Stop by the store to purchase cheese, milk, and ice cream in a multitude of flavors. Designed by Harry Weese, the Chazen is home to the second-largest collection of art in Wisconsin, with more than 20,000 works, including paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints, photographs, and decorative arts covering geographic locations from Ancient Greece, Western Europe, the Soviet Empire, Moghul India, eighteenth-century Japan, and modern Africa. Geology Museum, Weeks Hall 1215 West Dayton Street. Reconstructed dinosaurs, mastodon skeleton, mineral samples, and walk-through Wisconsin limestone cave. House on the Rock 5754 Highway 23, Spring Green. One of Wisconsin’s top tourist attractions, this miraculous house is situated atop a rock. Tour over two miles of amazing collections and exhibits, including the world’s largest carousel and a street from yesteryear lined with authentic shops and homes. 608-935-3639. Monona Terrace Convention Center Located on the shores of Lake Monona in downtown Madison, Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center is an incomparable meeting facility combining a Frank Lloyd Wright design, beautiful lake views, and state-of-the-art technology. Since it opened in July 1997, Monona Terrace has served as a community focal point for residents and visitors alike. The facility hosts a tremendous variety of events, including international conventions, academic conferences, consumer shows, banquets, weddings, and concerts.

Wisconsin State Capitol Located on an isthmus between two lakes at the heart of the city. The only granite dome in the U.S. has over 40 different types of stone from around the world inside, as well as murals and handmade furniture. The observation deck, open in the summer, offers city and lake views. Free daily tours (except major holidays). Dedicated to the citizen-soldiers of our state. View the many exciting displays, which include dramatic portrayals of the men and women from Wisconsin who served in America’s conflicts from the Civil War to the Persian Gulf War. 608-267-1799. Wollersheim Winery 7876 Highway 188, Prairie du Sac. Visitors are invited on a guided tour that includes the rich history of the winery as well as an explanation of the tradition and modern wine facilities.
