NEW YEAR’S EVE

ENJOY RESPONSIBLY | ENJOY RESPONSIBLY | ENJOY RESPONSIBLY | ENJOY RESPONSIBLY

Enjoy It! In order to make the most of your NYE experience, here are some tips to keep your night rockin’. - Have a theme song. An amp-up, my night WILL be awesome song. A song that makes you want to shake your booty. A song that will forever scream NYE2012 to you!

- Get your hands on some confetti. Whatever confetti that venue you’re partying in will drop, see if you can con someone into giving you some. Keep it at the ready to drop at midnight. - Eat something. Especially if you’ll be drinking later. You’ve got to keep your energy up!

- Go bold with your attire. Dress to the nines. It doesn’t matter if you’re headed to a small dinner or a huge party, dress up. Wear makeup way more flashy than you’d try normally, break out your shiny shoes, don a hat, wear that blinky tie... whatever you can do to make sure you feel phenomenal in what you wear.

- Toast! You must toast. You don’t necessarily have to toast with champagne--a beer, a glass of water or some sparkling cider will do! But the clink of glasses will help make the whole thing real.

- Make a plan with friends. Know where you’re meeting, what time and when you’ll be headed home. This will save the “you guys are all lame” or “where the heck are you” bummers later.

- Have day-after plans. Meet for brunch, host a day-after dinner or agree to catch up with your pals over coffee before you all tumble into bed. Come up with some way to relax and reflect on your NYE fun.

- DANCE. Seriously, dance your pants off.

We Dare You To...

Looking for a New Year’s resolution? We challenge you to try these ideas in 2012!

Improve Your OVERALL Health Take Up a New Sport There’s no reason to wait until the warmer days of spring to start getting active and having fun. There are lots of venues that can help you practice a sport without ever having to step outside. Whether you choose to take on golf lessons, batting practice, swinging a racquet or just running your heart out, it’s a great time to start fresh with your fitness routine by making it fun and challenging.

Most people take this time of year to resolve to lose weight. While that’s a great commitment to make, this year, resolve to be healthy in all aspects of your life, not just the number of times you hit the gym. How do you do that? Whether it’s drinking more water, flossing after every meal, eating more veggies, laughing more often or taking the stairs at work, it’s all great! Remember that wellness includes the heart and soul, as well. Do things that make you relaxed, happy and more present in each and every moment. That’s the key!

Shop Healthier Conventional wisdom tells us not to go grocery shopping on an empty stomach. That’s definitely true, but there are a lot of other ways to ensure your cart gets full of the good stuff. - Plan meals ahead of time. Make a list and shop from that list. If you know which fruits and veggies you will need, you’ll have a plan for cooking them instead of letting them go bad in the fridge. - Know your produce. Know what’s in season and what to look for in terms of freshness and quality. Also know what buzzwords like “organic” really mean. For some foods, organic and commercially-grown are one in the same, just at a different price. - Find healthier substitutes. Some fruits and vegetables are naturally high in sugars, nutrients and minerals that you may not necessarily need depending on your health and overall dietary needs. Do some research into your favorites and find suggestions for other produce you might like. - Find the best time to shop. Finding a time to shop that lets you leisurely browse with zero stress will lead to better choices!

LexScene Magazine | 45 44 | www.LexScene.com

Clean Out Your Product Drawer

Exfoliate!

Beauty products begin to go bad as soon as they’re opened. Bacteria grows within them, which can result in unfortunate skin conditions and other icky situations. Be sure to chuck products that are past their prime. These are general guidelines. (Also pay attention to on-bottle expiration dates. If it expires before this time frame, toss it!) Eyeliner: 3 months Mascara: 3 months Lip gloss: 3-6 months Sunscreen: 6 months Lipstick: 1 year Foundation: 1 year Concealer: 1 year Hair products: 1 year Powder: 2 years Eyeshadow: 2 years Fragrance: 2-5 years

Stash a sugar scrub or exfoliating cream in your shower and take care of your legs, arms, elbows and knees before you finish your morning routine.

