CONVENTA HERALDS A NEW ERA OF TRADE SHOWS
Last month the city of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, welcomed buyers back to the ever successful CONVENTA event.

As one of the only major events running this summer, the event attracted much attention and as always was very well organised and targeted for the regional offering and beyond.
MICE & TOURISM around the World e-Magazine were present as international media partners and were pleased to meet new and old colleagues, all keen to get the event market back up and running with new vigour.
CONVENTA; the premier tradeshow of the meetings industry in New Europe took place at the end of August and intertwined 3 events: the international tradeshow CONVENTA, the CONVENTA Crossover conference and the CONVENTA Best Event Award competition.
An eventful 1st day at CONVENTA concluded with a networking dinner, where attendees could enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and share experiences and knowledge.
Croatia Airlines received the coveted CONVENTA Hall of Fame for their continued support, while Imre Diosi was presented with the CONVENTA Ambassador Award, celebrating the trade show’s most valuable ambassadors. The ceremony took place in the Cukrarna Art Gallery, one of Ljubljana’s most unique venues.
The spectacular evening included a mesmerising video mapping show by Virtual Europe Group.
The 14th CONVENTA trade show enticed attendees to get a glimpse of what the future holds for the meetings industry through its innovative format - CONVENTA Academy. Hosted concurrently with the classic business trade show, the Academy hosted marketing experts. In addition, they had the chance to explore the virtual portfolios of technology providers and special venues.
CONVENTA became a bustling hub for event organisers, meeting planners and industry professionals. 92 exhibitors and 145 hosted buyers from 33 countries joined the trade show this year, thus helping the regional meetings industry restart. CONVENTA made another record with over 2180 meetings held at this year’s CONVENTA Trade Show. At the end of the event, hosted buyers went off on post tours to discover regional destinations.
Reducing the event’s impact on the environment sits at the heart of CONVENTA’s aspirations. CONVENTA will thus measure its carbon footprint in cooperation with Climate Partner, thus ensuring that CONVENTA organisers provide the greenest possible way of organising events.
