Message from the Town Council Danville is a special place. It has many of the programs and activities that you would find in a big city, while maintaining the quality and character of a small town. Residents enjoy great schools, amazing parks, safe neighborhoods and outstanding quality of life. 2013 was a very exciting year in Danville. It saw the re-opening of Danville South Park and the 100th Anniversary of the Village Theatre and Art Gallery, as well as the introduction of the new Danville Connect App, which provides unprecedented access for residents to reach the Town. As guardians of the community, we’re proud to share information on the programs and services provided by the Town of Danville. In a new format from past years, the 2014 Annual Report is more condensed, providing readers with a broader view of what your town government does for you. Questions or feedback? We’d like to hear it. Feel free to reach us at (925) 314-3388, stop by our website www.danville.ca.gov, or come chat at the Town Council office hours at the Danville Farmers’ Market from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. We hope you enjoy this report.

Maintenance Services

All of the things which make Danville a beautiful place to live require work, and upkeep. The Maintenance Services Department is responsible for the parks, buildings, roadways and landscaping throughout the town. The 25 full-time employees of Maintenance Services are responsible for taking care of all of Danville’s public buildings, from the Town Meeting Hall to the Village Theatre & Art Gallery to the Veterans Memorial Building. That equates to over 100,000 square feet of public buildings. In addition, the department oversees the 198 acres of Town-owned or managed parks and community facilities, as well as the 145 miles of roadways in Danville. Special Events would not be nearly as special without Maintenance Services. The department helps with the setup before all major Town events and is on the job immediately after they end with the cleanup as well.