Choose a New ‘Poo Choosing shampoos, conditioners and hair products that are actually good for your hair can be difficult. Many shampoos are basically the same list of ingredients you can expect to see on floor cleaners. That ain’t good! Look for products that are chemically less harsh. There are lots of alternatives on good ol’ Google. Many people are choosing to skip products that contain silicones. Silicone-based products coat the hair shaft, sealing moisture OUT of the hair. In the short term, silicone-based products make hair look sleeker; in the long run, they make hair quite dry. Another hair trend? Not shampooing at all! Before you get squicked out, realize this doesn’t mean tons of people are skipping cleaning their hair altogether! The process involves using apple cider vinegar, a baking soda mix or lemon juice to clean the scalp, followed up by the distribution of conditioner throughout the hair. Look it up!

Put a Bold(er) Face Forward It can be as simple as cracking out your evening makeup routine on a Wednesday afternoon or as intensive as freshening up your entire beauty routine. Whatever it is you do now to prepare your face for the world, step it up this year to ensure that you’re glowing, fierce and fabulous. Need some inspiration? Here are some ideas: - Wear tame false eyelashes to work one day a week - Visit a dermatologist for advice and product tips - Trade your usual smoky eye shadows for purple, navy or greens, or a different neutral. - Dare to go bare! Lighten up the makeup load a day a week if your typical product load is heavy. - Wear sunscreen! Moisturize! Exfoliate! Remove makeup before bedtime! All that stuff you know you should do, but never make time for.

We Dare You To... Take Cooking Classes Lexington’s culinary scene is booming right now! Benefit from the trend by expanding your cooking knowledge. If you’re shy, sign up with a friend, family member or sweetheart for a fun evening that will have some tasty benefits for years to come!

Try That One Restaurant Spice It Up: Baja Shrimp Cocktail

1 avocado, diced 1 or 2 cucumbers, diced 1 medium red onion, diced 1/2 bunch cilantro, chopped 3/4 cup chopped tomato 1 lb jumbo tiger shrimp, peeled, de-veined and steamed 1/2 cup ketchup 1 qtr cup shrimp stock Juice of two freshly squeezed limes Juice of one freshly squeezed orange 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced 4 dashes Tapatio hot sauce (optional) if you’d like to spice it up. Pepper to taste

Directions 1. Prepare the shrimp. Bring 1 1/2 to 2 quarts water to a boil, add the shrimp and cook them until they are just done--about 5 min. They are usually done about the time the water returns to a boil, and you can test them by periodically removing one from the pot with tongs or a slotted spoon and cutting into it at its thickest point. They are done when entirely opaque. Immediately immerse the shrimp in ice-water to stop them from overcooking. When the shrimp have been chilled drain and dry them, and place them in the refrigerator. * Do not over-cook the shrimp, as they will become tough!

If you don’t give it a try, you’ll never know what you’re missing. Lexington’s restaurants offer an incredible selection of culinary delights that most people miss out on because they’re intimidated by the atmosphere, afraid to experiment or simply forget what’s out there! If you’re lost for inspiration, try UrbanSpoon’s roulette app. Lock in a location, cuisine or price point and give it a shake--they’ll serve up a recommendation lickety-split.

...Then Cook At Home If you dine out a lot, make a new tradition for cooking at home. Choose one night a week when you know you’ll be having dinner at home. If it helps, invite friends over to make it a regular social event. Save money by having a potluck or rotating where it will be held--one week at your house, one week at your friend’s.

2. Make the sauce. To make the sauce, combine all the sauce ingredients in a large bowl and chill it in the refrigerator 3. Finish the cocktails. To make the cocktails, mix the chilled shrimp and sauce and spoon into 12 ounce decorative glass, or another serving dish of your choice and serve with limes, Tapatio sauce and saltines. Spend More Time With Family & Friends When you’re a busy young professional, it’s so easy to get behind on quality time with family and friends. In 2012, try to change that! - Budget out a specific time for family and friends. Put it on your calendar. It may be easiest to block out a specific, consistent time each week for this, which will help you remember not to double-book your time. - Make plans. Whether you choose to catch a movie, take a stroll around the park or share dinner together, have an idea of what you’d like to do. Knowing how you’ll spend your time together will help motivate everyone to keep your date. - Start a tradition. Whether you want to host Taco Tuesdays or make the first Saturday of every month a Movie Night, starting a new gettogether tradition is always fun! - Be spontaneous! If you decide to head out for the evening on a fun little adventure and there’s room in your party for more, invite your crew along. Maybe you’ve just taken a craving for ice cream or you think you’d like to stop into the book store, give your friends or family a call and see if they’d like to come. Face it--they’re probably bored, too! - When all else fails... If you try and try to spend some time with your friends and family and just can’t seem to make it work, consider broadening your social circle. You don’t need to replace your friends, but you will be happier if you find friends who are more available.

