EMERGENCY PROCEDURES Lumière has been constructed under the most stringent fire safety standards. All floors and rooms have sprinklers and are equipped with smoke detectors. It is important that you familiarize yourself with these instructions so that you are prepared in the event of an emergency.

UP ON A RR IVAL TO Y OUR GU EST RO O M O R R E S I D E NCE Familiarize yourself with your room location and nearest fire exit. Establish the route from your room to the nearest exit in case of fire. Learn your room layout and how to unlock your door in the dark. Leave your room key in an easily accessible place.

I F Y O U DIS COVE R A FIR E CLOSE THE DOOR: Even if this is the only step you take, it will delay the growth of the fire and the spread of smoke. ALARM: Pulling the fire alarm will perform two vital functions. First, it alerts others in the area of a potentially threatening situation. Second, it activates our fire alarm systems which initiates an immediate response by our hotel fire response team. PHONE: Call 911, state your name, location and the extent of the fire emergency. EVACUATE: Exit the building using the fire exits or stairs. Never use the elevator.

SHINING A LIGHT ON WORLD CLASS EXPERIENCES 12

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES I F Y O U HE AR AN ALAR M Test the door for heat with the back of your hand before opening. If it is cool, open the door slowly and look to ensure the hall is clear. If there is thick smoke, remain in your room. If the hallway contains little or no smoke, proceed to the nearest exit. Keep close to the wall and low to the floor. If the hallway gets dark or filled with smoke, count the number of doors to the exit. Test the stairwell door for heat with the back of your hand before opening and watch for smoke before entering the stairwell

I F S A F E PR OCE E D DOWN THE ST A IRS. Should the hallway or stairwell start filling with smoke and your exit becomes unsafe, return to your room as it is the safest place for you. Turn off the ventilation in your room. Use wet cloths, sheets, towels and blankets to place under the door and cover air vents. Fill the bathtub with water, keeping a wastebasket or ice bucket nearby to carry water to quickly wet cloths that are keeping the smoke out. Dial ‘0’ to report your location.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES FL Y F I S HIN G The San Miguel is one of the friendliest trout streams in the Rockies. Our “backyard” river, the San Miguel holds enormous appeal to anglers of every ability. Beginners enjoy short casting to unselective trout in the San Miguel’s high-gradient pocket water. Experts enjoy the challenge of fishing a highly structured stream that rewards clever casts and drag-free presentations. The San Miguel’s abundant trout fight incredibly hard in the river’s fast currents. Their food source is plentiful. The San Miguel hosts more than six species of stoneflies which hatch from February through September each year, along with a gigantic population of caddis flies.

G UI D E D 4 X4 TOUR S The guided 4x4 tours provide an unparalleled opportunity to experience Telluride’s fabulous high country while learning the history of one of the world’s most famous and notorious gold rush towns. The tours emphasize scenery and mining history. The routes are inherently “4WD” in nature because you’ll be traveling on old mining roads that were etched in the San Juan Mountains a hundred years ago. But the emphasis does not fall on “rock crawling” and technical maneuvering as it commonly does on desert country red rock tours. Telluride is among the most naturally gifted high-country areas on earth. Traveling into these mountains combines thrilling adventure, fascinating mining history and once-in-a-lifetime scenery.

M OUN T AIN BIKIN G Pedal a mountain bike through spectacular high country along the historic route of the Galloping Goose railway. The beginner-friendly guided tour begins on Lizard Head Pass, at over 10,000 ft. The trail winds around two subalpine lakes and descends into the magnificent South Fork Valley of the San Miguel River, traveling 17 miles of downhill and level terrain. A snack and drinks are provided at tour’s end.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES P H O T OG R AP HY TOUR S Telluride Outside is a teaching-oriented, beginner friendly company and nowhere is this more evident than in their photography guide service. Experienced photographers have a field day on these trips, but as a beginner or intermediate, you will learn more than you can imagine under the guidance of the friendly professionals. Telluride is the ultimate training ground for beginners because there is such a wide variety of subject matter all within a stone’s throw. With the instant feedback offered by digital cameras, you can see the results of your techniques and make adjustments for your next frame. Complete beginners consistently come home with “magazine cover” photos and techniques that will enhance your photography for the rest of your life.

