TOUCHDOWN DANVILLE!

It’s time to kick off your plans for 2025! It’s hard to believe how fast time is going by. During the last few months of the year, we start thinking about New Year’s resolutions and setting goals we want to accomplish. Well, that time has come and we’re here to help you write your playbook for fun and recreation!

From young rookie players to seasoned professionals, there’s something for everyone. The best way to learn about what the Town has to offer is to attend the Recreation Expo & Open House on Saturday, February 8 from 10 AM to 1 PM. You will have the chance to get in the game, play and meet class instructors, learn about the different programs the Town offers for all ages. We’ll even have our referees available so you can ask any questions you may have. There are also fun activities for the rookie players! Additionally, the Recreation Expo & Open House provides a great opportunity to win and get a jump start on registration for summer camps and programs. Winter is the pre-season for summer and training camp is rapidly approaching!

As the new year approaches, let’s think about what goals we want to set and how we can reach the end zone. The Town is here and excited to kick off the season with you!

Ready…set…hike!

Auggie's A-Corner

This page is all about me, Auggie the Acorn! Danville’s official mascot.

Create a Football Tree

The traditional colors are brown, yellow, orange and white, but be creative! Maybe create a tree representing the colors of your favorite football team!

Materials:

• Construction paper

• White marker

Visit this page each issue to see what I'm up to this season! I love to learn new things and get creative! Look for a new activity in every issue of the Activity Guide. Test your skills and have fun!

• Scissors

• Glue

• Pencil

Directions :

1. With an adult’s help, cut leaf shapes and one tree trunk out of the construction paper (don’t cut the white construction paper- this is the backdrop!).

2. Using the white marker, draw football laces on the brown leaves. Or on whichever color leaves you choose! Use your imagination!

3. Glue the tree trunk to the white construction paper.

4. Place the leaves around the tree trunk and glue them to the white paper to create your tree!