Surviving January A simple guide for making it through Kentucky’s winter months LexScene Magazine | 53 52 | www.LexScene.com

Once the joy of Christmas and New Year’s has passed, the cold, dark days of winter take their toll on nearly everyone. What are some tactics for making it through this snowy, icy, frigid month? Buy some lights. Seasonal Affective Disorder is real. The US Library of Medicine says that, “some people experience a serious mood change when the seasons change. They may sleep too much, have little energy, and may also feel depressed.” Cravings for carbs, difficulty concentrating and a general feeling of ennui are all characteristics of SAD. Lighting up your home is an easy way to feel better this winter. Full-spectrum lights are most helpful. Putting lights on timers or getting lights that simulate normal daytime hours can be helpful, as well. Build a literal survival kit. Be prepared for Snowmageddon or Iceocalypse 2012. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests that you build an emergency kit for inside your home and vehicle. Simple items like candles, matches, batteries, canned food and flashlights can make power outages and breakdowns feel a lot less awful. But what about a FUN survival kit? While you wrap up your holiday shopping, pick up a few toys, trinkets, hobby kits or board games for yourself. Moisturize! The wonderful hot air coming out of heater vents is wrecking your skin. That infernal cold air blowing in your face when you go outside is wrecking your skin. Invest in winter moisturizers for your face, hands and lips. Even if your skin is normal to oily, you may need a dry-skin moisturizer in these cold winter months. Bundle Up. A lot of people say that Kentucky winters are no big deal, but those people are clearly former explorers of the Arctic Circle. Wellies, scarves, gloves, thick coats, vests, sweaters, socks... having toasty clothes is key this time of year in Kentucky.

To save some money on your electric bill (which will definitely make February a whole lot happier,) wear warmer clothes indoors, as well, and turn your thermostat down. Slippers, cozy flannel pants and warm blankets can make you feel snug and safe in your abode. The easiest way to make January feel a whole lot nicer? Invest in a new coat, a new pair of boots, a new hat or a great scarf. Choose something in a bold, beautiful color. If you have kids... Keep them entertained! January means tons and tons of snow days. What can you do to keep the troops happy? Play dress-up, bake, do puzzles, make crafts, paint, make up songs, make snow angels, do chores, build a fort or just snuggle by the fire. All the hustling from indoors to outdoors, all the cramped quarters and all the germs flying around means your kids are susceptible to sickness this time of year. Be sure to wash everyone’s hands frequently, cough/sneeze into the crook of your arms and take your vitamins! Being cooped up all winter is bad enough--being cooped up while you’re sick is so much worse. Can’t get over your grumpiness? Let it out. Write a list of all the things that are making you feel like a grump. Highlight, underline and asterisk the things that are really, really buggin’ you. Now think about them. How remote are they? How many can you tackle right now? How many are things you can fix as easily as changing your perspective on them? Tackle your list, then burn it. Make the most of it! Explore to find great places to go sledding. Build snowmen. Have snowball fights. Sip cocoa while you watch the snow fall. Help your neighbor shovel their driveway. Buy Valentine’s gifts early, and take as much joy in wrapping them as you did at Christmastime. Savor the warmth of the fire. Snuggle up on the couch with a fluffy blanket and your favorite pet. Forget the slick roads, freezing rain and treacherous conditions. Just relax for a while and enjoy the wonder of winter.

Easy French Entertaining Such a thing is certainly possible with a little planning. Don’t fret over boeuf bourguignon or fancy-label wines. Just make the most of what you’ve already got!

LexScene Magazine | 55 54 | www.LexScene.com

Put some “Ooh ooh lala” into your entertaining by incorporating dishes with a French twist. Paired with wine and bread, dinner can be elegant but deceptively easy. Having guests over can feel effortless Paris chic! You don’t have to put on accordion music and don an ascot to set the mood, however. Simply create a relaxed, welcoming environment for your guests. Imagine you’re inviting your guests into your home exactly as it is, but maybe it’s sporting a pearl necklace and contemplating a summer holiday in Nice.