R A F TI N G Splashy, fast and fun, the San Miguel offers terrific rafting for guests of any experience level. Running the San Miguel requires constant maneuvering and excellent teamwork. Grab a paddle and jump in the raft!

R O C K C L IMBIN G Rock climbing trips are a signature Telluride experience. The professional guides will instruct you in the use of harnesses, ropes and technical climbing equipment. You can explore the vertical realm with the assistance of a qualified and nurturing guide. These trips provide you with an adventurous way of exploring the beauty of this region.

V I A F E R R ATA A via ferrata (Italian for “road of iron”) or klettersteig (German for “climbing path”) is a mountain route which is equipped with fixed cables, steeples, ladders, and/or bridges. The use of these added elements allows otherwise isolated routes to be joined to create longer routes which are accessible to people with a wide range of climbing abilities. The Telluride’s Via Ferrata is a thrilling technical hike along the east end of the Telluride canyon, offering spectacular views of Bridal Veil Falls and the Telluride Valley. This unique adventure will be guided by knowledgeable instructors who supply top of the line equipment. If you want a new and exciting trip, this offering is for you. SHINING A LIGHT ON WORLD CLASS EXPERIENCES 16

IN-RESIDENCE INSTRUCTIONS I N - FL OOR H E ATIN G Please note that our units are not air-conditioned. Because we are located at over 9,500 ft. the mountain air naturally cools the hotel. Each unit is heated through an in-floor, radiant heating system. You can use the thermostat in your unit to adjust the heating set point up or down. Make sure you have selected the “Heat” option. NOTE: USING THE “COOL” SETTING WILL NOT MAKE THE UNIT COOLER. If your room or residence becomes too warm, crack a door or window to regulate the temperature.

COFFE E M AKE R Fill the water reservoir by removing the carafe from the heating plate and fill with cold water to just over the amount of coffee you are making. Add the ground coffee to the filter provided. Many coffee bars and the Specialty Coffee Association of America recommend adding 1 tablespoon per cup. NOTE: The max capacity for ground coffee is 15 tablespoons. Before brewing coffee, make sure you have replaced the carafe in its position on the warming plate and closed the top cover. Plug cord into electrical outlet. Power unit: Turn the function knob to the “on” position and the red indicator will light. Or set the Auto On function and the green indicator will light. Once the coffee has finished brewing, stir it before serving to blend the flavors. The coffee at the bottom of the carafe will be somewhat stronger than the coffee at the top.

D I S H W A SHE R Once the Dishwasher is loaded with your pre-rinsed dishes, place dishwashing detergent in the dispenser and close the door. Press the main power switch located at the top left of the door. Select a program by pressing the program selector one or more times until the required program symbol lights up. For normally soiled dishes, use the normal wash program with normal temperature and normal dry. Press start. SHINING A LIGHT ON WORLD CLASS EXPERIENCES 18

IN-RESIDENCE INSTRUCTIONS W AS H I N G M ACH IN E Sort your laundry, open the washer door and load the laundry. Turn on the main power switch. Add detergent as required by pouring the powder into the main wash compartment and pre-wash compartment as well if desired. Select your program by turning the program selector. A red field lights up beside the selected program and the estimated program time appears on the display.

DRYER Turn on the main power switch. Open the door, load the items and then close the door. Select program depending on what you intend to do with the items after tumbling. The program options are auto heavy, auto normal, auto delicate, auto iron dry, timed dry program and air fluff. NOTE: Knit fabrics in particular are prone to shrinkage. Use the auto delicate or auto iron dry for such items. Auto normal and auto delicate programs shut off the heat once the load is dry without being “bone-dry”. Press the start button.

S T E A M SHOWE R Press the ON/OFF key to start or stop the flow of steam. Steam will begin to flow a few minutes after the control is turned ON. Press TIME key to set or display the remaining relaxation time. The control is pre-set and will display a time of 20 minutes. With the time displayed, press the UP and DOWN keys to set the desired duration time. It is highly recommended to not exceed 30 minutes. Setting the temperature can be done by pressing the TEMP key to set the desired temperature. It is highly recommended to begin with 105oF and adjust as you get more comfortable. The control will turn off when the relaxation period times out.
