be a truly no-cook salad, it’s not necessary to blanch your asparagus. This step just removes some of the “raw” flavor. You may prefer smaller pieces or shaved asapargus.
On the other hand, if you don’t mind a little cooking, roasting the asparagus, peppers and tomatoes would be delish!

SOUTHERN PIMENTO CHEESE
A true southern Georgia girl, Paula Deen really knows what she’s doing when it comes to pimento cheese. Serve with another simple classic, Saltine crackers.
WHAT YOU NEED:
• 1/2 cup mayonnaise
• 1 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
• 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
• 1/2 (8-oz) package cream cheese, room temp.
• 3 tablespoons diced pimentos
• 2 teaspoons grated onion
• 1/4 teaspoon Paula Deen House Seasoning
• Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
WHAT YOU DO:
Add the mayonnaise, cheeses, cream cheese, pimentos, onion, seasoning, and salt and pepper in a large bowl. Beat the mixture together with an electric mixer at medium speed until smooth and well-combined. Serve it with white bread or soda crackers.
MINI BOURBON CHOCOLATE PECAN PIES
What’s better than a fresh chocolate pecan pie with Kentucky bourbon? Mini pecan pies!
WHAT YOU NEED:
CRUST
• 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
• 1 ½ cups unbleached allpurpose flour
• ¼ cup granulated sugar
• ½ teaspoon kosher salt
• ¼ cup water, ice cold (plus additional, depending on how the dough comes together)
WHAT YOU DO:
FILLING
• ½ cup pecans, chopped
• ½ cup dark chocolate chips
• 6 tbsp dark brown sugar
• 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
• 2 tablespoons bourbon
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a mini muffin baking pan liberally with nonstick baking spray. Set aside.
MAKE THE CRUST
In a medium-sized bowl, measure out the flour, sugar and salt. Whisk until combined.
Using a pastry cutter, cut the cream cheese into the dry ingredients, mixing until the mixture looks like wet sand. Slowly drizzle in the water, and stir together with a spoon, mixing until the ingredients just come together. Set aside.
MAKE THE FILLING
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, vanilla extract, butter and bourbon until combined. Add the pecans and chocolate chips. Set aside.
PREPARE AND BAKE PIES
Scoop a tablespoon of the dough into your hand. Roll into a ball, then set in the prepared muffin tin. Using your thumb, create a large indention in the middle, making sure to let the dough climb the sides of the tin. Repeat until all of the crust has been used and is in place in the pan.
Carefully drizzle a tablespoon of the filling into the crusts. Be careful not to drizzle too much outside of the crusts, or it will become sticky and stick to the muffin tin.
When all the pies have been filled, place the mini muffin tin on a large baking sheet, and transfer into the oven. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the tops have browned slightly, then remove from the oven and let cool before eating.

TRADITIONS a a o t
Rose Garlands
The nickname “Run for the Roses” comes from the famous rose garland, which symbolizes the determination and heart it takes to get to the Kentucky Derby Winner’s Circle. The red rose became the official flower of the Derby in 1904, and the rest is history! Crown your own festivities with a wreath of roses, like this horseshoe wreath from Etsy.
Derby Hats
The outrageous, spectacular hats and fascinators you see at Churchill Downs are a long-running, fashionable tradition of the Kentucky Derby. Once a tactic to lure more high-class people to the event, the Derby is now just as much about fashion as it is the racing! This year’s featured Milliner, Jenny Pfanenstiel, recommends keeping your face shape, height, physique, and hair length in mind when choosing your hat, as this is your statement piece at the races. Make sure not to pick a hat that you will be messing with all day, because you don’t want to miss the most exciting two minutes in sports! For more tips on picking derby hats, you can visit the Formé Millinery Co. website.
The Mint Julep
The Mint Julep has been the official drink of the Kentucky Derby for nearly a century, with Churchill Downs serving about 120,000 Mint Juleps on Derby weekend each year. You’ll typically find this bourbon cocktail served in a stainless steel silver cup, giving the drink an extra bit of je ne sai quoi as you carry around your frosted beverage. Like any good hostess, having a signature cocktail at your Derby party will have everyone begging to be invited next year.
If you’re wanting to branch out from tradition, put your own spin on the classic mint julep with a peach blossom julep, cherries and cream julep, blackberry mint julep, or a pineapple julep!
Wagering
What’s a party without games, or the Kentucky Derby without betting? Even if you don’t know anything about wagering or horse racing, it’s still fun to cheer on your horse during the race with your friends. You can find cute betting cards for your guests to choose their pick on Etsy, or in true Thoroughbred fashion, hold a horse auction! Auction off each horse in the race, with the favorite going for a higher price. Add the auction sum to a pool, cheer on your pick, and whoever bought the winning horse wins the pool!