Dress Your Table in French Style: Tablecloth and coordinating placemats Wine glasses Large wood cutting board and cheese knives Simple white trays and dishes Wood salad bowl Carafe of water Vase or pitcher full of flowers

Baked Pommes Frites 6 potatoes 1/4 c extra virgin olive oil Salt and pepper Preheat the oven to 450. Peel potatoes and cut into 1/4in thick fries. Place in cold water. Just before cooking, drain water and pat try with paper towel. Toss with olive oil, salt and pepper. Lay out in one layer on a baking sheet. Bake until light brown, then continute to bake while begin turning frequently until golden brown.

Braised Broccoli Rabe 2 lbs broccoli rabe 2 cloves garlic 1 onion 3 T extra virgin olive oil 3 T chicken stock

Appetizer: Do a spread of a few great cheeses, like brie, chambert and goat cheese. Slice a baguette and offer fresh greens, cut apples and grapes. Spread this out on the cutting board and let people serve themselves from the delights offered.

Mince, then saute onions for 3 mins, add garlic and cook an additional 2 mins. Wash and slice broccoli rabe. Add to skillet and saute 3 mins. Add in stock and cook, covered, for 3 additional 3 mins.

The Meal: Savory French cooking CAN be simple! And get Julia Child out of your head--there’s no need for everything to be full of butter and cream.

Merlot and Cream Sauce

Dessert: Chocolate, of course! Or, for something lighter, switch back to your fresh fruit and pair it with yogurt or vanilla ice cream.

Have fun with your guests, and have a bon soir together!

1 1/2c Merlot 1 c heavy cream 1 T tomato paste 2 tsp Dijon mustard 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley 1/4 tsp salt Dash cayenne pepper Reduce Merlot to half volume over medium heat. Add tomato paste, seasonings and mustard. Whisk until smooth. Add cream and simmer until reduced by half and thickened. Serve over steak.

Good Luck Dishes LexScene Magazine | 57 56 | www.LexScene.com

Black Eyed Peas It’s a southern tradition that black eyed peas are to bring good luck and prosperity to the family when eaten on New Year’s Day. There’s a lesser-known tradition that you shouldn’t eat chicken or turkey on that day. Otherwise, you’ll end up scratching in the dirt all year--which is to say that you’ll be in poverty for the year. As such, here’s a meatless Hoppin’ John recipe. New Year’s Eve Hoppin’ John 1 c frozen corn 3 medium carrots, sliced thinly 1 can black eyed pead 1 can diced tomatoes 3/4 c long grain rice 1/2 c chopped green peppers 1/2 c chopped red peppers 1/2 c chopped yellow peppers 1/4 c chopped onion 4 cloves garlic 2 T fresh parsley 1 tsp dried thyme 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes Cook rice according to box directions. Set aside. Saute corn, carrots, peppers and onion in oil for 6-8 mins. Add garlic and cook additional 1 min. Stir in rice, peas and tomatoes, bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5 mins until heated. Add seasonings. Cook 2-3 mins.

Pork, Sauerkraut Since chicken and turkey is so unlucky, you’ve got to eat SOME kind of meat, right? There’s a superstition that because pigs hoove at the dirt in a forward motion, eating it is fine on New Year’s and you’ll move forward in the coming year. Sauerkraut is another traditional dish for the new year.

Pork Chops and Sauerkraut 6 pork chop loins, 3/4” thick 1 onion, sliced thinly 1 can diced tomatoes 1 can sauerkraut 2 cloves garlic 1/3 c brown sugar 2 tsp oil 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rub chops with pepper and salt. Cook each chop in 1 tsp oil 2-3 mins each side. Drain. Place in a baking dish, set aside. Cook onion in remaining oil until tender, add garlic, cook 1 additional min. Stir in tomatoes, sauerkraut and brown sugar. Stir, cooking until it comes to a boil. Pour mixture over chops. Cover and bake 20-25 mins or until cooked.

