Ms. Mauch will explore the origins of the opera, which was based on both a novel and a play, and analyze the stylistic and musical atmosphere of 19th century Italian opera in which Puccini’s genius flourished. She will also offer us selected scenes and singing performances from some of the great productions of the opera. The curtain’s about to rise; don’t be late!