What is your name?
Jack Pattie, John Richardson Pattie
Where were you born?
Lexington KY
Who are your Mom and Dad?
Dorothy and William
Fondest memory of your Mom and Dad?
Wonderful memories of my Mom. My parents were divorced when I was nine years old, not so much of my Dad. My Mom died a month before her 97th birthday two years ago. She was an icon.
Do you have any siblings?
I have a brother, Russell who lives here and he’s getting ready to move to New York. He has three grandkids north of New York City and they want to be around those kids.
Tell me about your wife.
I’ve been married more than once. My first wife’s name was Debbie, and we had two daughters together. One’s name is Angel and is special needs. I’m still very involved in her life. My other daughter’s name is Jenny, who helps in Angel’s care. Then I was married to a school teacher and entrepreneurial lady, then after 10 years of marriage lost her to lung cancer. My current wife is Julie. She spent 30 years with the state helping poeple with disabilities and just retired a couple of years ago.
What are your children’s names?
Angel and Jenny
Where did you go to college?
I didn’t go to college. I grew up in the north end of town, I went to Bryan Station High School through my sophomore year, then we moved to the south end, and went to Tates Creek High School. There I met Mr. Terrell Whitaker, who was involved in then Channel 62, and 1300 WVLG radio and he helped me get my first job in radio. Had it not been for him, I’m not sure what I’d be doing today.
What was your first job?
A little radio station in Georgetown WAXU, Top Gun Country. I was 16 years old and that was way before Country was cool.
20 questions with Paul Chartier
How long have you lived in Lexington?
All my life.
When did you start at VLK?
I was given an opportunity as Program Director at WLAP, and was there for a year. I was horrible at it, I’m not management material. I was fired after a year; the worst thing that could happen ended up being the best thing that could happen, because I came back to WVLK and I’ve been here ever since 1981.
Favorite memory at VLK?
I was in the car with a Disc Jockey from VLK by the name of Denny Mitchell. I couldn’t stop talking to him because I knew I wanted to be in radio, and he said ‘why don’t you come to the station and hang out?’ So that’s what I did for the first few years. Those memores are golden.
Favorite type of music?
I like Jazz and Rock, but don’t care for heavy metal.
Favorite charity you support?
Cardinal Hill Hospital. We were told that Angel would never walk and learned about Cardinal Hill’s preschool therapy. The therapist there was told that the Neurologist said Angel would never walk and she said ‘you watch’. My daugher’s knees were backward, and this therapist took tennis balls, wrapped them behind Angels’s knees to keep her knees from going backward, and got a toy grocery cart, weighted it down with canned goods and she learned how to walk pushing that grocery cart. I will always be forever indebted to Cardinal Hill.
What do you like to do for fun?
We like to travel, but we mainly like to be home doing nothing. We are both true crime junkies.
jack pattie
Who is your hero?
Probably Terrell Whitaker who helped me get my first job in the business. I’m so fortunate to be going almost 54 years now to work every day to a job that I absolutely love.
One thing people are surprised to know about you?
I’m pretty transparent and I usually wear shorts to work.
How long have you been Lexington’s Santa Claus?
I started that when I was in the 4th Grade. It was the only time in my school history that I was the teachers pet. We had a Christmas program at school, and I got to be Santa; I was able to fit the costume. They put spirit gum on my face and placed the beard on it. From that experience, at the age of nine, I believed I’d be Santa some day. I started in 2006 looking for and buying costumes and did my research. I had a Santa idol, Brady White, and I believed he was the best Santa in the world. I copied Brady in a lot of ways, and got an offer to do Miracle on 34th Street as Kris Kringle with the Woodford Co Theater. In addition to being Santa at several places, it grew from there. I love doing it! It’s truly a gift.
What do you love about all of your years in Lexington?
I love the city. I love getting people close to my age together and remiscing about the old days. I love doing that.
One thing you’d like to share with the people of Lexington:
I hope you enjoy the gift it is to live in this city. It’s one thing to live in a great city, it’s another thing to live in a great city and to know it and appreciate it.

cinco mayo de
what is cinco de mayo?
On May 5, 1862, greatly-outnumbered, out-gunned Mexican forces defeated the French at the Battle of Puebla. While the French would eventually take Mexico City, this victory inspired a sense of patriotism and pride throughout Mexico.
People often confuse this holiday with Mexican Independence Day, which is actually September 16th. Don’t be that guy!
