Infographics is the best way to highlight the position of Ukraine in the global agriculture and food markets. Infographics helps to understand the basic trends and paves the way through piles of data. We used color and graphical indications for each type of agricultural products. For example, corn is always displayed in the graphs in yellow and marked with this icon: Which types of data are used? We utilized data provided by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in order to define the positions of Ukraine in the global market.

MIND-BLOWING FACTS ABOUT UKRAINIAN AGRICULTURE
1560 OLYMPIC SWIMMING POOLS MAY BE FILLED WITH ALL SUNFLOWER OIL PRODUCED IN 2013.
ALL THE CORN PRODUCED IN 2013 CAN BE FITTED IN 43 OLYMPIC STADIUMS.
HARVEST 2013 MAY BE FITTED IN THE TRAIN AS LONG AS DISTANCE FROM UKRAINE TO BRAZIL In order to fit the 2013 harvest of grain crops and leguminous crops (62,3 million tons) in the train of grain carriers, you’ll need 923,5 thousand of carriers. The length of such train will be 11 681 km.
In order to fill the bowl of the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv with corn, you’ll just need the harvest collected in Mykolaiv oblast alone (0,72 million tons). At the same time you’ll need 43 stadiums in order to store all the corn produced in Ukraine in 2013.
UKRAINE PRODUCES PRACTICALLY AS MUCH WHEAT AS ALL AFRICAN COUNTRIES COMBINED.
UKRAINE IS THE SECOND COUNTRY IN THE WORLD IN THE SHARE OF ARABLE LAND OF THE OF THE COUNTRY.
Wheat harvest in Ukraine in 2013 is 22,3 million tons. All African countries grow around 25 million tons of wheat per year (2012 data).
56% of Ukrainian land is arable. It’s the second biggest figure in the world. Only one country have the bigger ratio – Denmark, where 58,9% of the country’s territory is arable.
It’s almost as far as the distance between Kyiv and Rio de Janeiro.
4
3,9 million tons of sunflower seed oil were produced in Ukraine. This volume will be enough to fill in 1560 Olympic swimming pools. Interesting that only 1/7 of oil is consumed in the domestic market. The major volume of ukrainian sunflower oil is exported to other countries.
UKRAINE IS THE LARGEST COUNTRY IN EUROPE BY AREA OF ARABLE LAND PER CAPITA. In Ukraine the scope of arable lands is 7 189 hectares per person – the biggest figure in Europe. Under this criteria Ukraine ranks sixth in the world after Australia, Kazakhstan, Canada, Argentina and Russia.
