FALL IS BEE -UTIFUL…

Hello there, Danville!

For this month’s message, please allow me to share with you a poem inspired by the anticipated bee-utiful fall:

Welcome to our Fall Activity Guide,

where autumn dreams do reside, With golden leaves and chilly eves, let nostalgia be your guide.

Join in pumpkin fun, as jack-o'-lanterns glow,

Spooktacular and Walk-tober, where memories overflow.

Like bumble bees on flowers last, savoring each bloom,

We gather Fall’s sweet treasures, before the winter gloom.

This guide’s more than just events, it’s moments to relive,

New memories, old friends, and all the love we give.

As days grow short and nights grow cool, let’s gather, one and all,

To celebrate the season’s gifts, and the wonders of the Fall.

We hope to see you join us, in activities we’ve planned,

May autumn bring you warmth and joy, a season truly grand.

Fall into fun & stay bee-utiful, Danville!

Join us as we learn how to organize our life now for when we are not around later. Mortality is a natural part of the cycle of life. While it is not something you probably want to think about, you can make things a lot easier on yourself and your family if you get everything in order now while you can. It is critical to review your specific needs, especially if you are concerned about the following subjects: if you feel you are somewhat lost managing your finances; are uncertain whether your estate is in good order; need to know what tax returns need to be filed and at what critical times; want to reduce income and estate taxes; whether you have the necessary documents to designate what happens if you are ill or incapacitated; how to ensure the beneficiaries of your retirement accounts can stretch out your IRA for 10 years or even longer.

WICKED

Age 55Y & Up | Town Staff

WICKED, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz, but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin; smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.” From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, WICKED—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story that TIME Magazine cheers is “a magical Broadway musical with brains, heart and courage.” Fees include transportation by bus and a ticket to the show.

After lunch, we will stop at Pastorino's Farm for some fall shopping. This time of year, Pastorino's offers pumpkins and pumpkin pies, a retail nursery year-round for plants, cut flowers, and gifts. Egg Carton Bees Craft

Materials:

• Egg carton

• Scissors

Visit this page each issue to see what I'm up to this season! I love to learn new things and get creative! Look for a new activity in every issue of the Activity Guide. Test your skills and have fun!

• Yellow paint and paintbrush

Googly eyes

• Glue

• Black yarn

• White construction paper

• Black Sharpie

Directions :

1. Cut your egg carton into sections. You’ll need one section per bee.

2. Paint your egg carton section with yellow paint and let dry. (If your egg carton is dark, you can paint it white first and let it dry. Then paint yellow over the white.)

3. Make a small snip in the bottom, front edge of your painted egg carton. Slip one end of a piece of black yarn into the slit.

4. Wrap the black yarn around your yellow bee body. Make another small slit on the opposite, back end of your bee body. Slip the end of your yarn into the slit to hold it in place. Cut off any extra yarn.

5. Glue some googly eyes onto your bee’s face. (We like to use glue dots or quick drying glue.) Draw a mouth using a black marker.

6. Cut out some small wings from your white construction paper and glue on top of your bee.