Cinco de Mayo is actually more popular in the United States than in Mexico. This holiday has been continuously celebrated since 1863 in California. For that reason, it is seen by many as a celebration of MexicanAmerican culture. While some of Theodore Roosevelt’s policies helped spread awareness of Cinco de Mayo, the holiday didn’t really gain popularity across the United States until the 1980s, when beer companies began using it as a marketing technique.
how is cinco de mayo celebrated?
As we mentioned before, Cinco de Mayo has become a celebration of Mexican-American culture and heritage. From folk dancing to traditional music, it’s a lively celebration. Most people celebrate at their favorite Mexican restaurant. Most of those eateries have drink specials, live music and more excitement to entertain their guests!
We mentioned before that beverage companies helped popularize this holiday. For that reason, the unofficial drinks of Cinco de Mayo are cerveza and margaritas! If you’re out and about, try an imported Mexican beer or a margarita to toast the holiday.
Most of us would be downright disappointed if our favorite eatery didn’t have a mariachi band on Cinco de Mayo. Check their Facebook page for schedules – these musicians are in high demand on May 5th, so they might only be at your favorite spot for a short time! But don’t worry; most have other entertainment lined up. If nothing else, the festive atmosphere will keep you plenty occupied while you dine!
As for particular events, check eventbrite for the latest. There are often bar crawls, seated dinners and more. Since Cinco de Mayo falls on Oaks Day this year, expect lots of buzz around central Kentucky!

Th Dram Factr
by: kate savage INSPIRATIONSThe Dream Factory is the largest children’s wish-granting organization that does not limit its mission to children with life-threatening illnesses. The organization believes children with chronic illnesses and disorders such as epilepsy also suffer from substantial emotional and physical pain and are often limited in their normal childhood experiences because of these conditions and the circumstantial difficulties that have to be overcome.
The Dream Factory began in 1980 with an all-volunteer chapter in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Since then, it has grown into the largest all-volunteer children’s wish-granting organization in the United States with 38 local chapters, one of which is in Lexington. Some members of Lexington’s chapter have been with the agency since its formation 36 years ago.
Dreams are granted to children ages 3-18, and they are eligible if they have been diagnosed with critical or chronic illnesses. Requests typically are submitted by parents, teachers, doctors, social workers, family members or friends. Over time Lexington has granted 920 dreams averaging around 24 a year. “The only dreams that we ever turn away are ones that don’t fit within our policies and national chapter guidelines,” said Jennifer Hurst, local chapter President. “For example, we don’t do anything with motorized vehicles. Some children have a dream of a golf cart. We also can’t do anything with animals as dream requests because of the liability piece,” she added.
Socioeconomic status is not a consideration. Although there is a national cap to the funding of any one dream that all chapters must follow, Hurst was anxious to stress that no one is turned away. “During the application process, we seek assurances that it really is the child’s dream,” she said. “Whenever possible, and if the child is old enough and verbal, we will talk to them to make sure that the dream isn’t something that the parents want for them. We want to hear it from their heart,” she said. Dreams are granted in the order they are received. Some are more elaborate and take a while to fulfill, and some are more expensive, but the process is systematic unless there is a child who is terminally ill and the need to grant the dream is immediate. In this case, the child will jump the line based on the seriousness of the illness and the length of time the doctors have given the child.
“A favorite dream – and one that comes up over and over again – is a trip to Disney,” said Hurst. “We like to include the entire family on these dream trips as we know that they are all going through the illness and trials together.” Some of the older “kiddos,” as Hurst affectionately calls them, are interested in a celebrity meeting or a new computer. “We have an older girl right now who wants to meet Morgan Wallen. Others have requested an Alaskan cruise or a trip to Italy.”
Shopping sprees are also a popular “dream.” Boys typically want the latest, greatest gaming system, and girls, a trip to the mall. Hurst recalled a time when the request was for a backyard “heshed.” The young boy provided a list specifying how he wanted it equipped – a gaming system, a gaming chair, a Keurig with a year’s supply of hot chocolate and Coke Zero. Hurst said, “when you ask, they always know what is in their dreams.”
To a seriously ill child, the opportunity to enjoy the simple pleasures of childhood can be the best medicine of all. It may be the inspiration that motivates the child to hang in there through a time of great suffering and continuous treatments. “It’s seeing their sweet little faces when you know they are bravely battling their critical or chronic conditions and knowing that making their dream come true might get them over the next challenge; this is the reward of volunteering,” said Hurst.
Because The Dream Factory is an all-volunteer organization, 96.1% of all money raised is used to grant dreams. They raise money once a year at their DREAM GALA, this year to be held on Saturday, 22nd April at the Central Bank Center. Tickets available at: lexingtondreamfactory.org •
When you ask, they always know what is in their dreams.