Lentils Lentils are said to resemble money. (Not to me, but to someone, I guess.) Naturally, things that look like money are great traditional dishes for New Year’s Day because that symbolizes incoming money to your household. Lentil Soup 4 strips bacon, diced 2 cans chicken broth 1 1/2 c lentils 1 onion 2 medium carrots 3 cloves garlic 3 T tomato paste Cook bacon until crisp. Drain off most of the fat. Chop carrots and onion, add to skillet. Cook 5 mins. Stir in garlic and tomato paste and cook 1 min. Add lentils, stock and 1 cup of water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover. Cool 30-45 mins or until lentils are tender.

INSTITUTE 193 A little gallery in Lexington sees the big picture

LexScene Magazine | 61 60 | www.LexScene.com

Lexington is home to a vibrant, thriving arts scene. That much is known by pretty much everyone. But many people don’t necessarily associate Central Kentucky with contemporary art. That’s something Institute 193 is hoping to change. “Certainly the largest markets for contemporary art are in big metropolitan areas, but that doesn’t mean groundbreaking art isn’t being made here,” explained Institute 193 director Chase Martin. “By exhibiting and documenting great art from this region, and placing it in the larger context of art history with our publications, Institute 193 is proving that sophisticated creative production can happen outside of big coastal cities.” Institute 193 opened its doors in October 2009 with an exhibition of work by artist Louis Bickett. They received non-profit status in December 2010. Since its opening, hundreds of people have taken in the art exhibits, musical performances, film screenings, poetry readings and other events that Institute 193 has hosted.

Institute 193 is excited to be partnering with LexArts and KET on a project called “21 Nights” in January 2012. 21 Nights will be a series of happy hours at several downtown bars, where they will screen episodes of Art:21, a PBS program about contemporary art. Each happy hour will feature the work of relevant Kentucky artists. Also in January, Institute 193 will be exhibiting a selection of drawings by Albert Moser. On February 17, they will be presenting a retrospective of pieces by ElandF Small Projects, the state’s only performance art organization. What’s next for the Lexington art scene? “We’re excited to see what happens as plans for the future of downtown continue to develop,” Martin explained. “It’s also been great to see other small groups such as the Lexington Visual Collective and the Lexington Fashion Collaborative continue to grow.” Institute193.org | facebook.com/pages/Institute-193

Founder Phillip March Jones grew up in Lexington. Well-connected within the Lexington contemporary arts scene, March launched Institute 193 as a way to spotlight Lexington’s creative potential and help it grow. Institute 193 also hopes to be an educational resource for the community, while at the same time helping local artists build connections to larger markets. Martin says that there are a lot of people involved in Institute 193’s operations and founding that have been absolutely essential including Robbie Morgan, Jim Clark, Guy Mendes, Ben Sollee, Bob Morgan, Robert Beatty, Lina Tharsing, Charlene Mingus, J.T. Dockery, Joe Costa, Bruce Burris and Pat Gerhard. What can visitors expect to see at Institute 193? Sculpture, paintings, photography and all manner of artistic installations are a part of the thrilling variety in-house at Institute 193. By showcasing emerging and mid-career professional artists from the Southern United States, chosen for quality of work rather than commercial appeal, Institute 193 ensures that each exhibit is fresh and chock full of creative brilliance. This December, Institute 193 turned the gallery into a shop for posters, t-shirts, albums and small original works by local artists and musicians. The proceeds from the pop-up shop benefit Institute 193 and the artists themselves. For those wanting to participate in Institute 193, the first step is stepping through the door. They’re open Thursday-Saturday from 10AM-5PM. Their blog is continually updated with what they’re up to.

Who’s Your Music Icon: That’s a tough question. I have several favorite artists such as George Strait, Travis Tritt, and the late Keith Whitley, but I would have to say my # 1 is Waylon Jennings.

Hometown: Lexington, KY Favorite Hang-out: Pazzos

The thing that impressed me most about Waylon was his quote that I have hanging on my wall. It reads: “You’ve got to care. You’ve got to care about the music. You work with other musicians who care and your audience cares. You better care too, Hoss, and if you

Drink of Choice: Diet Sun Drop Style of music: Rockin’ country and old country

Dreams/Aspirations: One that I realized recently was playing five nights at famous Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge during the 40th CMA Music Fest in Nashville, TN this past June. However, my biggest dream currently is to finish my degree from UK, complete my Audio Engineering Certification at LSRA, and a secret one is to play Rupp Arena. Why Lexington: I came to Lexington because of my love for the University of Kentucky. My passions for a

And you’d sure better not be doing it because it’s a way to make a living, cause that ain’t always going to be easy. You got to believe it, believe in the music. You got to mean it, that’s all.” Where do you play: Currently touring with my band. From early summer to the end of the year we will play from North Dakota to Key West, FL. Most Difficult Challenge for a Singer/Band Member: Being on the road is fun but also hard trying to manage schoolwork and balancing personal life.

