Project Update

Town Hall Remodel The upstairs of Town Hall is currently being remodeled. Walls have been demolished, and contractors are working on the new layout.

Town Events

Autumn Fest Come out to Little Elm Park for an event you won't forget! There will be a carnival, complete with rides and games, live music, and much more. This is a great event for the entire family to enjoy! Sept 16: Carnival armband night 6 - 10 p.m. Sept 17: Carnival 6 - 11 p.m. Oktoberfest begins 7 p.m. Sept 18: Carnival noon - 11 p.m. Concert 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Sept 19: Carnival armband day 1 - 7 p.m.

Kid Fish September 18, 9 - 11 a.m. at McCord Park This free fishing tournament is for kids 16 or younger. Prizes will be given for the largest fish according to age groups, 2-6, 7-11, and 12-16. The pond at McCord Park will be stocked with over 500 lbs of catfish the week of the tournament to ensure a fish-biting good time. Kids can fish any time during the event but must be present to win any prizes. There will be loaner equipment available to anyone who needs it on a first-come, first served basis.

Oktoberfest September 17, 7 p.m. at Little Elm Park Join us for our great Oktoberfest celebration! Let the kids play at the carnival while you drink seasonal brews and listen to some great polka music! page | 3

Little Elm Park Report Parking at Little Elm Park: There is a $10 per vehicle fee per trip into the park, running through Labor Day. Parking fees are in effect on Fridays at noon and all day Saturday and Sunday. We also offer Seasonal Parking Passes which are available here! Beach Hours: 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. every day Be sure to follow Little Elm Beach and Little Elm Parks & Recreation on social media for continued information about the park and beach/boating etiquette!

The Cove at The Lakefront® Report Fall Hours: Monday-Friday: 4 - 8 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday: Noon - 6 p.m. Upcoming Events & Promotions The Cove at The Lakefront® is pleased to offer a robust learn-to-swim program. Please note that each swim class (except private/semiprivate swim lessons) has a maximum of six participants per class and a minimum of three participants per class. Classes with fewer than three enrollees the Friday before class is scheduled to start will be moved or combined with other classes to meet the minimum enrollment. Classes may be moved at the Town’s discretion if only two or fewer classes have enough enrollments to make. The Town of Little Elm will only offer swim lessons up to Learn to Swim 3. Sales Tax Update The Town received a distribution for the month of August 2021 from the State Comptroller’s office in the amount of $1,197,854.67. This sales tax distribution is for reported sales for the month of June and reflects the quarterly payment from Kroger. This is an increase of 10 percent or $105,817 from the June taxable sales last year. The FY 2021 budgeted sales tax revenue reflected a 3 percent increase over last year’s actuals/estimates. To date, the Town is over FY 2021 projected budgeted sales tax revenue by 16.42 percent. Statewide, the Comptroller’s office reported that sales tax collections year to date are up by 17.4 percent for August 2021 sales tax revenue compared to August 2020 and year to date up by 11.7 percent. The Town’s collected property taxes through July 2021 reflects the collection rate of 99.29 percent. All outstanding property taxes collections are shifted to the Town’s attorney for collections.
