THEATRE PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP

SUNSHINE VOCAL

Since 2003, the Town of Danville has offered an after-school program for youth ages 7 to 14 who aspire to be on stage. Theatre Performance Workshop’s creator, script writer, and instructor, Jeff Seaberg, creates a program based on the idea that children should be introduced to the entire process of play production. Working from original scripts, the young participants in the program enjoy the complete theatre experience from auditions through rehearsals and technical rehearsals, culminating in a one-weekend run on stage.

August 25 November 10 March 8 May 24

With a microphone in hand, young participants between the ages of 6 and 12 develop their musical talents in an enjoyable, specialized environment. Inspired by such programs as Star Search and American Idol, the Town’s Sunshine Vocal program is designed to provide months of training and coaching in order to prepare these young participants to perform live on stage.

LEADING LADIES

GOOD PEOPLE

THE GREAT GATSBY

By: Ken Ludwig October 30November 15, 2015

By: David Lindsay-Abaire January 30February 15, 2016

By: F. Scott Fitzgerald April 15May 1, 2016

When Jack and Leo, two struggling actors, read a news story about an unclaimed inheritance, they decide to put their acting talents to the ultimate test. One part Shakespeare, two parts Some Like It Hot, Leading Ladies, by Ken Ludwig, (author of Lend Me a Tenor), will have you laughing from the start

Margie Walsh is barely getting by on her Dollar Store salary. When she loses her job and faces eviction, Margie takes a chance by rekindling things with an old flame (well, more of a spark), hoping for a fresh start. Quirky, unpredictable and grounded in genuine humor that comes from hitting rock bottom, Good People will have you laughing one moment and crying the next as it explores the nature of our loyalties and our hopes.

Nick Carraway is drawn into a dangerous world of obsession and greed in this classic tale set amongst the glamour and excess of the Roaring Twenties. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s timeless commentary on the American Dream reminds us all of the danger of reaching so far that we lose sight of where we came from and who we are.