Can’t speak for all of them, but I can tell you that this band practices a minimum of 4-5 hrs a day when not on the road. We practice on a really nice stage with sound equipment that is second to none. Business Advice: Work hard, have fun, do what you love, and don’t let the business change who you are. Personal Advice: Find the things and the people you love and never let them go. Financial Advice: Have family and a record label that will support you.

Business Scene Mickey’s road to the salon started in an unlikely way. After farming and holding various jobs as a young man, Mickey decided to do what he was truly passionate about--making women more beautiful! After thirtyfive years in the business as a stylist, Mickey can say that he’s helped a lot of women look and feel spectacular. Early in his career, Mickey had the embarrassing realization that he had limited education in the field of business, even though he knew well that he was on top of his game in his craft. Over his twenty-six years as a business owner, Mickey has certainly broadened his knowledge and learned a lot about running a business. After years of owning a small salon, Mickey decided to expand to a 6,000 square foot salon and spa in Chinoe Center. Now, Mickey has a large space to accomodate his big vision. Mickey credits his parents with a lot of his knowledge in life. “My parents equipped me with everything I needed to succeed in life starting with a hard work ethic and a true respect for others,” he explains. He says he can’t think of a single thing that his parents failed to teach him about life. Mickey has a huge family of six brothers, three sisters and a total of 30 nieces and nephews. That family love has carried over into his work. Mickey says he counts many clients and co-workers, both past and present, as members of his extended family. “Workaholic” is how Mickey describes himself in terms of his work ethic. He says he spends a great deal of time thinking about how to make the business as successful as it can be, how to better serve clients and how to create a workplace that will help his coworkers reach their full potential. He also aims to achieve total client satisfaction. Mickey says he intends to always be active in the beauty industry. He is certain that his passion will always be making the women he meets feel confident and beautiful. What don’t people know about Mickey or his business? He’s staying mum. “It’s like a private conversation between me and my client,” Mickey explains. “It stays private.”

Business Scene Brandice Harrison, PA-C says that her road to working at Privé was complete serendipity. She worked in Emergency Medicine for seven years and knew it was time for a change of pace. She’s always had a love for aesthetics. Ultimately, it was what she wanted to do. She’d been working in aesthetics a while when, through a series of what she calls “meant to be” events, she and her husband Dr. Scott Harrison (Privé’s medical director) met their future business partners. They never dreamed of owning their own business, but since then, they haven’t looked back! Becky McDonald, Executive Director of Privé, says she’s always had the entrepeneurial spirit. She says that while she’s always wanted to own her own company, she’s never come across a business that she felt fit in her heart-until she met Brandice. Becky says she knew this was “it”.

Privé Med Spa 3363 Tates Creek Rd - Ste 209 859.523.5893 privemedicalspa.com

They both feel that finding their location was the best business decision they’ve made. They love their spot! They decided to gut the space in the Lansdowne shopping center and start from scratch to create a convenient, serene place for their patients. They feel like their office really sets them apart. Their vision was so in sync for the space that it came together perfectly and is often complimentented by patients. Becky’s husband is a custom builder, so he was able to help shape the space by building its insides. When they’re not hard at work in their business, Becky and Brandice focus on family and fun. Becky loves preparing gourmet meals and entertaining with her husband. She has eight nieces and nephews and loves spoiling them rotten. Brandice and her husband love to travel to new places and experience different cultures with their two children.

Becky and Brandice say that something a lot of people may not know about their business is that they chose the name Privé because it means “private” in French. “The biggest compliment is when a friend looks at you and says ‘your skin looks great’ or ‘you look so rested’,” they explain. “You don’t always have to disclose your skincare secrets.” Privé has been in business for over a month now. While they only have one location currently, Becky and Brandice hope to have more in the future. They love their work so much, they can’t imagine getting out of the business at this point. “When you do something you love and are passionate about it, retirement doesn’t enter your mind very often,” they say.
