From the Desk of Ryan Lanzen Good afternoon members, First, I apologize that the newsletter did not go out last week. Due to the events of last week we were more preoccupied with getting fire information out and making decisions based on the information that we were receiving. The Men’s Guest Day has been re-scheduled to Friday, July 22nd, 12:00 PM start. The Parent/Child event has also been postponed to a date yet to be determined. Even with the fire uncertainty, Crab Fest was a very successful night by all accounts. Congratulations are in order for Stephen Smith and Randy Murdoch on Tower #3 and Gary Smith on Cabin #9, all with holes in one since Thursday! Of note, from 209 yards and music playing in his cart, Gary Smith “heard it go in.” Good ears! A couple items of note, we have made some changes with the management of the Storage Units on property. The office has been moved to the clubhouse and you can reach staff for assistance by calling 928-5328000. If you have any needs, you can also feel free to reach out to me directly and I will be happy to assist you with your storage needs. Next, it is pool season and we love that the pool is such a popular spot. Please remember that there is no lifeguard on duty and parents need to supervise their children and their conduct at the pool. Also, children under 12 years of age are required to have adult supervision while using the pool. Thank you for your attention to these items, here’s some events you will want to be a part of: Torreon’s culinary team is proud to host our first Wine Pairing Dinner on June 22nd, featuring Rodney Strong Wines. The dinner starts at 6:00 PM and is $80++ per person. This delectable meal features 5 courses and 6 wines exquisitely prepared by Chef Spencer Gorman-Prow. Calling all winos, this event is for you! Reservations are filling and can be made by calling the Front Desk. Torreon Guest Day (formerly couples guest day) is coming on June 25th! This is NOT Men’s Guest Day or TWGA Guest Day… This IS an OPEN guest day for members to bring whoever they would like, men and women are all welcome. The event is a 12:00 pm shotgun start, preceded by lunch. This is a Heaven and Hell format that will feel heavenly for nine and a nine where you might think the devil himself set the course up. Come, grab your friends and join us for this new, fun event! Sign up by contacting the Golf Shop or going to the Event Calendar at www.torreon.com. Torreon Teens, mark your calendar for our first TEEN NIGHT at the Family Center on July 9th, 610pm. This is open for teens only, 13-17 years old. There will be food, games and other fun to be had or if you just want to come “hang out”, you can do that as well. Torreon is proud to present the comedic stylings of Mike James! Mike has been featured on the Tonight Show, Comedy Central and comedy channels on Sirius XM radio. He will be at Torreon for a Comedy Dinner Show on July 16th. The cost is $80 per person and that includes tax, gratuity, dinner, drinks and the show. The Family Center will also be open that evening so make your plans to attend today!
